It is a looks to be the first step forward on a long journey for justice for Baltimore, Freddie Gray and African Americans across the country. Much to talk about tonight, hope you can join us right here for our live chat about the week’s events, Vox Populi.

Hey Murph!
AdLib 7 days ago

Oh! Wait…..Ad Lib is here…let the party begin…howdy Ad!
MurphTheSurf3

How does it feel to see what’s happening in Baltimore?
AdLib 7 days ago

Hey Funk!
AdLib 7 days ago

Hello Funk….how are the animal husbandry exhibits at the fair?
MurphTheSurf3

Funk, can you get me a stick of fried butter?
AdLib 7 days ago

One of the most interesting turns on the Baltimore events is that of the six police, three are black….this has put the focus on the police vs. the poor.
MurphTheSurf3

What happened to my profile picture? It’s been gone a couple of days.
funksands

Funk – Bernie has never said the word “chill” in his life! But he is cool.
AdLib 7 days ago

That’s Hillary texting him
funksands

Murph – Exactly! The race issue is involved because I believe the white officers are the ones who arrested him but this underlines, it is the police vs. the poor and black.
AdLib 7 days ago

Funk – Yes, I saw that. Just sayin’…
AdLib 7 days ago

Ad, I’ll post my problem with my avatar on the help desk later
funksands

Murph – That is a very enlightening “lineup”. Reflects that the mindset of police feeling the people they serve in urban areas are inferior, no matter the color.
AdLib 7 days ago

“Just following orders” has been the source of a lot of bad things
funksands

Funk, click the three line icon on this chat window, click your existing avatar on the pop up then you can upload a new avatar.
AdLib 7 days ago

Precisely…..those photos had an interesting effect on the street “protestors” among those effects….lots of folks taking photos with police and national guardsmen they respect.
MurphTheSurf3

Hooray?
funksands

Murph – It does illustrate the literal class warfare that grips America,
AdLib 7 days ago

Funk…but they were not following orders. Violations of SOP are one of the key reasons why that young man died. What they are doing is following the crowd in the police subculture.
MurphTheSurf3

Hooray!
funksands

Woo hoo!
AdLib 7 days ago

Ad Lib. It does. With those police as the Praetorian Guard for the Imperial Class.
MurphTheSurf3

Funk is back in full funkadosity.
MurphTheSurf3

Murph, they weren’t following PROCEDURE. It remains to be seen if they were following orders
funksands

And what did you think of the Police Union President’s statement?
AdLib 7 days ago

Have’t heard it yet. Been a bit preoccupied today
funksands

Funk….they were required to secure all prisoners safely in transport. They were required to call for medical back up when requested. They were required to go directly to a booking center. They were required to submit honest reports. They were required to have probable cause. They did none of it.
MurphTheSurf3

Hi there, Glenn.
MurphTheSurf3

Murph, I’m aware of that. If the senior officer in the group told the rest of them how to proceed in handling the situation…
funksands

Hi Glenn
funksands

Funk – He attacked the State Attorney, claimed it was a rush to judgement than a moment later made an absolute judgement that all the officers are innocent of any crime. And he is demanding the State Attorney recuse herself.
AdLib 7 days ago

Check out this video and article:
http://www.baltimoresun.com/news/maryland/baltimore-riots/bs-md-fop-letter-20150501-story.html
FOP calls on prosecutor to recuse herself, defends officers
A Fraternal Order of Police lodge is asking Baltimore State’s Attorney Marilyn Mosby to appoint a special prosecutor to the Freddie Gray investigation because of her personal connection to the Gray family’s attorney, William H. “Billy” Murphy Jr., and her marriage to a city councilman.

AdLib 7 days ago

Hi Murph, Funk, Ad. How is everyone this evening?
glenn

Ad, that’s his job. I’ll check it out.
funksands

Hey glenn! Doing well, and you?
AdLib 7 days ago

Good, Glenn how about you?
funksands

If the senior officer did….and it was in violation of procedure then the junior officers were in further violation BUT the arresting officers are not the ones with the most serious charges….it is the driver of the van….
MurphTheSurf3

Ah okay. I admit I am not up on today’s updates
funksands

Funk – Yeah…well, in light of all the lies the cops leaked and stated until today, it just pours more gas on the fire.
AdLib 7 days ago

Ad, et al–Except for a terrible cold, I’m doing fine. Took some OTC meds and at least I’m not sneezing every 2 seconds. So…don’t know how long I’ll last tonight. Gotta keep up with “the boys”; not sure how capable I am tonight. I can always blame it on the meds, right?
glenn

Ad, for sure. It makes a bad situation worse
funksands

FOP is the voice of the cop…..and that voice is always one of support….no matter what…
MurphTheSurf3

Glenn, have you tried meth? Works for Murph.
funksands

Sorry to hear that, glenn! And yes, you’ve got carte blanche tonight, you can absolutely blame the meds for anything and everything!
AdLib 7 days ago

Glenn….is it a cold? or a flu? Bacterial vs. viral?
MurphTheSurf3

Yeah, I don’t expect anything from the union spokesman other than 100% unqualified support. Hopefully they don’t make the situation worse in the meantime though.
funksands

funk…..shhhhhhhhh! That is not an advertised crop on the farm.
MurphTheSurf3

mums the word
funksands

Murph – Right, I understand but to follow up lies with bigger lies only destroys the reputation and the community’s respect for cops who are supporting murder and a cover up.
AdLib 7 days ago

Glenn- my physician is an osteopath and he has a very simple rule. What kills both bacteria and viruses is heat. SOOOO….he tells me: hot, hot showers; blankets, hot liquids and tap water…..raise the body core temperature and flush it (oh! and take zinc!)
MurphTheSurf3

Murph–I’ve been wondering why none of the so-called media in our country has interviewed ANY cops. Not in a press conference; but in an interview like they do with protestors, victims’ families, civil rights leaders, and any other damn person they can parade in front of the cameras. Where are the “good” cops condemning their follow officers? If protesters are supposed to “take responsibility”, where are the other cops asking for these officers who commit these crimes to “take responsibilit?” Why aren’t the good cops speaking out about this? Why aren’t the so-called journalists in this country asking cops how they feel when they have to go out and spray tear gas, mace, and/or bullets at fellow citizens because of the actons of a few “rogue” cops? Why aren’t other police speaking out about this?
glenn

Ad….if the lies serve the FOP that is what they ladle out.
MurphTheSurf3

Murph – Wouldn’t drinking molten zinc do the trick?
AdLib 7 days ago

funksands

Ad…..only if it is mint flavored.
MurphTheSurf3

Funk–not sure where to get the meth. Murph, don’t know if it’s the cold or flu–just taking the meds to see what happens!
glenn

Murph–hot works for me–I hate being cold!
glenn

Glenn: cops tend to run as a pack and pack loyalty is very high. Further there is a standard that they only comment on pending investigations per DepartmentalPolicy
MurphTheSurf3

glenn – Excellent points! It is always a double standard. Yes, the police are public servants and entitled to different treatment but just as the RW attack Muslims for not coming out strongly enough to condemn terrorists else they come off as sympathetic…why shouldn’t the same standard be applied to police?
AdLib 7 days ago

Glenn, that’s a good question. If I’m not mistaken, serving officer have to get permission to speak to the press. I’m guessing the commanders probably don’t want them to? I’ve seen plenty of interviews with retired officers that have condemned recent events. However, I haven’t seen many where an exploration of how things are or are not different now.
funksands

Glenn- most meds are symptom relievers and actually can sustain the conditions for bacterial and viruses.
MurphTheSurf3

I’ve found that not getting sick really helps
funksands

BRB
MurphTheSurf3

Hope you feel better soon Glenn.
funksands

Funk–This is the first time I”ve been sick in a couple of years. I think one of the rug rats whom I tutor gave me this little “present”.
glenn

Ah yes. Damn kids
funksands

I think the State Attorney, Mosby, could have a big political career if she convicts these homicidal cops.
AdLib 7 days ago

Ad–exactly my point as to the double standard. Another double standard near and dear to my heart is how “evil” teacher’s unions are, yet police unions are there to “protect” police from the “public”. That one really gets me!
glenn

Ad, for sure. Took some courage to do the right thing (as bad as that sounds)
funksands

Ad–Already Mosby is being attacked by the rwnj. So far, though, I like her style.
glenn

So, guys, what about Bernie entering the presidential race?
glenn

Mosby…I talked to my Deputy friend tonight….a white middle aged rural cop…his comment “The kind of prosecutor who I would trust right to the bone.”
MurphTheSurf3

glenn – Yes, police and their unions get the halo over them because some of them are at risk to help protect citizens. A friend of mine worked as an IT guy with the Camden Police. He got along with them fine but many of them creeped him out. And he said that many of them made concerted efforts not to patrol the more dangerous areas where their protection was most needed. Cops are human, but they have a lot of power and we all know what power eventually does to many people.
AdLib 7 days ago

I’m excited to see him in the race, Glenn. Especially running as a Democrat. That lets me know that he understands his role in the process rather than this being a vanity run. I’d love to see him win, but even if he doesn’t, he’ll have performed a vital function. This also pretty much guarantees that Warren won’t let herself get drafted to run
funksands

Murph, that’s cool
funksands

glenn…Bernie….sent him money….I like him a lot….if you do not know his background go to Wiki and read it….he is one impressive dude.
MurphTheSurf3

Ad–Power corrupts, but absolute power corrupts absolutely. Isn’t that the quote?
glenn

Funk – She was principled and brave, indeed. And defiant, she knew that the moment she announced the arrests, she would be villified.
AdLib 7 days ago

Funk, the deputy serves in a county with a fine sheriff who is GOP to the core, but an IKE Repub.
MurphTheSurf3

Murph – That’s very cool to hear. She does come off as genuinely principled.
AdLib 7 days ago

Which of course means that she must be crushed….
funksands

Ad…Chris Hayes did a good interview with her tonight and she said she was ready to hold any officer who flagged in his duty accountable….a warning for sure.
MurphTheSurf3

Murph–I like Bernie a lot, too. Loved his announcement. Basically, he stepped up to the podium, said, “I’m running for president. Now I have to get back to work.” Loved it!
glenn

glenn – Yep, that’s what I was referring to, absolute power corrupting absolutely and when it comes to everyday life, who’s more powerful over most Americans than police?
AdLib 7 days ago

Oh yeah, I need to watch that.
funksands

Murph – Consider how many DAs and State attorneys have refused to do their duty, she is the only one so far with the strength to do this. Pretty impressive.
AdLib 7 days ago

BTW, I am VERY excited for his candidacy for one reason: His hire for the Democratic Budget Committee (and I’m hoping his hire for campaign economic advisor) is Stephanie Kelton, the premier voice of Modern Monetary Theory in the country!
funksands

So guys, will Bernie be able to raise the kind of money that Hillary will? Does he actually have a chance of winning the Dem primary?
glenn

No
funksands

and probably no
funksands

nope
Harleigh

glenn – I don’t think Bernie even thinks he could beat Hillary but he knows that he will have a very powerful influence on her positions which, if she is elected, will mean Bernie would have a big overall influence.
AdLib 7 days ago

Ad…agree with your comment about the DA doing her real duty
MurphTheSurf3

Obama was polling about the same as Bernie at this same time in 2007, but Bernie does not have the personal magnetism and dynamic that Obama has. He’s got a tough fight. But he’s won tough fights before….
funksands

Glenn….Bernie will not be able to raise big money but he will get plenty of free time from the networks, and the internet. I expect a grassroots campaign with many of Warren’s people going to him.
MurphTheSurf3

Well, it certainly will be interesting to see how far left Bernie is able to pull HIllary. And, even if he pulls her left in the primary, if she is elected, will she move back to the right?
glenn

Hey Harleigh!
glenn

He did raise 1.5 million in small donations over the last 24 hrs. But he doesn’t have any pet billionaires yet, so he WILL get outspent. I suspect that’s how he wants it.
funksands

I agree with both AD and FUNK re. Sanders….he will be a Socratic Gadfly AND that is good.
MurphTheSurf3

What up Florida?
funksands

My theory about Bernie is that he will pave the path for all Dem Primary candidates, they will have to follow his populist path or risk losing protest votes along the way. And my ultimate hope is that one of the candidates that pop up will look more viable and truly compete with Hillary.
AdLib 7 days ago

Funk–he definitely will be running as the “underdog”.

Harleigh

Harleigh–why does TX think we want them? If we attack them and “capture” them WTH are we going to do with them?
glenn

gad·fly ˈɡadˌflī/ noun noun: gadfly; plural noun: gadflies a fly that bites livestock, forcing them to move about (which keeps them exercised). In human behavior…. an annoying person, especially one who provokes others into action by criticism.
MurphTheSurf3

Hey Sabreen!
AdLib 7 days ago

Funk, we good Marylanders haven’t been in panic bunkers. Well the Repub Marylanders have.

Sabreen60

Murph–a gadfly is just what we need!
glenn

LOL Texas should fear us leaving them!
Harleigh

Funk – Yep, I do think the grass roots will keep Bernie afloat for much of the campaign.
AdLib 7 days ago

glenn…In some ways Bernie will be better at gadflying than Liz would be-he knows international affairs.
MurphTheSurf3

Sabreen–hate to use the blanket statements–but you were right the first time–the good Marylanders aren’t in bunkers. As far as I”m concerned, repub Marylanders aren’t “good” people.
glenn

Ad….I mentioned to Glenn that I am planning to put my money behind Bernie right now…..let’s see what some farm grown pennies can do!
MurphTheSurf3

He said himself that the only reason he declared as a Dem is so he can get on stage during the debates
funksands

He was on
funksands

Murph–agreed. And, as someone said above, it keeps Warren from having to run, and lets Bernie have a stage.
glenn

Funk…and that is just fine by me! Dem. Bernie is Democratic Socialist Bernie.
MurphTheSurf3

I was goona run but there are enough klowns for entertainment so I said fucket.
Harleigh

glenn – So true. I read an article where Gov Hogan took it upon himself to extend the law requiring those arrested to be processed in 24 hours to 47 hours. Lawyers when balistic. He can’t take it upon himself to change the law. But that’s how Repubs roll.
Sabreen60

Harleigh…fucket, is that like Obama’s fucket list?
MurphTheSurf3

Funk – I think Bernie is very clear eyed about what he can and can’t do in the primary, he isn’t there to win, he’s there to influence and promote Progressive views. That is fantastic and will also paint Hillary into a corner if she plans on veering right in the GE.
AdLib 7 days ago

Sabreen–so what is the law regarding arrests?
glenn

exacery!
Harleigh

He was on Thom Hartman today taking calls from listeners about his candidacy. He kept saying over and over again that while he appreciates the good wishes and promises of support, NO PRESIDENT no matter how awesome and amazing and big hearted they are will be able to get anything done with the money involved in the process and the apathy of the voting populace.
funksands

funksands

glenn

Murph – Gotta love them farm grown pennies!
AdLib 7 days ago

Funk which is a problem for me. Bernie thinks so little of the Democratic Party, which is right, but now he’s going to run as a Democrat? And Democrats are suppose to be okay with that?
Sabreen60

MurphTheSurf3

glenn – Now, now.

Sabreen60

Murph and Funk – Hillary is very predictable. Her bogus Warren impression to kick off her campaign, her embracing all the Progressives and trying to outdo them…wait until the race starts thinning out and f she looks inevitable, she will move to the right without a hesitation.
AdLib 7 days ago

Sabreen–hey, I’m on cold medication, and Ad says I have a “pass” tonight on what I say.

glenn

glenn – The law is people have to be processed within 24 hours or released. The Gov doesn’t have the authority to extend that. I also read an article by a public defender attorny who said the conditions for the women prisoners were awful.
Sabreen60

Harleigh

Sab….without BIG MONEY Bernie will not win but he will draw a lot of attention from think Dems.
MurphTheSurf3

Sabreen – Same here. I find everything she’s done and siad to date since announcing her candidacy has been very choreographed and pre-meditated to pander to the Preogressive wing of the Dems, thereby trying to suck up all the oxygen in the room from true Progressives. Once they’re sidelined, she can do whatever she wants because Dems will either vote for her or have another President Bush for 4-8 years.
AdLib 7 days ago

PPO…..when did you sneak into the room? ANYWAY, howdy Mate!
MurphTheSurf3

Ad, I think she’ll take Obama’s position on a lot of things. Very progressive on social issues, very non-confrontational when it comes to economic issues. It’ll sound good, but ultimately won’t amount to much.
funksands

MurphTheSurf3

Murph, that’s what I think. Nothing has really changed much since 2007.
funksands

Sabreen – On totally superficial grounds, which unfortunately carry a lot of weight, I think Bernie would have a hard time in a GE because the likeability factor is so critical and he’s a fighter but not the kind of guy indies and moderates would feel close to.
AdLib 7 days ago

Sabreen, you are correct
funksands

Again, I don’t have an expectation of Hillary to be something she isn’t. Domestically (like Obama) the best she’ll be able to do with a GOP House is to man the trench against the Huns. I’m MUCH more interested in what she’s going to do with her real power, her foreign policy power
funksands

Yeah – Murph I saw that. I was reading too fast. I was reading so much stuff today.
Sabreen60

Murph – I sure hope you’re right and I agree that it’s possible, not because that is Hillary’s true direction but she wants to be President and will do what she has to, to get there, even sacrifice her actual positions and play the role of a Progressive. She won’t be a lock to win a 2nd term if she veers to the right in her first.
AdLib 7 days ago

not to worry… late 007 after the election i started a palin-bachmann campaign,,,, and every cycle since!
Harleigh

Funk–the thing that worries me about HIllary’s foreign policy is that she’ll think she has to “act tough” to show that a woman prez is capable of the grit it takes to be commander in chief.
glenn

Hey PPO
glenn

Ad Lib….my read as well….with the following caveat…I think that the philsophy in her corner of the Dem party is shifting left because it is expedient to do so and because it may be the most effective way to govern.
MurphTheSurf3

Glenn, I think that may be a bit overblown. I think she’s genuinely pretty hawkish and doesn’t have to manufacture that.
funksands

Funk – I think you nailed it. Hillary may spout a lot of Progressive outrage about economics but in the end, I don’t think she’ll push hard on it…or she’ll support plans that benefit the wealthy and the middle class. I don’t see her hammering the wealthy, what would happen to donations to the Clinton Foundation?
AdLib 7 days ago

Funk–didn’t say it so well, but that’s what worries me about her–her “hawkish” position. I like PBO’s measured and diplomatic responses so much better.
glenn

Glenn, he’s shown himself to be pretty comfortable using the tools he’s given, but I agree that he is a bit more moderate than she is.
funksands

I can absolutely imagine Hillary feeling the need to make her mark and prove her toughness by launching aggressive military action in a situation where we shouldn’t. She is wholly untrustworthy on matters of war and peace.
AdLib 7 days ago

Ad–agree completely.
glenn

AdLib – I hope she’ll be more wise. I don’t see her running for a second term. Maybe she will, but she may be too old. Maybe she’ll think about her legacy during her first term, should she win.
Sabreen60

I don’y agree. I don’t see her as a knee-jerk hawk.
Harleigh

Ad…I think her time as SOS has moderated her approach to the use of the miltary….she knows how ineffective it often is…..and in this, she is swinging more to Bill’s focus.

Murph – The irony is, most of America is more to the Left than the Dems have been. They support gay marriage, peaceful negotiations with Iran on nukes, legalizing pot, fixung income inequality, on and on.
AdLib 7 days ago

Harleigh – I hope Bill won’t help her with domestic issues.
Sabreen60

Ad…truth….and the public is dragging the Dems along.
MurphTheSurf3

yep
Harleigh

Ad, I think she could run a pretty progressive economic campaign without even mentioning the wealthy. But real change is going to require a tremendous amount of deficit spending by the federal government, and that is probably a line that Hillary can’t make herself cross. She can’t overcome the legacy of Bill’s balanced budget to represent it as an evil rather than virtuous.
funksands

Sabreen – I think Hilary knows that “important” and memorable Presidents don’t step down after one term. She will want the full 8 years no matter how old she will be.
AdLib 7 days ago

Harleigh – She voted for war in Iraq, in 2008 she boasted about her willingness to bomb Iran, at least before serving as SoS, Hillary has always been aligned with the war hawks.
AdLib 7 days ago

Funk….bill’s “balanced” budget was based on an economic boom (and thus big tax revenues), cuts in social spending under the “welfare reform rubric” and a very small military footprint.
MurphTheSurf3

Hi, everybody, Checking every now and again. I’m as busy as a one-armed wallpaper hanger.
pinkpantheroz

AdLib – Sometimes it doesn’t matter what “we” want. I don’t rule out health issues. She may be very capable, but that’s not written in stone. In fact, IMO, Dems have been caught pretty flat footed by not looking for viable candidates for 2016. I hope they don’t make the same mistake again. At least look at who may be worth vetting.
Sabreen60

ad she apologized for falling for the bush bullshit… and both wars
Harleigh

Murph, that problem is that it is portrayed as a “good” thing rather that the result of total fiscal mismanagement. You watch how many times a shrinking deficit is portrayed as a “victory” by Democrats.

Good Friday evening, kids! Just got off line from a show down with an 87 year old racist who thought the way to talk about the situation in Baltimore was to post about two dozen massively offensive racist cartoons. He blew up when I confronted him. Now he’ll probably have a stroke and my Catholic guilt will kick in.

funksands

glenn. Agree. Just confirms that cops will have to change their ways, as there will always be cameras around. They keep forgetting that
pinkpantheroz

Funk – I don’t know. If you just consider it on the selfish level, when other gov’t attorneys see how Mosby becomes revered and elevated, talked about for higher elective office, might not others see it as a path for self-advancement if nothing else?
AdLib 7 days ago

I’m surprised he didn’t tell me to get off his lawn.
kesmarn

Kes – I saw a young lady interviewed who said that the cameras left when every thing was peaceful. No one from TV news showed up until fires were set. Sad but true.
Sabreen60

I heard today that the ACLU has a new free app that will instantly download any video of police brutality to a cloud storage site, so that even if your phone is “confiscated” and erased, there will still be documentation.
kesmarn

Kes–Isn’t it amazing that not one Dem has worked a day in his/her life, yet all repubs have “pulled themselves up by their bootstraps”? You know, like romney did! LOL!
glenn

Ad, I think self advancement is helpful for one-off situations, but I don’t think the hegemony of the police is threatened by that. It’s going to take Bobby Kennedy levels of intervention to change all of this
funksands

Sabreen and glenn—- YES and YES!
kesmarn

Kes…love (and at times hate) the ACLU (but mostly love)
MurphTheSurf3

I thought that app was brilliant!
kesmarn

Sabreen–that’s essentially what PBO said, too. Where were the cameras when the protests were peaceful?
glenn

Kes – That’s cool but nothing will ever change my dislike of the ACLU for supporting Citizens United. They betrayed all of us and our democracy, I strongly dislike those self-righteous hypocrites.
AdLib 7 days ago

Kes, I’ve hear that as well. I hope ACLU enjoys their lawsuit against the ACLU. Joke aside, its the beginning of a good idea.
funksands

WIll body cameras reduce the amount of police abuse?
AdLib 7 days ago

Ad, agree about the ACLU, plusses and minuses, but what I loathe are the Jacksons and Sharptons of this world politicizing every tragedy they can. Why can’t they fix it in Wa.?
pinkpantheroz

25 damaged vehicles in Seattle tonight!! Mercy!!!
funksands

That’s a good point, AdLib. I lost respect for AARP when they endorsed Dubya’s “donut hole” Medicare giveaway to Big Pharma too. (And I wasn’t even old enough to have a dog in that fight.) Some of these “advocacy groups” bear a lot of scrutiny.
kesmarn

Ad, probably. But (IMO) its a very lazy way to handle a complex problem. It’s something the TSA would come up with to solve a problem
funksands

Ad…that is one of those moments I hated the ACLU and why I stopped giving to them. They finally took me off their donation list since I sent back the envelopes with an invitation that they seek support from the Billionaires they back in CU.

Ad- will body cameras help? Yes but more importantly is a change in police culture….a return to community based policing.
MurphTheSurf3

PPO – Trayvon Martin’s parents asked Sharpton to get involved. Sharpton has brought attention to a lot of injustices that the media never would have covered.
Sabreen60

Funk – Are you chatting here on your iPhone as you Hulk-Smash cars in Seattle?
AdLib 7 days ago

Someone phrased it as: “Police need to remember that they are guardians and not warriors.”
kesmarn

It’s May Day Glenn. It happens pretty much every year here. Typically at the end after the good stuff is over. There’s some cross-linkage to the recent events with the police, but our anarchists kind of just go through the motions.
funksands

Kes – Mosby said the investigations have been going on for two weeks. I think she had a lot of information.
Sabreen60

Sab….my problem with Sharpton is that the wake created by his presence is short lived and weak…..a flash in the pan.
MurphTheSurf3

Has anyone been watching Larry Wilmore’s shows on the events in Baltimore? IMO, he’s shown the side of the protests we never get to see in the “lamestream media.” I’m beginning to like his show more and more.
glenn

Ad, on my lap-top! Death to whitey!! Death to Fascist Imperialist Pigs! Anyone have a charger?
funksands

Murph – I think it will be much more difficult than many imagine to bend the police back from their militarization back to a community mentality. And I say that in general, there are cops that are community minded but a minority in most of the places that most need that type of policing.
AdLib 7 days ago

Glenn, his show is painful to watch, but he has a real talent. I think Larry just hasn’t found his voice yet
funksands

I imagine the autopsy results had a lot to do with her decision making. Guess that’s obvious, but you know what I mean.

Ad- which makes me admire my local sherrif even more and gives me cause to worry when he retires.
MurphTheSurf3

Funk – “Death to materialism! Hey, anybody see my bluetooth headset, it just fell out of my ear while I was smashing that Tesla!”
AdLib 7 days ago

Murph – All I know has gone where others have not and as I said some of the victims have asked for him. The fact is far too few AA’s with a mic stand up to the injustices in this country.
Sabreen60

Funk–“painful” in the way he shines the light on a different perspective? Or “painful” because…..?
glenn

Glenn, yeah pretty much. Anonymous flags, black lives matter signs, skateboards, black masks, and lots of hilariously slow bleeping from the local newscasts.

Yipe! Probably the same anarchists who destroyed the OWS movement.
AdLib 7 days ago

Funk–not good!
glenn

Murph – This is what I have said for years. First, though, I have been very impressed with the majority of young people. They have been peaceful. However, there is NO Martin Luther King, Jr. There is no “person” leading a non-violent protest. So there will be people who either don’t believe in non-violent protest, are trouble makers or just young and totally unaware.
Sabreen60

Sabreen….saw the full interview with that mom AND her son…..both were honest. Mom was scared and the kid was being a dumb kid….at one point he turned toward her and said “She loves me and does not want me in trouble….she gives me enough trouble by herself”and then he laughed.

AdLib 7 days ago

Funk – All I can say is that I was a real basket case in the ’90’s. I held it together, but I don’t know how. Not only was it the cops it was young black men killing others over drugs. It didn’t matter that my son wasn’t involved with that and that we lived in a pretty good community. You can’t keep a 16/17 yr old boy at home. So he could have been in the wrong place at the wrong time.
