What does multi-dimensions look like?  (Calabi-Yau Model) There are scientific discoveries and then there are scientific discoveries that rock our reality. Some of the major scientific discoveries that changed our perception of reality are listed below more or less chronologically. Fire sure it probably just gave you a good chuckle […]

One of the GOP’s most diabolical tricks is to dumb down any debate in effect making it’s orthodox right wingers believe that any government system that a high school dropout cannot understand is too complex a solution for American’s problems. So they love to put up these complicated looking flowcharts […]

The Hubble Telescope Deep Field surveys into the previously thought darkness of space opened our eyes to how expansive our universe really is. If the following video does not humble you and help you understand what a limited place we take up in the grand scheme of the universe nothing […]

Again we have another faux member of the Democratic coalition (Senator Joseph Lieberman, (I-Conn.)), today claiming Congress should not use budget reconciliation for universal healthcare reform. Well that is flat out BS perpetrated by Republicans and conservative Democrats who do not want to pass real universal healthcare reform.  The truth […]

I previously had thought only conservatives revised history to fit the memes of the modern day but it seems like progressives are playing that game as well. We have all heard the right wing revisions of history like FDR was not successful at ending the Great Depression when the truth […]

Blogs don’t make the evening news; angry mobs do. Is Krugman, like the WH, trying to motivate the “progressives” to take to the streets, and be SEEN as well as heard?

Republican insanity and naked lust for power…with a beat! As disgusting as the right wing claims and frothing at the mouth is, it is even more ridiculous when sung. Check it out!

This weekend President Obama and the Kathleen Sebelius underestimated the public’s passion for the public option not only with progressives but with the mainstream public.  It was simply a major blunder even if they were just trying to launch a trial balloon. This miscalculation may have come off the heels […]

Big Pharma is probably the most important branch of manufacturers that provide healthcare products to the healthcare industry.  Along with universal healthcare reform we need meaningful pharmaceutical company reform.  Drug companies are not worthless middlemen like private healthcare insurance companies that are inherently part of the problem because they provide […]

One overlooked aspect of our disastrous healthcare system is the inherent lack of healthcare security which is a major destabilizing element in millions of Americans lives.  Healthcare insecurity is not just the obvious concern of over 47,000,000 Americans, to the contrary Americans with healthcare insurance, especially the under insured often […]

Well when Huffy first announced it’s creation of an “investigative team” I wondered what it would entail.  It looks like we now know.  They stalk the halls of the White House and talk to as many administration officials as possible to obtain anonymously quotes.  Then the most controversial statement they […]

Profits are a reward for taking risks. How can it be that a company makes a 30% margin being the gate keeper between you and your doctor? Why should a hospital chain make a 30% margin delivering health care? How is that moral?   There is no risk in those businesses. […]

When you take a long shower or relaxing bath, consider that future generations may look back at the freedom to use as much water as one wants as unbelievable. As a result of global warming, drought conditions have intensified all around the world. In the U.S., the west, southeast and […]

The Basic Moral Justification for Universal Healthcare. Healthcare is a fundamental right for all human beings.  In societies that can afford universal healthcare like most in the industrialized world including the US it is criminal for healthcare not to be accessible to all citizens.  In fact it is a crime […]

What a difference having the president in the country makes.

After a tumultuous and uneven week last week this week has been a major perhaps historic step forward on healthcare reform.

Two bills have advanced this week to the general assembly in each chamber of Congress. The three committees working on healthcare reform have joined together to forward a bill for markup to the floor of the House. While the Senate HELP committee in somewhat of a surprised outflanked the Fiance committee and passed a bill on a 13-10 partisan vote.
