Interconnectedness isn't just philosophy, it is the way of the Universe. Balance, harmony, co-existence; they aren't social experimentation. They are survival gear. Balance! If all those billions of species aren't in balance, then the system goes haywire, and previously HARMLESS viruses unite and turn deadly.
We're about to enter 2020 and an unintended irony may be the country having a more perfect vision of the way things really are and of the future we need to head towards. So this weekend's music thread celebrates the coming of the New Year with a theme of songs about beginnings and endings, things new and old, memories and looking ahead to better things.
The New York Times article on Trump's financial dealings was impressively documented, taken from 100,000 pages of public legal and tax documents. "Balance" was hardly to be found. The investigation showed, simply and, "straight from the record," that the Trump family were professional swindlers and tax cheats, to the tune of hundreds of millions of dollars; in sum equal to the GDP of many nations. The "Enemy of the People" stood in Trump's way. They had to be widely discredited. Then ruined financially.
This weekend's music theme is about work and (well-earned) play. Songs about working at anything, whether it's a job, playing music or a relationship and songs about play including traveling, games and anything people do for fun when the workweek is over.
White Southerners are the most passive-aggressive people in the world and you don't even know when they are still fucking with you. I want to shout at people of color to facepalm themselves for not seeing the codes sometimes.
Why would anyone want to place the blame in China, on the other side of the world? Who would benefit from chaos? Who always scapegoats? Let's see? Who should we ask? Who is irresponsible enough to kill a hundred thousand for a diversion that would allow him to eventually declare martial law, and finally suspend the Constitution? That's a tough one!
This weekend, our musical theme is a tribute to Rolling Stones drummer who just passed this week, Charlie Watts. Share music of The Rolling Stones along with your favorite songs from the 1960s and 1970s, the era when the Rolling Stones were known as The Greatest Rock and Roll Band in the World.
PlanetPOV may have had a remodel (try out the rooftop pool with swim-up bar!) but behind the fresh, new look is the same heart and soul of The Planet but with some cool new features!
It's Father's Day Weekend so it's a good time to take some time to share gratitude for fathers who have loved, taught and helped raise their children to be good and kind people. Share songs that are about fathers, children or that you want to send to your father whether he's here or looking down on you.
This weekend's music thread is about distance, songs about being close or far, getting from here to there, going away or coming back.
