Vox Populi, our weekly live chat about the week’s events begins tonight at 7:00pm PST. Hope to see you then!
AdLib 3 hours ago
Hey PPO!
AdLib 3 hours ago
hey Ad. See you soon.
pinkpantheroz

Seeya then!
AdLib 3 hours ago
Bluuuuue Velvet dooo wah doooo.
pinkpantheroz

Here’s a Blue Wave right at you.
AdLib an hour ago
Congrats to Dems. Now, enough with the Pelosi-bashing.
pinkpantheroz

Hi Ad. Hi PPO!
MurphTheSurf3

It’s just the Blue Doggish Dogs mouthing off about Pelosi, they’ll get knocked out in 2020 and Pelosi will be leader…because no one else is running!
AdLib an hour ago
Murph!
pinkpantheroz

Hey Murph!
AdLib an hour ago
So Murph, the Blue Wave is drowning Trump now!
AdLib an hour ago
Praying for rain in California. 1 to stop the fires, 2 to stop /trump visiting!
pinkpantheroz

It certainly is signaling a rising tide around the WH.
MurphTheSurf3

PPO – I hope so, this is unimagineable, these monstrous fires.
AdLib an hour ago
Incredible – so many missing as well.
pinkpantheroz

Hundreds missing…seeing the burned out cars is frightening.
AdLib an hour ago
a dreadful way to die – shivers
pinkpantheroz

PPO Trump gave an interview to Wallace from Fox in which he rambled on and on about how badly managed the brush and trees are in CA. His source was a piece of videotape in which he watched fire fighters raking down brush to keep it from blazing….he dismissed any other cause but mismanagement…..what a moron.
MurphTheSurf3

Yeah, Murph. A Good raking would have prevented it! Riiiight!
pinkpantheroz

Ad…..is there any conversation in CA about what needs to be done to keep this tragedy from happening over and over.
MurphTheSurf3

Murph – I’m sure he’s seen plenty of other footage that undermines his bullshit but he is a simple-minded hateful person who needs to see everything as a hammer to beat on his perceived enemies. And the state of CA has almost completely fumigated the GOP out so it is his enemy.
AdLib an hour ago
Eradicating eucalypt trees would be a start. Imported from OZ for their silver foliage, but full of oil andprone to expplode
pinkpantheroz

PPO ….really!
MurphTheSurf3

Yep
pinkpantheroz

Ad…..yeah…lash out blindly is what passes for engagement for him.
MurphTheSurf3

Eucalyps NEED fire to pop open their seed pods and propagate
pinkpantheroz

Trump is an irrelevance now – a lame duck come Jan, unless he bombs somewhere before
pinkpantheroz

I never knew that….so they have to wait for a fire to reproduce? Does this happen in nature usually?
MurphTheSurf3

Yes. Lightning kicks things off.
pinkpantheroz

There is no easy answer. Taking out trees raises CO2 and makes Climate Change worse, also destroys watershed.
AdLib an hour ago
Trump will be sidelined because he does not have control of the House and does not know how to leverage the White House and Senate to move things….art of the deal….my ass!
MurphTheSurf3

Ad…..don’t forests need to be thinned (nature does it with fire)? How about population free zone with fire breaks?
MurphTheSurf3

Arizona had huge fires, other states have in recennt years. Getting rid of trees won’t solve a climate issue, only make it worse.
AdLib an hour ago
Ad, other trees, like plane and ash, quick growing deciduous, not full of oil
pinkpantheroz

PPO….you seem to have an important angle on this.
MurphTheSurf3

Thinking just of CA, Murph right now. Just a little start to help down the line
pinkpantheroz

Come to think of it, pines act much the same, but I don’t think they are as dangerous.
pinkpantheroz

Murph – Yes, in fact Malibu and those hills that go quite a ways are supposed to have fires, they have since before people lived there, it’s a normal part of the cycle. A very big roblem now is that the over development of housing has put many hoes in natural burn areas. Couple that with the intensified fires due to Climate Change and you have massive disasters like this.
AdLib an hour ago
Ad, are you or any rels near any of the big ones?
pinkpantheroz

Ad….her in Missouri something similar is the building on flood planes but not nearly as catastrophic nor as quick in its finality.
MurphTheSurf3

What is finally happening here is required separation of building from those planes……it is opposed of course but then the next flood comes.
MurphTheSurf3

The Woolsey fire was 15-20 miles away from me, on the first morning, I could see a massive plume of smoke from my backyard, like a nuclear bomb’s mushroom cloud. I’m in the city though so the fire can’t really grow and come this way but I’ve lived in the hills not very far from where it swept through.
AdLib an hour ago
Hi Jenuwin!
AdLib an hour ago
Hell AL and everyone!
Jenuwin

Hey J!
MurphTheSurf3

I love the individualistic part of Americans, living in the forests and all that, but it is deadly nowadays. Just read your note and hope you’re well out of any spark trails or wind
pinkpantheroz

Glad the fires didn’t get to you!
Jenuwin

Hi, Jen. Fixing CAs problems!
pinkpantheroz

Murph – I’ve never seen fires as massive and deadly as these, never seen a potential of hundreds of people killed from them. Whole towns burned through. People caught in their cars driving through a neverending inferno, trying to get out and never making it. Horrible.
AdLib an hour ago
Ad….is there conversation about what needs to be done or is all the energy being consumed by the crisis of the moment?
MurphTheSurf3

Give Trump a rake while he’s there and put him to OMG! Work!
pinkpantheroz

And Trump has the gall to come out to CA while he’s still blaming the state today instead of showing nay humanity for the victims. We don’t want him here,.
AdLib an hour ago
Hey Harleigh!
AdLib an hour ago
Harleigh!
pinkpantheroz

Trump showing up as the forest blaze, having condemned the state for its failure to manage well and expecting to be treated as a King…..jackass.
MurphTheSurf3

So even with the disaters in CA, we can’t avoid politics for one second! Sad!
pinkpantheroz

I hope, Murph, that they ignore his sorry orangemess
pinkpantheroz

Murph – It’s still an ongoing disaster, I don’t think many are ready to shift focus to preventative measures to avoid the next one. I think we’re pretty limited anyway, it’s like trying to prevent earthquakes from happening, fires are a natural occurence in forests.
AdLib an hour ago
PPO…..that is precisely what they need to do…treat as if he matters not….which, in truth, is so.
MurphTheSurf3

And most of the land that’s burning is national park land or privately owned, only a small percentage is owned by the state.
AdLib an hour ago
A Win for Jim Acosta and common sense
pinkpantheroz

Ad…but maybe those forest need to be left without people as permanent residents?
MurphTheSurf3

Hey folks.
Harleigh

Hi Harleigh….
MurphTheSurf3

hi H. How’s things?
pinkpantheroz

Well…..anyway….it looks like Mueller is tightening the noose around this administration’s neck.
MurphTheSurf3

Watching how the dems lost in floriduh. lol
Harleigh

Murph – It’s like the people who keep rebuilding in FL after their homes are repeatedly destroyed by hurricanes. The state would have to buy their land, I supose, and tell them they have to live somewhere else. But there are so many people living in fire-prone areas.
AdLib an hour ago
Orange (County) is the New Blue!!
pinkpantheroz

fires, floods and hurricanes and tornadoes. we cant live anywhere LOL
Harleigh

Ad….yes, I do understand….we have a town nearby that was flooded again and again….rebuilt, again and again. Now, for the first time, land is being purchased by the state as flood plain….which is what it was…..
MurphTheSurf3

H…why the laughter about the dems in FL?
MurphTheSurf3

Trump knows he was a big loser in the election but it took days to seep in through his thick brain and wall of denial. And he lost when Whitaker was exposed as a fraudster and loser, he lost when his own judge gave Acosta back his WH pass and he knows he’s about to lose big in days when Mueller drops another hammer of indictments.
AdLib an hour ago
PPO – Very clever! “Orange County is the New Blue”! Brilliant!
AdLib an hour ago
They just can’t seem to win and now lost to a blatant nazi and Scott, the biggest medicare crook ever. amazing.
Harleigh

When, Mueller, When for god’s sake! CAn’t take much more
pinkpantheroz

no shit ppo
Harleigh

Ad….the word is the Whitaker has been told by officials in the DOJ that he best keep far away from the Mueller work or he will be caught in the same noose for obstruction of justice.
MurphTheSurf3

Murph – Right, the Feds should finance the purchase of land of disaster-prone homes, it would save a fortune but most importantly, save many lives.
AdLib an hour ago
H….what would have been better moves on the Dems part leading to a different outcome?
MurphTheSurf3

Ad…..that would be a good start…..yes.
MurphTheSurf3

The GOP must be changing underwear at a great rate right now. POTUS is useless, McConnell is feeling the hate of his own now as well.
pinkpantheroz

Harleigh – It seems obvious that Rick Scott is as crooked and a proven thief as Kemp is in GA. It was not a fair election in FL and it definitely won’t be under DeSantis in 2020. Dems shouldn’t count on FL being winnable until a Dem can win hugely enough to overcome the cheating in FL.
AdLib an hour ago
I cant think of anything urph. I live in Broward dems are 2 : 1. was not enough statewide to unseat the bad guys.
Harleigh

Ad…I agree with your FL analysis.
MurphTheSurf3

That’s bad, Harleigh. Such optimism there as well . Come on, keep it up till 2020.
pinkpantheroz

Murph – I was thinking the same thing, Whitaker should be terrified of being caught up in obstruction charges if he follows through with what Trump hired him to do. He’s a Repub, I think he’d through Trump overboard in a second if he felt he might go to jail.
AdLib an hour ago
Harleigh…..does Nelson have a chance of getting by Scott.
MurphTheSurf3

Mueller has them all scrambling. Someone noted that all of those brought in so far have ALL pleaded Guilty! dNice!
pinkpantheroz

Ad…I can imagine a conversation between him and a long time attorney there (maybe in the ethics office) in which that attorney plays out a series of scenarios all ending in Whitaker being thrown down the stairs by someone….
MurphTheSurf3

PPO – And the momentum seems to be building against Repubs like McConnell along with Trump. And when the legit charges come out against Trump? Then what will Repubs do? Keep clinging to him as he sinks, I’ll bet. They’re to scared to let go.
AdLib an hour ago
I dope think Nelso or Gillum will win. Weird that the dem AG commish will win. that’s lots of split tickets.
Harleigh

When can they be unsealed, Murph? I don’t know about that part of the US law
pinkpantheroz

H…will Gillum emerge as a statewide leader of the opposition?
MurphTheSurf3

Gillum Will be back.
Harleigh

PPO…..they are unsealed by agreement of the government attorneys and the court usually when other investigations have concluded….
MurphTheSurf3

Harleigh, I hope they’re ALL back, Beto, etc..
pinkpantheroz

As for Mueller, apparently when he was in court today on Manafort sentencing, he said that Manafort’s contributions to his probe will be clearer within 10 days. So probably right after Thanksgiving Weekend…there will be big breaking news from Mueller.
AdLib an hour ago
Thanks, Murph
pinkpantheroz

PPO..I agree
MurphTheSurf3

Murph – And as dumb as Whitaker seems, he may be smart enough to know that Trump would sell him out in a heartbeat.
AdLib an hour ago
Ad, he’s on such tenuous ground already. I won’t be surprised if he quits in a hurry
pinkpantheroz

Ad…..10 days……my goodness…..imagine Trump’s state of mind. Eldest son up to his neck in boiling oil I think….his administration haltered….the high of rallies far behind….and the threat of a House set to go after the White House.
MurphTheSurf3

The Saudi Prince may not be able to travel if a warrant for murder is lodged. Good.
pinkpantheroz

Gillum, Beto and Abrams are star politicians in America, they’re not going anywhere. I discussed this with glenn, Abrams should run for Sos of GA, use her time there to fix and protect elections then run for Gov on a fair playing field. She’d kick Kemp’s ass then.
AdLib an hour ago
Murph – All that winning!
pinkpantheroz

sure he will ppo, he’ll just change his hat and shirt.
Harleigh

Goos ideas Ad. Keep their names up front
pinkpantheroz

Good Plan Ad….in fact, excellent. Abrams for SOS.
MurphTheSurf3

Harleigh!
pinkpantheroz

lol
Harleigh

PPO – Just hope Whitaker’s fear of becoming an indicted crimnal keeps him away from Mueller long enough for the court challenges against the legality of Whitaker to kick him out.
AdLib an hour ago
Ad, I don’t think court challenges are needed, really, are they. Isn’t it obvious and currently illegal for a non-Senate Confirmed person to be AG, even temp?
pinkpantheroz

Sidebar…..my favorite watering hole earlier this week….bar fight between half a dozen patrons over the Prez’s failure to show for the fallen in France or the U.S. Marines regard their engagements in France in WWI as among the most honorable in their history. It was three long retired Marines vs. 7 Trumpers….the Marines won.
MurphTheSurf3

Murph – Where’s the Video? I’d love to have seen that!\
pinkpantheroz

PPO…no video….no one pulled out a phone…..that buys you lots of trouble around here.
MurphTheSurf3

Murph – And beneath all these issues falling in on Trump…he has to have the realization that his lying, racism and whipping up his base…doesn’t work well enough anymore for him to win nationally. Dems win nationally by over 7%, if Trump actually thinks about it, never really rising above the low 40%s and never reaching 50%, how can he win in 2020 when the more he does to rally his base whips up more votes against him?
AdLib 42 minutes ago
OoooooK Murph!
pinkpantheroz

Ad….agree……and I wonder where his favorability ratings are going to go?
MurphTheSurf3

PPO – Trump’s cronies are claiming Whitaker is legal under the Vacancies Act but that’s just wrong and they know it but won’t budge until a court kicks Whitaker out…and that will annoint Rosenstein solidly. I think Rosenstein knows that and is just biding his time.
AdLib 40 minutes ago
Murph, it really doesn’t matter what the ratings are, except to the MSM. Trump is money in the bank, so everything he says, does or doesn’t do will be screamed about ad nauseam because he is a revenue cash cow. Don’t expect much
pinkpantheroz

PPO…we see if Trump remains a rainmaker….he could become a Jonah and dangerous baggage if he hits the low 30’s…..
MurphTheSurf3

been a long week for me so ‘m fading on out. later folks
Harleigh

Murph – Much as I have to restrain my urges to support bar fights against Trump, that is pretty cool to hear! Don’t mess with Marines!
AdLib 38 minutes ago
Well, having solved the climate change, fixed CA’s fire situation and pasted Trump, I better sign off to go shopping. See you all next week and stay Blue!
pinkpantheroz

Ad…I stood by and watched….one of my friends told me that I look far too satisfied by the action.
MurphTheSurf3

SO long to H and to PPO!
MurphTheSurf3

Goodnite PPO and H!
Jenuwin

Murph – Consider, in 2018 when employment is this good and the economy has been solid (though it seems to already be slowing down), Trump has been between 38% – 46%. He can’t even get to majority support now! And after Mueller’s nukes hit him and his cronies and the economy continues slowing, by 2020, he will be a dead weight but the GOP will be tied to him as he goes down…as they should be!
AdLib 36 minutes ago
Ad…Whitaker’s appointment as Sessions Chief of Staff was ludicrous to start and he had no standing in the DOJ because he was clearly Trump’s plant. Naming him “Acting” against statute and precedent makes him anathema in the halls of the DOJ…..I suspect that his allies outside of the hallowed halls are pointing that out to him….Trump will happily sacrifice him.
MurphTheSurf3

Ad…I agree with your analysis.
MurphTheSurf3

Ad and J did you see Stacey Abrams farewell to her campaign???? Marvelous….threw down the gauntlet.
MurphTheSurf3

Since Trump is moronic and single-minded, I don’t know if he’ll figure out that his obvious attempt to obstruct justice using Whitaker will be a long, painful destruction of WHitaker and him. Will he give up and cut Whitaker loose after a Dem House slices him up?
AdLib 33 minutes ago
“Democracy failed in GA.” Not a concession but a call to renewed activism in opposition to obvious corruption.
MurphTheSurf3

Yes Murph, I think it was a singular and historic speech.
AdLib 33 minutes ago
Ad..the moment Whit is of no use, he is chum to be tossed into the water.
MurphTheSurf3

Abrams called out this new Jim Crow for what it is and it was electric!
AdLib 32 minutes ago
But if Trump stays tied to Whitaker, and Whitaker is destroyed, Trump’s stock falls even farther.
AdLib 32 minutes ago
Friends from the 2008 campaign are wondering where the Obamas will fit into all of this.
MurphTheSurf3

Trump sticks by noone who is not family and even that will be tested in the months ahead.
MurphTheSurf3

And if Mueller drops obstruction of justice charges against Trump in his report, and proof of conspiracy with the Russians? What will Repubs do? Trump’s base will stick with him, Repubs will have to go down with him.
AdLib 30 minutes ago
Ad……I think many have stepped onto the glue trap and getting free would requiring gnawing away a limb….
MurphTheSurf3

Murph – Good question, how do the Obamas fit into things today? I do think the fight against gerrymandering and Jim Crow garbage is a good fight for them to continue. And thankfully, with Dems grabbing Governorships in the Rust Belt and elsewhere, so many more states that are in play will have level playing fields for al offices including the WH.
AdLib 28 minutes ago
And Repubs are too cowardly to chew off a limb to get out of the Trump Trap. The GOP will go down in a massive way in 2020. I knew this blue wave would hit this year, I feel very confident Dems will bury Trump and the GOP in 2020.
AdLib 27 minutes ago
Ad….I agree…..Barrack was really energized on the stump and that mission would be worthy of his talents…as to Michele…..women’s empowerment all the way….her voice has just begun to be heard.
MurphTheSurf3

I agree…..How does Romney fit into the picture from your POV?
MurphTheSurf3

Obama and Holder were working together against gerrymandering. They had a couple of victories. Now that WI, PA, MI and even KS can be ungerrymandered, Dems chances of winning in 2020 go up.
AdLib 26 minutes ago
Agreed….Kansas is a neighbor and the anger their against the GOP is at the level of rage……Brownback is persona non grata….
MurphTheSurf3

Romney is a coward and easy at betraying. He will continue to kneel at Trump’s feet until Trump looks like he’s going down, then he’ll turn on him and claim to have opposed him all along. He won’t be “independent” until it’s very safe for him to pull away from Trump. He is slimy.
AdLib 24 minutes ago
Ad….perhaps but representing Utah he has little to gain by being a Trumpeteer….I expect him to lead the limited “loyal opposition” in the Senate.
MurphTheSurf3

But the GOP that Trump has infected would never back Romney in a primary for President. Only an extremist could win in their next primary after Trump and that massive loss is what will either doom the GOP or get it purged.
AdLib 23 minutes ago
What opposition in The Senate?
AdLib 22 minutes ago
I do not expect Romney to go for the Presidency….the opposition will be those who want to survive their next election except in the reddest of states.
MurphTheSurf3

There is no Repub opposition. Flake is worthless, a concern troll. Collins is a fraud. There is no genuine opposition to Trump in the Senate and with Flake gone in Jan, Romney will be spineless.
AdLib 21 minutes ago
McConnell’s Leadership already has that cadaver odor about it.
MurphTheSurf3

We will see but I do not think that a suicide pact is what GOP in the Senate will unify over.
MurphTheSurf3

22 Repub Senate seats up in 2020, only 11 Dem seats. They only have to win 2 plus the WH.
AdLib 20 minutes ago
Ad…which is why I think that the GOP will need an exit ramp from the Trump Highway very soon…thus the loyal opposition.
MurphTheSurf3

Murph – Repubs in The Senate are more like fish in the Trump net, they’re trapped because the Repub base will primary them if they aren’t Trump lovers.
AdLib 18 minutes ago
Ad…..even here in Mo. that Trump base is only as solid as the myth that holds them together…..there are signs among the farmers and small industry workers that their faith in the Trump Mythos is getting shaky.
MurphTheSurf3

The GOP Senate only got more Trumpy after this election, same with the House, the Trumpier Repubs won. They have to go off the cliff with Trump befoe any will get off his crazy train.
AdLib 17 minutes ago
My theory is that Trump’s “winner” image has been very damaged by the results this year and while his faithful will remain racists and fearful, they will be less and less enthusiastic about him and voting in 2020. They won’t turn Dem but they won’t turn out in the numbers they did in 2016.
AdLib 15 minutes ago
Well….this was interesting but I need to head for the door shortly….an early day tomorrow….I see your theory as a valid one and with that reality those members of the Senate in particular will need to build in a way to detach from Trump (members of the House have less wiggle room)
MurphTheSurf3

And after the reality of ueller’s indictments of other Trump cromies and his report showing Trump is a criminal and traitor comes out, and the economy moves back to a less positive level, the enthusiasm for Trump voters will go down while anti-Trump voters will keep rising.
AdLib 14 minutes ago
Again, an accurate assessment I think…..as I watch soy farmers desperately trying to dump their crops I see disillusion spreading.
MurphTheSurf3

After the 2020 election, once Trump is brought down, Repubs will try to change course but their base may not collaborate with them. Maybe they’ll draft Putin!
AdLib 13 minutes ago
And Trump can’t keep bribing farmers with billions and trillions.
AdLib 12 minutes ago
Or Medved! Spineless chameleon.
MurphTheSurf3

Ad….he did not succeed in doing so this time…..
MurphTheSurf3

Heh! Maybe MBS will become naturalized and they can vote for a real dictator.
AdLib 12 minutes ago
Murderous dictator that is.
AdLib 11 minutes ago
What a scenario! Build the Wall!!!!!!
MurphTheSurf3

Nope, midterms are too hard for Russia to meddle and with Dems going after Facebook in the House, their easy manipulation of FB, with FB’s knowledge, won’t happen so easily in 2020.
AdLib 10 minutes ago
And the Russian oligarchs are less and less happy with Trump.
MurphTheSurf3

Russia was so effective in 2016 because we didn’t know what they were doing. Now we know, they won’t have that kind of success again. They have to be hating the Dem House, no easing of sanctions now.
AdLib 9 minutes ago
How easy will it be for a Dem nominee to run on, “Unlike Trump, I will stand up to Putin and defend our democracy!”
AdLib 8 minutes ago
My friends in the UK say that Trumps phone conversation with the Prime Minister was so awful (on Trump’s part) that she shared it with her friends in Europe…..and that they have decided that Trump is beneath contempt…..sure looked like it.
MurphTheSurf3

And I hope we will see a growing association of Russia with the outcome of 2016 which means an association with the GOP…the Russian Party.
MurphTheSurf3

Trump is so hated here but more so, around the world! Not that I want foreign countries involved in our elections but you know the entire world, minus NK, Russia, SA and The hillipines, will be pulling for the Dem to trounce Trump and may contribute however they can through world events.
AdLib 7 minutes ago
The GOP IS the Russian party! And how about the Russian funded NRA losing all over the country and having money problems?!
AdLib 6 minutes ago
Ad….I think so…..Trump seemed friendless in Europe…because he was….AND there is more than a little scuttlebutt making the rounds about how Pence may also not be among his friends.
MurphTheSurf3

2021 may be the year that real gun control is finally passed. The trouncing of the NRA and rise of the #NeverAgain movement is only continuing.
AdLib 5 minutes ago
The NRA is facing a significant budget crunch. Wonder of wonders.
MurphTheSurf3

Trump’s asking around if Pence is still behind him. Wonder if he worries Pence may run against him in the 2020 primary if Mueller destroys Trump’s numbers?
AdLib 4 minutes ago
When you depend on Russian financing and the price of oil tanks…uh oh!
AdLib 3 minutes ago
Pence is not clear of the ax that may be coming for Trump so distance is his friend.
MurphTheSurf3

Well….I must go…this has been fun and enlightening.
MurphTheSurf3

I am hoping this slide in oil prices really grows, it will help regular folks here and elsewhere and pressure Putin intensely. He’s already increased the age for retirement in Russia, what’s next?
AdLib 2 minutes ago
Same here, have a great weekend and congrats! You worked hard this election season and while Claire lost, many good things happened!
AdLib 2 minutes ago
Thanks Ad. I am going to an organizing meeting for the Dems next week.
MurphTheSurf3

Should be fun! We’re on the rise!
AdLib a minute ago
Hope!
MurphTheSurf3
