Vox Populi, our weekly live chat about the week’s events, begins tonight at 7:00pm PST. Hope to see you then!
AdLib 7 days ago
Hey PPO!
AdLib 7 days ago
hi ad settin up. see u soon

pinkpantheroz

See you then!
AdLib 7 days ago

pinkpantheroz

Don’t forget to say “Hi!” or “Everything’s impeachy!” when you arrive!
AdLib 7 days ago
boy, It’s a sticky old day here today

pinkpantheroz

will be a bit Stormy later!

pinkpantheroz

What’s the temperature there? $130 k?
AdLib 7 days ago
So Jimmy Kimmel is going to have Stormy on after Trump’s SOTU.
AdLib 7 days ago
sorry there was a dropout. OK now?

pinkpantheroz

You’re back!
AdLib 7 days ago
Hope so, all is working well on this end!
AdLib 7 days ago
05 degrees here now expect 105 tomrrow, very humid

pinkpantheroz

So, looks like Mueller is closing in on Trump and the obstruction case is loking very solid!
AdLib 7 days ago
sorry 95 now

pinkpantheroz

You’re not getting much of a break out there!
AdLib 7 days ago
yes, but he needs to be protected so trump can’t oust him

pinkpantheroz

Hey Harleigh!
AdLib 7 days ago
Hi H!

pinkpantheroz

Well, He made a fool of himself again in Davos, but what did we expect?

pinkpantheroz

I heard that Mueller can take a firing to court to challenge the grounds. Trump can’t fire him without substantial grounds.
AdLib 7 days ago
No nation’s leader has ever been booed at Davos! Make America Booed Again!
AdLib 7 days ago
Hey. Flu is horrible this year!

Harleigh

Did you have the flu or are you still getting over it, Harleigh?
AdLib 7 days ago
Had it a little and got meds from DR so it wasn’t the devestating hit on me…. lasted 2 weeks and 2 weeks to get going again.

Harleigh

I’ve heard that it can be 2 weeks. You must have gotten the worst flu that’s out there.
AdLib 7 days ago
Didn’t see that yet, Booomers are getting the worst of it. But a number of kids have died too.
AdLib 7 days ago
ine was mitigated by my shot but that stuff really seems to be hard on me. Lots of folks here in floriduh are hospitalized

Harleigh

So do you think Muellers about to drop the hammer on the Trump family?
AdLib 7 days ago
Mueller is gonna slam the shit out of some of these folks.

Harleigh

Yes, it’s no joke, this is a deadly flu. Have read stories of people feeling very bad then dying that night.
AdLib 7 days ago
The Repubs are trying to pull the rug out from under Mueller but they will be crushed even worse for tryng to do so.
AdLib 7 days ago
Hey glenn!
AdLib 7 days ago
something’s going nuts here. sorry

pinkpantheroz

PPO! You’re back!
AdLib 7 days ago
Hey Ad–how are you? Harleigh, glad to hear you’re over the flu.

glenn

yeah…. we gots our seekrit sasyaty

Harleigh

maybe the weather is messing with my internet

pinkpantheroz

secret society password: Covfefe

pinkpantheroz

Or as Harleigh says, The Secret Society is behind it, PPO!
AdLib 7 days ago
PPO–are you sure it’s the weather and not a secret society?

glenn

should be ok now!

pinkpantheroz

PPO–well, since you know the password, you should be good now.

glenn

LMAO

Harleigh

AdLib 7 days ago
You well, glenn?
AdLib 7 days ago
well , the Fool on the Hill did it agaiin in Davos!

pinkpantheroz

Ad–Too funny!

glenn

HarHarHar, Ad!

pinkpantheroz

I am well, Ad, thanks.

glenn

PPO–doesn’t matter where he goes; he’ll always be the fool.

glenn

And…to think Melania missed all the “fun” while she was holed up in a hotel. Wonder if it was a trump hotel.

glenn

Imagine how Trump felt this week, being booed at Davos, exposed for firing Mueller and lying bigly about it and the GDP below even 3% when he promised 4% – 6%!
AdLib 7 days ago
plus wife stayed home and Stormy on all the tawk shows….

Harleigh

Melania wanted to be where the weather was calm and not Stormy.
AdLib 7 days ago
lol

Harleigh

Poor Melanoma. I hear she wasn’t at Mar a Lago. Probably too downmarket for her, like her husband

pinkpantheroz

So…boycotting Trump’s SOTU or watching to see Kennedy’s response?
AdLib 7 days ago
Ad–trump wasn’t booed at Davos; it was the media being booed. And…he didn’t fire Mueller; he only wanted to. And…the GDP did go above 3% once last year.

glenn

Just channeling my inner snark!

glenn

Melania prefers staying where they don’t use plastic spoons for caviar.
AdLib 7 days ago
I’ll wait for Kennedy. I can’t stand the house licking ass at this man.

pinkpantheroz

glenn – You’ve got it down, you could be hired and spy on Trump for The Planet!
AdLib 7 days ago
Ad–I’m not necessarily boycotting the SOTU; I just never listen to any of trump’s speeches. I am looking forward to Kennedy’s response, though. It will be nice to hear someone articulate after listening to trump.

glenn

glenn…. and the Stock Mrket is doung fine. Pity about the Dollar going down the tubes after his remarks

pinkpantheroz

And we can imagine Kennedy running against Trump. He could be the next Obama.
AdLib 7 days ago
PPO–oops, forgot about the stock market; just like all the repubs did the whole time President Obama was in office.

glenn

Good one, Glenn!!!

pinkpantheroz

Ad–it sure would be nice to have a younger Dem run, rather than any more old farts.

glenn

PPO–thanks.

glenn

Aw, look what happened to Steve Wynn’s stock after being exposed as a sexual abuser…you know, the guy who’s a top RNC official:

AdLib 7 days ago
Ad–awww, what a shame.

glenn

sorry, folks, there’s a problem somewhere. connection keeps dropping out.

pinkpantheroz

glenn – Agreed, I would like to see a younger, fresher face but very capable politician as the Dem nom. I like Biden, Bernie, Kerry, etc. but it’s time for a change…as someone used to say.
AdLib 7 days ago
Ad–the problem may be with the Planet, cause I got a message a minute ago that I was being reconnected. I never lost the connection like PPO has, but I still had the message.

glenn

PPO – Just glad you come on back!
AdLib 7 days ago
Ad–I like those men you mentioned, too, but I don’t like them as presidential candidates for the Dems. First of all, they’re all too old, and all three of them have waaay too much baggage.

glenn

glenn – I’ll check it out, don’t know what that’s about.
AdLib 7 days ago
Don’t know much about Kennedy, but I think he’s been in his seat for a while, and I believe he is a very capable politician.

glenn

I’m calling the NSA about the connection… now…. wrong outfit for that side of the border. sorry

Harleigh

Harleigh–did you get dropped too?

glenn

nope.

Harleigh

So, besides Kennedy, who do we like for the Dem candidate for president?

glenn

glenn – Exactly, we need to run someone who doesn’t come off as the same old pol because that’s what Trump can really run against.
AdLib 7 days ago
I’ve seen Kennedy speak on issues, he seems genuinely passionate and very sharp.
AdLib 7 days ago
If trump is still in office in 2020.

glenn

get a small ‘connecting’ signal at bottom right of this page, but have t go out and come back in to get you

pinkpantheroz

I could vote for either of the very serious and knowledgeable women, gillibrand, Warren, Klobachar for starters.

Harleigh

Harleigh, it’s Ajit Pai shutting down Net Neutrality! Bastard!
AdLib 7 days ago
Ad–yeah, I would think any Kennedy would be sharp.

glenn

Kennedy would be OK, would hesitate to nominat a womwn just now… too much baggage from HRC

pinkpantheroz

uh-oh…. content cops….

Harleigh

Harleigh–Who is Klobacher? Don’t know her. What about Duckworth?

glenn

glenn – I know it’s not going in that fresh direction but I do like Elizabeth Warren, I know she can stand up to Trump and swing right back at him.
AdLib 7 days ago
PPO – Got it, it’s the Vox app. Will investigate after tonight’s session.
AdLib 7 days ago
you can imagine the attacks on any of them. Maybe Duckworth. Such courage and Chutzpah

pinkpantheroz

Ad–well Warren isn’t as old as those men; plus she does swing hard!

glenn

Amy Klobuchar, MN Sr Sen.

Harleigh

OK, Ad, just an annoyance. Hate missing out!

pinkpantheroz

glenn – Good point, Trump could be gone by then but assuming he’s not, Dems shoould nominate someone who’s never run before.
AdLib 7 days ago
That doesn’t sound quite right–she does swing hard! Hope you know what I mean.

glenn

Harleigh–and…

glenn

An unfortunate choice of words? Nah, we get it

pinkpantheroz

I like Klobuchar but I don’t think she would be the strongest candidate.
AdLib 7 days ago
Rose! glenn. Popular song here from The Black Sorrows!

pinkpantheroz

Ad–Yup, we should nominate someone who’s never run before because then s/he could say s/he won on her/his first try!

glenn

PPO–yes, definitely an unfortunate choice of words! LOL!

glenn

I do like Duckworth! She’s remarkable but it might be a little early for her. Still, if she ran, it would be cool and who knows?
AdLib 7 days ago
One BIG problem with a man on any ticket with one of those women they will be smaller in stature compared to those women.

Harleigh

Ad–Duckworth is another one who could swing back at trump, or whoever the repub candidate is.

glenn

glenn – Heh! Many Presidents win on their first try, especially Dems. Obama, Bill Clinton, Jimmy Carter, John Kennedy…
AdLib 7 days ago
What a record Duckworth could show. Her Service and huge sacrifice to shut up the Nascar rednecks. Her Service in the Senate. Her baby! Lots of good ammo there.

pinkpantheroz

Nixon ran twice, Reagan did too.
AdLib 7 days ago
I’ve always admired Tammy

Harleigh

Ad–I know; I was just channeling my inner right-winger again. And…trump didn’t even win on his first try; he had run before in 2000, I believe. Dumbass! (Not you…trump).

glenn

Love Tammy’s description of Cadet Bone Spurs.. Palpable hit, that

pinkpantheroz

Harleigh, very true but that would be a good thing of course. Without having the Hillary Clinton baggage to swing around, Trump would be intimidated by running against a woman.
AdLib 7 days ago
PPO–well…here I go again… channeling those right-wingers. The baby might work against her, at least in rw circles. She should be home taking care of that baby and having a home-cooked meal on the table at six every night!

glenn

will the DNC have the will to run a woman again so soon?

pinkpantheroz

Tammy has been getting/giving some shit back to the Dolt regime. Amy has been coming out more. Liz or Kirsten would be my choice.

Harleigh

Yep, Tammy would get right in Trump’s face and take him down. I like her but haven’t heard if she’s interested in running.
AdLib 7 days ago
glenn, Yup, I’d forgotten that, and doin’ the laundry and school runs

pinkpantheroz

glenn – Did you see what that GOP loon in MO said about women? What yoou suggest they may say to attack a woman candidate pales in comparison!
AdLib 7 days ago
PPO–I think if trump is still president (ugh…I hate writing those words, and I hope he isn’t), having to run against another woman would hopefully explode his head. Can you imagine if it really was Duckworth? How many coded references would he make to her disability (even though it’s a disability from bravery).

glenn

however, glenn, aren’t the RW in decline right now? Can the Dems take advantage of Trump’s decline into uselessness to gain ground?

pinkpantheroz

Here’s some of what that moron said: “Of the daughters he envisioned himself having in the future, he wrote that he wanted them to build “home based enterprises.” “I don’t want them [to] grow up into career obsessed banshees who [forgo] home life and children and the happiness of family to become nail-biting manophobic hell-bent feminist she devils,” he said.”
AdLib 7 days ago
Fuckin Tammy all but came back from the dead and went thru all that rehab and is now gonna have a kid….. wow. wow.

Harleigh

Ad–yeah, I saw that; that’s what I was referring to with the dinner comment. We’re all just “snake-headed” or some such thing. It’s never ceased to amaze me that men like that just automatically assume that’s it’s the woman’s “job” to do that. Why shouldn’t I have a home-cooked meal every night, cooked by someone else?

glenn

glenn, I think she would respond to him by saying that, even with a young baby, no legs and a vagina, she’s still do a better job than he!

pinkpantheroz

lol as they used to say ‘fuckin A’. lol

Harleigh

pinkpantheroz

PPO–Oh I agree 100% that the rw is in decline, and that if the Dems did run a woman, that they might be afraid to say some of those things. However, the rightwingers have never been known for their intelligence.

glenn

PPO – I think Dem voters are going to be gender blind in 2020, they just want the strongest candidate to take down Trump (or Pence).
AdLib 7 days ago
PPO–yeah, that’s a great response. Women have always been great at multi-tasking, because we’ve had to be!

glenn

they bloody better be, Ad. Now is the time to harness the resistance to trump and get Dems on the same friggin page, for once!

pinkpantheroz

54% of white female voters voted for Dolt45. put one of our women on the ticket would really bring them back.

Harleigh

Ad–Yup, I really don’t care if the candidate is a woman or a man; I just want the strongest candidate.

glenn

Harleigh–I’m so proud to say I am in the 46%! Most of them voted AGAINST Hillary, not FOR trump.

glenn

Sorry guys n gals. gotta … about to say run… but too hot and humid, so I’ll just pad away. Cheers all.

pinkpantheroz

Name a dem man thats as smart as those women…. think carefully…. Hint; it ain’t me.

Harleigh

The MeToo movement proved how strong women are, the protests last week were massive. We have a Dem senator from Alabama thanks to women. I’m sure they will be carrying a lot f the momentum in 2020 and they’ll be just fine about having a woman as president. May be exactly what’s needed after Trump!
AdLib 7 days ago
PPO–do you think the Dems are on the same page re the Dreamers?

glenn

Cheers! PPO, see you next week!

glenn

nite PPO

Harleigh

glenn, I sure hope so! What a font of votes there!

pinkpantheroz

g’nite all

pinkpantheroz

glenn – Agreed, I just want the best candidate, not even considering gender, race, etc, whoever’s the best deserves the nom!
AdLib 7 days ago
Harleigh–The only one I can think of who is at least their equal is Obama, and he can’t run again.

glenn

Ad–do you anticipate a wild primary?

glenn

Compared to last year women have risen up as a force again and all races etc, organized huge rallys YYUUUGGGEEEE support nationwide.

Harleigh

Ad–a strong woman is exactly what we need after 40-some men, not just trump!

glenn

in 2020, think of all the demographics voting to get Trump out. Women, African Americans, Latinos, students, Baby Boomers, anyone with Obamacare, union members and many in The Rust Belt who lost their jobs…
AdLib 7 days ago
and seniors to protect medicare and SS

Harleigh

Ad–yup, there are a lot of demographics against trump. If trump isn’t running, though, I hope all those demographics remember all those spineless congress critters and other repubs who enabled trump, and vote against ANY republican candidate.

glenn

glenn – I think the Dems will have their biggest field running in their history so the vote will be sliced thin and many candidates will remain in for some time. It will be wild but not like the GOP pig fights in 2016.
AdLib 7 days ago
Harleigh – Exactly, Repubs have said they want to slash Medicare and SS!
AdLib 7 days ago
Ad–I hope the Dems “go high” in their primary and treat each other with respect. Let them show America that we can disagree, but still be civil to one another.

glenn

glenn – A smart Dem candidate will be running as the “Anti-Trump” even if Trump isn’t in office anymore, they are all still stained by being in league with Trum and that will take them down.
AdLib 7 days ago
except floriduh seniors that think they are voting for whoever will keep them from getting kicked to the curb… literally… and then vote repubs! sad

Harleigh

glenn – I can’t think of a single Dem we’ve mentioned who would go low. Yes, there may be some tough slaps here and there as things get tight but nothing outrageus. Dems will remind Americans what it’s like to have conscientious peple running for office.
AdLib 7 days ago
Ad–oh yeah, any Dem candidate who doesn’t mention how repubs turned their backs on the Constitution, societal norms, and civility doesn’t deserve to win. However, the candidate will have to also stress the differences between repubs and Dems.

glenn

If we have one of those women on the ticket 2020 we need to find anther guy with the stature of Obama…. very tall fucking order folks.

Harleigh

Harleigh – Yeah, the 32% of voters out there wh are Trump cultists, including those in every demograhic, are a waste.
AdLib 7 days ago
Ad–I hope you’re correct. The other concern I have is this. In order to differentiate from the other candidates, one candidate may go too far leftward, which

glenn

oops….which will turn off voters.

glenn

glenn – What would be too far left?
AdLib 7 days ago
Harleigh–I agree it’s a tall order, but IMO, Obama “grew” into his stature as president. Don’t get me wrong, I thought he was a great candidate, which is why we all voted for him, but he actually “pivoted” to being presidential while being presidential.

glenn

Ad–not sure yet. Let me think about it for a while.

glenn

Maybe Kennedy for VP, being groomed for President after two terms.
AdLib 7 days ago
yep… and he gave a speech a couple of years earlier and went from nowhere to the top in under 10 minutes. Married, and as accomplished as anyone at that time.

Harleigh

glenn – Obama definitely grew in office, I think all good presidents do.
AdLib 7 days ago
So…maybe there is no “too far left”. I’d like to see Obamacare being fully implemented and funded in every state; I’d like to see sane tax reform; I’d like to see the Dream Act enacted fully; I’d like to see other immigration reform; I’d like to see our VA fully staffed, funded, and well run. Hmmm…maybe there is no “too far left” after all. You made me think and I appreciate it.

glenn

Let’s see what happens with Kennedy after his response to Trump’s SOTU. just hope he doesn’t play it safe and sound like an establishment pol. so over them.
AdLib 7 days ago
sure he grew…. what a guy… serious. Hope one pops up for 2020.

Harleigh

Harleigh–you’re correct; Obama’s DNC speech put him to the top. Perhaps Kennedy’s SOTU rebuttal will do the same for him. We can at least anticipate that a Kennedy will be well spoken.

glenn

This will be Kennedys best opportunity, same timeframe to run in 2020. It could be his Obama moment.

Harleigh

Ad–and Obama certainly was a good president!

glenn

glenn – Maybe some radical who wanted to end capitalism or remake healthcare into fully socialist could come off as too left but none of these Dems would be in that category.
AdLib 7 days ago
Ad–see…you’ve even shown me what could be too far left. Seriously, if any Dem candidate wanted to end capitalism, I’d call him/her a loony.

glenn

very true, Harleigh. maybe Kennedy can make the most of this opportunity and if he won the nom, he’d need to have a woman as VP I think.
AdLib 7 days ago
And…I hope Kennedy drinks plenty of water before his speech!

glenn

They should be able to get a medicare for all passed during 8 years saving mega-billions.

Harleigh

Ad–then we could reverse the scenario that you mentioned earlier. Two terms of Kennedy, with his VP being groomed for being the next Dem president.

glenn

Harleigh–who should get Medicare for all? A Dem president? Hopefully, we’ll have at least a Dem Senate or House by then.

glenn

Exactly glenn, there is such a thing as too far left but it would be more radical than Trumpworld. Dems don’t do crazy and in 2020, that will be very attractive to those exhausted by Trump’s madness.
AdLib 7 days ago
Kennedy has to make this one the best speech ever and his family is known for it.

Harleigh

glenn – If Kennedy reaches for a water bottle or takes a long stroll into view then wishes us a Happy Mardi Gras, I will personally kick his ass.
AdLib 7 days ago
Harleigh–not sure it has to be his best speech ever; but it has to be strong. He’s made some very good speeches during the fight going up to the shutdown and since then, I think.

glenn

You go, Ad!

glenn

And the MAN has to SHOW that he is as large a person as his running mate. Another YYYUUUGGGGEEE task.

Harleigh

Harleigh – Absolutely and after Dems have witnessed how McConnell abused the Senate to cut them out and pass all kinds of abominations, Dems shouldnfeel free to drive right over them and repair Obamacare, repeal the tax cuts and break up monopolies and massive corporations.
AdLib 7 days ago
I still like Ad’s original idea. A woman candidate with a strong man as VP, who could then run for president after Madame President’s second term. Sounds good to me. Again, I think we have to have the best candidate, man or woman, but women are absolutely roaring now, and more than ever before are running for office, so I think it’s a strong possibility.

glenn

glenn – Works for me either way, a man and woman in either office then the next is positioned for two terms.
AdLib 7 days ago
Or, we could just have two strong women as president and VP!

glenn

Put him beside any of the 4 women and he better be able to show they got each others backs. If the women is the top of the ticket then he gets 8 years as VP and 8 as pres. fine by me.

Harleigh

Well, gents, with these positive visions running through my head, I’m going to call it a night. Ad, once again, thanks for making me think through my statements. Have a great weekend and week, and I’ll see you next week. Hopefully, I’ll be able to chat with you, too, Harleigh. Take care!

glenn

glenn – I am fine with two women on the ticket but it may give the Trumpers insecurity and ammo to whip up turnout. for strategic reasons, I think a man and a woman would be most effective and balanced against haters.
AdLib 7 days ago
2 woman ticket?? I would vote for them, any pair of the 4 we’re talking about. Women are organized and pissed.

Harleigh

nite glenn right behind you…. DON’T SHOOT! LOL

Harleigh

Ad–agreed, that may be a “woman too far”, but one can hope. After all, as Ginsberg once said, if we could have an all woman Supreme Court, we could have an all woman exec branch!

glenn

Always a real pleasure chatting with you glenn!
AdLib 7 days ago
G’nite!

glenn

Not saying two women wouldn’t win, just saying it might be more challenging.
AdLib 7 days ago
Night Harleigh! Feel well!
AdLib 7 days ago
thx mon! next week.

Harleigh

Seeya then!
AdLib 7 days ago
