Vox Populi, our live weekly chat about the week’s events begins tonight at 7:00pm PST. Hope to see you then!
AdLib 4 hours ago
Hey PPO!
AdLib 3 hours ago
Hey Ad, just setting up. See you soon.
pinkpantheroz

See you then!
AdLib 3 hours ago
One week of Sanity left!
pinkpantheroz

hey Ad, glenn
pinkpantheroz

Evening, Ad. Hey PPO. How are you both tonight?
glenn

PPO–How is Fergie doing?
glenn

PPO – I haven’t seen sanity since the election campaign started! How about, “The countdown to sanity is finally beginning”?
AdLib 2 hours ago
Hey glenn? Hoow are things your way?
AdLib 2 hours ago
PPO–Sanity is beginning?
glenn

Doing well glenn, loots of rain out here and I’ve enjoyed it.
AdLib 2 hours ago
no – I’m saying only one week of it left before chaos and his mates takes over, as if they haven’t already
pinkpantheroz

It’s amazing, Ad. Last Friday night, it was sleeting and snowing. Tonight it’s 56 degrees. It went up to 73 today.
glenn

glenn – Nope, the 4 year countdown to sanity…or even 2 year countdown if we can take back the Senate, begins next Friday.
AdLib 2 hours ago
Hey FD!
AdLib 2 hours ago
Glad to hear you’re getting rain Ad. I know you all needed it.
glenn

fergie’s fine, thanks glenn. She has a bit of eye problem preventing her from joining us.
pinkpantheroz

Hey all, how goes it?
Fuzzy Dunlop

PPO – I know what you mean but since Trump’s been on the scene, sanity has taken a long hiatus.
AdLib 2 hours ago
Hey Fuzzy, going fine, here. How about you?
glenn

hiya, fuzz!
pinkpantheroz

Just fine.
Fuzzy Dunlop

Ad, there ain’t no sanity clause!
Fuzzy Dunlop

glenn – Wow! Be careful, big temperature shifts can make folks catch colds.
AdLib 2 hours ago
Hey P!
Fuzzy Dunlop

Ad–not only sanity, but common sense, tradition, decorum, and just plain normal have gone the way of the dinosaurs.
glenn

PPO – Hope Fergie’s eye issue is very temporary.
AdLib 2 hours ago
Ad, interesting interaction with LighningJoe last week. What was that all about?
pinkpantheroz

PPO–What did I miss? Who is LIghtning Joe?
glenn

JOhn Lewis is skipping the inauguration. First time since he elected. Can’t say I blame him.
Fuzzy Dunlop

Thanks, Ad. I’ll be careful.
glenn

FD – Sanity Clause knows if you’ve lyin’, he knows if you’re a cheat, he knows if you’ve been bad or worse so begone for goodness sake!
AdLib 2 hours ago
FD–I wish a lot more Dems would skip the inaugaration.
glenn

Ad–LOL!
glenn

flenn, he was unhappy with us at POV using satire. Seemed to mix satire with Fake News and went off his (or her) trolley.
pinkpantheroz

Joe was a commenter here who was on some sort of crusade against “fake news.” That’s fine, but he confused a satirical piece by funk with fake news. He was rather irrational about it.
Fuzzy Dunlop

glenn – It’s like having a zoo animal for president for 4 years, every concept f traditioon goes out the window.
AdLib 2 hours ago
He was tilting at the wrong windmill.
Fuzzy Dunlop

I hear that the suppliers of the porta-potties are masking out their logo – Don’s Johns!!
pinkpantheroz

PPO–Oh, got it. Many of people like LJ can’t seem to understand what fake news actually is. They have no sense of irony, hypocrisy, or humor.
glenn

At the inauguration!
pinkpantheroz

Trump was asked about Golden Showergate, and he said, “Well, there were micturating cricumstances.”
Fuzzy Dunlop

PPO – LightningJoe apparently thinks that the way to stop fake news is to take away freedom f expression from everyone. You know, the Progressive way. Via a drunken Rube Goldberg.
AdLib 2 hours ago
FD, ‘They’re just pissing into the wind”
pinkpantheroz

Never a wise move, P.
Fuzzy Dunlop

FD–Did you get to watch Steven Colbert’s piece on trump’s golden shower? He used every pun possible; it was hilarious!
glenn

glenn, missing a lot of US news. they’re shoing Tennis here!
pinkpantheroz

NO, I’ll have to catch it on youtube. I’m sure he came up with some good ones.. So did Samantha Bee.
Fuzzy Dunlop

FD – Lewis should have some company, Trump disrespects the office of President, he shouldn’t receive any respect when he wants it.
AdLib 2 hours ago
Hey Murph!
AdLib 2 hours ago
Howdy.
MurphTheSurf3

I couldn’t agree more, Ad. Trump is NOT a legitimate POTUS.
Fuzzy Dunlop

Que pasa, Murph?
Fuzzy Dunlop

Hi Fuzzy! Great name…
MurphTheSurf3

Ha! Thanks! Used to be Killgore!
Fuzzy Dunlop

Ad–well in that sense LJ agrees with trump. If he doesn’t agree with the news; then it’s “fake”. Then, the next order of business is to tweet nasty things about it; and insult the person giving the news; then demand an apology. Seems to be the new norm for dealing with the press nowadays.
glenn

I feel sorry for all the foreign diplomats who’ll have to lie for their country and make like they are happy to be there. And then to shake those little hands..Yeuch!
pinkpantheroz

Kilgore Trout was great too!
MurphTheSurf3

LJ seemed like someone who had unwanted guests so he burned his house down.
AdLib 2 hours ago
Hey Murph–how are you doing?
glenn

Thanks Murph. Kurt Vonnegut is responsible for that one.
Fuzzy Dunlop

FD – Trump was asked, “Now that urine the White House, what will you do?”
AdLib 2 hours ago
Hi Glenn….I was in Chicago for the President’s Farewell Address with a dozen or so fellow 2008 campaigners. What a night. rousing and reverent at the same time.
MurphTheSurf3

His number 1 priority is to get to the bottom of it all.
Fuzzy Dunlop

Murph–very cool! There is no one who can give an emotional, yet rousing, speech like our still POTUS.
glenn

He thinks that POTUS means ‘Piss On The United States’
pinkpantheroz

Well P, he’s doing a fine job of that.
Fuzzy Dunlop

God knows what they’ll make of FLOTUS!
pinkpantheroz

So, will Melania be at the inaugaration? Or will the new first lady be Ivanka?
glenn

LOL!
Fuzzy Dunlop

PPO–which FLOTUS? Melania or Ivanka?
glenn

FLOATUS?
Fuzzy Dunlop

Well, we’ll have to ask the Don. Didn’t he say that he’d love to date his daughter?
pinkpantheroz

glenn – What blew LJ out of the water froom the start is that Funk ended his post stating that it was satire. When it was stated to him that it was already there, he just ranted on. I learned long ago that party doesn’t determine self-awareness, just because someone’s a Dem doesn’t mean they’re not capable of being as blindly misguided as a Repub.
AdLib 2 hours ago
FD–Oooh–good one. Took me a minute to get it. I almost embarrassed myself and asked you to explain!
glenn

I wonder if LJ was actually a dem, or even liberal. I’ve never heard a liberal call for violating the 1st amendment.
Fuzzy Dunlop

PPO – I wonder if diplomats will be doing a lot of winking to acknowledge that they’re obviously lying?
AdLib 2 hours ago
Ad, crossed fingers by the ton.
pinkpantheroz

brb coffee break!
pinkpantheroz

PPO–Seriously doubt that LJ is a progressive/Dem. Sounds like he was just playing one on the internet.
glenn

I still keep thinking I’m asleep and will wake up and see this has all been a bad dream.
Fuzzy Dunlop

Ad–Well they can always cross their fingers as well as their legs!
glenn

FD – LJ could be a Repub for all I know. I remember him doing similar things in the past.
AdLib 2 hours ago
FD–I know. I still cannot believe that this clown is going to be president. Also, I can’t believe that repubs are doing their level best to dismantle the ACA.
glenn

That shitheal Jaffitz is doing his best to get rid of the Congressional Ethics Committee. Yeah boy, these clowns are real patriots alright. More like Benedict Arnold.
Fuzzy Dunlop

BRB…
AdLib 2 hours ago
I think they’re basically telling us, in no uncertain terms, that they’re going to take as much as they can from the American people and there is nothing we can do about it. Their goals are so obvious.
Fuzzy Dunlop

FD, …. and make a ton of money from it. Utterly amoral, the lot of them.
pinkpantheroz

No doubt in my mind, P.
Fuzzy Dunlop

FD–I agree. They are doing all they can to show us their “true colors”. I wonder how long it will take before the people who voted for them are fed up. Of course, I live in a red state, and we have a red legislature, and they keep getting voted in, so I think we’re in for some weird times.
glenn

FD – You are asleep…but you will be for 4 years.
AdLib 2 hours ago
Who is LJ?
MurphTheSurf3

Or, as PPO says, some amoral times.
glenn

ad, if only you were a hypnotist!
Fuzzy Dunlop

well, vaGhyna and North Korea, not to mention pal Vlad the ImPutin must be rubbing their hands at the thoughts of invading Europe, South Korea and elsewhere.
pinkpantheroz

Lightning Joe. A “former,” commenter who wanted us to dumb down this site to a TRumpian level.
Fuzzy Dunlop

Murph–read above to find out about Lightning Joe, otherwise known as LJ.
glenn

Did you all see Rep.. Lewis and Todd interview today in which Lewis declares that Trump is not legitimately a president. A hue development.
MurphTheSurf3

Hey was a real Don Quixote type, waving his sword at windmills, thinking they were monsters.
Fuzzy Dunlop

Lewis is basing this on his belief that the election was influenced by the Russian for Trump.
MurphTheSurf3

Saw that Murph, loved it. I have tremendous respect for John Lewis.
Fuzzy Dunlop

What I find the most appalling about trump supporters is all the lies, rumors, disrespect they told about and showed to President Obama, yet they wet their pants and scream bloody murder if someone says something true about trump!
glenn

And there is growing sentiment that Trump and/or his people cooperated with this.
MurphTheSurf3

That’s because they’re all emotional children, glenn.
Fuzzy Dunlop

Murph–it seems like a huge development, but truly, what can be done about it?
glenn

Do you think we shoould host a live chat here for the inauguration or will folks here not be watching?
AdLib 2 hours ago
I want to see Trumpo’s tax returns. People should not let him continue to get away with not releasing them.
Fuzzy Dunlop

FD–ain’t that the truth? They have about the developmental age as their “leader”, which is about 7.
glenn

Murph, read Funk’s hilarious article, ‘Bi-Partisan solution to repeal of Obamacare Emerges.’
pinkpantheroz

I won’t be watching Ad. I just can’t do that to me psyche.
Fuzzy Dunlop

Ad–I won’t be watching, nor do I want to chat about it. Not being rude, but I really don’t care what he says or does on that day. I’ll have to care after he’s sworn in, but I really don’t want to watch that happen. I’m going to be an ostrich that day and bury my head in the sand…or somewhere.
glenn

I would have to bleach my eys and ears, and brain.
Fuzzy Dunlop

My first reaction is to pull a John Lewis and boycott it.
AdLib 2 hours ago
The FBI Director meeting with Dems seems to be linked to this matter.
MurphTheSurf3

To which matter, Murph?
AdLib 2 hours ago
The Justice Department is taking a good hard look at Comey, as they should.
Fuzzy Dunlop

Ad….I will not be watching. I am planning on doing something meaningful….watching a Green Acres marathon.
MurphTheSurf3

Ad…the link of the Russians to the Trump campaign.
MurphTheSurf3

Hey, that Arnold the pig is a great actor!
Fuzzy Dunlop

I’m with you, glenn. We’ll see nauseatingly enough on the news anyway. Like any nasty operation, I don’t want to know while it is on, just when it is over.
pinkpantheroz

And then we have the Former MI6 compiled Trump Dossier.
MurphTheSurf3

I hope the inauguration goes as well as Trumpo’s recent press conference.
Fuzzy Dunlop

Could this election have been any more undermined for its legitimacy? Russia hacking, Trump in bed with Russia, the FBI and Comey dropping a phony charge against Hillary just before the election. Trump has no mandate and less people than back to the 2000 race believing his winning wasn;t tainted.
AdLib 2 hours ago
what another fiasco.
Fuzzy Dunlop

Maybe we’ll be lucky if he has a nervous breakdown in the first week, when it all crashes home on him.
pinkpantheroz

brb
pinkpantheroz

There is nothing we can do constitutionally if it turns out that Trump was conspiring with Russia’s hacks of the US. He still gets to be Pres as long as Repubs run The House and refuse impeachment.
AdLib 2 hours ago
I really want to see Kellyanne Conway go down in flames. Carl Bernstein called her the Propaganda Minister. Miss Goebbels, if you will.
Fuzzy Dunlop

How about a good old fashioned espionage charge, hey Ad?
Fuzzy Dunlop

I am beginning to believe the dossier is legit….the former spy has good credentials, he decided to set aside the contract he had with U.S. employers to get the dossier to the FBI through McCain. The FBI chose not to make this known even as it was making a lot known about Clinton. The spy has now disappeared. David Corn has the most info but Rachel Maddow is now hot on the trail.
MurphTheSurf3

PPO – You’ve identified my game plan (and probably that of many others). Get under Trump’s skin and let him explode in the public eye. He and Repubs will be destroyed in future elections and we can fix the damage.
AdLib 2 hours ago
I think it’s telling that Trump warned about tiny cameras in hotel rooms. How would he know such a thing, if he hasn’t encountered them?
Fuzzy Dunlop

Rachel is very thorough.
Fuzzy Dunlop

Who would have guessed back in the days of Reagan and “Tear down this wall!” that Repubs would happily embrace a Russian stooge as President.
AdLib 2 hours ago
The worm has turned, Ad. Bigly!
Fuzzy Dunlop

THE GOP has now agreed to investigate it all….that is a CYA move….seems to make it clear that there is something afoot given how fast the GOP position has changed since this morning.
MurphTheSurf3

What happens when all his loand get called in?
pinkpantheroz

loans
pinkpantheroz

Trump has absolutely been compromised, im my opinion. That’s one reason he won’t reveal his tax returns. Too many big money deals with Russian bankers.
Fuzzy Dunlop

I know it’s not proven completely but don’t his pro-Russian stands make much more sense if one imagines Putin had all kinds of compromising video on him? And might Putin have been working this angle for a long time?
AdLib 2 hours ago
Murph–I’m afraid that the GOP “investigating” this will come to nothing. Nothing to see here, folks, now can we get on with dismantling every social safety net?
glenn

Hey is ex-KGB! They know how to get what they want, one way or another.
Fuzzy Dunlop

PPO–his sons will deal with his loans being called in.
glenn

Glenn….I think they may be forced to cut their losses.
MurphTheSurf3

Murph – I agree with glenn, the easiest way for Repubs to sabotage the investigation of Trump is from the inside.
AdLib 2 hours ago
Murph–but, how? Do you really believe they’ll impeach trump? I don’t. And, if they do, then we’re stuck with Pence, who may be worse. The only good thing about Pence is he at least has government experience.
glenn

Trump has attacked the intel community, and that is never a good move, even if one IS president.
Fuzzy Dunlop

Ad…..there is too much boiling and I think that they may be realizing that the center will not hold. Time to set up an exit strategy. From never trump to no more trump.
MurphTheSurf3

Pence is Trump’s anti-impeachment insurance.
Fuzzy Dunlop

His family is still running his business. Who isn’t going to know, when considering deals with them, that their father is an owner of the company and President. The morons who voted for him voted to fill the swamp, not drain it. Sorry but they are moorons.
AdLib 2 hours ago
FD–but he’ll just fire all the intelligence members, like he did with all the foreign service officers, and the head of the National Guard.
glenn

Pence would not be a positive force but he would not be the black a-hole that Trump is.
MurphTheSurf3

Ad…and Chaffetz is threatening the ethics officers.
MurphTheSurf3

FD–that’s what everyone has been saying from the day of Pence’s nomination.
glenn

Elizabeth Warren devastated Benny Carson. Carson couldn’t say outright that his decisions at HUD would not enrich the president or his family.
Fuzzy Dunlop

Ethics are only for dems when they’re in power. the GOP? We don need no stinking ethics!
Fuzzy Dunlop

Plus, Carson says he will not do anything that will benefit the American people. So, pray tell, why is he being vetted for a cabinet position? Isn’t the government supposed to be for the benefit of the American people? I just couldn’t believe that quote!
glenn

As I mentioned earlier…I went to Chicago for the Presidents Farewell address….Obama is far from done and the same can be said of those who gathered there to renew their commitment to his ideals.
MurphTheSurf3

Murph – I don’t know. What we’ve seen is that Ryan, McConnell, the leaders and followers in the GOP, are afraid oof upsetting Trump voters and being primaried. I don’t think they would ever impeach him, anymore than they blocked him at the RNC from the nomination.
AdLib an hour ago
Trump should not be allowed in office until he creates a real BLIND Trust.
Fuzzy Dunlop

Murph–I hope you’re right. But, I think we’re looking at a juggarnaut (sp?) right now, and I’m not sure it can be stopped.
glenn

Ad….those same Trump voters will turn as the story unfolds….
MurphTheSurf3

Wow. this time next week is gunna be interesting, to say the least. Do we know how many redneck hilllbillies will sing at the gig? Wonder how many will be at all the Ball?
pinkpantheroz

PPO–will Melania and Ivanka wear golden dresses?
glenn

Did any of you see the Quinippiac poll on Trump….his numbers are slipping across the board and big time…..
MurphTheSurf3

Trump has always been his own worst enemy. I don’t see that changing. He’ll do something outrageous, even in his supporters eyes. He’s already going further down in approval ratings. And he isn’t even POTUS yet.
Fuzzy Dunlop

I owe you a coke, Murph.
Fuzzy Dunlop

Malaria will borrow that dress from the Oscars years ago made up entirely of American Express Gold Cards.
pinkpantheroz

Why FD?
MurphTheSurf3

Murph–I have to agree with Ad. I don’t think the GOP is going to do a damn thing about trump. They are so drunk with power right now that they think they can’t do anything wrong. No matter what the majority of the American people say in polls or anywhere else.
glenn

glenn, that’s the truest – and saddest – observation f all.
pinkpantheroz

If Trump is shown to have been colluding with an enemy power to gain election….even GOP stalwarts will run for the hills.
MurphTheSurf3

If they take away healthcare and privatize Medicare, they’re finished. Even repubs don’t want those programs messed with. There are many repubs on Obamacare. Talk about a third rail.
Fuzzy Dunlop

We all know that cover ups make things worse….and the GOP leadership knows this…or at least they will be forced to face it.
MurphTheSurf3

Murph, No they won’t. They’ll blandly say it made no difference anyway and the sheeples will trot faithfully behind.
pinkpantheroz

Repubs are co-arsonists, working with Trump burn down all ethics and safeguards in governemnt.
AdLib an hour ago
I think that is, at least, espionage, Murph, if not outright treason.
Fuzzy Dunlop

PPO I disagree. This is Russia…which every one of Trump’s appointees in that line of work have condemned.
MurphTheSurf3

Murph, you’ve got a point!
pinkpantheroz

i want to see Comey forced to resign, in disgrace.
Fuzzy Dunlop

Right on, FD!
pinkpantheroz

Murph–I don’t think it will make a bit of difference to the gop if trump is shown to have colluded with Russia. They will just say it’s all lies made up by people who hate trump. Even if Putin himself said trump colluded with him, repubs will just call Putin a Democrat. We are living in such extreme times now, I don’t think any amount of evidence will sway the gop from their dream of holding all branches, especially their dreams of the SCOTUS and dismantling the social safety net.
glenn

When I went to Chicago I had an extra ticket so I invited a GOP friend….a Trump voter….he went out of curiosity…and came back impressed. He admitted that Trump is weak beer compared to Obama’s stout.
MurphTheSurf3

My pcks for the weekend: Patriots, Steelers, Green Bay and Seattle.
pinkpantheroz

My Pats are going to the Super Bowl. I have no doubt.
Fuzzy Dunlop

Glenn…there are GOP who want to lead the mob carrying torches….McCain, Graham, Rubio. They hate Trump and want him crucified.
MurphTheSurf3

Murph–saying that trump is weak compared to Obama is much different than saying trump colluded with Russia. And, even if the majority of people believe it; I don’t think the leaders in the GOP will do anything about it.
glenn

I really want Mitch McConnell to go down in flames too. Almost literally.
Fuzzy Dunlop

Murph – I do agree that a chunk of Trump voters will turn on him. He will be the most hated Pres since Bush. Timewise, it’s not big but who would have imagined this feat possible?
AdLib an hour ago
Murph, they’re too late. They’re stuck with him now, and its all their own fault. Especially McCain, who has now backed the wrong horse in 2 elections!
pinkpantheroz

Murph–I truly hope you’re right; but so far McCain, Rubio, and Graham have done nothing but talk.
glenn

FD–McConnell, Ryan, and Conway should all go down in flames, literally!
glenn

Talking is the start, organizing is next, and then action. Trump is a disaster….for everyone.
MurphTheSurf3

miss Linsey needs to go too, and Ryan.
Fuzzy Dunlop

And Chaffez too.
glenn

A Pox on all their houses!
pinkpantheroz

Pepe the Frog glenn. Caffetz was the model for Pepe.
Fuzzy Dunlop

Murph–do you really think they’ll fight the rest of their party?
glenn

FD…..Graham is proving to be a thorn in Trump’s side.
MurphTheSurf3

more than lip service?
Fuzzy Dunlop

Murpg, but what can one voice do in the cacophony of crap?
pinkpantheroz

Glenn….no honor among thieves and if they are endangered they will toss him to the mob.
MurphTheSurf3

good weed helps a bit.
Fuzzy Dunlop

Murph – I do question if Repubs will allow any damaging info out into the public. It could be leaked though…only if they legitimately investigated which I’m not counting on. CIA though may leak info which in this case, woould be a matter fo patriotism. But Trump’s core supporters were fine with him being a sexual assaulter, a bigot, a liar, you name it. They will justify anything and refuse to believe any facts against Trump.
AdLib an hour ago
Good one, PPO…the cacophony of crap!
glenn

PPO McCain and Graham are senior senators….they control committees…..they can do a lot.
MurphTheSurf3

The noise of nihilism?
Fuzzy Dunlop

I don’t trust Graham, at all.
Fuzzy Dunlop

The irony is that all these Trump voters claimed they wanted to change DC but voted back in all of these same Repubs into Coongress whoo have made it so bad. What we really need is a huge anti-incumbent wave to sweep out McConnell, Ryan, Chaffetz, etc.
AdLib an hour ago
Crapcaphony?
AdLib an hour ago
Ad….TRUMP’S core is not enough………and the intel community is gunning for him…..I expect the GOP will toss him overboard if that saves them.
MurphTheSurf3

Murph–but as long as the rest of the party supports trump, I don’t think McCain, Rubio, and Graham are endangered, even if they do speak against trump, or even if they take some kind of action. They are going to need the rest of the House and Senate to go along with whatever action they decide to take, and as I keep saying, the repubs aren’t going to give up power that readily.
glenn

i saw a Trumpie with the screen name, “eattherich.” I asked him if he was going to eat Trump.
Fuzzy Dunlop

On another matter….I am organizing an Indivisible Group here. Do you all know about this?
MurphTheSurf3

I know what indivisible means.
Fuzzy Dunlop

And, once again, I hope that you’re right, Murph. I just am so pessimistic right now that I can’t see it happening.
glenn

We may never see it, and they may never admit it, but I’d love to be a fly on the wall when it finally penetrates even the slowest of Trump supporters that they made a YUUUUGE mistake, and they won’t have Medicare, Food stamps, Social Security or any crutches very soon.
pinkpantheroz

Murph–no, tell us more.
glenn

No, this is the movement. 3000 groups so far.

https://www.indivisibleguide.com/

Indivisible: A Practical Guide for Resisting the Trump Agenda
Former congressional staffers reveal best practices for making Congress listen.

MurphTheSurf3

Murph – Agreed on first two points but don’t know about the 3rd. They didn’t dump Trump when he was on video affirming he sexually assaults women…I don’t know that they have any principles left.
AdLib an hour ago
thanks for the tip Murph. I’m going to check it out.
Fuzzy Dunlop

Yeah, me too, Murph.
glenn

Fuzzy – It is almost a definition of Trump supporters that they are aggressively clueless.
AdLib an hour ago
I don’t know that they had any to begin with, Ad.
Fuzzy Dunlop

My group is going to visit four Congressional offices here in association with the MLK days next week. 25 of us so far. Half of them are GOP.
MurphTheSurf3

No doubt. Laughingly so.
Fuzzy Dunlop

that’s encouraging, Murph.
Fuzzy Dunlop

Murph, this is one of the times I’d love to be able to visit the US and join you. Sounds brilliant.
pinkpantheroz
