Okay Cher, those last two links just about did me in. First the eel’s little “adventure” and then the story about Gertrude Stein. I have to say I really didn’t believe it until I got toward the end of the article and the facts started piling up. Gertrude Stein and Alice B. Toklas — protected by and sympathetic to the Nazi’s and Franco? There’s got to be more to this story. I’ve long been an admirer of her and it’s hard to accept this disclosure.

You know what Cher? I think this is the perfect size for the DP. A lot of past issues had many redundant stories in it. I think you can dial back the content and still deliver a thorough picture of the political and social landscape.

I think you could save time, give more focus to important issues, and still deliver the best damn progressive newspaper on the internet.

But I also realize there are A LOT of big things going on right now and many different angles on it. And I appreciate every minute spent to bring it all together.

No comments today. Another learning issue for me.

Cher, I hope all is well with you.

Due to the fact that I am a superficial person who is also, unfortunately, drawn to medical oddities, I immediately headed to the eel-in-the-bladder story. Ewwwwwww. And — why am I not totally buying Zhang Nan’s version of this story?

I used the “fasten your seatbelts” line in a response to Caru’s comment earlier today — even before I hopped over to the DP. But then, what else is new? Were we separated at birth?

Hey Cher – this is still utterly awesome, and these headlines are fine!

I jumped on the WSJ – Obama won’t touch Social Security… They print that as if it’s a BAD thing!!!

Thanks for ALL this STUFF and know, please, how much we appreciate it! You have become my reference library. I cull stories daily, forward them to my work email, and then file them for the educational work I do for our members. It means the world to me to have such great stuff thanks to all your hard work!

Be well – this is nothing to apologize for! Thank you!
