It’s finally here, Election Day 2010, the day when informed citizens vote for candidates that represent their interests while others vote Republican.

Will the pundits and the publicized meme that Dems won’t turn out and lose big be correct or might tonight have a few positive surprises in store for the Dems?

Please join us for Election Day 2010 here at The Planet. There are two ways that you can participate, by sharing your Election Day thoughts, experiences and reactions posting on this thread AND by joining our Election Day Live Chat, open all day. To chat live with your fellow members, you can use the chat box in the sidebar on any page or go to the Live Events page where you can chat while watching live newscasts (newscasts begin in the evening). We will add live news video from different sources on this post and on the Live Events page as they become available.

And of course…don’t forget to vote!

PBS NEWSHOUR – Begins 7:00 pm PDT / 10:00 pm EDT

Khirad I got this in my mail from Gabby’s Campaign.

Well, this is a close election – as we knew it would be. We have been in the lead since the polls closed, and what we are waiting for now are thousands of early ballots that were walked into those polls on Election Day.

We are optimistic that our roughly 2,500-vote lead will hold and we will win. It has already held strong through returns from Marana, Cochise County and Saddlebrooke. And we won the early ballots by over 10,000 votes.

We will learn more over the next day or two and will keep you updated.

She truly is a student of the Palin.

First of all, what the hell was Lady Lynn Forester de Rothschild doing on an MSNBC panel today bashing Obama (again)? Yes, like she knows what “middle America” is thinking. 🙄

Secondly, Hamsher – just go away – I really don’t care what you have to say.

Thirdly, SE Cupp really needs to stop being such a RW tool when she speaks. It’s a total turnoff. 😛

Hamster on the telly: They lost because they weren’t progressive enough.”
Do I sound like a broken record? Maybe I should write a C&P for this:
look at the record number of filibusters, secret holds, no votes on the by the R’s!!! From the very moment he was elected.

I call jinxies.

Saw that, Khirad, but I didn’t put her picture up! 😆

Well, that pretty much went as expected.

OK, “undecideds,” have fun watching the Republicans try to actually legislate.

60% of “independents” voted for Obama in 2008. 60% of “independents” voted Republican in 2010. Go figure.

We need a Moderately Fickle Party in this country.

I’m kinda tired of them as wishy-washy kingmakers.

(mostly kidding, partly not)

I don’t know what I want but I want more of something if it isn’t exactly like the other thing or maybe it should be different. Now, damn-it, and right now, I think.

Two of twelve House races not called are right here.

Giffords has slim lead; Grijalva in a tight race

Uggggh…

Oh thank god, I think they’ve got it.

Murray leads Rossi on strong King County vote

But, this could last much longer. Rick Larsen (up on the Canadian border above Seattle), is barely hanging on. My old district lost, but not as big as I’d though it would.

Buck, Bennet deadlocked in Senate race

Fortunately, those to be counted are mainly from Denver and Boulder.

http://www.oregonlive.com/politics/index.ssf/2010/11/oregon_governor_election_resul.html

Oregonian gubernatorial race shows most votes left to be counted in that tight race are from Multnomah County. Translation for you guys: that’s Portland. Also, Oregon’s 5th stayed Democratic (that’s around Salem to the coast), a seat leaning Republican in the polls.

Looks like Murkowski will pull this one through.

http://www.adn.com/2010/11/02/1532963/senate-drama-could-just-be-beginning.html

And, though I never root for Republicans, this being Alaska, and this being a stab through the heart of Palin, I must admit I’m pulling for her in an enemy of my enemy sort of way. – Did y’all know Miller supporters registered themselves as write-in candidates to make the list of write-in candidates four pages long?

Also, statewide we’ve done away with Affirmative Action, pre-empted card check and are opting out of HCR! Yay, and Phoenix is about to get even whackier.

Bito, Terri Proud got the most votes! My god, how stupid are people? She should be let nowhere near either a stapler or sharp implements of any kind, let alone governance! I think Vic can keep her occupied by bringing a shiny cat toy to legislative sessions to prevent her from doing too much damage, hopefully.

If “she is you” – then a majority of District 26 voters are “a little slow” to put it kindly. She makes Christine O’Donnell look like a brain surgeon. Hell, she almost makes Jesse Kelly look smart. Almost.

That Alaska is a mess.

Khirad

Are you referring to the election, or just making a general observation? 😉

bito

Khirad, they still haven’t called Gabby’s or Raul’s races.

Khirad

Not officially, no. But all precincts have reported except for one in Pima – 99.72%.

I’m getting nervous they haven’t called either of them, as they could go to recount. I’m not celebrating early, but, as it stands… …I’m trying to stay positive, is what I’m trying to say…

Update: Crap.

Hey Bit’o et al!

I’ve been a Headless Mike the Chicken of late – not knowing where I’m “headed” next. The Blov and I worked phone banks. Now I feel like crawling under the bed and hiding for 2-3 days.

I still think White will carry the metro areas of Texas. We’ll see.

I’ll peep in now and then. No TV – only Little Mosque on the Prarie or Malcolm in the Middle tonight. Tomorrow I awaken as a goose, in a brand new world.

I’ll write you an email soon, Bito. Time is a short commodity at present. did you get the last one w/ photos of Baby Girl? I had read of the server crash, so I can resend to you if needed. -AB

bito

Hey AB, Thanks for the pics, I should have written you back sooner. What a cutie!!
It would be such a giggle if White won!! How long can Perry stay in office? Forever?
Take care, girl.
