• Blues Tiger : you too AdLib..

  • AdLib : Well, looks like it’s about time to end tonight’s edition of Vox Populi. Thanks BT for joining in tonight, have a great weekend!

  • AdLib : Sleep well Patsy! So nice seeing you!

  • Blues Tiger : Nite PT

  • PatsyT : Well I am fading …. I will have to say Farewell….. Have a wonderful Evening !

  • Blues Tiger : The allegations are this church actually participated in raising funds for her

  • AdLib : BT – There’s the rub, only someone with an axe to grind would report their church for endorsing candidates in a service.

  • AdLib : tax

  • AdLib : Patsy – I know, they hand out voter guides at many churches too. But technically, it is against the law for a church to engage in political activity if they want to keep their taz exempt status.

  • Blues Tiger : who wants to be known in a small town or anywhere as the guy who took out a church over politics

  • Blues Tiger : but think about it

  • Blues Tiger : they do it alot PT

  • PatsyT : Bye Bye tax exempt status !

  • Blues Tiger : A church here is in some trouble for endorsing Sally Kern

  • PatsyT : AdLib they kinda already do It is really scary in those Mega Churches

  • Blues Tiger : Thats what I don’t get in AZ,Hayward is connected to the Abramoff scandal… What chance does he have to be an effictive rep if he wins?

  • AdLib : As for TP’s Sharron Angle: “Republican Sharron Angle believes the clergy should be allowed to endorse candidates from the pulpit and opposes laws allowing gays to adopt children, according to a questionnaire by the Nevada Senate hopeful that was obtained by The Associated Press.”

  • Blues Tiger : So far their 2 big candidates haven’t proven to be the sharpest knives in the political drawer

  • AdLib : From Wikipedia: Istook received $29,000 in campaign contributions from Abramoff and some of his clients. Istook wrote letters urging the Bush administration to reject a casino proposal that Abramoff’s clients opposed.

  • Blues Tiger : I think he is connected to them PT

  • PatsyT : Istook ? Is that the guy from Heritage Foundation?

  • AdLib : BT – That’s because the GOP plan is to always act as the victim. When it comes to race, it’s white people who are being victims. Taxes, it is rich people being victims. And so on and so on. Apparently, the victim mentality appeals to the poorly educated and financially desperate people who follow the GOP.

  • Blues Tiger : Oh and don’t forget asshole okie Earnest Istook is behind alot of that Big Lobby Tea Party money

  • Blues Tiger : Brown always said thanks for the support but I am not Tea Party

  • PatsyT : Brown is not exactly the sharpest knife in the drawer

  • AdLib : BT – The original Tea Partier was Dick Armey from Freedomworks. Then Fox News. Yeah, real grass roots.

  • Blues Tiger : the wussies where attempting to deflect any repercussions upon a Minority instead of being man enough to Stand Up as themselves

  • AdLib : Brown hasn’t toed the TP line because he wants to be re-elected but that’s not going to happen either. A Dem will win his seat as long as they don’t run another goofball.

  • Blues Tiger : Think about this…. The original Tea Partiers where a bunch of white guys dressed up as a minority

  • AdLib : BT – Right again, how can a Repub be the head of a TP caucus if they aren’t a subset of the GOP? That logic can’t be opposed.

  • PatsyT : «link»

  • PatsyT : They are mad at Scott Brown for being such a tease

  • Blues Tiger : I thought of something the other day as I contemplated an article to post

  • AdLib : BT – True, they are a bogus, manufactured “group”. They are and always have been a subset of the GOP.

  • Blues Tiger : How can they have a Tea Party Caucus when there is no member elected as Tea Party?

  • Blues Tiger : No One is running under the Tea Party name

  • Blues Tiger : But thats just it AdLib all they are is GOP, not a single viable “Tea Party” candidate

  • Blues Tiger : They feel screwed by Scott Brown

  • AdLib : BT – The TP’s have a lot of influence thanks to the MSM, even though they are such a tiny group. Their influence is powerful on the GOP.

  • PatsyT : Hey they can always play Vegas The Tea Partiers would like the free buffets !

  • Blues Tiger : I wonder just how much influence the Tea Party even has at this point

  • AdLib : BT – That sounds delicious! Much better bacon distribution than having the strips on top.

  • Blues Tiger : There is a diner around here, the cook puts bacon a stainless steel bowl of water and sits it on the grill… When he makes a burger patty he pulls out a few strips and chops it up fine on the grill and then adds it to the fresh ground chuck

  • AdLib : One last topic for the night that unfortunately has very little to do with bacon: The more Sharron Angle and Rand Paul help the public recognize what Tea Party candidates are all about (with Palin and Bachman in Overdrive…pun intended), could the Tea Party be dead after Nov if all their candidates lose?

  • PatsyT : Covered in powered sugar of course

  • PatsyT : They were selling that at the OC County fair

  • AdLib : Hey, how about a Bacon wrapped pound of bacon using a bacon wrapped frying pan and cooking with bacon grease?

  • PatsyT : It needs to be covered in batter and deep fried!

  • AdLib : The Infarction Burger.

  • AdLib : Yes Patsy, that’s the one that gave me a mini HA.

  • PatsyT : Ahhh AdLib you like the Bacon Cheese Turtle Burger ?

  • Blues Tiger : I have allergies to pork but every couple of months I gtota knaw some ribs or munch some bacon

  • AdLib : My heart just stopped for a brief second when I looked at Today in Bacon.

  • PatsyT : What so you do first drink the beer or bite the bacon?

  • Blues Tiger : I only eat bacon once or twice a year if I amlucky

  • AdLib : Bacon has a way of sliding around.

  • Blues Tiger : Dang all that looks great

  • PatsyT : Wow that Bacon Beer Mug gets around !

  • AdLib : My favorite medium is bacon. I have some drippings I could show you that are totally Jackson Pollock.

  • PatsyT : «link»

  • Blues Tiger : A True Bacon atist

  • AdLib : I’m surprised KFC hasn’t added it to the menu.

  • AdLib : Here it is… «link»

  • Blues Tiger : Nope

  • PatsyT : Has anyone seen the Bacon Beer Mug ?

  • AdLib : SOunds good, have a great weekend TIAP!

  • Blues Tiger : Nice meeting you TIAP hurry back

  • TakeInAPlay : See you next Friday or on the blogs.

  • PatsyT : TIAP Thanks It’s been a pleasure !

  • AdLib : Great having you here, TakeInAPlay, wonderful to have you on The Planet!

  • Blues Tiger : Even better TIAP

  • TakeInAPlay : Chocolate dipped bacon..on a stick.

  • Blues Tiger : Helloooooooooo choicelady

  • TakeInAPlay : Well, it’s been great chatting with y’all but I must go. Thanks for welcoming me into the fold.

  • Blues Tiger : Chocolate dipped Bacon!!!

  • AdLib : Mmm…chocolate doobies…y-a-r- g-h…

  • PatsyT : How can they sell enough Cheetos with all that smog?

  • Blues Tiger : I am all for chocolate

  • TakeInAPlay : Or increase your enjoyment of chocolate, chocolate chip ice cream…or any food for that matter.

  • AdLib : Yes BT but smog doesn’t enhance your listening pleasure of Dark Side of the Moon.

  • TakeInAPlay : Ad – ROFL!!!

  • Blues Tiger : We get enough of Dallas’s smog thank you very much

  • AdLib : TIAP – Well, first we have to admit we inhale…

  • AdLib : TIAP – Indeed, if 1.4 billion could go to schools, imagine the difference.

  • PatsyT : Hmmm more Tax $$$ less to care for in the prisons save some $$ there What is not to love about that?

  • TakeInAPlay : Well, when we exhale the smoke it does travel over state lines….

  • Blues Tiger : Just think when the feds figure out a way to tax your smoke Okla can get more of your tax dollars

  • TakeInAPlay : I consider 3 strikes as harmful as term limits. But that’s a whole other topic.

  • TakeInAPlay : Ad imagine what the state could do with that kind of revenue? It’s overwhelming what good it could do.

  • AdLib : Patsy – Yes, the Prison Industrial Complex is very powerful and helped push the 3 Strikes law for its own profit.

  • Blues Tiger : Think about TIAP, no one ever indroduced a 3 strikes bill untill after Big Corp involved themselves in Prisons

  • PatsyT : Hey those inmates that escaped recently weren’t they from a private prison ?

  • TakeInAPlay : BT good point. Our history with outsourcing has not been positive or productive.

  • Blues Tiger : We are opening a “Christian Based” Private Prison here

  • AdLib : TIAP – From Wikipedia: The California legislature has estimated that taxing the previously untaxed domestically grown $14 billion marijuana market would produce $1.4 billion a year,

  • Blues Tiger : PT when we allowed prisons to go Private thats when they started sending everybody up

  • PatsyT : AdLib isn’t the Prison Union in Ca Ultra Powerful ? They want more inmates

  • TakeInAPlay : AdLib – exactly my point. It would help the overcrowding in prisons and imagine how great it would be for marijuana taxes to fund schools and health care programs. It just makes sense to me.

  • AdLib : And law enforcement time and resources spent on busting pot dealers and farms could go to meth dealers.

  • Blues Tiger : I never imagined as a teenage in the 70’s we would be dealing with Pot issues in 2010

  • PatsyT : TIAP ROTFL !

  • AdLib : TIAP – To be serious, the amount of money spent on prison incarceration and the court system related to marijuana is massive, indeed, that money could be directed to more violent and dangerous criminals.

  • TakeInAPlay : PT, he’s boppin it to the man!

  • Blues Tiger : Andrew Rice in particular

  • Blues Tiger : We have a few I support

  • PatsyT : YOu go Judge !

  • AdLib : BT – The problem is that in a red state like OK, it’s a challenge for Dems to be willing to take the risk of investing in running for a major office, knowing they’re likely to lose. SO only those who don’t have other choices are mopre likely to run, weaker candidates and such.

  • TakeInAPlay : Yes, he did an around the state and back snap.

  • PatsyT : BT LOL !

  • Blues Tiger : running away

  • TakeInAPlay : AdLib we could also steer the drug money to fight meth, which is where the real drug danger is. Not the backyard potfarm.

  • Blues Tiger : So did the judge give a “snap” with his ruling?

  • PatsyT : Bt you are in the middle of it … Have you thought of running?

  • PatsyT : TIAP So Funny !! :-)

  • Blues Tiger : yep

  • AdLib : TIAP – Think of the jumpstart to the economy legalizing marijuana would provide. Aside from being taxed and providing billions in state revenue, the fast food and pizza delivery business would skyrocket, 24 hour supermarkets would expand everywhere and Ben and Jerry’s would become the official state food of CA, providing sponsorship money to the state!

  • PatsyT : BT by around here do you mean OK?

  • TakeInAPlay : We didn’t know about his gayness under the DADT policy.

  • Blues Tiger : So I am going with Virgin(no pun intended_

  • Blues Tiger : We need new blood

  • PatsyT : Did anyone object to his gayness during the trial?

  • Blues Tiger : It would help if the Dems around here didn’t suck too

  • TakeInAPlay : Yes, go Prop 19! (This endorsement of Prop 19 was brought to you by the Chips Ahoy Enthusiasts).

  • AdLib : And only white judges should decide race-related matters. That sounds fair.

  • PatsyT : So was their plan to say if he rules for us (the 8 ers) we will not bother about his being gay but if rules against us -We are going to throw a Big Hissy Fit !!

  • Blues Tiger : so do we get to use the same argument if a hetro judge rules against it?

  • AdLib : BT – Sometimes, the art of judo is the only way to win in the end. Use someone’s power against themselves. If OK becomes all GOP, the resulting oppression and disaster will move people much farther towards the Dems than they were before. Wish it didn’t have to be this way but too many people only learn the hard way.

  • PatsyT : TIAP Yes !! but of course You can count what he has ruled because that judge is a Gay !!! Now what if he ruled for the Prop Haters? Do we still have to discount his ruling – I mean he being gay and all ….

  • AdLib : If Prop 19 here in CA passes, we can smoke our own “tea”.

  • TakeInAPlay : AdLib, yeah, isn’t that quaint?

  • AdLib : TIAP – Imagine that, using the constitution for something other than allowing the carrying of guns to church.

  • TakeInAPlay : My green tea comes in a hemp bag.

  • TakeInAPlay : And may I say how refreshing it was to have the courts reinforce the idea that all men, and women, are created equal?

  • PatsyT : My green tea comes with a twist

  • Blues Tiger : If we get Falin as Gov with our loco legislature it will be one interesting ride around here

  • AdLib : TIAP – In CA, especially after the recent ruling, you don’t have to drink your tea straight.

  • TakeInAPlay : Make sure you drink that tea straight.

  • AdLib : BT – I think you’re right, most of the purple or red states that moved Dem will likely move back hard right. That isn’t unusual in an off year election against the party in power but especially the case during bad economic times. But once Repubs have more power, they can’t play the same “it’s their fault” card the same way in 2012.

  • Blues Tiger : Alot of it will depend on how Obama fairs out and about campaigning…

  • PatsyT : Now I have to go get a green tea

  • AdLib : The Pro-Polio group can be the Sugar Cubes and be a natural partner with Tea Baggers!

  • PatsyT : I am with Howard Dean and I think we are in for an upset to the repubs hopes!

  • Blues Tiger : Every Major seat will probably become Red here

  • AdLib : Patsy – I saw that too, I think that is a bit optimistic but I don’t think it will be the nightmare scenario the GOP is crowing about…and the net result, even if Repubs pick up a bunch, is that they came in below expectations and they are not the winners.

  • PatsyT : AdLib these folks want to bring back Polio

  • Blues Tiger : Oklahoma stands a good chance to become totally red

  • Blues Tiger : I think in alot of areas that will be true PT

  • PatsyT : He said they may only lose 1 seat in the senate

  • AdLib : BT – Since it really has no bearing and works more as a way to tell DC to screw themselves, I can imagine many voting for these propositions just for the satisfaction of it. Then, when they’re sick, I’ll bet they’d be glad to have insurance even though they have a pre-existing condition.

  • PatsyT : Today Howard Dean said that the Nov election will be much closer then the repubs think !

  • Blues Tiger : I know what peoples arguments for the Mandates are, but IMO it was a big mistake to push through the Mandate with a reconciliation vote

  • AdLib : On the other hand, I always keep in mind that there are good people in every state and to punish them because of a desire to give ignorant people a comeuppance, isn’t fair.

  • Blues Tiger : We vote on it here in Oklahoma in November

  • AdLib : BT – Yep, you have a lot of Blue Dog Dems in Missouri too. On one hand, I’d like those who oppose HCR to get their wish and allow their states to not participate. As jobs and people migrate away, they will lose representation and power. Then who will need an aspirin?

  • AdLib : Hansher is also a leader of the Purity League. These are very bright people but they seem wholly blind to the simple proposition that if you oppose Obama, you are supporting a President Mitt Romney in 2012. Do they think that’s better?

  • Blues Tiger : and there were no Independent Candidates but if you add up the votes you would have to assume about 50,000 Independents showed up just to Vote in favor of PropC

  • Blues Tiger : The Prop C was a big draw for GOP but about 100,000 Dems voted for it too

  • AdLib : BT – I’m thinking only about the indie swing voters, Repubs like the majority in Missouri aren’t going to vote anything but Repub nor ever cancel their memberships in the Flat Earth Believers.

  • PatsyT : At any given time the MSNBC group can say things I want to cheer for but then some jump off a cliff… Dylan ? Where did he learn sentence structure?

  • Blues Tiger : The GOP turnout was close to double of the Dems

  • Khirad : Yeah, and both of them care what Hamsher has to say for some reason.

  • Blues Tiger : I crunched the Missouri #’s from the recent primaries AdLib

  • AdLib : I liked Cenk but he has signed onto the Dem purist bandwagon, Obama is bad because he’s not Progressive enough, blah-blah-blah.

  • Khirad : Cenk lays it on thick, but still isn’t as shrill as DR.

  • Blues Tiger : Nope

  • AdLib : BT – True but will there be a realization by those who would vote against Dems that they are voting for more Bushism?

  • Khirad : God, I so can’t stand that man. I’d rather have Cenk move into his slot.

  • TakeInAPlay : My answer, Repub is Latin for revenge. They’re only concern is spite and payback. The good of the country is not the focus of the party unless it benefits them personally.

  • Blues Tiger : Even worse is the Daytime lineup AdLib, try and watch more than 5 minutes of Cenk

  • PatsyT : Mitch McConnell should talk about faces ! He looks like he has a hot wax job on his !

  • AdLib : BT – WHo can stomach the faux populism of Dylan Ratigan?

  • Blues Tiger : The GOP is going to vote no on anything that requires funding bwtween now and Nov.

  • AdLib : TIAP –

  • AdLib : Next Topic: Mitch McConnell was upset at Al Franken rolling his eyes during McConnell’s BS speech against Kagan and cried foul. And yet, the GOP has forced families to go without Unemployment checks, 9/11 workers to go without financial aid and small businesses and states to go without financial support. Is the absurdity of the Repub campaign for Nov going to dawn on the majority of people considering voting for them or will they follow mindlessly a revenge vote on Dems without thinking about what more Repubs in Congress means?

  • Blues Tiger : I wish he had more Air time

  • Blues Tiger : I saw that

  • Khirad : By the way, Fareed Zakaria has given back an award given to him by the ADL. Three cheers for Fareed!

  • Blues Tiger : I may catch some of Rachal late night

  • TakeInAPlay : Basil is the herb Beck admits to using.

  • Blues Tiger : I am also finding it more and more difficult to watch MSNBC too

  • PatsyT : Becks shirts fit a bit better ?

  • PatsyT : I can make a nice pasta with Basil and Beck is a beer

  • Blues Tiger : Thats just it Khirad I want to watch Sanchez but it can be difficult

  • PatsyT : But they are both kinda cute

  • AdLib : How can you tell the difference between Basil and Beck?

  • PatsyT : Sanchez reminds me of Huell Howser «link»

  • Blues Tiger : [NOTE: Transcript may have been edited to enhance readability , thats what it says below the transcript of the Basil Marceaux, com Glenn Beck interview

  • Khirad : Oh yes, BT, but don’t wade in too far.

  • Khirad : I used to hate schmaltzy Sanchez so much. And then on an issue or two he surprises me and calls someone on their bullshit and bigotry.

  • Blues Tiger : There are comments?

  • Khirad : “He warned us also of the coming Latter Day of theLaw-follow the Law,not the person…the advent of the evil priest, cataclysmic events, evil leaders:and our solution is exactly what you describe every day!I believe there are lots of us consertave Buddhists out here-just most don’t speak out.I stand with you!….Luvya,ma n…Morganns schmoot”

  • Khirad : Sorry, I was reading some of those comments on the Beck page. I’ll post my favorite separately.

  • PatsyT : Rick Sanchez «link»

  • AdLib : How does that impact anti-gay Meg Whitman?

  • Blues Tiger : Opps it’s not the Feds but there is an investigation «link»

  • AdLib : BTW, Schwarzenegger and Jerry Brown are together asking the judge to allow gays to marry.

  • Blues Tiger : I try to watch him but I get bored quickly’

  • PatsyT : Rick Sanchez can be so softball it was kinda funny to see him on that stuff.

  • Blues Tiger : I think the Feds are looking into them PT

  • AdLib : Beck: “I have a Sheet…I mean a dream!”

  • PatsyT : BT didn’t Rick Sanchez go after that goldline stuff?

  • Blues Tiger : Anyone wanna bet he invokes the words “I have a dream” during his Lincoln Memorial speech?

  • Blues Tiger : Have they begun the investigation of Goldline yet>

  • Khirad : Heh, I missed the goldline ad the first time around.

  • Khirad : Seriously, whatever happened to the Arrested Development movie… sorry, Juno took me there.

  • PatsyT : Would it still be on the list?

  • Khirad : Oh, the adoptive parents… yes, that would make it even trickier.

  • PatsyT : The yuppie couple not straight but Gay – Guppies

  • Khirad : MLK? This dude’s trying to start his own LDS offshoot. And he has the nerve to talk about Paine?

  • Blues Tiger : The Marchand Speech planned at the Lincoln Memorial and that BS link are just the beggining

  • AdLib : Beck called the first black president of the U.S. a racist for absolutely no reason and has expressed racism again and again. Him being MLK an overstatement? It’s an amusement park caricature.

  • Khirad : Do you mean to suggest that the baby might have had ‘the gay’ and made the Angle position a little trickier, PatsyT?

  • Blues Tiger : check out this link «link»

  • Khirad : Just a tad, maybe BT?

  • AdLib : TIAP – Uh-oh…logic like that makes Repubs have to change themselves. Totally agree, using the upbringing of children, as the logical conclusion of the act of procreation, as the operable test, Repubs fail horribly.

  • Blues Tiger : speaking of the Beckster… Is latest movement to be the new MLK is going a bit to far in my opinion

  • PatsyT : Hey what if the couple in Juno was really really Gay ?

  • PatsyT : Khirad… I hope he has his shots !

  • AdLib : Khirad – That is hilarious!

  • PatsyT : TIAP Now you are making to much sense –Those poor girls are supposed to suffer as are their offspring!

  • AdLib : Patsy – Heh! Here’s a paper towel. BTW, that’s from Scanners by David Cronenberg.

  • Khirad : I’m actually imagining this x 100 «link»

  • PatsyT : AdLib, That made a Mess of my screen ! Cut it out!

  • AdLib : BT – Then most men won’t be able to marry if marriage is all about procreation. Only women could marry since they could procreate…then women would have to marry women…The Gay wins again!

  • Khirad : Ah, but someone actually “reasoned” thus. Two adults can choose (their deviant (lifestyle). A child can’t choose their parents (assuming they would choose a hetero couple). Like AdLib said – smack ’em over the head with the Constitution.

  • AdLib : A sneak peak into the future: Glenn Beck hearing that the SCOTUS has found for Gay Marriage and HCR: «link»

  • Blues Tiger : Correct AdLib and according to Alex our poisoned food supply is creating low sperm counts on almost all American males

  • PatsyT : Beck and Hannity on Air Aneurisms BIG RATINGS !

  • TakeInAPlay : If you take the ‘procreation’ part of the argument and replace it with ‘marriage is for the purpose of raising children in a 2 parent household’ then it would be right. That would allow for the same sex couples who were legally married to raise the children given up for adoption by all the teen mothers that were forced to have their babies becuase of the limits being placed on reproductive health care.

  • AdLib : Khirad – Absolutely, going with the 14th Amendment makes the most sense. Quit trying to reason with lemmings, smack ’em on the head with the Constitution.

  • Khirad : I finally came to it and said fine. You’re so attached to the word marriage, then everyone gets civil unioned. No more state recognized marriages if you’re so friggin’ attached to the word. Just keep in mind they get all the same rights and benefits still!

  • PatsyT : Is this somewhere in the core of some RW people that they could no longer say -I’m Married and that would mean that they are not GAY -that they like to be able to define themselves by saying that they are Married? They want to have a way to say NOT GAY

  • AdLib : BT – That would also mean that infertile women and men with too-low sperm counts should not be allowed to marry.

  • Khirad : You know, I’m really glad arguing this on the 14th Amendment. That Mass. decision didn’t sit right with me.

  • AdLib : TIAP – I think you’re right, all they had was the testimony of two or three extremists whose “proof” was the intermingled opinions of each other!

  • Blues Tiger : Nice

  • Blues Tiger : f the public reason for the institution of marriage is to facilitate procreation and the exercise of parental rights and obligations as well as filial rights and obligations, then it follows that marriage should be limited to heterosexual couples. Only they are capable of procreation.

  • Khirad : Judicial activism, blah blah blah.

  • TakeInAPlay : {{Fingers Crossed}}

  • Khirad : I’ll love it!

  • AdLib : Khirad – Can you imagine if the SCOTUS, “their” SCOTUS affirms HCR and Gay Marriage? Beck and Hannity will have on air aneurisms.

  • TakeInAPlay : I don’t think the appeal for the Prop 8 ruling will make it to the appeal’s court. They don’t have any lega; arguments that will hold.

  • Khirad : Oops «link»

  • Khirad : I found the link that someone tried to pass off in bogus “secular traditional” terms.

  • AdLib : BT – Indeed, what should be affirmed is that all Americans have rights that can’t be infringed upon.

  • Khirad : Well now, I’ve been corrected. I guess, the challenges have forced their hand. If anything I should welcome the SCOTUS decision on HCR. Righties heads will explode.

  • Blues Tiger : I loved what the Judge said about protecting “rights

  • PatsyT : They sure have their array of scare tactics Teaching Gay Marriage in the Schools- Marrying your Dog- Your Goat etc…

  • AdLib : BT – I think this is a turning point, once the SCOTUS turns down or takes the case and finds that the Constitution doesn’t allow states to deny rights to citizens even if they don’t conform to what a majority may want, many things will change.

  • Blues Tiger : It should be about Gays right to marry but it should also be about recognizing any couple

  • Blues Tiger : To me it is more than “gay marriage”, here in Oklahoma they refuse to recognize common law marriage too

  • AdLib : Patsy –

  • AdLib : Khirad – The SCOTUS will surely hear it but to rule against people paying for HC would rule against SS, UI and Medicare too, especially Medicare. These are all mandatory amounts taken from paychecks.

  • PatsyT : I liked the statement that you can’t say -one marriage is superior to the other -…just ask the ex wife of the Gov of South Carolina

  • TakeInAPlay : PT Sarah is so blonde because being blonde is not a haircolor but a state of mind.

  • Khirad : Ah, yes AdLib, I see that about HCR now. I still have to wonder what the chances are it’ll be heard though.

  • AdLib : Khirad – That’s the kind of BS that the judge blew out of the water, one can’t use religious beliefs as “proof” that others should be treated as inferiors.

  • PatsyT : Sorry TIAP I will try to act like my blonde self… Say how come Sarah is so blonde?

  • Blues Tiger : helloooooo PT

  • Khirad : Lord, someone tried to push of one of those Intellectual Design type arguments, comparing gays to handicap children in need of special circumstances. Just stop it already. It’s about YOUR interpretation of religion. And even when trying to pass off the argument as based on “tradition predating religion” that’s all it is, and you can’t help yourself with the “unnatural” argument.

  • PatsyT : Hi BT !

  • TakeInAPlay : Hey Blue! Nice to be met.

  • AdLib : Patsy – Newt came out against the ruling, decrying how it undermines marriage…as he counted on three fingers the number of marriages he’s had.

  • PatsyT : Free or inexpensive Counciling – Anger management You might save some marriages that way.

  • TakeInAPlay : PatsyT, quite making sense. That’s not allowed in politics.

  • Blues Tiger : Hello TnP nice to meet you

  • AdLib : TIAP – The adam’s apple is a tip off.

  • Blues Tiger : It will be interesting to see the rulings on Prop8, I felt the Judge offered up some interesting arguments on what we should be allowed to vote on

  • PatsyT : Gee what if the RW’s took all that $$$ they are using on Prop 8 legal fees and marketing and instead put it into actual marriages that are at risk with little kids.

  • AdLib : Khirad – This SCOTUS hearing of HCR has been in the works, it’s the culmination of all those Repub Governors having their AG’s sue against it.

  • TakeInAPlay : AdLib, well, Ann Coulter is a man after all!

  • Blues Tiger : I saw that too Khirad

  • AdLib : Saw this headline: Ann Coulter To Headline ‘Homocon’ Event For Gay Conservatives

  • Khirad : Considering Prop 8, what is weird to me is this chatter of SCOTUS hearing HCR. Where did this come from? I guess THIS is where they’re pushing the wedge issue?

  • Blues Tiger : Hello AdLib

  • AdLib : Hey BT!

  • Blues Tiger : Helloooooooooo Everyone

  • Blues Tiger : Orrrrr Canadian Bacon!!

  • Khirad : I’m kinda surprised The Last Supper was not there. Or Wag The Dog. Or even Shoot ‘Em Up. Okay, on topic now, promise!

  • AdLib : TIAP – I think this is a contrived list, made to look like conservatives are “cooler” than they really are. I mean, are we really supposed to imagine John Boehner, Karl Rove and John McCain sitting in a theater watching Juno? As for Palin, she’d probably skip it saying, “Been there, done that”.

  • Khirad : That’s exactly what it was about TIAP.

  • TakeInAPlay : Khirad, I wondered about Juno too. But maybe it’s because she decided to have the baby and give it to a nice, white yuppy couple.

  • Khirad : The only reason Team America is there is because of Alec Baldwin. Otherwise, I think they completely missed all the jokes directed at neocons.

  • AdLib : Why don’t we begin? This week, Prop 8 was overturned in CA in a thorough and stinging decision that keeping gay people from marrying is unconstitutional . It is interesting that the Repubs had little push back on this, seemingly concerned that a focus on social issues will take them off message from, “Obama and his fellow Marxist Dems have taken away your job!” Have we reached a turning point, an evolution for gay rights or after the Nov election, will the Religious Right come back with a vengeance…lite rally?

  • Khirad : Alright what’s the conservative message of Gattaca, except that it was a subpar SciFi flick?

  • PatsyT : Oooo maybe the ghost of John Wayne is mad and does not want us to make fun of him

  • Khirad : Hahaha! The one I always rib them for is actually there! Red Dawn!

  • PatsyT : Pilgrim ! «link»

  • Khirad : How could they not pick the film that gave them the joker Obama?

  • Khirad : Ghostbusters and Blast From the Past? Jeeze, these really do write themselves…

  • AdLib : Bedtime for Bonzo is a clear oversight.

  • AdLib : Nope, no John Wayne or Heston or…REAGAN!!!

  • PatsyT : No John Wayne !

  • AdLib : Patsy – Yep, 2 Mel Gibsons, double your xenophobia, double your fun!

  • Khirad : Juno? Gee, I wonder what criteria that came down to. Couldn’t have been any of the quirky wit…

  • AdLib : Khirad –

  • AdLib : The punch lines just write themselves: “A Simple Plan” (Iraq), Groundhog Day (the election of Repubs this Nov), etc.

  • Khirad : 300. If only they could get in tune with their inner gay.

  • Khirad : Pursuit of Happiness, of course. That’s like Horatio Alger Republiporn.

  • PatsyT : Two Mel Gibson films !

  • AdLib : Waiting to begin, we’re discussing the National Review’s top films for conservatives: «link»

  • PatsyT : It is just for the last 25 years but still wouldn’t they make an exception for Ronnie?

  • PatsyT : Hi Khirad !

  • AdLib : Hey Khirad!

  • Khirad : Oh really? Today the repubs were literally defending the bomb.

  • PatsyT : No Regan no Charerlton Heston ???

  • AdLib : TIAP – Yep, many very good films on the list which I can guarantee are not really films most Repubs have or will watch. Come on, a foreign film like “The Lives of Others”? A film with subtitles? First, you’d have to read and that lets out many tea baggers.

  • TakeInAPlay : AdLib – Kill Bill – nice!

  • TakeInAPlay : I’m surprised the The Lives of Others is #1. That’s actually a really good film about breaking the rules to help an innocent, wrongly accused person.

  • AdLib : My new list of GOP fave movies: How I learned to Love the Bomb and Stop Worrying (Dr. Strangelove) and Kill Bill (as in legislation).

  • AdLib : TIAP – Heh!

  • TakeInAPlay : Blast From the Past is on the list. That’s a shocker!

  • AdLib : Hmm…should I be surprised that Forest Gump is one of their favorites?

  • AdLib : W-E-I-R-D! Your latest worked…

  • PatsyT : «link»

  • PatsyT : I don’t why that did not work

  • PatsyT : I did not see Dumb and Dumber I or II on this list ……but I saw Brazil!…http:/ /www.foxnews.com /slideshow/enter tainment/2009/10 /07/national-rev iews-films
