Doing Business – The Right Way (Part 5)

PW- you blow my mind, there is so much useful information here. I have worked for the same company for 15+ years, but before that I had my own little company (film/video production). Seven years, some good, some bad. I had some great contracts and output, but I didn’t pay enough attention to the business side of things. I al considering going out in the cold again and your information here has already got me thinking the ‘right’ way” so thank you!

Colonizing The Moon

Nice ADONAI!

Though I love the idea, and really enjoyed the article, I have mixed feelings about spending the time, money and resources when there is still so much to done and to repair here on earth. The idea that we might get into a race for moon’s resources, somehow believing sections of the moon could be owned by one country or another is also troubling.
But, as I said, my feelings are mixed, and it would be utterly fascinating to see humans return to the moon once again. It may be in our destiny to venture far out in space, who knows maybe we will eventually pass through some type of time altering worm-hole and end up back here 10,000 years ago to colonize our own planet.

From a union worker family standpoint…

texliberal – bingo

great post justafarmer. (justafarmer ha! like justateacher or justanurse or justa any other person who makes this country great).

I am a strong believer in unions and so sad they continue to be attacked as if they are the cause of our problems, when in fact they could be the cure – as they were in past – when they brought us out of the dark ages of labor slavery. I wish unions would come back stronger than ever and knock the mulitnational corporations down a few notches. any way – thanks again.

Stupid is as Stupid Polls

This explains a lot. This is heartbreaking. – thanks for posting this KQuark.
Not that it would make a difference but it would great to see a comparative list of answers given in other countries, has anybody seen a list like that?

Also I just noticed your email address – is that available to all members?

The Deficit of Truth About Obama’s Budget

Fi – they are bred that way.

Cher (or is it Chern? – I’ve seen it both ways) – the link in that article to Mayhill Fowler is also interesting – I love her quote:

she is also the quintessential opportunist. And I cannot help but feel that, at the end of the day, as I thought I was proving myself to her to be worthy of journalism, she on her part was milking me for everything she could get before letting me go.

texliberal – (you and I have the same last name) thanks for this link, like Cher I hope the author is correct. I had read the Ken Auletta piece in the New Yorker, and everyday this makes more sense – cash pay out for HP investors (315m on 37m is a hell of a ROI). thanks again.

cher- yes, good comparison.

Budget, Deficits, the Debt and the lies from the right

PocketWatch – I am new here so I don’t know everyone’s story yet – but have you written a book or something – if not you should, you’re a fountain of important knowledge and you write really well.

PW – really a great point, and some more ammo in my next run in with willfully ignorant.

Oh, and good luck back in school gal, that takes guts, I’m proud of you.

Abbeyrose66 – count me as one of the impressed, your article was amazing. Thank you so much.

And I love love love this question “WHO is going to replace that business if the government cuts that spending?” WHO indeed!

You article summarizes so nicely why the r/w crazies are so wrong in their shrill demands to “cut the deficit” without understanding even a little what they say. I doubt that most of them have even read an article of the length of yours, let alone those they could find following your well researched links.

This is a great Valentine’s Day you given us, some concise information to use in our long, hard fought battle against ignorance. thanks again.

Bill Maher’s Big Lie Contribution?

choicelady – excellent post, thank you. AS I undertand it you have summarized it quite nicely.

Of course the devil in me wants to know if that’s all it takes, say I’m born again and I can fornicate my brains out? wish I would have known that sooner.

To help celebrate this day of love I captured this musical montage, one of the most romantic in the history of film, from the movie A Man and Woman and posted it to vimeo. Enjoy it, and then kiss somebody.

JackR, yes it’s wonderful I shall be playing it many times today. Thanks for turning me on to it.

jackRussel – I love that song! (and that rendition) Great to see you here.
I really like Pavoratti’s version as well, of course. even Chris Botti’s instrumental version tugs the heart. that is one of the most emotional songs, ever.

My wife has been out of town for a week and returning this evening, what could be a better present for me?

Okay off to work, see you all soon.

Overdue For Extinction

ADONAI – will look forward to that. i am sure you’ve seen the indie film ‘Mon’ with Sam Rockville – I loved that film. That aside, the idea of colonizing the moon is utterly fascinating so I can’t wait for your article.

» Posted By zootliberal On February 13, 2011 @ 7:28 pm

ADONAI – thought provoking to say the least, plus I learned a new scientific term “Holy Shit!” – so thank for that as well.

I am a big fan of both astronomy and space exploration. (btw, if you have ipad/phone/touch then Star Walk is must have app) so I really dig articles like this. Please keep them coming.
