Huffington Post Goes NSA on Its Members

You don’t have to look from the side to know Arianna is a boob.

Okay, and I will be the last one sitting who is not!

I sent an email to Jason Linkins, one of the funnier political contributors there and told him will miss his stuff but not going back even to read. He cam back with “cool, later”, so I hope it helps the message permeate.

I came over with that exodus in 2009 but I relapsed and fell into the thankless and stupid habit of battling trolls. I think between here and Epoch Times this will be my last HP rehab. I’ve vowed to never return there.

Seeing so many old mates is key to breaking the habit. After all, seeing friends and brilliant posters was the real draw. Here we can even explore our real talent for blogging a story when inspired.

I have been bouncing around here and EpochTimes and poynter all afternoon and I haven’t had to battle a single bagger moron. This truly has been liberating.

HA HA!

Okay, you’ve convinced me. I will slink over there one last time in the near future and delete it.

» Posted By imusintheevening On December 13, 2013 @ 4:06 pm

Hear HERE!! not there!

Thanks, Kalima, great to be back.

you too!

First I heard about KQuark. Darn. Is Bitsko still around?

BTW, AdLib, good work, glad to be back here.

So far I just vowed to not return. Think I will let the account linger in the dust, but deleting is a statement. I Assume one can access their profile and delete without doing the signup…..

Hi scrib!

I’m with you 100% Feistyslug!

» Posted By imusintheevening On December 13, 2013 @ 12:59 pm

Spot on. I gleefully add I never opened a Bragbook account in the first place.

» Posted By imusintheevening On December 13, 2013 @ 11:47 am

It was the last straw for me as well fellow refugee.

Welcome.

Hey Julz!

What an interesting aspect. Margaret Mead would be proud of you. Still holding down the SF roots here(from Marin)

» Posted By imusintheevening On December 13, 2013 @ 10:49 am

I’ve seen a few friends get hopelessly attached to bragbook and I don’t want anything to do with it. Friends get personal attention by direct contact. Diluting personal contact with a FB obsession seems more anti-social than social to me.

….among friends!

» Posted By imusintheevening On December 13, 2013 @ 10:13 am

Yes, I am considering the reality of what you note. If I click on their site again I will do it to delete my account. Thanks for your encouragement.

» Posted By imusintheevening On December 13, 2013 @ 10:02 am

Great rundown RF. The second I considered setting up a fakebook account was the second I decided to check out for good. It would be too much like becoming a terrorist to fight the tactic of terrorism.

Cheers, Funk!

» Posted By imusintheevening On December 13, 2013 @ 9:31 am

I didn’t bother to close my account, I just decided to eliminate the site from my life.

» Posted By imusintheevening On December 13, 2013 @ 9:24 am

Once again, I find myself testing the waters here as a refuge.

This time is different though.

Maybe I am in a real minority, but I have zero desire to join Facebook in any form. This is not associated with anonymity just revulsion at the whole concept, but considering the level of negativity and hatred encouraged with click baiting and non-moderation moderation at HP, I suppose it should. My feelings about this are similar to those I have being an atheist. I will not be forced to join a club. I asked HP management folks I know about alternatives and they shrugged, so I am done viewing their site.

Nice to see many of my favorite folks here.

Short Posts

Variety and choice, it sure would be dull if we were all the same.

maybe there is not enough lime light here for them

» Posted By imusintheevening On November 24, 2009 @ 7:22 pm

PK as you know I am shocked and disturbed, I’ve gone to bat for you by emailing in your defense, but everyone here knows that this may be just another indication that we need to spore off and establish our own rhizomorphs and mycelia of change in a better venue where individual fucking words are not judged but trolls are banished when they cross the line. PK you have always been a favorite to me so glad we have this alternative planet/universe that will only grow.
