The 2nd Amendment, Crazies, and The Social Compact

A “major Tweak” I would like to see in an education tweak; teaching people to lock up their guns! It seem far to often that one reads that the “guns were purchased legally, that they belonged to someone else, but they weren’t lock up. Perhaps gun ownership education would work. The woman in Newtown knew her sons needs, yet she left her weapons un-locked didn’t she?
Too many gun owners are taught by the NRA that locking your guns isn’t safe, it takes too long to un-lock them. Perhaps if the truth were taught that locking guns IS safer, more lives would be saved.

You are right again, AdLib, Kalima once more fills my sentiments for my fellow Admins and Members. Give that girl a job, she can be our Press Secretary, keep her away from the White House, she’s too good for them!

Weekend Music Thread-Tis The Season

AB, Whenever I read the News from AB my heart becomes warmer! She always is doing so much for her fellow man and making it seem like it’s so simple, like I drank a cool glass of water in the day’s sun. She makes it sound so simple. You are a gift to the World AB.

I was watching the news yesterday and they were doing a section on the wakes of the Sandy Hook youngsters. One youngster they said he was a musician and a fan of the Beatles! It instantly bought tears to my eyes, a little first grader sharing his love across the generations!

Covering All the Bases: The Pro-Life Party That is Pro-Death

KT, Perfect and I love it.

They suck up any intelligent life form that gets too close to them.

and then they make it disappear. We know one thing, they sure don’t use any of that intelligence.

» Posted By bito On December 20, 2012 @ 6:30 pm

KT, is there such a point out there in that hits ” much more mostest craziest,” or is there a point that just keeps getting “further” out there in the whole universe of crazy? Maybe a black hole of crazy? 😉

The lifetime rancher, who will take his seat in 2013 as a freshman, says that new gun restrictions are unnecessary. Kacal, who reportedly operates a hunting business, notably came out against a bill instructing Texans how to secure their assault weapons.

“People know what they need to do to be safe. We don’t need to legislate that—it’s common sense,” he said. “Once everyone’s gun is locked up, then the bad guys know everyone’s gun is locked up.”

Enough Unnecessary Tragedy, Time to Disarm America and the NRA

Kalima, that does seem to happen after every mass shooing from what I’ve read. I think a majority of the sales may be the same group of RW gun nuts afraid over and over again and again. Like AdLib says the NRA don’t represent gun owners, they represent gun manufactures. The NRA’s job is to constantly stir up fear both with the populace and fear in the congresspersons.

» Posted By bito On December 18, 2012 @ 8:48 pm

Kalima, it really is hard to pick out one that is the most despicable, they are all almost equal in their own way and the more some of the open their mouths they make it easier.

» Posted By bito On December 18, 2012 @ 8:13 pm

I can’t find the link yet either, Kalima.

» Posted By bito On December 18, 2012 @ 1:49 pm

If you notice the RW is up to their trickery, well they think it’s a trick, of taking only one “suggested solution at a time at a time and addressing it. They seem to be unable to take 2-4-6 6-8-9…. different parts from different suggested bills to come up with a smart, workable, comprehensive bill. They would rather dismiss one at time and say it’s not doable.

Here is another petition that you may like to sign:

Legally recognize Westboro Baptist Church as a hate group.

This group has been recognized as a hate group by organizations, such as The Southern Poverty Law Center, and has repeatedly displayed the actions typical of hate groups.

Their actions have been directed at many groups, including homosexuals, military, Jewish people and even other Christians. They pose a threat to the welfare and treatment of others and will not improve without some form of imposed regulation.

Forcing every Fox News watcher to get a mental health exam will stop a lot more senseless slaughters than an ammo ban will. #p2

k’es, it is both half way expected and very surprising, some of the comments. I do expect them to say something and remark/be a little shocked at the age of the victims or where it happened….something, but nothing seems to bother them, they go right into their normal excuses for the shooting, with their S*IT happens attitude. Why do I think that many of these people are hiding behind their anonymity of the web and really are the biggest chicken S*it’s on the web?

» Posted By bito On December 14, 2012 @ 3:12 pm

Excellent AdLib, to have all these so called “studies” and to have them in one place. Not recently in Mother Jones, I believe, that some many of these “facts” that the NRA leadership say they must uphold, the membership disavowed and disagreed with, this like background checks on all gun sales and at shows in particular. The only ones against sensible gun laws is the leadership of the NRA, the ones making million dollar salaries and are able to issue political threats, the greed and envy for power. Oh Mr. LaPirerrie(sp) must have some really small feet with all the lust and envy for power he seems to have, he must be replacing something in his life with all the envy he has.
And here is one of the problems for us and a solution for him. He knows that President’s come and go as do all other politicians but with his power he stays in his office and issues threatning edicts to those that disagree with him.

Weekend Music Thread-All That Jazz

I used to listen to jazz quite a bit years ago, usually without knowing the artist or groups name, it was just on… Two artists I did like, and even knew the name of one of them, and that was Jean-Luc Ponty, even went to see him live. Very nice concert! Difficult to pick one song, but this one may “typify his sound’ along with always stellar group.

JEAN-LUC PONTY “Rhythms of hope”

Another jazz “sound” I go into was one with a mix of Afro/Brazilian/ Cuban/ Caribe/fusion jazz.

A sampling perhaps?

Chucho Valdes & The Afro-Cuban Messengers – Jazz à Vienne Live (2010)

Ah, and a little “slipper jazz’ some smooth “Brazilian Jazz”

Santa Fe – live jazz music from brazil – Andres Jennings

Weekend Music Thread – Family and Holidays

AB, according to the Wiki, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Merry_Christmas_from_the_Family entry this is the sequel to yours. Are you sure this isn’t Louie Gommert’s family?

Robert Earl Keen- Happy Holidays Y’all (both recordings)

May I throw in the Blood, Sweat and Tears, They could really play that “large sound” when they played live.

No word on the natto, Kalima, just this:

Kimura’s personal motto is “Eat light to live long” and he earlier said that he believes the key to his longevity is to be a healthy, small eater. “Not eating much, without likes or dislikes,” he said.

four Cabinet positions treasury, war, foreign/state affairs and something to do with interior, but I have no idea what the called it, kitchen? Kitchen Cabinet, Living room Cabinet, Dining room cabinet and the catchall one “the hutch.”
