Time Out for OT – Vol 7

Thank you all! A scary few weeks, but I am grateful that it worked in my favor.

Thank you, Cher! So good to see your posts here, as always!

Hi, guys…good news is that whatever was going on is not cancer and is improving.

Bad news is that I am suffering from another ailment: it is called “I so fucking hate Glenn Greenwald” syndrome. I go over to Salon.com sometimes and he has a column there. Maybe it is just me, but I find his insufferably smug, rigid, reactionary view on everything this administration does to be tiresome. I do not mind critiques, but I am so sick and tired of the snotty, myopic narrative this guy has on all aspects of this administration. And then to read the letters of his sniveling followers who apparently are fighting for space in his colon with their “Oh, you are so brilliant, Glenn…why aren’t you running things?…blah, blah (I know why. Because the first time a decision has to be made that requires seeing things in gray and not black and white, ole Glenn will be filing papers of resignation). He is not all bad, but lately, he sets my teeth on edge. Help! 🙂

Time Out for OT – Vol 6

Amen to that, Nellie!

Sue and Cher, thank you and you are welcome. I see my ladies have been busy writing and keeping us on top of things here – you guys are great!

» Posted By LABC63 On March 24, 2010 @ 11:50 am

It is much appreciated! Just having the pain managed is an improvement. I finally got a full night’s sleep.

My heart was in my throat when I watched those gentlemen walk through that throng of people. And that this racial and homophobic nonsense is cheered as “real people expressing real anger” by some of these self-serving politicians is pathetic. The GOP has not had a real come to Jesus meeting about the direction of their party – they have been deflecting and pretending that they are just one “No” away from getting back in power. It is a delusion that has been fed to them by the psycho talk show circuit and a lazy media.

Thank you, hon!

» Posted By LABC63 On March 24, 2010 @ 9:06 am

Thank you! Me too…at least I am blessed with a great doctor and a good health plan. That is half the battle.

» Posted By LABC63 On March 24, 2010 @ 8:38 am

Hi, folks:

I had some health issues that have kept me out of the loop here. Things are improving, although I am still waiting on test results. I am so pleased about the passage of the health care bill. I just thought to post a link for a petition regarding the atrocious conduct by these tea party folks and the winking and nodding it has been given by too many craven and morally bankrupt members of the GOP. I hope you will take time to read it and sign it.

Time Out for OT – Vol 3

I feel a monty python sketch coming on – you know the one…”we wish we had rainy and overcast here…we had nothing but snow covered cardboard box to live in and we loved it!”

It is just good to have electricity up and running – nothing to be ungrateful for. Hubby and moody teen are out for the moment. And I have wine to drink later… 🙂

» Posted By LABC63 On February 9, 2010 @ 10:55 am

Morning, folks – more snow coming our way, work is closed and the metro is not fully functional. And to answer your question, yes, after three days, you can get sick of a hubby and a moody teenager in one house. (Just note: I was the big cheerleader about family togetherness during the storm) But my tuxedo cat, Deuce, is breaking all records for cuteness.

What is it like in the sun? 🙂

» Posted By LABC63 On February 9, 2010 @ 6:16 am

They need to reboot after that convention – their selection of “speakers” or spewers need a rethink. You can’t just run on being against something, or on conspiracy theories, or on blind anger. As it is now, they are being consumed by the GOP – who has never met an angry white face it didn’t like. Because, with Tancredo’s speech and its reaction, that is all that is there.

Morning, btw… 🙂

» Posted By LABC63 On February 9, 2010 @ 6:07 am

It boggles the mind of how these folks act the fool in public. That there is room for this sort of nonsense is why their “movement” is only credible to an easily distracted Media and a ready to exploit GOP.

Yowsa…tell me again how the Tea Bag Party isn’t a cover for racists?

» Posted By LABC63 On February 5, 2010 @ 7:48 am

It was funny – I loved “Pelosi’s” “Mama like” comment. If Jon Hamm walked into my office, that would be pretty much what I was thinking…well, mimus the shirt. 🙂

Robert Gibbs, Ratfucking and the Professional Left

Brilliant! I may be the minority, but I liked what Gibbs said and that he didn’t walk it back. I am so sick of the so called voices of the left, stomachs and pocketbooks filled, lecturing the rest of us and taking every accomplishment of this administration and shitting on it. It is easy to stand on the sidelines and play armchair president, but much harder to actually govern.

I love, love Network – how frightening true it has become. But I am also reminded of a South Park episode when I listen to the self procliamed heros of the left (Looking at Olbermann and Glenn Greenwald as well – I loathe these two…):

Elena Kagan Nominated to the SCOTUS

I quite agree with your assessment of Ms. Kagan. The tiresome and predictable drivel is coming from the left too – Glenn Greenwald and his fanboy base are, as usual, whining about not getting a “true” progressive, whatever the hell that means on Salon.com these days.

Republicans “Deem and Pass” the Hypocrisy on Healthcare Reform Bill

Team KQuark!! Me! Me! Pick Me!

» Posted By LABC63 On March 17, 2010 @ 1:20 pm

I’m surprised they can film her standing up, what with Grover Norquist demanding his BJ every hour on the hour… You want to smack her? After reading her smug as shit lefty purist crap and watching her on the tube, I would like to drop kick her into a cement truck.

Yep, she pisses me off that much…

Glen Beckistan Strikes Again but this Time with a Dem

Thank you! It is good to come back and see the same great folks here!

» Posted By LABC63 On March 10, 2010 @ 8:48 am

LOL!! Yeah, Beck has wasted more hours on a TV screen than three 15 year olds with Halo 3…

drunkie, please…

It was funny watching the hope drain out of Glenlivet’s face when he realized that he was getting a rambling, sweat-faced backtracker with a photo album for an hour. And watching him walk off in practically mid sentence from that idiotic chalkboard at the end was sweet…

Hi, I’m LABC, and I am petty… 🙂

The Noseless Face

Amen…I find Bill Mahr to a be a smirky douche at times and think that people who consider themselves progressives could do better than join in the “I’m so clever that I am going to stand at the sidelines smirking while the world implodes” mentality that has taken over some of the so called spokesmen and women (Hamisher)of the progressive movement. Easy to do as they got what they need to survive…

Troll Busters!

Thank you both – I feel better writing this out and I appreciate your sympathy and information. I think I will try crowd surfing at a Anthrax concert next time, much safer than this was – are the youngsters still doing that?

» Posted By LABC63 On February 18, 2010 @ 3:18 pm

My girlfriend goes through that with her brother, who, sober, is a spewing machine. It is exhausting sometimes.

» Posted By LABC63 On February 18, 2010 @ 12:57 pm

LOL!! Thank you for that chuckle!

» Posted By LABC63 On February 18, 2010 @ 12:22 pm

Yeah, that is true – I did feel like I was just a middle of road schmoe as opposed to being Che Guevara’s woman….

» Posted By LABC63 On February 18, 2010 @ 12:04 pm

Yeah, but that light went off in her head and she was on automatic pilot with those talking points. And apparently, asking for evidence means I don’t love my country.

» Posted By LABC63 On February 18, 2010 @ 11:57 am

I just wanted to get something off my chest as it has been bothering me for almost 24 hours. Last night, I had a run-in with the sort of thin-lipped spittle fueled tea bagger anger in person. I went to my local watering hole to get a bite to eat and to say hi to friends. The person who turned into a tea bag harpy on me is not a friend, but someone I have seen there and have had friendly conversations with. She and another local, who I know too, were yammering about Obama being weak with Iran. I asked

HATE IN AMERICA, Part 2: Hate Speech and the First Amendment

Thank you, Cher – again a bracing look into darkness and one of downsides of our country actually honoring freedom of speech. Keep it coming, lady!!!
