WATCH: Vice Special Report: Killing Cancer

Thank you so much. Good thoughts bring good news.

Thank you for appreciating his efforts. I agree without volunteers, who hope for success, there would be no new drugs.

I’m happy that you’re on the good side of the fight! The more good energy in the Universe with Craig’s name is a huge help in my opinion. Good thoughts bring good results.
Thank you SO much and stay well!

They say 2016 but I’m wondering if Ottawa Canada would open sooner?

» Posted By GirlOutWest On March 8, 2015 @ 1:03 pm

He is going to ask for “compassionate” care if it’s possible. They say it won’t be available until 2016.

This is my husband’s blog: Blog: http://newdenvermensclub.wordpress.com/ “Men Fighting Cancer To Win”

He has been such a strong advocate for Prostate Cancer. He has gone to a Congressional Advisory Panel as a patient to review new treatments and drugs for possible future use. He has led the University of Colorado’s Prostate support group. He is called the “guinea pig” in the group as he is willing to take a chance with every new drug. We have traveled the US to get him in trials. I’m hoping Karma and the Higher Power will make it happen! Thank you for the good thoughts on POV!

My husband has been fighting cancer for years. He is stage four and recently told two months and to call Hospice which we have done but we just watched this and he is going to contact them. It’s a last ditch effort but he’s tough as nails and I have his back.

I hope that he will be eligible to try this.

Think positive for us! We’ll let you know what we find.

The 100 Foot Journey

I loved this movie! The acting was wonderful, the food beautiful and the story engaging. I love movies about common people succeeding in life. The love stories of younger and older couples was touching. Highly recommend this movie

Republican Congressmen to Sue Own Wives For Taking Out Trash

PS: I read your articles often but I don’t always respond, my bad :-)I agree with you all more than I agree with most people I know…again, my bad :-)!

» Posted By GirlOutWest On November 24, 2014 @ 3:06 pm

I was actually floored by the results. I had no idea people would be that apathetic since we have suffered through years of obstructive behavior and gridlock in Congress. There are rumors that the gop will eat their own so maybe that’s a good thing?! I’m afraid gridlock is going to reign no matter what.

» Posted By GirlOutWest On November 24, 2014 @ 3:02 pm

I can not get over the lazy, passé voters. Colorado has elected two terrible Republicans…Cory Gardner and Mike Coffman.

Against Their Own Self Interest: Missourians Likely to Vote to Hurt Themselves

Murph, I believe my brother might have actually lived if he had the ACA and was given better care but perhaps I’m just bitter because I don’t think he got the care he needed or deserved. He was always such a hard worker.

Most of what I know about my Grandfather is from my older cousins but they say he cared about people no matter what their status. They were in the very southwest part of MO and I’m guessing there wasn’t much diversity in that area back then but I do know he helped the poor even though he had 9 children of his own. I never got the impression he was a Dixiecrat but can’t say for sure.

I’m sad that that area has not progressed overall in the social side of Democracy. I have wonderful family there who are on my side of the aisle including an Aunt who is a STRONG Democrat. I wish I had more direct knowledge of my Granddad but I don’t. I agree with your last statement, FOX and friends are going to have to answer for their misdeeds. Have a happy Sunday!

» Posted By GirlOutWest On October 19, 2014 @ 11:09 am

I’m originally from Southwest MO and I know what you’re talking about. I was very fortunate to have been raised by Democrats. My Grandfather on my Dad’s side was a Baptist Minister and a Democrat. My Mom was from a well educated family (Doctor Grandfather, Teacher Father) in the Huntington, WV area…also Democrats.

Later in my life my Father’s “girlfriend” converted him to the Right Wing, not just Republican. One of my brothers went that way too. My dear, but confused, brother moved to Texas which solidified his right wing position. He became ill, the company he worked for had JUST closed and he had no insurance. He died. I can’t say it was because of no insurance but I feel it could have gone the other way if he had insurance. I’m certain he would have been against the ACA.

He always told me he didn’t watch FOX but I found a picture of him at his home and guess what was on the television…FOX. I miss him so much and I’d like to think he would have finally seen through the Republicans/TeaParty. FOX BRAINWASHES.

Is The United States Of America A Christian Nation?

Agreed. It’s like the GOPT live in “opposite world”. What they say is opposite of what they are or do. I’m not sure I’ll ever understand them.

In Remembrance of KQuark

I remember Hume and KQuark from HP. I knew BITO from the Planet.

It’s a sad day to think that these brilliant souls are not among the “living” but I believe they’re still surrounding their friends and family. They’re there when you need them.

My condolences to everyone at POV and the families of Kquark, BITO. Peace be with you.

Weekend Music Thread – Life is Sweet

Congratulations on your artistic success! Did Channel 4 have it on their website as well?

Best wishes and a big YEA! for your niece. I remember that accident and I happened to be watching Channel 4 when the reunion took place. She’s so fortunate to be in the great shape she is and you all must be over the moon.
My best to her and you.

I live in West Aurora btw.

Take care and yes, life is sweet!

What the GOP Would Have Said if They Helmed the Titanic

It’s not nice to find joy in other’s misery but I found their excuses and denials…delicious!

As always, even in defeat, the “Right” was so wrong. It was a great day for America.

Nice piece AdLib!

PlanetPOV’s Rogue’s Gallery #1 – Parody Artwork of Romney & Friends

You guys did an awesome job with this project! I laughed and laughed…love Newt and Rupert too, loved them all. So funny and yet so accurate.

When the Chips Were Down, Mitt Romney Cut and Ran – To France

You may be correct. He’s the face to the public (but really, that’s the best they can do?).

Have you read the Robert Draper “Do Not Ask What Good We Do” book. He really lays it out there. In January of 2009 a group of 13 well known Republicans (Paul Ryan for one) met. They, guided by the likes of Frank Luntz and other famous GOPers, decided to obstruct and do everything in their power to stymie the President…at all cost. Even if it harmed the country.

It’s a must read, although it’ll make you mad!

» Posted By GirlOutWest On June 11, 2012 @ 6:32 pm

I totally think he’s a freak…literally. Everyone raves about Mrs. Romney but when I look at her she looks scared and like she’s got the biggest burden. I know that she suffers from MS but I get something different from her. Maybe fear because she knows the real Mitt?

I also wonder about a man who would put his ill wife through the campaign and possible Presidency (please GOD..don’t let it happen). The truth is their life is all about Mitt, 24/7 in my opinion.

» Posted By GirlOutWest On June 11, 2012 @ 6:25 pm

Is it just me or does Mitt Romney seem like someone who could actually HAVE skeletons in his closet?! This man has so little sympathy, empathy or compassion for others.

He scares the heck out of me.

Thank you for your article. I think it’s important for people to know the bizarre Willard.

Breaking Down MSNBC

It’s the best we have at this point. I think Thomas Roberts sneaks in some good points for my team periodically. Chris Hayes although a weekend anchor is good as are Alex Wagner, MHP, Tamron Hall and I’m surprisingly happy with Martin Bashir.

Heck I like MSNBC better than the rest so it’s the one we watch most.

Life isn’t fair so we’ve got to make the most of what we’ve got.

Weekend Music Thread – Send Your Love

When I was young I worked at a music store. I was so lucky to get to listen all day to great music like Jimmy Spheeris! My first true love was in to music as well so we had some fabulous LP’s.

When I moved to Colorado, got married and CD’s came out I got rid of ALL my albums (I know, what the heck was I thinking…must’ve have 3 or 4 hundred). Didn’t even sell them just gave them away. My husband was in to the new technology and wanted to have the room they took up. He’s lucky I love him so much or he’d be in big trouble:-) Of course as I got older I realized the stupid thing I’d done but what’s done is done and I was able to order the Isle of View, the Original Tap Dancing Kid and The Dragon is Dancing on CD.
I’ve been listening to Shawn Phillips and Kenny Rankin’s “Like a Seed” lately. Case of nostalgia or just really great music?! I think the latter!
So nice to hear from someone who appreciates the great songs of Jimmie Sheeris!!

» Posted By GirlOutWest On June 10, 2012 @ 6:15 pm

From Jimmy Spheeris:

» Posted By GirlOutWest On June 8, 2012 @ 8:08 pm

I’ve been listening to Kenny Rankin’s “Like a Seed” in my car all week. I think he was one of the best…ever. From the same era I really like Jimmie Spheeris and Shawn Phillips. I know that I date myself but these three men made some beautiful music.

Huffington Post Openly Launches Campaign to Attack Obama

Yep, AH wants to have it both ways and as much as I wish I didn’t I’m like a Carp biting at her tidbits on the water.

Sometimes I find it fun to be snarky and argumentative with the righties that comment. I know it’s bad but I’m nice to everyone in my real life so I find it theraputic occasionally. Kind of addictive.

» Posted By GirlOutWest On March 22, 2012 @ 3:45 pm

I hate being used but I do like HP and a lot of the good guys that post there. I’ve been shocked by the animosity some of the posters there feel for the President and all of us “commies”.

Huffington Post got big time by pushing the buttons on both sides but I really hate it when they do a hit piece on the President. I feel as though he’s done a pretty good job considering the situation.

When I first saw that photo of AH with the vacationing Gingrichs’ it was my first clue to her. Her loyalty lies in a bank vault.

» Posted By GirlOutWest On March 19, 2012 @ 7:29 pm

I rarely read her articles because I don’t trust her even a teeny tiny bit. There has been the rare occasion when the title will interest me but they are few and far between.

I can not imagine why ANY woman would want to dissuade voters from voting for the only one that has OUR interests at heart, President Obama. Arriana Huffington is in it for the money and the glory. I don’t think the nation’s well being is of much concern for her or AOL.

The GOP Handbook For Training Your Woman

You are correct. It would appear that the GOP wants their women and children to revert to the glory days (gag) of the 1800s or if we’re lucky…the early 1900s.

I believe the election of 2012 will show them we don’t agree with their backwards time travel.
