Russia’s Shooting Down of Malaysia Flight 17 – The New Lusitania?

AdLib – over 800 flights took the same route as MH17 in the week leading up to the shoot down because it was an approved route. Airlines have options though and can choose to reroute, which the US did. But avoiding all areas of conflict in the world would mean flights would be diverted over Africa, the Middle East, Europe and lord knows where else terrorists are active. Airlines meet the minimum standards required by regulators, which is frightening for pilots and the flying public.

AdLib – Michael Weiss from the Interpreter Magazine said that Europeans need a new catchphrase in the wake of the downing of MH17: “Better cold than dead.” But the EU isn’t acting as a unified body; France still plans to go ahead with selling Russia planes and the others hesitate because of natural gas. Why world leaders act as if they’re walking on eggshells around reptilian corrupt Putin is beyond me. If now’s not the time for them to act, then when?

“And it is hard to see how this affront to our civilization and society, the callous murder of nearly 300 people flying tens of thousands of feet above an invaded nation can be met by the most powerful and influential nations in this world, with nothing.”

It’s even more difficult to understand why those EU nations with passengers aboard the downed airliner haven’t denied landing rights to Aeroflot and frozen Putin’s private bank accounts as punishment for his incursion into a sovereign nation and Russia’s financial support, her providing weaponry and training in the use of weapons of mass destruction to separatists.

And it’s equally hard to stomach why no western leader has objected to stuffing remains of victims onto cattle cars and that the private effects of victims have been rifled through and that western “monitors” at the scene allowed in by drunken thugs aren’t the same as qualified aviation crash investigators who should have been at the scene immediately following the crash, protecting its victims and evidence and conducting an internationally accepted investigation before evidence was contaminated.

Could Hillary Clinton Become the Next Republican President?

Aside from supporting policies to the right of many Democrats, Hillary appears inauthentic especially over inconsequential things. Does anyone remember after the official White House photo was released of Obama and his security team in the situation room watching the bin Laden raid and Hillary had her hand over her mouth, when a reporter asked her about her reaction she said she was having an allergy attack.

Voters would understand she reacted in fear at seeing a helicopter down or our Seals in danger, but her first inclination was to lie. She comes across as calculating and I wouldn’t mind if another Democrat most of us haven’t heard of came out of nowhere and forced her to answer tough questions.

Donating her college speaking fees to the Clinton Foundation that is chaired by a Chelsea friend and that pays her and her family’s salaries isn’t the same as donating to a charity with no family connections. And when the electorate thinks about charities, the Clinton Foundation doesn’t spring to mind.

AOL To Buy Delta Airlines: Will Require All Passengers to Fly Naked

Thanks, AdLib for your welcome – enjoy your articles (or has that word been retired in favor of posts?) HP will survive our exodus and most of us will never look back. Still finding my way on Planet and it’s good to know some writers out there were paying attention to how sneaky HP rammed through its new sign in procedure. Am surprised we weren’t asked for our social security numbers.

AdLib – you forgot to mention that Delta’s frequent fliers would be grandfathered in and permitted to wear clothes – oh wait, AOL has reevaluated that clause and members of the public who don’t like the new requirement can fly elsewhere.

Huffington Post Goes NSA on Its Members

It’s not just the Facebook link in order to post on HF that’s the problem; it’s the fact that in order to verify ones FB account users must provide their cell numbers to a website that’s had millions of its passwords hacked. Folks are setting up fake FB accounts with Google Voice numbers in order to assure HP that they have the right to comment, where if the moderators were doing their jobs in the first place none of this would’ve been necessary. This isn’t about comment civility – it’s about HP partnering with FB and mining personal data.
