    Promise and Problems

Self-proclaimed critics attempted to tie Michael Brown to the Gangsta Life of the rap songs and violence, concluding that a kid with no criminal record was no better than a thug. Perhaps these critics have forgotten about the past, when young children idolized the pirates of the 1700s, the cowboys of the 1800s Old West, and the gangsters, bank robbers and killers of the early 1900s for their criminal exploits.

    The Revolution Will Be Crimina

Apparently, revolution and guns are only good things when in the hands of white people. Can you imagine what would be happening in Ferguson, MO right now if those protesting over the murder of Michael Brown openly carried rifles and hand guns in their protests?

    The Police States of America

The militarization of police forces has turned them from a philosophy of protecting and serving the community to responding to even minor situations en masse with armored vehicles, military gear and combat uniforms complete with helmets and gas masks and we see an America that only used to live in dark science fiction stories.

It’s highly unlikely that Miss Trust Fund Brat was even remotely interested in what the President had to say about his budget plan in relation to the obscenity Paul Ryan’s trying to hawk, or the state of the declining middle class She obviously isn’t thinking of the masses of unemployed or underemployed, of people who’ve flattened their 401K’s simply to get by

Perhaps I am simply reiterating what has already been said when I write on the nature of necessity. I am not nearly well-read enough, worldly enough, nor arrogant enough to claim that my thoughts on the matter are wholly original.

It’s my observation that the country as a whole has a serious case of what can best be termed American Attention Deficit Disorder – (AADD).  A really good example of how this works is actually occurring right now in the Congress. The Rs captured the lower house in the 2010 […]

Our budget deficit is skyrocketing due to spending on the poor. The poor are increasingly becoming obese and dependent on government spending. Maybe it’s time to meat in the middle.

It’s Spring, and time for my Second Annual Passover Post. This year, something very special to me: A commentary on the booklet all Jews read at the Passover seder, the Haggadah, by my teacher and friend of almost 20 years, Rabbi Jonathan Omer-Man, who graciously allowed me to post […]

This email is not about being a Republican or being a Democrat. It is about having some integrity and specifically, your lack thereof.

As one of your constituents in Arizona’s 7th Legislative District I wanted to let you know that I am outraged as a taxpayer at the time, money and effort spent on the ridiculous AZ “Birther” bill sponsored by State Rep. Carl Seel.
