A young man, haunted by his life in Iraq and Afghanistan. He looks SO young but he does not smile. Empty eyes, and even in the midst of a crowd very much alone.
It all comes down to profits for those who have more to gain from war than peace. We have McCain in the Senate who never met a war he didn't like. Why, because he can line his pockets with considerations.
First , let me say I am not a big fan of labels like "conservative" or "liberal". I believe they are misleading at best. Second, I have some questions and would appreciate some answers.

POW trades have happened for almost all wars. Those who argue that we should not trade for our soldiers don't seem to understand that if we leave them and don't try to swap for them we will have trouble getting people to join the service.
It is a disgrace that we ask these people to fight and then when they get back to America they are abandoned.
My point is that war does things to you and to some people it does something different. Tom and some others enjoyed it. He would have gone back again if they had not identified his mental health problem and treated him.

I got a call from a recruiting Sgt. at work. He said "Why don't you join the Army boy?" My response was "No thanks, I'll take my chances with the draft." That was the wrong thing to say to a recruiting Sgt., only two weeks later I got my first draft notice in the mail.
236 years ago today, the Declaration of Independence was adopted by the Continental Congress...after defeating an amendment to name the new country, "Cool Dude Nation".
