Vox Populi, our live weekly chat about the week’s events begins tonight at 7:00pm PDT. Hope to see you then!
AdLib 20 hours ago
Don’t forget to say “Hi!” or “Pardon me?” when you arrive.
AdLib 15 hours ago
Hi everyone. Sad day for foodies
pinkpantheroz

it’s almost halftime and I’m a James fan but the warriors should win tonite
Harleigh

Hey PPO! Any word yet on why he committed suicide?
AdLib 15 hours ago
Hey Harleigh!
AdLib 15 hours ago
Evenin’, gents. How is everyone tonight?
glenn

Not in any media here. Puzzling
pinkpantheroz

hi guys
Harleigh

hey glenn
Harleigh

Hi Glenn!
AdLib 15 hours ago
According to one A Jones, he was ‘killed’ because he was a Trump supporter, no less! How about that?
pinkpantheroz

hi glenn
pinkpantheroz

PPO–Bourdain was a trump supporter?
glenn

alleged by that obnoxious SOB Jones
pinkpantheroz

I’m for the Warriors too but James is amazing.
AdLib 15 hours ago
how long to go in the basketball?
pinkpantheroz

honestly i have never heard of this food guy or the handbag designer lady. ‘m so un worldly. lol
Harleigh

PPO–Was it one of those “false flags”?
glenn

its halftime almost
Harleigh

Really? Repubs have to make a suicide about whether he was a Dem or Repub. Disgusting!
AdLib 15 hours ago
twitter quote: Alex Jones went on air today and claimed Bourdain was murdered by globalists because he planned on coming out as a Trump supporter. I wish I was making this up.
pinkpantheroz

Harleigh–it’s okay; you’re just not into handbags and unusual food.
glenn

LOL glenn
Harleigh

PPO–Okay, got it. I, for one, certainly believe whatever Alex Jones says, cause he’s always so truthful.
glenn

Obama killed Vourdain and Spade. It was Hillary’s plan.
AdLib 14 hours ago
Ah, of course, ad!
pinkpantheroz

And seth rich too
Harleigh

Ad–well, at least Obama and Hillary didn’t hide him in the basement of the pizza place!
glenn

bourdain got Kim Jong Un’s Kimchee recope first!, so he had to go
pinkpantheroz

if those basement walls could talk…. if there was a fucking basement. lol
Harleigh

PPO–LOL!
glenn

PPO–I thought Dennis Rodman had the kimchee recipe.
glenn

Heh! You beat me to the Rodman joke, Glenn!
AdLib 14 hours ago
Nah, he has the Bulgogi
pinkpantheroz

Ad–fast fingers!
glenn

brb Herself calls!
pinkpantheroz

Didn’t David Hogg and Parkland kids kill Bourdain?
AdLib 14 hours ago
with AR-15’s!
Harleigh

PPO–Okay, makes sense. Kimchee is more Bourdain’s style. I can handle the smell of bulgogi; kimchee is another story. When I was teaching in Saudi; there was no cafeteria in the school, so students brought their lunches and we ate in the classrooms. We had several Korean students and the school finally had to ask students not to bring kimchee for lunch any more because the smell lingered for days!
glenn

Can the Trumpers addiction to conspiracies and fake news ever be stopped, even after he’s out in 2020?
AdLib 14 hours ago
only if faux is banned
Harleigh

Ad–the trumpers will never get over their addiction to conspiracies; it’s what keeps the GOP alive!
glenn

Is there a legal and Constitutional way to reign in Fox News?
AdLib 14 hours ago
It never ceases to amaze me that once a conspiracy “theory” is out there; trumpers and gopers never tire of it. They’re still pushing the Uranium One conspiracy and the giving Iran money conspiracy.
glenn

Only if they reinstate a ‘fairness doctrine’.
Harleigh

Ad–Since fox went to court in Florida in the 90’s and admitted they were not a news station; they are an entertainment station; I don’t see any legal remedies. They’ve actually admitted they’re “fake news”, but it doesn’t make any difference.
glenn

Trump thinks “kimchee” is Jong-un’s rapper name.
AdLib 14 hours ago
true dat glenn. lol
Harleigh

Harleigh–not sure the “fairness doctrine” fits, because that just means that fox would have to have Dems on, and we all know how that goes.
glenn

Hey Murph! How are you?
glenn

If Fox is also connected through Hannity et al to Russia and sabotaging our elections?
AdLib 14 hours ago
hey murph!
Harleigh

Murph! GHow are you?
pinkpantheroz

Hey Murph!
AdLib 14 hours ago
Ad, Murdoch’s money and his Russian investments might be an interesting read
pinkpantheroz

I have been AWOL for a couple of weeks. Last week could not get to Vox. Thought I was too late. Same thing today but I persisted. Got it. The key is to log out and then log in a couple of times……the box to sign on to vox popped up the third time.
MurphTheSurf3

Ad–that only means hannity is connected; not foxsocallednews. Dontcha love how hannity is now advising trump aides to commit obstruction of justice?
glenn

Glad you made it, Murph.
glenn

glenn, surely that is enough for someone to arrest that dangerous fool
pinkpantheroz

Haven’t been here myself the past two weeks; both Friday nights had to be early nights for travel early Saturday mornings. Went to Florida to see my new great grandson; he’s adorable!
glenn

PPO–Naw, it’s only enough to investigate and arrest if hannity were a Democrat.
glenn

PPO – That’s what I’m thinking, like getting Al Capone on tax evasion. Get Fox on being connected to treason.
AdLib 14 hours ago
How am I…up to my neck in fights….for McCaskil, for the Dem that took a Kansas City suburb state Senate Seat, for the Franklin County Public Admin….a dem, with a social conscience doing an outstanding job…against the GOP and its Fuhrer.
MurphTheSurf3

Murph–good on ya!
glenn

Murph – Sorry to hear about that issue, you were missed.
AdLib 14 hours ago
Also leading the co-op in taking on the fantasy that the tariff war is not going to kill farmers here…..the blinders are soldered on to their foreheads.
MurphTheSurf3

Glenn, missed you too but glad you were having a great time.
AdLib 14 hours ago
And of course I am angry as hell at those damn Canooks who burned down the whole capital in 1912.
MurphTheSurf3

Murph, be very careful, please. High suicide rate among farmers, so be careful.
pinkpantheroz

Murph–when their wallets become affected, perhaps they’ll change their minds. Notice I use the word “perhaps” because it seems there’s nothing that will change the mind of a trump supporter. He (trump) probably could’ve killed Comey and gotten away with it. It’s all the Dems’ fault, dontcha know?
glenn

General Pepe LePew’s forces ran riot, couldn’t be stopped
pinkpantheroz

PPO….among the things I am very concerned about. So many are trapped in the futile belief that Trump will save them…..and when he does not emotional meltdown.
MurphTheSurf3

Murph – Even if they lose their farms, they’ll blame it on Pizzagate and vote for Trump.
AdLib 14 hours ago
I gots to get back to the game folks. see ya next week if we still have an internet. lol
Harleigh

See you, Harleigh.
pinkpantheroz

Murph–Damn those Canooks! I’ll bet it was one of Trudeau’s ancestors who lit the torch!
glenn

Murph – We all know how vicious and destructive Canadians are.
AdLib 14 hours ago
Glenn, precisely. I know very bright people who are blinded zealots stumbling about in the darkness that is this presidency.
MurphTheSurf3

So Long Harleigh. Enjoy.
MurphTheSurf3

The Mounties celebrated the anniversary with a party in the basement of the Pizza joint
pinkpantheroz

Murph–great turn of phrase! Kudos!
glenn

AD and PPO…yes and the Clintons were behind it all and at the party.
MurphTheSurf3

Thanks Glenn.
MurphTheSurf3

Wait, did Trump kill Bourdain just to prove he could get away with it?
AdLib 14 hours ago
maybe, Ad. Who is next? Comey?
pinkpantheroz

Ad…that Bourdain guy was hobnobbing with people who were not real Americans…death was too good for him.
MurphTheSurf3

Ad–great theory! Except wasn’t Bourdain going to come out for trump, according the Alex Jones?
glenn

Comet is wearing a bullet proof vest no doubt.
AdLib 14 hours ago
Maybe it was the ‘coming out bit’ that decided things?
pinkpantheroz

Murph–not to mention hanging out with Obama! How dare he?
glenn

Glenn….Bourdain for Trump per Jones….gag!
MurphTheSurf3

OBAMA….that traitor!
MurphTheSurf3

glenn, unfortunate wording
pinkpantheroz

PPO–probably! Coming out is not good.
glenn

Murph–that’s what PPO read somewhere.
glenn

You don’t “come out” for Trump. You “throw up”.
AdLib 14 hours ago
Ad–or you projectile vomit for trump!
glenn

murph: twitter quote “Alex Jones went on air today and claimed Bourdain was murdered by globalists because he planned on coming out as a Trump supporter. I wish I was making this up.”
pinkpantheroz

Glenn….if “I read it somewhere” is good enough for the Big Cheesehead then it should be good enough for PPO
MurphTheSurf3

Murph–exactly! Especially if it comes from a rwnj.
glenn

PPO…Well, if Jones said it then it is good enough for me. Did Clinton pull the trigger?
MurphTheSurf3

Glenn – Exactly! Barf For Trump!
AdLib 14 hours ago
Ad–I’d rather barf ON trump!
glenn

Murph–naw, Clinton planned it; Obama pulled the trigger, and they got caught before they could hide his body in the basement of the pizza place.
glenn

Any more news on the G6.5?
pinkpantheroz

I was in a Salon yesterday in my hometown surrounded by women, mostly, and a few men, who were vomiting forth Trumpese at prodigious rates……and time and again they said things that were the equivalent of holding a diamond back rattler to their bosoms hoping for a little nibble.
MurphTheSurf3

Glenn – Now that would be a constructive use of barf!
AdLib 14 hours ago
They were gunna pickle him
pinkpantheroz

Glenn…that makes sense. THEY were all in on IT.
MurphTheSurf3

Murph, what size bosoms did the men have?
pinkpantheroz

PPO….Trump arrives late, leaves early wants russia at the table and is ignoring climate change. The rest of the 7 REALLY PISSED OFF.
MurphTheSurf3

Murph–you are on a roll tonight with prose! The diamond back rattler one is great!
glenn

Ad–Always want my barf to be productive!
glenn

Murph, sorry to say but these Trumpers will need to suffer badly to be snapped out of their spell.
AdLib 14 hours ago
Murph
pinkpantheroz

PPO…..bosoms small but the snakes were biting.
MurphTheSurf3

PPO–Maybe they were going to cremate him in the pizza oven.
glenn

Ad …. and their children will suffer even more.
MurphTheSurf3

Might the G-6 become the G-5 and send Trump off on the short bus?
AdLib 14 hours ago
I got my haircut and walked out…no tip….the place is a nesting ground for idiots.
MurphTheSurf3

Talking about food, would any of you buy from a Chick-Fil-A run by Pruitt’s missus?
pinkpantheroz

Murph–I’m not sure if I want Macron to follow through on his (somewhat) threat to isolate trump. On one hand, it would show trumpettes how bad trump is at international relations. On the other hand, they would just yell, “America First”.
glenn

Ad……I think the other members are going to make Trump walk his own plank. No removal by them but removal by him.
MurphTheSurf3

Murph, it is too bad but it may be the only way to bring them back into decent society.
AdLib 14 hours ago
Glenn…Macron needs a foil to boost his polls and Trump is emerging as a too tempting target.
MurphTheSurf3

Ad….I fear for them all….on the other hand my investments are doing very well.
MurphTheSurf3

Murph, So Trump might actually be good for something, like getting votes for the Opposition? Good. Dems GOTFV!
pinkpantheroz

Murph–I’m just glad to see someone stand up to trump for whatever reasons.
glenn

PPO….I hope so but so many on that side of the fence remain apathetic and ignorant.
MurphTheSurf3

Murph – Good thing Trump brings his own plank to walk to every meeting with other leaders.
AdLib 14 hours ago
Glenn…Trudeau and Merkel have been pretty clear. The Brits are mostly silent.
MurphTheSurf3

Murph–and that’s the reason so many repubs are still supporting trump…money. The economy is doing well, not from anything trump has done, but from what he inherited from Obama. So, until his tariffs destroy the economy and cost jobs, repubs will support him.
glenn

Murph, Brits are between a rock and a Brexit. They soon will be isolated from the EU themselves.
pinkpantheroz

There are no principles left in Repubs. The only thing that can move them is suffering. Severe suffering. They voted for it.
AdLib 14 hours ago
Murph–I think the Brits are dealing with their own right wingers.
glenn

PPO–beat me to it about the Brits.
glenn

Ad–principles, schminciples. If rudy toody can denigrate Stormy for selling sex for money, while there are pictures of melania all over the internet posing practically nude for money and talk about principles, they have no idea what the word actually means.
glenn

And the poor Brits have just one, hundred and fifty mile tricky problem on their hands, the border between Northern Ireland and The Republic. Hee. Hee, now they’ll know what it means to be under the Irish foot for once!!! Snort!
pinkpantheroz

Glenn…yes money but the “good economy” here really refers to the world of finances, investment, and global play…not good for the little guy.
MurphTheSurf3

The Brits were hit by the Brexit vote manipulation like we were by the 2016 election. In a sane world, we’d be fighting Russia together and finding ways to reverse the damage.
AdLib 14 hours ago
PPO…quite right about Brexit.
MurphTheSurf3

Glenn…and lets recall Rutty Rudy’s own history of sexual pecadillo.
MurphTheSurf3

Murph–agree with you somewhat; however, unemployment is very low too, so the little guy should be at least employed. Doesn’t matter if he works for low wages; at least he’s employed. Or, so the theory goes, and so the mcconnells, ryans, and trumps of the world tell them
glenn

Ad, is proof emerging about dodgy votes, or is it woshful thinking that the British COUDN’t vote to leave the EU?
pinkpantheroz

Rudy is a lunatic yet the MSM reacts to his ravings as if they need to be seriously debated. They are part of the problem, a megaphone for insanity.
AdLib 14 hours ago
Murph–aww c’mon, rudy’s sexual pecadillos don’t mean a thing. He’s a man! Their sexual exploits don’t count.
glenn

Ad, the rustiest hinge gets the most oil
pinkpantheroz

Glenn….yes, they have jobs, but often at the cost of even less money on hand as cuts in social network cut them deeply….did you see that public housing and affordable housing rates are going up 20 percent from Carter’s HUD.
MurphTheSurf3

Ad–the MSM does the same thing with the lunatic trump–seriously debating his lies. They should just call them out as lies, and have a Dem on to talk about Dem policies.
glenn

Giuliani walking the streets on 9/11 in search a place to set up an emergency coordination center because the one he moved at the cost of millions of dollars to one his biggest donor supporters got flattened in the world trade center. Yeah, that guy.
MurphTheSurf3

Murph–yes, I know that, and you know that, and the MSM has talked about the 20% hike, but I’d bet my bottom dollar that repubs will blame it on Dems somehow. After all, the 20% hike is being justified because it will “force” all those “freeloaders” to get jobs.
glenn

Murph–yeah, that guy. Rudy, noun, verb, and 9/11 rudy!
glenn

Glenn, yep, they do it with Trump too but Giuliani is drooling mad.
AdLib 14 hours ago
Giuliana who vetoed the demand from police and firefighters that their ground communications systems be updated to penetrate news skyscrapers like the Towers…and hundreds died in uniform because they could not get the word to evacuate.
MurphTheSurf3

Ad–but Giuliana drooling mad makes for “most watched tv”.
glenn

Murph – He never took the hit he should’ve for the communications disaster he created.
AdLib 14 hours ago
Glenn….full employment means that virtually all who could work are working……the working poor.
MurphTheSurf3

Ad….the MSM failed deciding that the America’s Mayor Hero Image sold better.
MurphTheSurf3

Well, better say cheerio to all you watching th basketball. See you next week.
pinkpantheroz

Americans are far too big suckers for image over substance.
AdLib 14 hours ago
PPO Good on ya Mate!
MurphTheSurf3

Murph–once again, you and I know that about what full unemployment means. I’m just telling you what repubs are saying to justify the rate hike. The proposal, which needs congressional approval, is the latest attempt by the Trump administration to scale back the social safety net, under the belief that being less generous will prompt those receiving federal assistance to enter the workforce. “It’s our attempt to give poor people a way out of poverty,” Carson said in a recent interview with Fox News.
glenn

See ya PPO!
AdLib 14 hours ago
‘Nite, PPO!
glenn

And yet poverty rates are rising.
AdLib 14 hours ago
Glenn…I think your assessment is right on….and sadly, I seriously doubt that those who will be burned by this will not act to depose this administration.
MurphTheSurf3

Ad–the poverty rates rising are Obama’s fault because something…something.
glenn

Murph–Probably not many of those who be burned by this administration are registered to vote, or perhaps not even interested in voting. The people who should be acting to depose this administration, namely Congress, are complete cowards!
glenn

oops–“who will be burned”
glenn

Glenn….yep…not what MLK had in mind at all….
MurphTheSurf3

The poor who are getting most support are children, the disabled and older Americans. They’ve got coal mining jobs they have to take?
AdLib 14 hours ago
And Glenn the Democratic Great Society is very much at fault in all of this….
MurphTheSurf3

Ad…precisely.
MurphTheSurf3

This will eventually come crashing down on Trump and Repubs…beginning this year.
AdLib 14 hours ago
I look around at the people in my rural area getting support and they are almost entirely children, the disabled, and the poor old folks….most recently in this state there is a big push on limiting medicaid support for nursing home residency.
MurphTheSurf3

Ad….how do you think that will happen?
MurphTheSurf3

Murph–It is so sad. I believe this administration, with its divisive and harmful rhetoric/actions against minorities has eroded the hope of many people. Yes, some people have been activated to resistance; yet I read about many who have just given up.
glenn

How about Trump trying to bring back pre-existing conditions?
AdLib 14 hours ago
and Glenn many of the MAGA crowd are motivated too….fools on both sides.
MurphTheSurf3

Murph – Dems taking The House back is the start.
AdLib 14 hours ago
Murph–Do you mean the backlash against the Democratic Great Society, or the policies themselves?
glenn

Murph–that’s where I have to agree with you on bothsidersism–fools on both sides!
glenn

Ad….two people in my area at a rehab were tossed out far too early because insurance company felt safe declaring that they had “plateaued” and that no additional therapy was needed or likely effective.
MurphTheSurf3

Murph – Trump voters are a minority. GOTV for Dems continues to dominate.
AdLib 14 hours ago
Glenn….during the Great Society I lived in the inner city of Chicago and saw how GS policies/programs ravaged families and neighborhoods.
MurphTheSurf3

Ad…I wish I had your optimism.
MurphTheSurf3

Murph – it’s going to take a lot more instances of suffering like that to register with the brainwashed.
AdLib 14 hours ago
Ad…which is why GOTV may not be enough.
MurphTheSurf3

Murph–insurance companies are almost to the point they were before Obamacare as far as stinginess goes. And, if trump manages to get pre-existing conditions tossed, he will have essentially put insurance companies back to the place we were before.
glenn

Glenn…that is how I read it.
MurphTheSurf3

Murph – All you have to do is look at primary results. We just had affirming ones here this week.
AdLib 14 hours ago
Murph–because the GS policies were….?
glenn

In California mostly…….
MurphTheSurf3

I read a piece that explained how weak the Trump argument against pre-existing conditions is.
AdLib 13 hours ago
Glenn…example…Head Start…..a massive boondoggle….no qualifications for “teachers”…jobs as pork to be handed out…massive amounts of embezzlement around lunch programs…shoddy buildings as payoffs for contractors and virtually nothing to show for any of it. What was needed as Pre K in the schools but the politicians could not use the schools as rewards the way they could use Head Start.
MurphTheSurf3

Murph–there are some pockets of Dems winning primaries, especially women. Not sure it’s a wave, but there are some victories. However, I’m with you as far as optimism goes. The longer trump is allowed to be president; the more he “normalizes” his behavior, and the more his supporters think he’s great.
glenn

Ad…..his arguments are all weak…..and it does not seem to matter.
MurphTheSurf3

Murph–except Head Start has been proven to be one of the most successful programs for preparing poor children for school.
glenn

Glenn…normalizing the inane, the insane, the ignorant, the foolish, the mean, the mad…
MurphTheSurf3

Murph–and the criminal. We can’t forget that part.
glenn

Glenn…actually….no…..Comparing Head Start with Pre K……..and most of the positive studies have been shown to be deeply flawed. I was in the middle of the hucksterism.
MurphTheSurf3

The writing on the wall is clear. Repubs including Ryan aren’t quitting because they think there’s a chance of winning.
AdLib 13 hours ago
Murph–I didn’t know that about Head Start.
glenn

Ad….the GOP has not proven very adept at predicting much of anything.
MurphTheSurf3

Murph–thanks for the link. Will read it later.
glenn

Glenn…there is a lot more out there…..
MurphTheSurf3

P.S. Head start, as it is run today, reformed during the Clinton, Bush and Obama years is not the same program I experienced…actually that very pre-K model that should have been in place in the GS
MurphTheSurf3

Murph and Ad–hate to be a pessimist again, but even though the GOP has not been very adept at predicting much of anything; they are extremely adept at manipulating the news cycle, obstructionism (think Merrit Garland), and loading the courts. Those are the things that worry me the most.
glenn

Glenn…with you on that…..the court packing is very, very, very worrisome…most federal judges in history in the first two years of any administration.
MurphTheSurf3

Murph–so Head Start is working today?
glenn

Glenn….generally, yes….but HS today is nothing like the beast of the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s
MurphTheSurf3

The Manafort trials begin just before election time. That will make a big impact for the Blue Wave.
AdLib 13 hours ago
Murph–okay.
glenn

Manfort? Whose that? No one here knows.
MurphTheSurf3

Ad….people are amazingly stupid and there is no quick fix.
MurphTheSurf3

Ad–maybe, maybe not. The average joe could care less about Manafort, or the Mueller investigation. It’s all just a conspiracy against trump. And, he has most republicans believing his shit.
glenn

trump has most republicans believing his shit.
glenn

Glenn….and you and I are in the localities where this is just how it is.
MurphTheSurf3

Worry for the sake of worry is not constructive. All metrics and races have affirmed Dem success.
AdLib 13 hours ago
Ad…..how did those metrics spell out 2016…Clinton as President.
MurphTheSurf3

I am no longer mincing words.
MurphTheSurf3

Murph–exactly. It’s going to be very interesting in GA when the governor’s race begins. The repubs still have to choose a candidate; they will have a primary run-off sometime this month.
glenn

Murph – Too much unfounded pessimism from my POV. When the Manafort trial is EVERYWHERE as it will be, most Americans will know what’s up. And Trump and Fox will be going nuts about it.
AdLib 13 hours ago
Glenn…I like your Dem candidate but she is going to scare the living hell out of white Georgia…..and black Georgia of late has not been voting in the numbers they will need.
MurphTheSurf3

Ad–Murph and I are not worrying for the sake of worrying. As Murph says, court packing is now happening; the most judicial appointments. Also, the SCOTUS ruling last week on the bakery. I don’t think that’s worrying for the sake of worrying.
glenn

Ad….sorry, but you are a bright guy who hob knobs with bright people….most people have NO idea what is going on and will not be tuned in when the trials start.
MurphTheSurf3

Only an informed, committed, and wise electorate can remedy our current morass……good luck.

Murph – The polls weren’t off extraordinarily in general in 2016, Hillary did win by 3 million. And there weren’t Dems winning Red Senate seats then.

Murph–I agree. She does have some baggage regarding some loans from her campaign funds in her last election. The repubs are going to smear her every which way til Sunday.

Ad–We’re going to have to agree to disagree about Dems’ chances in the midterms. I appreciate your optimism; I’m just going to worry until the results come in.

It turned on only 70k votes. Not a massive difference from Hillary winning all those…had she campaigned in those states.
