Vox Populi, our live weekly chat about the week’s events begins tonight at 7:00pm PDT. Hope to see you then!
AdLib 4 hours ago
Don’t forget to say “Hi!” or “GiuliOhNoi!” when you arrive.
AdLib 3 hours ago
Hey glenn!
AdLib 3 hours ago
Hey Ad! GuiliOhNoi! Maybe it should be GuiliOhYes! After all, he is showing what a liar trump is.
glenn

For us it is “OhYesi!” For Trump and anyone with an appetite, “OhNoi!”

AdLib 3 hours ago
I did read something interesting the other day that said PBO also violated campaign finance laws and had to pay an $850,000 fine.
glenn

Really? Hadn’t heard that!
AdLib 3 hours ago
Just checked it out, it was a $375k fine which is very big.

AdLib 3 hours ago
Sorry, $375,000, which was one of the largest fines ever. Yeah, I just looked it up. The article was in Politico.
glenn

Oops, guess both of us had the same thought. I was just going to give you the link, and there you are, right on top of it.
glenn

Here are the details, they were serious violations: The FEC says the Obama campaign failed to disclose the sources of 1,300 large donations, which together accounted for nearly $1.9 million. Election Commission rules state campaigns must report donations of $1,000 or more within 20 days of Election Day. Obama for America was also fined for “untimely resolution of excessive contributions,” according to the conciliation agreement, FEC says. The campaign accepted more than $1.3 million in contributions that came from donors who had already given $46,000—the maximum allowed by FEC rules. The campaign eventually refunded the excess cash but did not do so within the 60-day window allotted for resolving such cases, FEC said. In addition to failing to report big donors and excess donations in a timely manner, the Obama campaign incorrectly dated the filings dealing with $85 million in funds, the FEC claims.
AdLib 2 hours ago
It is interesting, though, because you can bet your bottom dollar trump will bring it up. The other interesting article I read this week was in WaPo where they detailed 17 lies that trump keeps repeating.
glenn

So the amount of $130k is a fraction of what was in the Obama case but as long as it’s over tens of thousands, it’s just as serious.
AdLib 2 hours ago
I’m looking for the article now about trump’s lies.
glenn

Would like to see it!
AdLib 2 hours ago
Just saw breaking news that Trump is documented knowing about the Stormy payment months before Trump denied knowing and much longer before Giuliani claims Trump knew.
AdLib 2 hours ago
Yeah, it seems Obama’s violations were serious. So, no matter how salacious the details from trump’s payment to Stormy, once again, he’ll skate, because you know for sure, the repubs aren’t going to do anything about it. Not to mention the fact that rudy keeps saying it was “personal”, and had nothing to do with the campaign.
glenn

It’s very interesting, when the Stormy Daniels case first came up, it seemed small and overlooked, like it would be quickly passed by. Now, it looks to be at the forefront of taking down Trump.
AdLib 2 hours ago
IMO, the irony is that trump could’ve saved himself $130,000 because even if it had come out, his cult followers wouldn’t have cared. If they didn’t care about the “pussy grabbing”, they sure as hell wouldn’t care about him actually paying someone. As it is now, it would’ve been Stormy’s fault. I really don’t think this is going to take him down. The repubs will continue to shrug their shoulders and look away.
glenn

So while I agree Trump will try that tactic too, the facts are blowing up the ground right under Trump’s feet wherever he runs to.
AdLib 2 hours ago
At the time he paid off Stormy though, Trump was on the ropes over the Access Hollywood tapes and I’d guess that he thought this could be a knockout punch with those on the fence who were leaning his way.
AdLib 2 hours ago
Yeah, I agree that may be what his handlers thought, but I don’t think it would have made a difference, really.
glenn

Okay, found an article about trump’s lies. It’s not the same one I was talking about, but this one shows lies that he keeps repeating, and how many times he’s repeated them.

?

glenn

It may have but the 1-2 punch of Comey coming out on re-opening the Hillary investigation and Russia/Wikileaks may have still been too much for Hillary to overcome.
AdLib 2 hours ago
Hey PPO! What do you think of Drooliani?
AdLib 2 hours ago
Hi all Sorry I;m late
pinkpantheroz

Thanks for the link, glenn. Have it opened in a window now!
AdLib 2 hours ago
He shouldn’t have been released from Shady Palms, Ad.
pinkpantheroz

I knew Repubs would one day regret Reagan letting everyone out of mental asylums. Now one is Trump’s lawyer.
AdLib 2 hours ago
Hey PPO–how goes it? How is Mrs. PPO?
glenn

glenn – That link didn’t work, maybe it’s not the full URL?
AdLib 2 hours ago
Ad–Yeah, now rudy will be known as “noun, verb, trump didn’t do it.”
glenn

Hi glenn! She’s doing as well as one can expect these days. Bits falling off and the like. Not too bad, though
pinkpantheroz

“Whatchu talkin’ about, glenn?”

AdLib 2 hours ago
WOW!
pinkpantheroz

PPO–Give her my best.
glenn

Ad–Mr. Crazy Eyes himself.
glenn

It’s kind of creepy how many photos there are of Giuliani looking crazy!
AdLib 2 hours ago
Ad–It was either Trevor Noah or Seth Myers who did a whole montage of rudy’s crazy eyes.
glenn

Another ‘Only the Best people’ hire.
pinkpantheroz

ANyone with friends or relatives on the Big Island?
pinkpantheroz

PPO–I have relatives on Oahu, but not on the big island.
glenn

This was the video I posted of Giuliani defending Trump on tv:

AdLib 2 hours ago
Ad–looks about right.
glenn

Hope she settles down
pinkpantheroz

Ad, class! perfect
pinkpantheroz

Is that on twitter? I don’t see POVs tweets!
pinkpantheroz

No, don’t know anyone on the Big Island, it is very worrisome what’s going on. Saw video of a split with lava flowing in the middle of a road and community.
AdLib 2 hours ago
PPO – I know, it’s weird, the Twitter widget works on Apple devices and Internet Explorer but not in Firefox!
AdLib 2 hours ago
One other chuckle I got this week was lyin’ ryan having to take back the resignation of the House chaplain. That was really funny. Ryan sends an aide to get the resignation, the priest says I’ll resign right now (in a huff), the aide says, “Okay”. Then all hell breaks loose on ryan, the priest says, “What did I do wrong?”, rescinds his resignation, and ryan accepts the recission (if that’s a word). Classic repub behavior lately. First it is, then it isn’t.
glenn

Does anyone know what might happen if it blows big time? Looks ominous
pinkpantheroz

Ad, I follow it on Twitter, but the posts fromPOV don’t come up on my screen unless I search for it.
pinkpantheroz

PPO–Didn’t this happen about 20-25 years ago? The lava flowed right down over houses and cars. Many people lost everything. If it blows big time, then there won’t be much left, probably.
glenn

glenn – So Ryan gets to be remembered for trying to screw a chaplain…then being outmaneuvered by him and beaten back.
AdLib 2 hours ago
Bad for the people there, glenn, and tourism
pinkpantheroz

PPO – I’ll figure it out, thanks for bringing it up.
AdLib 2 hours ago
Ad–Yup, ain’t it great?
glenn

Hope Murph shows up, the news came out yesterday that China won’t buy ANY soybeans from US…many of those MO farmers who love Trump grow soybeans and were already suffering.
AdLib 2 hours ago
Ryan, the sniveling cretin. Would deny his own Church’s guy as chaplain to satisfy the SBs. They want Joel Osteen to have the gig! WOW!
pinkpantheroz

Due to the tariffs of course. And I wonder if those Trump cultists are finally figuring out their Great White Savior is really the con men everyone else told them he was.
AdLib 2 hours ago
PPO–Yes, I feel so bad for the people there. It’s not easy living under a volcano. As for tourism, about 10-15 years ago, my husband and I went to visit my sister and brother-in-law and went to the big island to actually walk the parts of the island that got covered by lava last time. We actually walked on roads, and came to stop signs, and everything. There were no houses, but you could see the volcano still spewing lava when it got dark. It was really eerie and spectacular at the same time when the lava hit the ocean. The ocean bubbled up from the flames and there were towering plumes of fire.
glenn

Ad, I thought of Murph when I saw the cancellation of $60 Billion Soy orders. Tough shit to big farmers who voted trump, but hard on the ancillary traders
pinkpantheroz

I hear Ryan and/or the teabaggers in the House are planning two big things right now, trying to impeach Rosenstein and making one last effort to destroy Obamacare. I don’t know but in an election year, both would seem very unlikely.
AdLib 2 hours ago
glenn spectacular, but scary. Hope it subsides soon
pinkpantheroz

Ad and PPO–Yeah, I thought of Murph as soon as I read that article too. Hey, so much winning!
glenn

All those extra Jobs, g!
pinkpantheroz

PPO– Yeah, I hope it subsides too. Those people could lose everything. It’s a shame.
glenn

I never visited the Big Island but have been to Maui, Kauai and Honolulu. I love Hawaii and hope the damage from this eruption is limited.
AdLib 2 hours ago
folks better return all those rocks
pinkpantheroz

Has Spanky sent any messages to Hi? Yeah, right. Probably to check if his golf courses are ok
pinkpantheroz

PPO – Gas prices have jumped up too along with overall inflation, how do Trump voters love that? I remember the dogpile on Obama when gas prices went up a lot, here’s oil-buddy Trump in the WH watching gas prices go up a lot and no outcry.
AdLib 2 hours ago
PPO – I’ll bet Trump is happy if other golf courses are damaged, he’s probably pro-lava.
AdLib 2 hours ago
Ad–well they don’t have to worry about destroying Obamacare. According to the lies that trump keeps repeating, he already destroyed Obamacare when he got rid of the individual mandate. That was one of the lies he keeps repeating on WaPo’s list. As for Rosenstein, good for him for standing up to the repubs when he told them he would not stand for extortion.
glenn

PPO–Spanky hasn’t sent any messages to HI because he probably doesn’t even know what’s happening. If it isn’t on foxsocallednews, it ain’t happening in trumpland.
glenn

glenn – Maybe we can benefit from Trump’s voracious ego. If he emotionally needs to insist he’s already killed Obamacare, maybe he won’t push any further efforts against it? If that’s the case, a Dem Congress and Pres in 2020 can fix it all.
AdLib 2 hours ago
Ad, I just don’t get gas prices. During the last oil crisis, Oil was nearly $150 a barrel. Now, at $75 a barrel, the price per gallon is the same! go figure
pinkpantheroz

Ad–Yeah, that’s what I thought, too. How are the repubs going to kill Obamacare if he’s already killed it? Oh well, it will be entertaining to see how he twists what he said to say he never said it.
glenn

glenn – Unless someone in Hawaii was sexually harassed by Trump, he may not ever pay attention to what’s going on there.
AdLib 2 hours ago
Surely on of the Miss Hawaii has a cancelled check somewhere
pinkpantheroz

one
pinkpantheroz

PPO – Great point! The oil companies are clearly rigging the price of gas, knowing there is no cop on the beat who would stop them.
AdLib 2 hours ago
Ad–The repubs are getting desperate. Trying to kill Obamacare for the 6,785th time is just about the only “policy” they have left. That, and making sure trump is “protected.” I love how ryan is saying that if Dems are elected, they are going to hold trump accountable. DUH! That’s why people will vote for them, idiot!
glenn

“Tsunami Daniels of Hawaii has just sued Donald Trump for sexual harassment”
AdLib 2 hours ago
pinkpantheroz

glenn – With McCain out and at least a couple of Repubs against it, repeal of Obamacare couldn’t pass today.
AdLib 2 hours ago
Ad–right. I’ll tell you what, though. If I was someone who was sexually harassed by trump, I’d hire Avenetti to be my lawyer. Not only is he a hunk; he seems to be getting under trump’s skin almost as much as Comey and Mueller.
glenn

Ad, true. Some of the red states have discovered that their constituents are benefitting from OCare and are treading a careful line
pinkpantheroz

glenn – And what’s insane about Trump supporters is that he wants to take their health care away but has no replacement so they can just give up and die if some health emergency happens to them.
AdLib 2 hours ago
Ad–I agree. Trying to repeal Obamacare again is just for show. Something to show the rubes that they’re “doing” something.
glenn

glenn, He may end up the Dem candidate in 2020! Talk about exposure right now!
pinkpantheroz

Ad–I know, and if they don’t die quickly, they can go bankrupt trying to pay their medical bills.
glenn

glenn – The whole point of having a Congress is to hold the president accountable! Ryan doesn’t even understand what Congress is supposed to do!
AdLib 2 hours ago
PPO–Do you mean Avenetti? Yeah, that would be funny! Actually, I think he may be overqualified, according to the trumpsters. He’s smart, and he actually works for a living. I think we should have a Stormy/Avenetti ticket. Stormy for President, and Avenetti for VP. He could be her “attack dog.”
glenn

NO other first World country does health care like the USA. Oh, sorry, USA is no longer 1st world. Few banana republics have no socialised health plans. BTW CUBA has better healthcare than the USA!
pinkpantheroz

glenn – I am so glad that Avenetti is on the stage, driving Trump crazy and accelerating the investigation against him and his cronies. I have seen him overdo it a little here and there but that’s easily forgiveable considering how much good he’s doing.
AdLib 2 hours ago
Ad–You’re mistaken. The whole poi.nt of having a Congress is to hold DEM presidents accountable. IOIYAR.
glenn

glenn, wow, what a concept. Vote for the Bodice Buster and the Zip Buster!
pinkpantheroz

PPO – Yes, red states are even quietly moving towards expanding medicare, including deep red TN. They may be hateful racists who despise the ACA because it’s Obama’s but they’re showing that they want what it offers.
AdLib 2 hours ago
PPO–LOL!
glenn

Ad–Yeah, I really like Avenetti’s tactics, even if he does get carried away sometimes.
glenn

I don’t know that Avenetti would go that far, to run for Pres but he has said he would look at running for office if people wanted him to. Imagine him as a Senator, on the Intelligence Committee with Dems in the majority!
AdLib 2 hours ago
PPO–Yeah, and Cuba has better classic cars than the US!
glenn

Ad–I really don’t want Avenetti or Stormy for any office, although Senator on the IC would be terrific.
glenn

glenn, a great ploy – taking front and center from Trump on TV, outtalking him, outsmarting him and generally getting in his cowardly face at every opportunity. And for once the MSM are helping, bu having him 24/7 somewhere!
pinkpantheroz

Stormy could be Secretary of Clapback. She is pretty clever and seems to get the best of anyone who attacks her on Twitter. She just smacked down Roseanne.
AdLib 2 hours ago
bloody Roseanne! Hear her ratings are going down faster than Stormy!
pinkpantheroz

PPO–You gotta admit, although Avenetti is great, it doesn’t take much to outsmart trump. Avenetti has trump’s number, though, with getting in his face, and not going away. I just wish more Dems would do that. I’m so sick of seeing trump sycophants on the talk shows spouting their lies, yet there don’t seem to be any Dems doing what Avenetti is doing.
glenn

Ad–OMG–Stormy as Secretary of Clapback. She is very clever, and her smackdown of Roseanne was beautiful!
glenn

Yet the MSM also attacked Michele Wolf for speaking truths they refuse to and have slid backwards to avoiding the word “lie” when Trump lies. On his new Stormy payment lie, the NYT said Trump “reversed” his position or something like that. No, he lied to America and is lying again.
AdLib 2 hours ago
Hey, maybe Stormy should have a series competing against Roseanne since that show is falling in the ratings.
AdLib 2 hours ago
Ad–I know, I cringed when the WHCA president wrote that letter pandering to smokey-eyes sarah. It was disgusting to see the president of that organization grovel that way.
glenn

Ad–Stormy in the Suburbs?
glenn

glenn, that was a disgrace. WHCA hired her in the first place!
pinkpantheroz

Avenetti is brash but doesn’t bluster, he doesn’t say something that isn’t likely. That’s a big plus for him, he may be loud and everywhere but for the most part, most of his statements about what will happen have been shown to come true.
AdLib 2 hours ago
PPO–Yeah, they hired her, so they should’ve known she wasn’t going to hold back. Apparently, that’s her schtick, even though I’d never heard of her until the dinner.
glenn

Ad–Yup. Avenetti is the opposite of trump. And, did I mention he’s a hunk?
glenn

glenn – “Storm Watch”?
AdLib 2 hours ago
Ad–even more salacious. What are we going to watch her do? How far will she go this week? Watch to see!
glenn

glenn – And that corrupt Maggie Haberman too, like the WHCA, they’re in bed with the Trump admin because access is everything. So many wonderful reporters out there doing great things but there are still those who sell themselves to p much cheaper than Stormy did.
AdLib 2 hours ago
to Trump
AdLib 2 hours ago
glenn – “How low can Trump go? Watch this week’s episode of “Stormy Knows Best”!
AdLib 2 hours ago
Do you think Giuliani will last?
AdLib an hour ago
Ad–I will never understand why the WHCA hires a comedian to do a roast, yet get all upset when said comedian roasts anyone! I think they ought to just stick with giving out scholarships, etc., and forget the roast part.
glenn

Hey Choicelady!
AdLib an hour ago
Could someone please chopper Trump over the volcano and ‘accidentally’ drop him in?
pinkpantheroz

CL!
pinkpantheroz

Hey CL! Good to “see” you.
glenn

PPO–Give new meaning to a “drop-in visit”.
glenn

Ad, Big Giuli is the new smoke and mirrors clown. 2 months, or till impeachment, whichever comes first. ‘Only the beat people’ y’know
pinkpantheroz

glenn – The bottom line is that those who run the WHCA are cowards and as soon as the RW came down on Wolf, they turned tail and ran for cover. WH correspondents are all about access to the current admin and they will trash their so-called principles to protect their access.
AdLib an hour ago
Best people!
pinkpantheroz

They could use Trump to plug up the volcano, that’s a win-win!
AdLib an hour ago
Ad–will trump sign the NDA or won’t he? Is Cohen’s house in danger of being foreclosed?
glenn

Hi evryone – sorry to be late AGAIN!!
choicelady

CL – No worries, we’re here!
AdLib an hour ago
Hey Ad and glenn and PPO! Good to see everyone.
choicelady

Ad–Trashing their so-called principles to protect their access has been evident for a long time, but never more so than during trump’s campaign, and now his so-called presidency.
glenn

Ad – I LOVE the idea of Trump plugging a volcano!
choicelady

You’re just in time, cl! I’ve got to dash . Afternoon shopping to do. Everyone take care.. Cheers for now and keep up the fight!
pinkpantheroz

glenn – “Will Michael Avenetti give Trump a very painful noogie? Watch next week’s, ‘Storm Patrol’!”
AdLib an hour ago
Ad–My prediction is that rudy is here until his eyes pop. Maybe he’ll be replaced by Christie.
glenn

glenn – I just saw on Twitter that MAYBE the WHPC dust up actually gave some reporters a spine. Not all, but some.
choicelady

CL–which reporters?
glenn

Sorry to pass in the night, glenn – hope you[‘re well!
choicelady

CL – Dropping Trump into a volcano might make it called a “toxic dump” but since the EPA is now encouraging those, I think we’ll be okay.
AdLib an hour ago
Bye, PPO! Take care!
glenn

glenn – The CNN crowd mostly.
choicelady

Good night PPO! Sorry to miss you!
choicelady

Seeya PPO!
AdLib an hour ago
Ad – that is TOO funny – Trump as toxic waste.
choicelady

CL–well, they need to grow a spine in booking guests, too. I’m sick of seeing trump sycophants day in and day out, with nary a Dem in sight.
glenn

So CL, what do you think about the latest Giuliani self-immolation?
AdLib an hour ago
glenn – totally agreed1
choicelady

Ad – I’m loving every minute of this wreck. Giulianni is the best thing to happen to the USA while the worst to happen to Trump.
choicelady

Ad–rudy’s just trying to get a tan, you know “bake” a little.
glenn

glenn – LOL!
choicelady

glenn – CNN must have a split personality, they often bring on Trump goons to shout over everyone and blather propaganda. Meanwhile, Trump has trashed them. Maybe Stockholm Syndrom?
AdLib an hour ago
Syndrome
AdLib an hour ago
Ad and CL–and on that note, I’m checking out, too. Hope to see you next week, CL. Take care, Ad.
glenn

Ad – I think this has been going on since Watergate – the liberals, insofar as they exist – seek to “prove” they can talk to anyone.
choicelady

glenn – good night! I’ll try to get in earlier so we can catch up. Be well!
choicelady

Well – PPO is gone, glenn is gone. I’m really glad to see you, AdLib. How are things?
choicelady

Giuliani is Extra Crispy and will be sold in buckets soon.
AdLib an hour ago
LOL!!! Not to ME he won’t!
choicelady

Great to see you too CL! Things are fine, a bit hectic lately but okay. How about you and hubby?
AdLib an hour ago
Greg is still having pain in his NON surgical leg, but we might have solved the problem. Time will tell. Otherwise we’re pretty OK. I had the flu for WEEKS, but I’m good to go now.
choicelady

AND I had the shot!
choicelady

How is softball?
choicelady

CL – Good point, there is something annoying about those who equate “liberal” with “tolerating bad people”. Two very different things.
AdLib an hour ago
Ad – that is a very good distinction. I like that.
choicelady

So glad to hear that you’re feeling better FINALLY! That was a horrible flu you had. Hmm…maybe his alignment is off after the procedure, does he have a good chiropractor to go to?
AdLib an hour ago
The “little” one is playing softball on Varsity in high school, leads her league in home runs and is doing great. Not pitching much because Seniors get the priority but travel season starts back up at the end of the month so big tourneys starting then.
AdLib an hour ago
He does see a chiro (our “crunch”), but he also has an infection. I feared it was staph, but the doc today said it looked as if he’d had a boil that is getting better. His orthopedic surgeon has him on steroids (and yes, he has “roid rage”) to deal with a different problem, a calcification that has hitched up the muscles. We shall see. I’m treating the infection topically.
choicelady

Oh, wow – sorry she’s not pitching, but this all sounds great. I cannot belive she is so grown up! Let me know if you’re up this way?
choicelady

Wow, that’s so much to handle! For both of you! So sorry you both had to deal with that roid rage, I know he’s got to regret it and that’s tough for you to endure when you’re caring for him.
AdLib an hour ago
I pretty much ignore his anger – we both know why it exists, so it’s less of a problem just for that. It’s only 5 days, and he’s almost done, so if it helps, great.
choicelady

She’s pitching some but there are two senior pitchers on the team, though she’s as good or better, she has to wait until next year to pitch reguarly on the team…at least she’ll be the top pitcher on the team for the next 3 years!
AdLib an hour ago
Just knowing WHY someone is acting like a total jerk makes it easier.
choicelady

CL – So Trump is on steroids?
AdLib an hour ago
Woo hoo! I bet she will be fantastic!
choicelady

No – Trump is on stupid.
choicelady

She had a great game yesterday, out-hit everyone on both teams.
AdLib an hour ago
She is AWESOME!!!
choicelady

Hey, would you be around for Vox next week? I need a guest host.
AdLib an hour ago
I think so – no reason not.
choicelady

Hope you’re doing something really cool!
choicelady

Great!
AdLib an hour ago
My annual outing. You know?
AdLib an hour ago
OK – but please remind me. I’m sort of overwhelmed with stuff. I can make it happen!
choicelady

I will do that!
AdLib an hour ago
Oh that’s fine!!! Yes, plan on it with a reminder!
choicelady

So with all this fake news and all, isn’t HOPE needed more now than ever?
AdLib an hour ago
And lies and propaganda…
AdLib an hour ago
And Russia-bought ads…
AdLib an hour ago
I think so, but it’s hard right now. Everyone is absorbed in their own stuff, and Trudy Schaeffer, from the League, is dying, It’s got all of us out of whack. She is SO missed already.
choicelady

Oh no, so sorry to hear that!
AdLib an hour ago
I think the MA law gives us great hope.
choicelady

Yes, I wonder too if it could be applied to Facebook and social media ads that can be accessed in a state.
AdLib an hour ago
I am retiring as a paid lobbyist in Jan. 2019. That doesn’t mean I can’t work the bill!
choicelady

Trent Lange from Clean Money Campaign is bringing his DISCLOSE work to social media for the same reason.
choicelady

Great because I need an unpaid lobbyist to help with HOPE! That’s all I can afford! Seriously, happy for you if it means you’ll be happier.
AdLib an hour ago
I’ll be more on my own, and that’s fine.
choicelady

I remember Trent of course. He’s going in a good direction.
AdLib an hour ago
I’d like to get you and Trent together soon. He’s been reticent about our work, but dammit – he OWES me!
choicelady

I’ll do an ‘intro” again so you can meet up down there.
choicelady

Like the lone gunslinger who comes to town, takes out the bad guys then moseys out of town to somewhere new.
AdLib an hour ago
Ad – exactly!
choicelady

That would be great. I think that in this environment, it is more needed than ever to hold people accountable and pull them into the light when they try to deceive and manipulate voters.
AdLib an hour ago
I think the MA law will help us a lot here.
choicelady

Yes, always easier when the road has already been paved a bit.
AdLib an hour ago
Oddly, CA is less brave about progressive issues than some states in the east and midwest. Having something to point to is always good.

And as we discussed, it’s the kind of thing that could spread once it succeeds in a big state like CA.
AdLib an hour ago
Exactly.

Think of what that would do to the Trump Party and Russian interference, when lies are systematicaly exposed and countered.
AdLib an hour ago
BAM! That would be awesome!
choicelady

We coud probably finance the annual budget on GoFundMe! So many people out there want to return to sanity and shut down the wall to wall lies and propaganda out there.
AdLib an hour ago
Anyway, you know all of this. So what are you working on now?
AdLib an hour ago
My nephew is doing something similar to Cambridge Analytica. We are going to hire his firm to do a cheap outreach to people interested in our work. The company wants to do socially responsible stuff based on demographic assessments of those who would like what we do. He might be useful to HOPE.

I’m doing felony expungements for people who served their time in county jail. The law exists, but helping people “walk” through the process is something our congregations could do well. That’s part of what we want him to promote – actual solutions for people that change their lives.

Very cool. I’m all for micro-targeting and all, it’s just when people’s private info is secretly stolen, I have a problem.
AdLib an hour ago
Ad – His company based in Philly is being careful. Only things already made public will be used.
choicelady

Big impact on people’s lives, to do that. You’re the best! And what about all those convicted of crimes connected to marijuana? How does legalization affect them?
AdLib an hour ago
According to Facebook, I wasn’t considered remotely interesting to CA!!! I can’t decide if I’m relieved or pissed!
choicelady

Being your nephew, I assumed that he would be a good guy about it.
AdLib an hour ago
Ad – Prop. 47 is good IF the time was served in county jail. Ther is a special process for those who were in prison.
choicelady

Ad – I’d NOT make that assumption about my nephew!!! I am relieved he’s doing good stuff. He hasn’t always.
choicelady

The Planet’s Facebook account was among those scraped but fortunately, no personal info on there!
AdLib an hour ago
Ad – whew!
choicelady

So there are still people in prison in CA for marijuana now?
AdLib an hour ago
i don’t know. I think not, but I’m not sure. I do know there is a process, and we want to help that along.
choicelady

Got it! Nephew okay now but keep an eye peeled!
AdLib an hour ago
You know all the spam you get – even I get! – on penis enhacements and getting bigger boobs? THAT was my nephew. When he stopped doing that, my spam filter was almost empty.
choicelady

CL – I just haven’t heard about whatever is or isn’t happening on that. Seems like prison population should go down, non-violent offenders in pot-related “crimes” should be freed, all good things.
AdLib an hour ago
Does your nephew have big boobs now?
AdLib an hour ago
Ad – I’m still researching what is the REALITY of post 47 for real people.
choicelady

Ad – from his Facebook page, no boobs.
choicelady

So it’s not a known story right now how things change with those convicted after 47? That would seem to be a big story.
AdLib an hour ago
I’m trying to find out. Oddly there’s not a lot of info.
choicelady

A friend of a friend was into that as well, made a fortune but became very screwed up as a person.
AdLib an hour ago
Became obsessed with the enlargement and other stuff he was spamming on others and spun out as a human being.
AdLib an hour ago
My nephew was, too. He was in hot pursuit of money and discovered that it’s a very competitive arena, and it doesn’t buy happiness. I think he’s a LOT happier now. He was filthy rich for a time – lived in Vancouver in a gorgeous condo. MUCH more modest now in Philly.

I have NO idea if he used the supplements he sold. I hope not.
choicelady

He just had his 38th birthday. I hope he settles himself one of these days.
choicelady

CL – Sounds like the friend of a friend. Though he did sell himself on that crap, kind of like a meth dealer becoming an addict.
AdLib an hour ago
I don’t think my nephew is that dumb. But I really don’t know.
choicelady

Just depends if people who have been schemers can trade that in for the big picture.
AdLib an hour ago
Well, dear friend, I’m already fading. Had lots of wine this evening, and I’m ready for bed even now. I’ll keep you posted on what I learn from Kathay and Helen about HOPE, and I will do the intro with Trent next week. In the meantime, take care. I’ll sub Friday, then we can catch up. When do you depart?

This guy was like a lot of con men, like Trump, after a while, you can start believing your own BS even if you’re smart (which Trump isn’t).
AdLib 44 minutes ago
No – Trump is NOT smart!
choicelady

STILL believes his own BS!
choicelady

Please do and as always, thank you so much! Will email you with details! Wonderful seeing you here and thanks for hosting next Friday!
AdLib 43 minutes ago
My pleasure. Love all around! Be well! Signing off!
