Vox Populi, our weekly live chat about the week’s events begins tonight at 7:00pm PDT. Hope to see you then!
AdLib 7 days ago
Hey! It’s the Founder of ISIS here! How’s it going Ad?
KillgoreTrout

Hey Ad, KT–how’s it going?
glenn

Hey glenn! How goes it?
KillgoreTrout

KT–Well, I’m not quite as busy as you; what with founding ISIS and all, but I have released my tax returns!
glenn

Well that’s good to hear. Yeah, my founding keeps me pretty busy these days.
KillgoreTrout

Don’t forget to pray five times a day, and when you do face trump….oops, I mean Mecca!
glenn

Hey all!
AdLib 7 days ago
Hey Ad!
glenn

Hey Ad! Oh never mind, I was just being sarcastic!
KillgoreTrout

I am the founder of Icees!
AdLib 7 days ago
Ad–oh slurp!
glenn

I find them at every 7-11!
AdLib 7 days ago
Ooooo! I love those! Do you have Cherry and Grape?
KillgoreTrout

Man, Trumpo is really losing it.
KillgoreTrout

Ad–do you have Iceels too? You know, we have to call things by their correct names!
glenn

And this month’s special flavor, “Radical Islamic Berrylicious”!
AdLib 7 days ago
Not if you’re Trump!
KillgoreTrout

Mmmmmm!
KillgoreTrout

KT–I’m not sure trump ever had “it” to begin with. I truly am beginning to believe this whole “campaign” was revenge against President Obama’s WHC dinner speech, and now it’s just eaten trump alive!
glenn

Ad–sounds delicious. Do we slurp them or shoot them?
glenn

Ha! Good point. I can still Trump glowring at Obama after the president made fun of him!
KillgoreTrout

Trump listens to Rush, and Alex Jones and hears these wild conspiracy theories, and then the next day he uses them in his campaign.
KillgoreTrout

Trump seems to be doubling down on rallying the lunatic fringe then claiming the election was rigged…and maybe becoming their leader?
AdLib 7 days ago
So…guys. Do you think trump will release his tax returns? I’m positive he will continue his “campaign”, no matter what the polls say. However, he has shocked me before, so he may again, by dropping out.
glenn

I thought about that Ad. The “cheating,” thing would really have his base riled up after he loses.
KillgoreTrout

Ad–he has to double down on the lunatic fringe; it’s all he’s got left.
glenn

Glenn – No way, Trump will never release them because they’d destroy his whole BS campaign. Prove he’s a fraud.
AdLib 7 days ago
Ad–what more proof do people need that he’s a fraud? Except for his rabid base, most people have already figured out that he’s a fraud. Including a lot of republicans. “Many people say” that he’s a fraud, so it must be true, right?
glenn

KT – No surprise that Trump would love to exit as a poser, trying to to bring down the whole electoral system and incite violence.
AdLib 7 days ago
I had to really laugh out loud when I saw Trump say Obama was the founder of ISIS, because the way he said, he sounded like Rain Man……..Obama is founder of ISIS….the founder. he’s the founder…the founder! I could just picture Dustin Hoffman saying it, again and again while looking down at the ground!
KillgoreTrout

Did you all see that trump supporter calling the media “traitors” because they report trump’s actual words?
glenn

In all seriousness, I do believe that he is a dangerous person.
KillgoreTrout

Yeah, how dare those damend media people repeat what I say!
KillgoreTrout

KT–good analogy/comparison. All this time, I’ve been trying to figure out who trump sounds like when he repeats everything. You’re right; he sounds just like the rain man.
glenn

It cracks me up glenn.
KillgoreTrout

He talks to his “fans,” as if they were children. He really does.
KillgoreTrout

KT–yeah, it is funny. Then again, this man is running for president of the United States, and he can’t make a speech without sounding like the rain man. And that’s on a good day.
glenn

glenn – That’s why I think the polls are finally falling strongly for Hillary, Trump has fully convinced so many that he is a lunatic. Those voters won’t be changing back.
AdLib 7 days ago
KT–That’s because he’s just a child himself, despite his chronological age.
glenn

Ad–saw some articles today that Hillary is over 300 on electoral college votes. Hope it stays that way. BTW, do you think Wikkileaks will have an “October surprise” regarding Hillary’s emails? I thought we had seen every email Hillary had ever sent or received!
glenn

He proves it almost every day Ad.
KillgoreTrout

For sure glenn.
KillgoreTrout

I don’t think wiki really has anything that do Hillary any further harm.
KillgoreTrout

KT–sometimes I think, even if they do, trump will not be able to stand Hillary having the “spotlight”, so he’ll have to come up with something more outrageous to get people talking about him again. I truly hope he keeps it up until November. As Ad says, most people will not all of a sudden decide trump is the better choice.
glenn

The word founder carries with it a strong implication of support. If Obama supports ISIS, why does he kill so many of them? Eh Donnie?
KillgoreTrout

It’s kind of exciting (in an oblique sort of way) looking forward to see what craziness Trump comes up with each day.
KillgoreTrout

I have to say I’m enjoying each new day as Trump hammers a new nail in his coffin.
AdLib 7 days ago
Oh, it’s a real side show. It has that sort of circus freak show quality about it. come See the Lunatic…only 25cents admission! Step right up folks!
KillgoreTrout

KT–HEWITT: But he’s not sympathetic to them. He hates them; he’s trying to kill them. TRUMP: He was the found, his — the way he got out of Iraq was the founding of ISIS. HEWITT: By using the term “founder,” they’re hitting you on this again. Mistake? TRUMP: No, it’s no mistake. Everyone’s liking it. I think they’re liking it. This is from the Washington Post transcript of the Hewitt interview.
glenn

Forgot to put quotes around the transcript, but obviously it ends, with …”I think they’re liking it.”
glenn

And Priebus came out tying the GOP tightly to Trump…on the same day that over 70 top Repubs came out to say he’s a lost cause and the RNC should stop funding him.
AdLib 7 days ago
That kills me….Everybody’s liking it! He doesn’t care at all if it’s false, he just cares if his “fans,” like it. He’s so steeped in social media.
KillgoreTrout

Priebus is sooo full of shit, but he’s got to be one of the most desperate men in America right now.
KillgoreTrout

It is a side show; and I wish the media would quit covering it as though it’s the “main event”. I’ve seen a couple of articles covering analysis of trump’s economic plan vs. Hillary’s,
glenn

He’s Baghdad Bob!
KillgoreTrout

and, of course, trump’s is a mess. We need to see more of the comparisons about the actual plans each candidate has, rather than the idiotic thing trump has said each day.
glenn

glenn- Yes, heard the Hewitt interview and Trump’s insistence that he was being literal screwed up all his apologist drones today. All they could do was answer each question about Trump’s “founder” crap was start with “Hillary” or “Liberal media”. They couldn’t answer and any viewer could see that!
AdLib 7 days ago
KT–yup–that’s all that counts. That his fans like it. In trump’s world, “everybody” is only the people at his rallies. No one else counts. He is in for a rude awakening to the real world in November!
glenn

KT–I think priebus is drinking a lot of Bailey’s with his morning coffee nowadays!
glenn

yeah, all they can do at this point is try to turn the interview around and on to Hillary. I love the smell of desperation in the morning!
KillgoreTrout

if he’s not, he should be!
KillgoreTrout

Ad–well, of course, the liberal media is in the tank for Hillary, and the “clinton spin machine”.
glenn

This election season is certainly unprecedented in so many ways.
KillgoreTrout

KT–and hopefully, trump’s loss will be unprecedented also.
glenn

I wonder if he’ll get 40% of the vote? I don’t think any candidate in recent history has received less than 40%.
KillgoreTrout

Ad–do you think we’ll ever hear the end of Hillary’s emails? What will it take for repubs to put it to rest?
glenn

Did you see though how the MSM is desperately trying to even out the race by making a huge stink about the Mills interview? It’s meaningless!
AdLib 7 days ago
Gotta get those horse race dollars Ad!
KillgoreTrout

Ad–I missed the Mills interview; can you tell me about it?
glenn

glenn – Hewitt is now part of the liberal media, I guess.
AdLib 7 days ago
Ad–never mind; just googled it. However, I do remember reading that Mills did nothing wrong because she wasn’t working for the Clinton foundation; she was a volunteer, and she didn’t do it on State Dept. time; she was on either a leave of absence or a vacation.
glenn

HA!
KillgoreTrout

Ad–speaking of the foundation, though, won’t Hillary and/or Bill have to cut all ties with the foundation while she is president? And what about trump and his businesses? Aren’t presidents supposed to put their personal businesses on hold while they’re in office because of conflict of interest? Funny, I haven’t heard that question asked of either of them, have you?
glenn

Do you guys think the Donald will avoid the butterfly net long enough to debate Hillary?
KillgoreTrout

glenn- nope, Trump needs to talk about the emails because that’s all he’s got. And consider, Obama’s not running but he made this big deal about attacking him? What does it mean? He’s tanking so badly that now he can only focus on doing well with Repubs who are fleeing him. He is going to get worse because he can’t even hold together the GOP behind him.
AdLib 7 days ago
KT–maybe for one; but he’s already “working the refs” by trying to dictate who the moderators will be. So, if he doesn’t get the moderators he wants, he won’t debate.
glenn

I hope he actually does one. That’s really all it would take. Hillary will depants him, on nationwide television!
KillgoreTrout

Ad–yeah, I read a comment on one of the blogs today that said Hillary is the only presidential candidate in history who has had to show her emails.
glenn

KT – He’ll probably get 40% but not too much more (maybe low 40’s at best). But he’s in the 30’s in a growing number of states so maybe!
AdLib 7 days ago
He’d be the first, I think, to get less than 40%. It could happen, and I sure hope it does.
KillgoreTrout

KT–I truly don’t think Hillary would have to say a word in the debates. All she has to do is stand there while trump rants, and the moderators try to stop him!
glenn

KT–well there you go; it’s something trump would be the first at–to get less than 40% of the vote. That’s a good thing, isn’t it?
glenn

She certainly won’t fall for his reality TV tactics, that’s for sure. All she has to do is stick to policy discussion.
KillgoreTrout

That would be a great thing glenn. That might just allow dems to gain some seats in the house.
KillgoreTrout

glenn- Exactly, Mills didn’t do anything that looked like corruption. The MSM, aided by the GOP are constructing a straw man to attack Hillary. But between that convoluted BS and voting for a lunatic to have his finger on the nuclear buttons? Not a game they can win.
AdLib 7 days ago
Yeah, I don’t think she should answer any of his taunts. Just say, “Here is my economic plan”. I don’t think she should even address trump, just the moderators; it would drive him over the edge.
glenn

Oh, it really would. Trump hates it when he’s not the center of attention.
KillgoreTrout

When Bush’s national security advisers say someone is dangerous, they must really be dangerous.
KillgoreTrout

Hey Murph. Enjoying the Trump circus?
KillgoreTrout

Ad–exactly. The other straw man I saw today is that in Hillary’s tax returns, it shows that 97% of their charitable contributions went to the Clinton Foundation. My question is, “so what”? Why shouldn’t they support their own foundation?
glenn

The Main Streamers need to do all they can to have a horse race that closes toward the finish line…that draws readers, listeners, viewers who are the fulcrum upon which ad rates are determined. People love a horse race that’s tight.
MurphTheSurf3

I think that report is false glenn, but I don’t know for sure.
KillgoreTrout

Hey Murph!
AdLib 7 days ago
Hey Murph!
glenn

it’s going to difficult to make this debacle look close.
KillgoreTrout

KT–it could be; I really didn’t read the article; just saw the headline. But is still doesn’t matter.
glenn

Trump is a big help though.
KillgoreTrout

oops…but IT still doesn’t matter.
glenn

Howdy all…..big storms rolled through an hour or so ago……
MurphTheSurf3

I wish we had a good thunderstorm. I love a good thunderstorm. Not tornadoes, but just a lot of lighting, thunder and hard rain and wind.
KillgoreTrout

KT – Trump will stay in the whole way, no doubt he imagines that if he insults Hillary horribly enough in the debates, he’ll somehow win the election. He will be destroyed.
AdLib 7 days ago
Hillary will beat him like an orange haired step child! OK, not very PC, but still funny.
KillgoreTrout

So as trump gets more and more unhinged, what do you think the MSM is going to use to make it look like a tight race. Especially as more and more repubs leaving the sinking trumptanic.
glenn

Some news from Missouri….the State Republican Committee has quietly decided to ignore all requests from the Trump campaign…..they will be focusing all of their energy on a Senate Seat, and the State office holder elections in an effort to turn the Executive Red….
MurphTheSurf3

Exactly Murph but I don’t believe it will work this time. Anything Hillary is accused of pales next to a raving loon becoming President. She’s ahead for good now.
AdLib 7 days ago
They’ll have all the Trump apologists on, and they’ll lie and say how well Trump is “really doing.”
KillgoreTrout

Hey P!
KillgoreTrout

Hiy’all
pinkpantheroz

KT–oh, you mean the polls are “skewed”?
glenn

Hey PPO! How goes it down under?
glenn

For sure Ad. Trump just can’t turn that crazy train around.
KillgoreTrout

It’s all a big fix, isn’t it/
pinkpantheroz

That’s what they’ll say anyway.
KillgoreTrout

Hey P, are you the real founder of ISIS?
KillgoreTrout

glenn, a bit frazzled. My Lady is having a hip replacement op next week, so it’s a bit busy here in prep.
pinkpantheroz

glenn- All they have is email crap, what else can the GOP do to attack Hillary? Oh yeah! Benghazi!
AdLib 7 days ago
Murph–I think many republican state parties are doing the same thing. They are trying to hold on to their majority in the Senate, and trump isn’t helping them! Although he still leads here in GA, it’s the slimmest lead a republican has had in years, and Hillary might still take the state! Amazing!
glenn

Ouch! I wish her the best P!
KillgoreTrout

yes, KT, I’m the founder member of the Irish Society of Idiot sSvants!
pinkpantheroz

PPO–Oh dear, hope all goes well!
glenn

Hey PPO! Hope all goes well for your wife next week!
AdLib 7 days ago
oh, the HIllary conspiracy theories will be flowing like water. Even more so than now.
KillgoreTrout

LOL! Can I join? I’m half Irish!
KillgoreTrout

Hillary was flying one of the planes that crashed into the WTC.
AdLib 7 days ago
It is my guess that Trump does not want to be President. He may not be saying it out loud but I think he has realized that being President will be really hard. Lots of stuff to read; lots of serious meetings packed with people who give advice and expect to have influence; tons of details on every promise to sort out; the very real limits of presidential power; and no easily bailout if it gets too difficult. But he still wants to emerge from the race as “a winner” as he will define it….
MurphTheSurf3

Thanks , Ad. I guess you all know that my DW is none other than Fergie1!
pinkpantheroz

Ad! LOL! That HIllary, boy she’s tough! And mean! Boo!
KillgoreTrout

Ad–Benghazi, indeed. And that crazy mother’s lawsuit against HIllary, who “murdered” her son. I’d love to see one of the 9/11 families sue gwb for “murdering” their loved ones, because he ignored the reports that Bin Laden was determined to attack the US using airplanes!
glenn

Kt, any Idiot savant is welcome!
pinkpantheroz

He needs to lose but he also needs to provide a reasonable (by which I mean unreasonable) explanation for his followers to glom onto that blames others (a rigged election, the media, fake polls, traitorous GOP, dirty Democratic tricks, the public’s fear of his truth etc.) for that loss and allows him to shift from candidate to sympathetic victim. It is what Sarah Palin did and I think it is what Trump wants to do. In his post-candidacy life he can do a “Palin”- develop a loyal following anxious to hear from their abused and cheated hero and to support him (at least for a while). While doing this he can work at rebuilding his brand name which seems to be the principal source of his income.
MurphTheSurf3

I didn’t know that P! That’s nice!
KillgoreTrout

Good to know P! I wouldn’t want to be discriminated against!
KillgoreTrout

Murph–I agree. Your last sentence is the most telling…”emerge a winner as he defines it”. The only definition that counts is trump’s, and if he loses it will because of the liberal media, and the “rigged” election.
glenn

NOW…is this a conscious strategy? Perhaps not. But conscious or not, the idea is unlikely to pan out. Palin has very few left in her fan base and Trump will likely walk the same path (only faster). He will certainly be a pariah in the GOP. He will not have a Tea Party from which to operate as Palin did. But Trump is not one for whom reality is a sound basis for decision making. So expect more of the craziness…..perhaps daily.
MurphTheSurf3

The Trump Chumps are going to go batshit when he loses.
KillgoreTrout

Murph–exactly. And, as far as I’m concerned, let him rant on. He’ll still have his base, and nothing else matters to him. I do hope he loses all of his credibility with sane people, though, and won’t be able to sell his name again to any developer!
glenn

Murph – Don’t agree, Trump would love to be President, he just has a very simplistic view of all the power and rewards he would get, not considering what it would take to win or serve as President. This is all there is to him, he thinks he’s brilliant but he’s just a deluded idiot attracting other delided idiots.
AdLib 7 days ago
deluded
AdLib 7 days ago
trump is a polished con man. That’s all he’ll ever be.
KillgoreTrout

PPO – Left that detail up to you! Wishing Fergie all the best on this, I know she’ll come through with flying colors!
AdLib 7 days ago
Modern medicine is very good at hip replacements these days.
KillgoreTrout

Ad and Murph–I believe that’s why a businessman should never be President. The two jobs are not the same thing. The head of a company is not the same as the head of the government. As a CEO, you get to call the shots, and if people want to keep their jobs, they do your bidding. As the repubs in Congress have shown time and time again, doing what the President wants is not necessarily what they will do. Businessmen just don’t get that!
glenn

Thanks, Ad. Sorry, I’ll be in and out today, so please bear with me.
pinkpantheroz

Murph – Losing is not something Trump ever sets out to do. But he can read the writing on the wall and is setting up his excuse for being a loser….he won’t really be a loser because all 50 states are running rigged elections.
AdLib 7 days ago
PPO – No worries!
AdLib 7 days ago
I think that is one of Trump’s biggest fears Ad, being called a loser.
KillgoreTrout

Ad….Trump’s pattern is to desire X and when X is out of reach, to then walk away from it making excuses as he saunters on. Consider his desire to lead the birther movement…when the push back got too hard….he dropped the whole thing claiming victory because the President released his long form birth certificate….
MurphTheSurf3

BRB. PPO, if you’re gone when I get back, please give my best wishes to your wife. Hope to chat with you soon!
glenn

I think it’s a deep psychological thing with him.
KillgoreTrout

Kt, ‘Many people are saying’ he’s a loser already! must be doing his head in!
pinkpantheroz

thankx glenn
pinkpantheroz

That could explain his suicidal actions on the stump these days, P.
KillgoreTrout

Murph – Sometimes a douche is just a douche. Trump genuinely believes he can win the Presidency the same way he won ratings on tv and won the primary. It’s what he knows, it’s the way he wants to do things and he won’t listen to anyone else. I think the answer is, yes, Trump is really that deluded.
AdLib 7 days ago
Ad, Trump is Il Doucebag!
KillgoreTrout

Ad….I think you are generally agreeing with me on this.If he cannot be president he will line up his excuse ducks in a row and pick out a new preferred outcome.
MurphTheSurf3

Ad, true, bu the problem is the amount of mileage he’s already gotten with his approach to modern politics
pinkpantheroz

Murph – I don’t think the birther thing is the same thing at all. He rode that attack to gain a Repub following and prove he had power over the President…and sadly…thanks to our MSM…he did goad Obama to release his birth certificate. He didn’t lose on that.
AdLib 7 days ago
KT – Yep, Il Douchey!
AdLib 7 days ago
Trump has crossed two distinctive lines he can’t uncross. His attacks on the Kahn family, and his veiled threat to have Hillary or future SC judges killed by 2nd amendment people. He can’t walk those back an inch.
KillgoreTrout

Ad…perhaps but I believe that he is not up to it and is not willing to do what needs to be done to really get into the game. Life as reality TV.
MurphTheSurf3

Trump seems oblivious to the fact that he’s on video and audio. Documented. For all to see who wants to see.
KillgoreTrout

Murph – I do agree that he now worries he will lose and so is very concerned about escaping the tag of “loser”. Today, he claimed that if Hillary won PA, it would only be because the election was rigged. So now he’s saying that the proof that the election is rigged, is if he loses. That is some sick shit! His followers could get violent after the election with him inciting them. Then what? Is Trump arrested by SS? Wouldn’t it look too much like a political vendetta? He will have too much freedom to incite violence after he loses, very dangerous IMO.
AdLib 7 days ago
KT, yes, he can’t edit thwe crap and leave it on the cutting room floor like a REAL reality show!
pinkpantheroz

The decision by the Missouri GOP is one that is spreading…..do nothing for the Trump campaign….I suspect that Trump is aware of this and knows what it will cost to gain their support…he is unwilling to weight in.
MurphTheSurf3

Exactly P.
KillgoreTrout

PPO – But Trump has built a very attractive bridge (to white uneducated voters) that doesn’t connect fully to the other side. So while it gets him very far, it doesn’t take him far enough so in the end, it’s worthless.
AdLib 7 days ago
Ad, it won’t matter, after he’s lost. There may be a few nutbags who take it upon themselves to try to revenge his loss, in some insane way, but they be put down in pretty short order. They’ll go the way of the Bundys.
KillgoreTrout

Ah the Bridge to Nowhere!
KillgoreTrout

Ad, Trump is going to be more and more isolated but it will be done in very small stages, the frog boiling to death degree by degree..thus Reince P. shows up a rally and proclaims the “we” are gong to win….and then leaves town.
MurphTheSurf3

Who the fuck names their kid Reince?
KillgoreTrout

KT–the bridge to nowhere, indeed!
glenn

Reince twice and spit.
MurphTheSurf3

Holy Jeebus, the last name Priebus is bad enough.
KillgoreTrout

KT – I agree, Trump has permanently damaged himself with the attack on the Khans. All the rest just adds up, so many horrible things. I think that after one of his rants at the debate, Hillary should just turn to the camera and say, “Look at this man, his demeanor, the words that come out of his mouth, does this man look Presidential?” Trump will implode and whatever his response, he’ll only affirm that.
AdLib 7 days ago
Ha! Good one Murph. Well, Trump is circling the drain!
KillgoreTrout

A Russian? That’s apparently the origin of the name, from what I could source.
glenn

Ad–I think Hillary should just ignore trump at the debates. Just talk to the moderators, and never address trump directly. It will drive him nuts!
glenn

I bet young Reince got his lunch money taken, on a regular basis.
KillgoreTrout

Kt, sure, I once found a Priebus on my willy and had to have it removed!
pinkpantheroz

KT–that’s probably why he’s a republican.
glenn

I do too glenn. she needs to just stick to policy whenever she can. It will be interesting to see who the moderators will be.
KillgoreTrout

PPO–eeewww!
glenn

Ha! That’s what I was thinking glenn! Too funny.
KillgoreTrout

Ad….I expect Hillary to do just that……and when Trump is provoked his assault will confirm the worst about him in a single flash moment.
MurphTheSurf3

Damn P! That was a close one, eh?
KillgoreTrout

Murph – Trump has no organization in most states including many swing states like FL. He’s proving he’s incompetent to run a country, he can’t even run a campaign. And how do you GOTV and turn around sinking poll numbers with no feet on the ground in most states. Hillary is way ahead in NC! Ahead in some polls in GA and AZ! Trump is losing in NV and even UT (thanks to other candidates drawing voters. It will be a landslide that the whole country will see coming for months.
AdLib 7 days ago
Murph–how much more do we need to “confirm the worst” about trump? He is defining insanity as the “new normal” daily!
glenn

but the media will work hard to make it appear close.
KillgoreTrout

glenn – I do think Hillary should be very clever about how she deals with Trump in the debates but she should absolutely try to get under his skin so he’ll blurt out something very self-destructive.
AdLib 7 days ago
Hopefully so, Ad. But will the third party candidates also take votes from Hillary?
pinkpantheroz

Wouldn’t it be fun if Reince’s parents had picked up on the Addams Family name for their baby. Pubert. Pubert Priebus. It has a nice ring.
MurphTheSurf3

He does that all by himself, Ad. He doesn’t need any real provocation.

PPO–that’s my question, also. I think the third party candidates may take votes from Hillary, but I think they’ll take more from trump.
glenn

It will be interesting to see the debates and how Don the Con responds to haveing his ass handed to him on a plate.

Ad…and that lack of an organization is why “his” party in Missouri is going to ignore him.
MurphTheSurf3

Most people that will take votes away from Hillary on third party choices aren’t enough in number to allow a Trump victory. Not near enough.
KillgoreTrout

KT – That’s what I’d like to see, a number of Trump supporters trying to disrupt the country after a “rigged election” who are then thrown in prison with the Bundys! That would work on so many levels. But don’t underestimate the potential for violence if Trump howls that the election was rigged and stolen from him. There are many real nutbags supporting him.
AdLib 7 days ago
Ad–I don’t think Hillary will have to work very hard to get under trump’s skin; it doesn’t take much. And, on a national stage, and in a debate format one on one, unlike the primaries, he will just go ballistic, I hope. And, he can’t use a teleprompter to stay on script.
glenn

No doubt Ad. Like I said though, they’ll be put down in short order. I just hope there aren’t any Tim McVeighs among them. That would be very bad.
KillgoreTrout

Perhaps the Republican Party can throw him out of the party Then there is no Republican candidate.
pinkpantheroz

HIllary should bring a wind machine to the debates and just switch it on after a few minutes, and watch trumps animal flareup on live TV.
KillgoreTrout

Ad–I’m still trying to figure out how the election can be “stolen” from trump if it hasn’t happened yet. He doesn’t “own” the election; so how can it be “stolen” from him?
glenn

PPO – Yep but polls showing 3rd party candidates in the race don’t change the margin of Hillary’s lead much, just a little. And I wouldn’t be surprised if on election day, many people saying to pollsters today that they may vote 3rd party, vote Hillary faced with the prospect of a possible Trump Presidency. Fear does work.
AdLib 7 days ago
Oh, they’d love to at this point P. That can’t figure out a way to do it without enraging most of their base.
KillgoreTrout

Murph – Right, as Trump keeps falling apart, the Repubs in each state will probably cling to congressional races and local seats but the landslide against them will be tough to beat back.
AdLib 7 days ago
well, guys n gals, I gotta head for the hills. Take care all and I’ll see you next week with an update on Fergie.
pinkpantheroz

KT–slight correction–the republicans can’t figure out a way to throw trump out of the party without enraging trump’s base, which is all the republican party has left at this point. Even if the republicans who won’t vote for trump vote third party, they are still not the republican base any more.
glenn

I think the RNC has quit giving the Trump campaign money and are concentrating on down ticket races.
KillgoreTrout

G’night PPO. Stay strong and our best to Fergie!

cheers, G!

It’s now the TRumpian Party. The RNC is just a shell.
KillgoreTrout

glenn – Which is why I can’t wait for the debates! Some people have been saying they may get 100 million viewers! Maybe that’s a bit extreme but they will probably get the highest ratings of any debate since they’ve been keeping records. And I am confident that Hillary will sweep up the floor with him every time.
AdLib 7 days ago
Later P. Best wishes to Fergie and you.
KillgoreTrout

Do any of you think that those republicans who have left the party over trump will try to start another party? Or will the republican party try to reinvent themselves after trump’s loss?
glenn

I know I’ll have my popcorn ready!
KillgoreTrout

Ad–and, of course, if trump actually does the debates, we’ll have a live chat, right?
glenn

Well, they seemed to have ignored the results of their last post election “autopsy,” so I don’t see them paying much attention to one in the future.
KillgoreTrout

glenn – Trump works with simple concepts so of course there is no practical way to steal the elections in 50 states. He just promotes the vague conspiracy that all Trump voters will want to believe, “It was rigged! That’s why he lost!” How could you literally rig 50 state elections? There is no answer to that.
AdLib 7 days ago
Oh, that would be a hoot!
KillgoreTrout

Mass hypnosis Ad!
KillgoreTrout

Ad–simple concepts, exactly. It’s like “Hillary is going to repeal the 2nd amendment”, which is beyond the President’s power. But then, you have to know how our government works, and trump and his supporters have no idea how it works. They just know sound bites!
glenn

glenn – Yep, the GOP base consists mainly of the white uneducated voters that love Trump. That IS the GOP now. Yes, there are many who are Repubs for greed reasons but they are a sliver of the party now. Most are ignorant white people who are dying off. So it’s not all bad news!
AdLib 7 days ago
I am falling sleep….have a good week.
MurphTheSurf3

what’s funny glenn is that I’ve seen Hillary say she supports the 2nd amendment, but wants tighter guncontrol laws and no more assault weapons. Trump is such a blatant liar.
KillgoreTrout

‘Nite Murph.
glenn

Later Murph!
KillgoreTrout

KT – You can only do an autopsy on a dead body. The GOP will be able to do many autopsies after November!
AdLib 7 days ago
Night Murph!
AdLib 7 days ago
but they’ll ignore the results. They have to really, because if they paid attention to the results, they’d have to become democrats! Ha!
KillgoreTrout

Ad–I don’t think all of trump’s base is uneducated. I’ve seen focus groups of educated people, of course mostly white, who will vote for trump because they believe all of the BS about Hillary that the GOP has been peddling for 30 years.
glenn

Just shows ya glenn, not all educated people are smart.
KillgoreTrout

but Trump does love the poorly educated. Those that know the least, obey the best!
KillgoreTrout

KT–Yes, I’ve seen Hillary say that many times; in fact, if I remember correctly, she said that at the DNC. However, all trump and his supporters heard was Khan’s speech. I’m still trying to figure out how asking Trump if he’s read the Constitution and visited Arlington National Cemetery, is a “vicious attack.”
glenn

glenn – Yep, that’s Trump’s game. Vague and absolute conspiracies. How can a President personally get rid of any amendment? Oh, and I thought Obama was going to get rid of the 2nd Amendment! I heard it many times in 2008 and 2012 from Repubs. Why didn’t that happen? At this point, only rubes believe anything Trump says. He has proven his words are BS, even admitting it today by claiming people shouldn’t believe him (when he claimed Obama founded ISIS).
AdLib 7 days ago
Well Ad, he was just being sarcastic!
KillgoreTrout

Ad–but that an’t be true–that we shouldn’t believe what trump says. After all, his “schtick” is that he “says what he means.”
glenn

glenn – I would wager though that they are a minority of Trump supporters and if they believe all the BS about Hillary killing people and such, they are uneducated, aren’t they?
AdLib 7 days ago
Ad–I thought Obama was going to take away everyone’s guns, too.
glenn

They say he really tells it like it is! Those chumps actually believe that.
KillgoreTrout

Ad–good point.
glenn

glenn – Because to a con man, calling him out on his con is the most vicious attack they can see.
AdLib 7 days ago
Uninformed and misinformed for sure!
KillgoreTrout

KT–what they mean is he says what they want to.
glenn

Ad–okay, there you go. How dare you call a con on a con?
glenn

Exactly glenn. Trump is a mirror walking down a crowded avenue!
KillgoreTrout

Not to get lost in semantics but isn’t an educated person someone who has successfully attained knowledge? If so, would we apply that term to someone who has instead adopted untruths as facts? That’s my argument for calling those with BS in their heads that they think is truth, uneducated.
AdLib 7 days ago
Like Trumps ghostwriter for Art of the Deal says about Trump….”There is no there, there.
KillgoreTrout

My turn to call it a night, guys. I bet next week we’ll be talking about trump’s latest idiocy. Can’t wait to see what new “dastardly deed” Hillary and President Obama have done! G’night.
glenn

misinformed and too lazy to actually research the facts, Ad.
KillgoreTrout

Sleep well glenn.
KillgoreTrout

Ad–what KT says! Lazy and uninformed. And, yes, uneducated.
glenn

yeah, I guess it’s about closing time now. See you guys next week, that is if Hillary hasn’t started WWIII yet!
KillgoreTrout

KT – Trump seems to be the embodiment of the vague but intense anger so many struggling white people seem to feel. They do have racist tendancies, they are frustrated and angry at their lives not turning out as they were promised by society and they’re mad. Trump is the personification of that and that’s why there is nothing he can say to alienate them…except if he stopped being hostile. As long as he’s hostile towards the society they blame for their circumstances, hearing him makes them feel better.
AdLib 7 days ago
Oh yeah, it tickles their fantasies.
KillgoreTrout

What’s funny Ad, is most if not all middle class white guys I know are not struggling at all. But they’re fired up by Trump. I think they’re xenophobes and racists.
KillgoreTrout

Yep, the racism angle attracts all types of white guys.
AdLib 7 days ago
So does the rabid nationalism. Well, gotta go. see ya tomorrow!
KillgoreTrout

But mostly undereducated, rural white men. Still, I know a number of “educated” and well off white men supporting him.
AdLib 7 days ago
See ya then! Sleep well, pal!
