AdLib On February - 12 - 2016
Vox Populi, our live weekly chat, begins tonight at 7:00pm PST! Don’t be caught waiting in the wings like Ben Carson, join us then!
AdLib 7 days ago
Hey PPO!
AdLib 7 days ago
Hey Ad!. Just adding to the limerick article. Brilliant concept!
pinkpantheroz

Cool! Thanks so much!
AdLib 7 days ago
Hey KT!
AdLib 7 days ago
Just to start off this Friday’s people’s discussion, I think this would be a wonderful theme song for Bernie Sanders’ campaign!
KillgoreTrout

KillgoreTrout

Playing it now!
AdLib 7 days ago
Hey Ad, and my friend from down under. Hope you guys are doing well.
KillgoreTrout

Kt! Great song to start the day. Carson will be doing this soon:
pinkpantheroz

pinkpantheroz

Doing very well tonight, KT. You?
AdLib 7 days ago
Pretty much always. Give or take a break down or two.
KillgoreTrout

I think Carson will be licking his wounds and asking himself…why don’t they like me?
KillgoreTrout

AdLib 7 days ago
If Carson is in the single digits in SC, I think he calls it quits. Jeb too.
AdLib 7 days ago
I still think Tracy nailed it. Bernie talks about a revolution. But, the word revolution, is as scary as the word socialist. In the minds of those that know no better.
KillgoreTrout

Agreed KT, Tracy’s song hits that nail square on the head.
AdLib 7 days ago
Thus,..prior to this campaign, a revolution must be spoken of…in a WHISPER.
KillgoreTrout

It sure does Ad, and that’s why I love her. She has never been a Rock and Roll asshole.
KillgoreTrout

pinkpantheroz

KT – I’m going to write an article on the fascinating revolution brewing inside the Dem party, different than the open revolution in the GOP. It’s very much a revolution though, a yearning for even greater change. Not to say that Obama hasn’t made huge Progressive change, he has and I do disagree with Bernie on hammering that as hard as he has. But It’s younger Dems wanting more and older Dems wanting incremental improvements.
AdLib 7 days ago
Ad, ANY increment right now in either Party would be revolutionary. such inertia is unacceptable
pinkpantheroz

Still, I saw a focus group on MSNBC that watched the debate and very interesting results. 24 – 9 said Bernie won but 24 – 9 thought Hillary would be the stronger President.
AdLib 7 days ago
Hey glenn!
AdLib 7 days ago
hey glenn.
pinkpantheroz

BRB
pinkpantheroz

another, and the first? Lennon changed a bit of the lyrics after it was first released. He was talking about being counted out of a violent revolution, then, coyly and almost imperceptibly saying yes I’m in. Very sly, like Dr. Winston O Boogie could be.
KillgoreTrout

Good evening, all. How is everyone?
glenn

The Dem Establishment is coming down strongly on Bernie, I think that’s going to backfire. The more Bernie looks like he’s being attacked by the Establishment and they are trying to press Hillary into the nom, the stronger the youth vote will rally behind him as well as the more Progressive Dems.
AdLib 7 days ago
Doing well glenn! And you?
AdLib 7 days ago
KT – Hence the ambivilent version of Revolution where he says “You can count me out…in.”
AdLib 7 days ago
I wouldn’t say, huge, Ad. I would say, incremental. Huge would be single payer and peace in the middle east.
KillgoreTrout

PPO – It’s all relative. Many dems would see incremental change as a big deal but it seems that younger Progressives want bigger changes sooner. Not odd for youth.
AdLib 7 days ago
exactly Ad. Those were the days, though. Lennon, for a time, was influenced by the Yippies, like Abby Hoffman, and Elderdge Cleaver…
KillgoreTrout

Well, the reality of our system only allows for incremental change. No great social or political (same thing these days) has ever achieved, leaps and bounds.
KillgoreTrout

KT – There are times when it seems that only physical revolution can change things, as during the Arab Spring but it need not be violent.
AdLib 7 days ago
KT – Generally, that’s true. But when Bush had a Repub Congress, he did make radical changes.
AdLib 7 days ago
Ad–Doing well, too. You know, you were talking above about incremental change vs. a revolution. Still haven’t made up my mind on that, but I was thinking about what a principal told us once when we, as a faculty, were meeting to determine what our goals for the school would be that year. When we had put up a few, one of the teachers said, “But we’ll never make those goals.” And the principal answered, “We may not make them, but we need to set our goals much higher than what we think we can attain. That way, we won’t become complacent.” Once again, that can be parsed many ways; but I think it definitely defines what is going on in the Dem party nowadays. There is nothing wrong with setting the bar high, but there is also a difference between challenge and frustration. That seems to me to be where we are now.
glenn

hey guys!
Harleigh

What else is meant by “phyiscal revolution? I do not advocate violence to bring about social change. It never works. It only brings about a new dictator, same as the old.
KillgoreTrout

If Bernie had a Progressive Congress, there could be huge change. Look at Obama with a Dem Congress, he passed the ACA which is huge change for the better.
AdLib 7 days ago
Harleigh! How have you been, you reprobate? I thought you got swallowed by a Florida sink hole!
KillgoreTrout

Hey Harleigh.
glenn

been working 6 – 7 days. LOL
Harleigh

Ad I caution against hypotheticals.
KillgoreTrout

Ah, so you haven’t been swallowed by a sink hole! That’s good to know!
KillgoreTrout

KT – The Arab Spring was a physical revolution but it wasn’t violent on their part. They went into the streets and acted physically on insisting on change. The goovernment was vioolent but they used their physical protest as a revolution and won…temporarily unfortunately. My point is, we can’t necessarily get substantial change as urgently as it’s needed if we don’t physically protest and pressure government in that way.
AdLib 7 days ago
Semantics Ad.
KillgoreTrout

Hey, fellow Planeteers! Just here for a minute. I seem to have the same cold that Bernie was battling in the debate last night. If he felt the way I do, I have to hand it to him for coming up with the “Henry Kissinger is no friend of mine” line!
kesmarn

Harleigh! Great to see ya!
AdLib 7 days ago
Hey Kes. Sorry to hear you’re under the weather.
glenn

Hey Homie. Always glad to “see,” you.
KillgoreTrout

Hey Kes! No fair, you’re not allowed too get sick, it’s part of your PlanetPOV contract!
AdLib 7 days ago
to
AdLib 7 days ago
Uh-oh… so no rides on the corporate jet until I’m no longer contagious??
kesmarn

Kes, I hope you feel better soon. Nothing really serious, I hope.
KillgoreTrout

God, we’re all falling to bits, aren’t we!
pinkpantheroz

Kes – You have to wear a space helmet if you do.
AdLib 7 days ago
No, Homie! Just one of those coughs that won’t leave you alone.
kesmarn

NO jetting for YOU young lady!! LOL
Harleigh

Well, I guess that’s fairly good news. At our age, you never know!
KillgoreTrout

Mr. Trump might let me ride on his. As long as I’m not Muslim or Hispanic…
kesmarn

Kes – Yep, holding up a coompliment from Kisinger really made me feel uncomfortable. He’s a war criminal.
AdLib 7 days ago
BRB!
AdLib 7 days ago
Well, I don’t know, Kes. I don’t think liberals are allowed on trump’s jet.
glenn

Why would anyone admit to ever having known old Dr. Strangelove Kissinger?
kesmarn

True, Ad. Why, oh why did she have to bring that uip?
pinkpantheroz

Only as cleaning personnel, glenn…
kesmarn

Kes I hope you got your flu shot. I’m old and I did.
Harleigh

I did, Harleigh. And my pneumonia and boogie-woogie flu one too.
kesmarn

PPO–Hillary was trying establish her “national security creds”, I think. But I do think it’s strange that she brought up Kissinger, especially when she does have some more recent experience. Of course, that brings up BENGHAZI!
glenn

That’s what I don’t understand about Hillary. For such a smart, experienced, and strong person, how can she have never heard of Kissinger being a really bad player on the world stage? It really astounds me.
KillgoreTrout

Kes–perhaps. Just think of all the incriminating evidence you could find as a cleaning lady!
glenn

I suppose that, like Hitler, he must have had the odd good point
pinkpantheroz

Me too but down here people are dying from that shit that didn’t get vaxed. Darwins I think.
Harleigh

Has she never heard of Christopher Hitchens? He wrote a book about what a war criminal Kissinger was. And he backed it up with facts.
KillgoreTrout

glenn, maybe I could even adjust the landing gear or something…
kesmarn

KillgoreTrout

Kes, engine mounts!
pinkpantheroz

Kes–ooohh–you’re getting devious now.
glenn

PPO, just tell me where they are and I’ll “repair” those engine mounts…
kesmarn

Kissinger sucks.
Harleigh

Kes,
pinkpantheroz

Kes–silly, the engine mounts are under the engines!
glenn

glenn, er, above on a 757
pinkpantheroz

You can tell what a mechanical genius I am, glenn.
kesmarn

PPO–details, details!
glenn

Oh… I feel better now, PPO!
kesmarn

I see that Madeleine Albright apologized for telling all of us women to go to hell.
kesmarn

Hey sabreen, long time no see!
pinkpantheroz

Kes–and if the engines did fall off, trump’s plane would probably still fly just from all of his hot air!
glenn

Hello Planeteers. I hope everyone is well.
Sabreen60

I once drove an old Honda Civic (with a busted motor mount) from Ohio to Massachussetts. Of course I didn’t know it, at the time.
KillgoreTrout

Sabreen!!!!
Harleigh

and so she should, Kes
pinkpantheroz

Hey Sabreen! How are you?
glenn

Glenn, he is a human zeppelin…
kesmarn

Hey, Sabreen!
kesmarn

Kes–LOL!
glenn

Hey Lady! How are ya? I have missed you.
KillgoreTrout

KT–Don’t much about cars (or airplanes), but didn’t that Honda make a lot of noise?
glenn

KT, we drove a Thunderbird to TN and back and about 1 day after we got home one of the wheels fell off!
kesmarn

Kes–Oh my!
glenn

And then, drove it back to Ohio! 900 miles, each way! I guess the angels of my better soul were watching and helping!
KillgoreTrout

That made me a theist, glenn! ;-D
kesmarn

LOL kes
Harleigh

Don’t know much….
glenn

I’m well. I’ve missed all of you, too. Busy, busy, busy. I’m working tomorrow so I can’t stay long. It’s these damn holidays. I didn’t realize that there are greeting cards for everything
Sabreen60

How do we think SC will go?
pinkpantheroz

Ah, I love it, Homie. We we’re risk takers and heart breakers!
KillgoreTrout

I’m afraid that is all too true, Homie. It’s a miracle I’m still alive.
kesmarn

Howdy, back now!
AdLib 7 days ago
I feel sorry for the millenials. Too much nanny state in their upbringing!
KillgoreTrout

I think probably tRump and HRC
Harleigh

Sabreen, does your work involve greeting cards?
kesmarn

PPO–Trump will win the repubs; with cruz in second (for the evangelicals) and I’m not sure about the Dem side.
glenn

glenn (shudder)!
pinkpantheroz

PPO, it looks as though Hillary will take SC, from what I’m reading.
kesmarn

I think she has a substantial lead there. But she did in Iowa too.
kesmarn

PPO–the donald makes me shudder every time I read about him!
glenn

kes, if she doesn’t, how will that go down? will she still have enough superdelegates to make it meaningless?
pinkpantheroz

Catching up on earlier comments but I think the reason Hillary mentioned Kissinger’s compliment is because she’s trying to position herself as someone who can negotiate with Repubs. But very bad decision to use him to accomplish that goal.
AdLib 7 days ago
kes – I started this part-time job in Nov working for American Greetings. I thought I’d just go into stores and straigthen up the card displays. Wrong. It’s a lot of work. I don’t know how much longer I’m going to do this.
Sabreen60

Hey Sabreen and Murph!
AdLib 7 days ago
I’m not too sure, PPO. I’m hearing that super-delegates can change their commitment, but I don’t know for sure.
kesmarn

Hillary is gong to take SC and most likely NV. Bernie’s big lovers are in the Yankee states…I love the Yankee states, btw. My home away from home is Cape Cod. I lived in Boston for a decade.
KillgoreTrout

Ad, I think she has enough cred in that department without invoking the war criminal. big Mistake IMO
pinkpantheroz

i’m a proud Yankee.
KillgoreTrout

Amazingly, I knew someone who worked for American greeting, Sabreen — quite a while ago — doing the same thing. It was hard work!
kesmarn

Sabreen, sorry to hear you’re working so hard!
glenn

Oh, BTW, is Trump saying anything about Carrier sending 2000 jobs to Mexico?
pinkpantheroz

after 6 Bn Profit?
pinkpantheroz

I’m hearing a deafening silence on that one, PPO.
kesmarn

I do agree that Hillary will win SC but I think Bernie will be seen as a winner for narrowing her hard-to-maintain huge margin. It’s not really fair, typically all races narrow that have such a huge margin and Bernie is working it hard in SC to beat expectations. I think he will but still loses to Hillary. Then again, it’s after Nevada and if he dooes well there, he could have more momentum in SC. Still, he won’t win there.
AdLib 7 days ago
Well, I’m not focusing too well tonight; very tired. Plus, soccer season is on again, and I need to get up early tomorrow, so I’m calling it a night. Hope everyone has a great weekend. Feel better, Kes, and try not to work too hard, Sabreen. Take care, all.
glenn

I really don’t understand the “war monger,” label that Hillary has been saddled with. What war, has she promoted?
KillgoreTrout

kes – I wish I had talked to you before I took the job. I like working the hours I want (although AG tells you how many hours you can work at each store) and I like working alone.
Sabreen60

g/night, g. Sleep well
pinkpantheroz

G’night, glenn and thanks for the good wishes!
kesmarn

War is one of those words that has no longer a definite description.
KillgoreTrout

nite glenn
Harleigh

Good night glenn. I hope we can hang longer the next time. Take care.
Sabreen60

Sabreen, I like working independently too, but it seems now they expect three peoples’ work from one employee.
kesmarn

PPO – It’s true, Superdelegates can change their allegience at any time and that happened in 2008 when Obama won the majority of primaries. Hillary was trying to win despite that, using Superdelegates but the defections to obama ended that dangerous conflict.
AdLib 7 days ago
Hey glenn, sorry I missed you! Take care and be well.
KillgoreTrout

So true, kes.
Sabreen60

I’m pretty irked with her for taking the tack of accusing Bernie of working to undermine the President all along.
kesmarn

KT – Hillary has been a war hawk through much of her career, she threatened to bomb Iran even.
AdLib 7 days ago
Night Kes, feel better!
AdLib 7 days ago
OOps… I think that was glenn who left, AdLib… Although I am fading here…
kesmarn

there hasn’t been a legitimate declaration of war since WWII. We must be really careful of what we call “war.”
KillgoreTrout

Kes – It won’t work, in the focus group, they saw right through that untrue claim.
AdLib 7 days ago
Oh, glad you’re still here Kes!
AdLib 7 days ago
Good to hear that, AdLib!
kesmarn

Some of her ‘tough’ talk has really been kinda weak so she stupidly over did it. LOL
Harleigh

Harleih, please explain.
KillgoreTrout

She was all about going hawkish in Syria, and yet Kerry seems to have negotiated a cease fire without American troops on the ground.
kesmarn

Kudos to the ladies on PBS for s well-moderated debate. Makes the others look so pathetic and biased
pinkpantheroz

Murikkka has not won a war since 1945.
Harleigh

This obviously orchestrated dogpile on Bernie by the Dem Establishment along with Hillary is actually helping Bernie, on fundraising and support. It’s transparent, they can’t beat Bernie by attacking him as an outsider, that’s his appeal.
AdLib 7 days ago
Hilllary never suggested sending ground troops into Syria.
KillgoreTrout

Well folks I’m all end. Take care until the next time.
Sabreen60

We don’t need to “win,” in the sense that war is some sort of game. It’s not.
KillgoreTrout

All too short, Sabreen. Pity. but good to see you
pinkpantheroz

Take care Sabreen. I hope all is well with you and yours.
KillgoreTrout

It was the no fly zone she was advocating, Homie. You’re right I don’t think she suggested troops.
kesmarn

G’night, Sabreen!
kesmarn

“In” heh gotta go
Sabreen60

Kes – Good point, Hillary wants a no-fly zone and arming more and more groups opposing Assad…but peace and negotiations may win out. She certainly isn’t supportive of Obama’s views on Syria.
AdLib 7 days ago
I don’t even think a no fly zone is necessarily a bad thing. Boundries, at times, must be established.
KillgoreTrout

I like the way Russia is abiding by the Ceasefire, Ad!
pinkpantheroz

No– they’ve not agreed on Syria. But when Bernie disagrees, he’s a bad man.
kesmarn

KT – But ISIS doesn’t have an airforce. Who would we shoot down except Russia or their ally, Syria? Then what? WWIII?
AdLib 7 days ago
The only thing is, Homie, you have to be prepared to shoot planes down. And then the consequences…
kesmarn

KT after and since Benghazi! she tried to sound tough by sayin stupid shit like bombing some of the countries that repub chickenhawks want to bomb.she of all people should know that we would lose way too much libya, ukraine, iran, N korea. crazy talk.
Harleigh

Anybody who would honestly think Berne is a bad man, is truly delusional.
KillgoreTrout

Prepared, always. No matter where our intersts may lie. That’s
KillgoreTrout

PPO – Putin is a liar and he doesn’t want peace, he wants the Assad armies to win the war but by bringing nations together to get behind a cease fire, Russia is putting more pressure on itself to stop…or maybe face more sanctions?
AdLib 7 days ago
I’ve just realized that Bernie can never be POTUS! If he gets elected, what’ll happen to the Christmas trees and Turkeys?
pinkpantheroz

Hannuka ham!
Harleigh

Saying, and doing, are not always the same thing. Just consider, for a moment, how our enemies see us. Weak? or Strong?
KillgoreTrout

H!!!
pinkpantheroz

PPO – You’re right! Then The President will be orchestrating The War on Christmas!
AdLib 7 days ago
Is he going to follow through with the infamous Obama war on Christmas?
kesmarn

Jinx!
kesmarn

Santa will have to be careful he avoids those no-fly zones if Hillary’s in…
kesmarn

Well have to wait until August, 2016, for the new war on Christmas. You know it’s coming. Orchestrated by the RW loonies, of course.
KillgoreTrout

FOX’s annual tradition.
kesmarn

kes, he’ll get an escort of airplpanes that cost $300million each!
pinkpantheroz

KT – I don’t buy that line about the US being seen as weak because we didn’t bomb Assad. Russia needs Assad there, it’s their only base in the region, they would have brought their military in anyway.
AdLib 7 days ago
From Boeing and Halliburton.
kesmarn

I am so waiting for the last of her emails prove more nothing. LOL
Harleigh

They usually start that bullshit by August.
KillgoreTrout

The emails are truly a non-issue.
kesmarn

kes…. as is Benghazi and all the other shit they’ve been throwing, but it won’t stop them doing it.
pinkpantheroz

Harleigh – Agreed, I don’t believe there is anything negative in Hillary’s emails but it seems like some in the FBI or Pentagon are trying to damage her.
AdLib 7 days ago
Ad, would anyone be surprised that the Pentagon doing that?
pinkpantheroz

Right, PPO. Now the Clinton Foundation and some of their activities… I’m not so sure that’s all been above reproach.
kesmarn

Ad I didn’t qualify exactly what could be seen as weakness. You could substitute a number of scenariors for such an arument. That fact is, we cannot be seen, by those who are against us, as being weak, soft, complacent, or otherwise.
KillgoreTrout

Kes it’s one of the staples at the Hill and Newsmax, where I go to let off steam by poking the shit out of teabaggers. LOL
Harleigh

The email thing, Harl? Wow… they need to give it up! :-)
kesmarn

Rubio is still playing his recording about Benghazi. That’s why he claims she’s not eligible to be President. How about having an MP3 player where your brain is supposed to be, Marco? Doesn’t that disqualify you?
AdLib 7 days ago
If my neighbor, who is threatening me, sees me as being weak, then he’s liable to do do something that would not turn out good, for either of us.
KillgoreTrout

RobotRubio is really going to stick with him I’m afraid.
kesmarn

KT, until he tries and finds that there is a mailed fist behind the velvet glove
pinkpantheroz

If that neighbor sees me as someone not to be messed with, then it’s very likely that peace will prevail.
KillgoreTrout

PPO – There should be an investigation into the Pentagon and FBI on this and anyone leaking about the emails should be prosecuted. This is illegal interference with a US election.
AdLib 7 days ago
Let me tell you another funny… now they are back with a committee on the IRS yet some more!! LOL
Harleigh

You lost me on that one, PPO.
KillgoreTrout

Waiting for the investigations on Trump!
pinkpantheroz

KT, OK, a fuckiing great sledghammer behind the velvet curtain
pinkpantheroz

KT – The question is, is seeking peaceful resolutions what some will claim is showing the US is weak?
AdLib 7 days ago
Well, dear Planeteers, I think I may have to call it a day — or a Nyquil — or something. Have a great weekend and stay warm!
kesmarn

there will be no serious investigations, at this point in the election process. That will come for the two who are nominated.
KillgoreTrout

Thanks for hanging in Kes! Sleep well and dream of Nyquil angels!
AdLib 7 days ago
OK, KES, Be well and take care of yourself
pinkpantheroz

sure Ad. There will always be assholes like that.
KillgoreTrout

nite kes
Harleigh

kesmarn

Hilary descibed this perfectly, when talking about negotiating from a position of strength. You have to. Otherwise, what is the point?
KillgoreTrout

The world understnads strength. Is that “enlightened?” Of course not. That is just the way the world is. Always has been.
KillgoreTrout

Harleigh – What a surprise, the Repubs in The House attacking Hillary for Benghazi for years, Planned Parenthood based on bogus videos and now the IRS based on bogus charges of attacking Repub groups. Not one legit investigation over all these years until the Flint hearings began…but have been sabotaged a bit by Repubs whoo wouldn’t call Snyder or the city managers.
AdLib 7 days ago
Denying that is like trying to piss up a rope. It doesn’t work.
KillgoreTrout

KT – How do you negotiate from a position of strength against Russia in Syria?
AdLib 7 days ago
Good question al
Harleigh

or china in pacific or NK
Harleigh

Ad, reimpose sanctions on Russia until they pull their heads in, leave Crimea and back off the Ukraine.
pinkpantheroz

Don’t forget it was sanctions that brought Iran kicking and screaming to the negotiating table. Sanctions can be an effective weapon. the alternatives are scary.
pinkpantheroz

PPO these 2 countries are part of the Iran deal… we gotta be real careful, and they know it.
Harleigh

Hey, long time no see Fergie1!
pinkpantheroz

Ad, because we have such destructive military power, and NATO. Is Russia going to go nuclear? Of corse not. They and we have been through that nonsense already.
KillgoreTrout

PPO – We haven’t removed the sanctions on Russia so they can’t be reimposed.
AdLib 7 days ago
Hey Fergie!
AdLib 7 days ago
Oh, I stand corrected, Ad. Well, make ’em more stringent, then!
pinkpantheroz

well i gotta work tomorrow. later guys.
Harleigh

see ya Harleigh
pinkpantheroz

Het Florida, good to see ya again. Don’t be such a stranger, next time!
KillgoreTrout

PPO – As with Iran, we can only make sanctions work if we have other nations alongside us. If they won’t agree to greater sanctions, the US can apply sanctions against Russia but they can get around themby simply going to other countries instead.
AdLib 7 days ago
LOL, PPO!
KillgoreTrout

Wow, only on the net I could type those letters and it would be understood by someone else. Very cool.
KillgoreTrout

Harleigh left before I could say bye! Bye anyway!
AdLib 7 days ago
KT – LOL PPO, RIP GOP.
AdLib 7 days ago
Hey Ad! Just tuned in and think I’ll just ‘observe’ at this point! Just catching up!

How do you like Trump promising now to be PC and not swear anymoore because it’s hurting him in the polls?
AdLib 7 days ago
America, in combination with a few other nations, has realized that world wars are not any sort of solution to the world’s problems. We will be cursed with little, regional, “conflicts.” As we have been for the last decade or more.
KillgoreTrout

Ad, I see that lasting as long as it takes someone to call him a loser!
pinkpantheroz

Or, mention Megyn Kelly!
pinkpantheroz

KT – It will be interesting to see what Climate Change brings aboout, as nations start losing potable water and fertile farmlands. Might an era of nations invading other nations come about?
AdLib 7 days ago
fuck Trump. He is in no way, going to rise to the level of a presidential nominee. if he does, he’ll never win a general election. Should we ignore him? Absolutely not, but let’s not give him any more time in the American consciuosness.
KillgoreTrout

Agreed, PPO. Trump is addicted to profanity, he’ll fall off the wagon any minute!
AdLib 7 days ago
Saw Trump on CBS Morning News and he was red faced. Very strange makeup, or Blood pressure!
pinkpantheroz

PPO – Viagra overdosing?
AdLib 7 days ago
Oh, was that his knob I was looking at? well, that explains everything!
pinkpantheroz

Saw it also PPO and thought he was sunburnt! Must say he was very “toned down” in his rhetoric. Interesting?
Fergie1

Fergie – If he wins the GOP nom, Trump will really get burned.
AdLib 7 days ago
Nobody, who has the mentality of a Jersey mob boss is going to reside in the white house.
KillgoreTrout

Fergie, I reckon he was careful with people like Charlie Rose and Gail and Norah. Way too intelligent to put up with shite.
pinkpantheroz

KT, Nixon?
pinkpantheroz

The last person who had such a mentality was Richard Nixon.
KillgoreTrout

PPO, WOW! You beat me too it. That’s very, cool.
KillgoreTrout

In GE, Trump would be slit open and fileted becuase you can’t just debate on Fox then.
AdLib 7 days ago
Here’s hoping Ad. Just heard from some of my friends in SF that they are hearing that if Sanders is the Nominee, they would vote for Trump! In my liberal SF? WTF!
Fergie1

Scary thought, Fergie!
pinkpantheroz

Oops! Not that my friends would vote for Trump but that they are hearing that other people would!
Fergie1

Fergie – I remember all those types of threats from Hillary PUMAs back in 2008, if Obama won they would vote for McCain. That childish “holding my breath till I turn blue if I don’t get my way” didn’t work out too well.
AdLib 7 days ago
Fegie, I utterly despair sometimes about Democrats not being able to combine in a united fashion.
pinkpantheroz

I think that Trump is more slippery than many are giving him credit for. Who would have thought that he would get this far?
Fergie1

Fergie – Always remember, Trump has maybe 35% of the GOP, meaning 65% aren’t behind him and the GOP only has about 24% of voters in the nation so he’s only got around 9% of Americans behind him.
AdLib 7 days ago
Sound bites, fear mongering and the current mindset of nongs who nedd a text for anything to penetrate for more than 5 seconds.
pinkpantheroz

Agree Ad. Similar to: ” if Bernie doesn’t get the Nom, I’m not voting for Hillary.” Makes my blood boil.
Fergie1

Here’s hoping, Ad, that the DNc gets its act together soon. time will fly now till NMovember
pinkpantheroz

PPO – But that is a small minority of voters. Keep in mind, Trump polls negative with 40% of Repubs! Much higher with indies so in a real open election, the chickens all come home to roost for him.
AdLib 7 days ago
Ad, I’m interested in this figure of 24% GOP voters. I haven’t done my ‘homework’ on those stats. But how in the world does any Repub get elected then?
Fergie1

Fergie, even thoough I support Bernie in the primary, I have no patience for any Bernie supporters who claim they won’t vote for Hillary if she wins. They want Trump instead?
AdLib 7 days ago
Ad, yes, but as the field narrows, the sheep who are agin’ him now will follow the bellwether and meekly trot into the slaughterhouse.
pinkpantheroz

Indeed PPO. But think of all the Progressive groups that will come out big time against Trump too.
AdLib 7 days ago
Oh, let it be so, Ad.
pinkpantheroz

Fergie, I think Dems only have about 32% of voters, a near-majority are unaffiliated Indies.
AdLib 7 days ago
Well, I have to go do the shopping, so better say cheerio till next time. Nice seeing you again fergie. take care, Ad.
pinkpantheroz

PPO – Some Repubs may but consider why the GOP is so desperate to find a single estab Repub to get behind. They know that Trump and Cruz will spell disaster foor their entire party all up and down the ballot. If they thought Trump being their nom would help their party, they wouldn’t be battling him.
AdLib 7 days ago
Seeya PPO!
AdLib 7 days ago
Thanks Ad. Got it. Interesting. It was all so different ‘back in the day.’ I’ve kep up as much as poss. but there are gaps! How do you type that fast?! 😆
Fergie1

I was hit by lightning while blogging one day and have the super power of fast typing!
AdLib 7 days ago
Bye PPO. What’s for dinner?!
Fergie1

If only I had been running instead!
AdLib 7 days ago
Not for office, really running that is.
AdLib 7 days ago
Good one Ad! My emojis aren’t working! I understood the running bit!
Fergie1

I knew you did, just joking!
AdLib 7 days ago
How are things going politically in your neck of the woods?
AdLib 7 days ago
Got that too Ad! Now I’m getting silly. Must be time for me to say adieu!
Fergie1

Sounds good, have a great weekend, Fergie!
AdLib 7 days ago
Politically in Australia, it’s boring as all get out. Of course we have a conservative PM who wants to privatize Medicare, who continues to detain boat people on Narau, etc.etc. etc. and who is floating the notion of raising the GST ( VAT) to 15 %. Other than that……..?
Fergie1

Ouch! Does he have much support?
AdLib 7 days ago
Not on the raising of the Goods and Services (GST). The 1%ers don’t care of course. There are demonstrations re the boat people but by and large not Yuuuge!
Fergie1

It’s hard to rally huge support for immigrants now thanks to ISIS attacks.
AdLib 7 days ago
Ok I really am going to say ‘night, cheerio and take care. Thanks as always for your lovely welcome. Agreed re the difficulty of garnering support a/c ISIS attacks. Still all very inhumane. Night Ad, take care. P.s. There is a great program on here called Planet America. More later.
Fergie1

I like anything with the word Planet in it! Great seeing you! Take care and see you soon!
AdLib 7 days ago
What is this process? To an outsider it is insane, surely the American people in numbers will see the light….mmm, maybe not

KillgoreTrout

Beatlex

What do they mean by, “bad?” That could imply a whole lot of nasty things.
KillgoreTrout

Too weird KT
Beatlex

Man, it really is. I have never seen this before. I can undertand a glitch in software, but this is just weird.
KillgoreTrout

Do you have some sort of Canadian virus? Just kidding B!
KillgoreTrout

I will try another…

Ha K!

Beatlex

Great tune.
KillgoreTrout

Ad, are you about?
KillgoreTrout

Don’t seem to be KT
Beatlex

b, are you doing OK, health wise? I sure hope so.
KillgoreTrout

A lot better KT,I had a lot of abdominal pain for months,almost a year.++Truth Alert++
Beatlex

I kicked a opiod addiction! True stuff. I am on my way to recovery
Beatlex

Damn, that’s rough. I live with a lot of lower back pain. Sometimes I can barely get out of bed. Thankfully, it only occurs a few times a year, but when it does…….fuuuck!
KillgoreTrout

Fantastic B. I’m an alcoholic, who has been throught 5 treatment programs. Addiction is a real mother fucker. I stayed away from alcohol for 16 years, and only drink on rare occasions. I do use a lot of cannabis though. It is truly a wonder.
KillgoreTrout

Everybody is different, when it comes to addiction. There is no,”one size fits all.”
KillgoreTrout

Beatlex

That it is B. But, do you know what I have found, in my own life? I have found a way of viewing the world and my place in it, that has really brought me a great contentment. People always say they’re looking for happiness in their lives. As well they should, but they usually look in the wrong places. I don’t believe in a constant state of happiness. (you know what I mean). I am am thrilled, by being able to maintain a constant level of “contentment.” I realize that things change. they always will, abd nothing is permanent.
KillgoreTrout

b, I think some entity in my cable company is not letting your videos play. An international thing, most likely. Great choices, BTW.
KillgoreTrout

As I have gotten older I have mellowed,I was a hellion in my youth K, well into adulthood.
Beatlex

I hear ya B. I had a great love affair with LSD (and any othe hallucinegen I could get
KillgoreTrout

I also experimented with heroin, coke, and free based coke (crack). I only did free base about 3 times. I didn’t really like it.
KillgoreTrout

I can relate. I was also a wild child.
KillgoreTrout

I did my first hit of “Brown Barrel”acid in 1969,at 14. A week later I almost jumped off of a Ferris Wheel!
Beatlex

A week later? Do you know why you felt that way?
KillgoreTrout

I have to say, I did acid about 200 times, probably more. I only had one bad experience. The rest of the trips were unbelievably fun. Sometimes a bit scary, like a rid on a roller coaster, but always fun! Great fun.
KillgoreTrout

Because I doubled the dose, and went with a very beautiful girl to our yearly Fair, and lost it.I even jumped off of a moving motorcycle.
Beatlex

Glad you didn’t hurt yourself. Lady luck was on your side. I once jumped out of a Jeep, going about 35 miles an hour. I was drunk, at the time and only ripped my thumb nearly off. I didn’t eben really feel it…till the morning came.
KillgoreTrout

Ah, crazy youth, huh? I wouldn’t take back a minute of it. It was good schooling.
KillgoreTrout

We have much in common K,It is comforting to me to know that there is other people who are kindred souls to me
Beatlex

absolutely B. That is what I call, genuine spirituality. Realizing we are all basically the same. The same life struggles. Nobody, no matter how wealthy, is immune to life and the costs it extracts from us all, in the end.
KillgoreTrout

Does this one come thru Bud???

I think there is some sort of internet provider problem with videos?
KillgoreTrout

I don’t know why
Beatlex

b, I know your love of the Beatles, and particularly, George Harrison. You have a great appreciation for music, and I really respect that.
KillgoreTrout

I am surprised I am still alive KT,really,I should not be here..!
Beatlex

so many people just don’t know how influential those guys were.
KillgoreTrout

They were, and are,MAGIC KT! Nothing comes close to them for sheer genious
Beatlex

Same here B. I have been in three horrific car crashes, numerous fisticuffs and bar brawls, and some other experiences that should not wisely be aired.
KillgoreTrout

I’ve has a .45 automatic hangun thrust in my face, in dark parking lot, with the owner of said gun, telling me how much he would like to kill me. That was an eye opener. Fo Sho!
KillgoreTrout

Car crashes? I have been lucky in that regard. I have never been at fault in an accident in 40 years of driving! Really
Beatlex

I wasn’t always the driver. But. I was at fault, once.
KillgoreTrout

I have always been cool to drive..even when I was pissed! I don’t take those kind of chances anymore

I once, with a very good friend, drove 900 miles to a Cape Cod. My friend and I both took a 4 way of window pane, bfore we started our journey. (a real life trip). It was one of the most amazing experiences of my life, and I’ an old fucker.
KillgoreTrout

Did you ever do needles KT? That was a scary time for me,But I did quit it
Beatlex

Never mind
Beatlex

Yeah. I am sorry to adnit it. I tried heroin, only 4 times. It was so good, that I thought, nothing should make me feel this good, without some sort of big payback. I didn’t do it any longer. I did, however, like to shoot coke. I was never financially secure enough to do it as I would have liked. So, in a way, poverty kept me from a great many bad outcomes. Thank goodness, eh”
KillgoreTrout

This is true learning B! bless you for this. Long may you run, as Neil Young once said! (a fellow Canadian).
KillgoreTrout

No kidding hey? I like to think that I am as intelligent as your average Rock Star, sans the money to actually burn right out,I surely would not be here
Beatlex

B, I don’t see any damage to you intellect, at all. You are stronger, and wiser, for your experiences, and as you say, we’re lucky to still be here! I can’t explain it. I don’t even want to. I just enjoy the time I have.
KillgoreTrout

There are some of us that DO survive K, mental toughness is needed to make it through IMO.
Beatlex

I think my dad instilled that in me, and not always intentionally. He told me, before I was shipped off to Marine Corp boot camp, that I’d never make it. He said I was too weak. That pissed me off, to no end. That was the driving force behind my every effort to prove him wrong. And I did. Later, I realized what my dad had done for me. He knew that if he told me I’d fail, I would do everything inmy entire being, to prove him wrond.
KillgoreTrout

It’s amazing how smart our parents become, as we get older! ‘)

My Father died when I was 1,killed in Germany in 1956,leaving my Mother alone with 4 kids…and her youngest born 4 days after He died. She,we,had it rough after that
Beatlex

Damn B. I can’t imagine what that must have been like. Life can be a real mother fucker at times.
KillgoreTrout

but, I have to say, what’s the alternative? There is, if we allow ourselves to see it, tremendous beauty in the world.
KillgoreTrout

We just need to not take ourselves so seriously. A great novelist, that I’m very fond of, once said. We’re all just here to fart around and have some fun before we die,.

My Grandparents saved us.Taking us in here in Canada. They were from humble stock too,but helped my Mother through the tough years that followed,Of course I never knew until lter how much they had helped

Nothing we do or say, lasts forever.
KillgoreTrout

That’s always the way B. We never true know how much our protectors and care givers give, until we’re older. The Irish have a very unigue way of dealing with that.
KillgoreTrout

B, take care of yourself. I look forward to doing this again, sometime. I must close for now. “Golden Slumbers.”
