Hey Murph!

Boom goes the Trumpanite!
AdLib 7 days ago
“Oh, okay, we’re a racist party. But what’s worse is the political correctness that people use to judge all of us as a group for that!”
AdLib 7 days ago
How were your holidays?
AdLib 7 days ago
Hey glenn!
AdLib 7 days ago
Hey Ad, hey Murph, hey Cat! Happy New Year!
glenn

Hi glenn
MurphTheSurf3

Happy New Year to you, glenn!
AdLib 7 days ago
Ad–just a question. There was no VOX last week? I checked in about 10:30, and there was no VOX. Thought I was too late! (which is the story of my life).

Hello Scat
MurphTheSurf3

Murph–so which is it? Trump or Cruz? Ad and Scat, what are your predictions?
glenn

Right glenn, that was my bad! I had planned on hosting Vox last Friday night but got tied up!
AdLib 7 days ago
Hey escrib!
AdLib 7 days ago
I still think Trump is going to run into an iceberg.
escribacat

Glenn…Trump has the advantage.
MurphTheSurf3

Fauxe?
AdLib 7 days ago
Ad–no problem. You deserve a break! Just glad to know I wasn’t losing my mind, which is always a possibility!
glenn

Maybe Trump can get away with his bully crap with the cretins who come to his events but I don’t see how he can function in a real election
escribacat

Did you all see the Financial Times interview today in which Charles Koch condemns both Trump and Cruz for their stance on Muslims.
MurphTheSurf3

Yeah, I saw that Murph. Koch is disappointed that he can’t control Trump or Cruz, is how I took it.
escribacat

Murph–no, missed that. The Kochs like Muslims?
glenn

escrib – Trump is like a Titanic running into another Titanic.
AdLib 7 days ago
Trump is like an alcoholic — drunk on power right now. He’s not entirely in control of himself.
escribacat

Scat–From the headline I read (and I only read the headline), the Kochs are disappointed that they can’t seem to buy the primary even with the obscene amount of money they’re spending.
glenn

The Kochs have embarked on an all out ongoing PR campaign to say “Evil is the new black”. Trying to soften their truly evil image.
AdLib 7 days ago
Whereas Sleezy Cruz is in control of himself…if only he weren’t such a repulsive dork, which he can’t hide.
escribacat

Glenn–yes that was the gist of the article.
escribacat

The Kochs regard the Trump/Cruz approach as counter-productive making the war on Islamic terrorism more difficult.
MurphTheSurf3

It’s scary when two candidates make the Koch’s look rational.
escribacat

Escrib – I like your description of Trump as like an alcoholic. He gets drunk though on his own homemade moonshine and surrounds himself with idiots who laugh at the horrible things he does. He has no awareness of how the majority of Americans see him and his horrible statements.
AdLib 7 days ago
Scat–Trump is so drunk on power that he’s willing to take protesters’ coats away from them. What an awful human being he is, and his supporters are even worse. I was appalled to see those trump supporters literally rip that sign out of two protesters’ hands when they were just sitting there. And then the incident with the coat when trump’s supporters cheered! These people are so out of control, it’s beyond redemption!
glenn

Glenn–I saw those exact same scenes. Really scary people.
escribacat

They are a classic pitchfork mob, a rabble, roused up by this demagogue. I’ve never seen anything like it.
escribacat

There is more and more about Trump that reeks of fascism.
MurphTheSurf3

And how funny is it that Ted Cruz could genuinely be ineligible to be President because he may not be a natural born citizen! All of his supporters were on blogs for the past two elections attacking Obama for not being American!
AdLib 7 days ago
Ad, do you think Trump really lives in a bubble and can’t see how vile he is? A lot of journalists are starting to call him on it finally.
escribacat

It’s true that someone who is “drunk” really doesn’t realize how they come off. I wonder if he has experienced a mental break or something….
escribacat

Scat–I agree. I’ve never seen anything like it and I’ve been around a while. It reminds me of the Vietnam war protests; the way our country is being torn apart by people who won’t even try to listen to reason. They are “right” and everyone else is wrong; it just absolutely astounds me!
glenn

Everyone makes fun of “political correctness” but what it means is that you should behave in a civilized manner, even if you aren’t civilized. These people are not civilized and have been given permission by Trump to behave like barbarians.
escribacat

escrib – The wealthy live in a bubble. Celebrities live in a bubble. Combine the two with a Presidential candidate? Trump doesn’t even know how to eat pizza, he uses a knife and fork. He says “The blacks love me.” All politicians are in a bubble of some kind but Trump is so oblivious to reality, he doesn’t know what the majority of Americans think of him or what the blowback of an all out racist and sexist campaign in a primary will do to him in a general election.
AdLib 7 days ago
Ad–I read another headline (I try not to read too much about Cruz because he just creeps me out), that says that Cruz’s mother was registered to vote in Canada; thereby making her a Canadian citizen at the time Cruz was born. I guess she could have had dual citizenship; but I didn’t think that was possible. Wasn’t that the “glitch” with the “swiss miss” when she tried to become a Swiss citizen?
glenn

Good point Ad. When he says The blacks love me or the Hispanics love me, do you suppose he actually believes it?
escribacat

Trump spent the night last night in this pattern. Sprinkle statements of disdain for various policies, and ideas with chatty mutual admiration between himself and the crowd and personal attacks on his foes in either party, with responses to protestors that further egg on the crowd….that is his stump speech.
MurphTheSurf3

Murph — and no substance whatsoever. And the mob is fine with that.
escribacat

His supporters are a true mob.
escribacat

Complaining about “political correctness” is a ruse to allow Repubs to say horrible things and not be criticized. Trump says horribly racist things yet his supporters say, “He’s a straight talker.” The math is pretty easy, openly saying racist things is “talking straight” for Trump followers.
AdLib 7 days ago
Fine with it…ecstatic.
MurphTheSurf3

Ad–okay, I have to take issue with you on one thing. I also eat pizza with a fork and knife. Mainly because my front teeth (yes I do have them), just won’t tear the pizza apart, so I have to cut it. Maybe trump and I have something in common, which makes me absolutely shudder! However, as far as I’m concerned, eating pizza with a fork and knife is the LEAST of trump’s problems!
glenn

Glenn–there’s a rumor over at rawstory that Cruz’s mother was married to someone named Wilson, a Canadian for whom she renounced her citizenship. Then later she married Cruz. But it’s a rumor
escribacat

I LOVE IT THAT CRUZ IS BEING TREATED LIKE OBAMA.
MurphTheSurf3

Scat–The rumors are beginning to come thick and fast! Love it!
glenn

Murph–yeah, isn’t it great that the right wing is getting a taste of their own medicine? And from other right wingers, no less!
glenn

I’m going to spread rumors that Cruz eats foreign mustard and bows to Canadians.
escribacat

glenn – Yep, I think Cruz and his mother had dual citizenship. But the SCOTUS has never affirmed whether “natural born citizen” means born in the country or is the same as a citizen just with American parents (just 1 in Cruz’s case).
AdLib 7 days ago
Ad — if Cruz gets the nomination, we’ll have to take it to the SCOTUS
escribacat

All right, I’m here.
funksands

All right funk
escribacat

Murph–I do worry that cruz will be treated like a martyr, which he already whines about anyway. I really can’t stand that man; he creeps me out more than trump, and that’s going some!
glenn

Are you still in the honeymoon suite after all this time?
escribacat

All right! Da funk is here!
glenn

Glenn–the Creepy is strong with that one.
escribacat

I’d better change that to the Howard Hughes Suite!
funksands

AD….if Trump were not in the race Cruz’s citizenship problem would not be front and center….so there is one good thing I think about him.
MurphTheSurf3

glenn – It’s a NY thing, you can’t be a “real” New Yorker and not eat pizza with your hands…unless you aren’t used to eating pizza which is really being in a bubble.
AdLib 7 days ago
Hey there Funk!
AdLib 7 days ago
Glenn…Cruz has no fans in the ranks of GOP regulars…they are snickering with delight…..he will only be a martyr among his own….
MurphTheSurf3

Hi funk…
MurphTheSurf3

You know I have a weird take on the GOP candidates that my wife still is pissed about.
funksands

Murph–maybe, maybe not. McCain and Carly have both weighed on cruz’s citizenship problem. Not to mention Rand. I did love Rand’s response…that cruz is eligible to be prime minister of Canada. I bet the Canadians are glad they dodged that one!
glenn

Hi Ad! Murph! Glenn! Ecat!
funksands

Murph, Rince the Prince (whatever the hell his name is) said today he’d 100% support Cruz or Trump. I thought that was interesting.
escribacat

Glenn…as I said….this is payback for the GOP regulars…thumping on the Cruzer.
MurphTheSurf3

Murph – True, Trump’s breathed life into the birther claim against Cruz…that’s his M.O. and turning Cruz into “the other” is great for him.
AdLib 7 days ago
I think Trump is the least objectionable candidate in their field. He’s awful in every way, but if the Democratic party disappeared right before the general and I was forced to vote GOP at gunpoint I might have to pick him. THAT’s scary!
funksands

Priebus will support whoever the muck hand to him cuz he wants to keep his job.
MurphTheSurf3

Ad…he does know how to be a stalking dog.
MurphTheSurf3

Scat–well Rince has to support the republican candidate, whoever he is, doesn’t he? What is he going to say? In some ways, it’s no different than the Dems, who will support either Bernie or Hillary. I’m not saying the candidates are the same; just that the chairman of the national committee has to support that party’s candidate.
glenn

Does that make me crazy? I keep thinking it.
funksands

escrib – Reince knows he’s impotent along with the RNC so of course he’s going along with whatever is happening and saying, “Yeah, this is what we want!”
AdLib 7 days ago
funk, yes you’re crazy. But there’s something to it. Most of the others are religious nuts.
escribacat

Murph–yeah, it is nice to see the right wingers dissin’ on cruz.
glenn

He very may well be the worst person in their field, but perhaps the least dangerous.
funksands

Funk….trump….really…how about Kasich- the only one on the state I would consider.
MurphTheSurf3

I can’t decide if I think Trump really believes his own bullshit. I think he just figures out what the crowd wants to hear and says it. Like Barnum and Bailey
escribacat

But Trump is not an ideologue like the others.
escribacat

Murph, he’s 100% in the “Dismantle the social contract” caucus.
funksands

Funk–that is pretty scary! Think I’d just stay home, and let them point the gun at me…if they’re just pointing it, that is.
glenn

Me too Glenn. I’d never vote for any of them.
escribacat

glenn, no kidding! I may just let wing me to teach me a lesson
funksands

Imagine what’s going to happen in the next month or so, Trump and or Cruz could be annointed as the two main competitors for the GOP nom and then in March, on Super Tuesday the South will essentially select the nom…and it ain’t gonna be Bush! The GOP establishment will be hitting the nuke button!
AdLib 7 days ago
Ad — it looks pretty bad for the GOP. They are a failed party.
escribacat

I think they have their hopes on Rubio.
escribacat

Funk….he expanded medicaid….I need to look at the rest…..
MurphTheSurf3

E-cat, he’s a salesman. He’s simply responding to what his customers want.
funksands

Which is scary funk since his best customers are crazed bigots.
escribacat

Ad…what does the GOP nuke button look like.
MurphTheSurf3

Murph, he isn’t a reactionary, he’ll take free money. True-believers won’t, stupid people won’t, but he will
funksands

Ad, I predict that at least 5 more GOP candidates will be out after NH.
funksands

Funk, well….it is not as if it will matter….Kasich stands not a whiff of a chance.
MurphTheSurf3

However, I think far fewer people will vote for Trump when it comes to doing it. I think Cruz will crush him in Iowa
funksands

Trump is being shielded from reality by the MSM too because they’re making a fortune on his candidacy. Right now, it doesn’t matter if he wins the election. But if he’s in the GE and people then turn to think about him being President with all the threats and dangers and diplomacy (let alone reputation) connected to the office of President of the U.S., he will be destroyed. Why is he bulletproof right now? Because this is just a reality show now that the MSM doesn’t want to end. But will their CEOs really want Trump’s finger on the button? No way.
AdLib 7 days ago
Ad–the gop establishment has no one to blame but themselves. They have courted these wingnuts for years, and now they are reaping what they have sown. Too damn bad for them! That’s what the kochs are complaining about, too. Once again, too damn bad! I have no sympathy for them whatsoever! They won’t stop the two biggest idiots; they won’t try to tamp down their nasty rhetoric; so too bad! My sympathy is reserved for my fellow countrymen and women who have to listen to these idiots for the next year! And, damn it, we have to GOTV!
glenn

Ecat, you got it.
funksands

Murph – I think the GOP Establishment will try to do the smoke filled room thing, make big offers to GOP candidates to get them to agree to drop out and manipulate the race into a (hopefully on their part) a two person race which could bring Trump down.
AdLib 7 days ago
If Cruz beats Trump in Iowa….Trump will go mad….he is narcissistic, meglomaniacal, and sociopathic (if not in his heart then in his public guise)….and that will set him off.
MurphTheSurf3

Ad, you hit on it. Why will Trump lose? Because people get more practical once they actually vote.
funksands

Glenn, you are right on. They’ve created a feedback loop that they can’t break out of. To the detriment of our nation.
funksands

Murph–I agree; it won’t be pretty if cruz beats trump in Iowa. There is no telling what he will do.
glenn

Ad….but who will be left who will be credible and how will that person build a base OR will they just concentrate on the House and Senate and leave the Presidency to a burnt offering.
MurphTheSurf3

Murph, I predict Cruz will beat Trump by 15% in Iowa or more.
funksands

Trump may not even finish second. I don’t think he stands a chance in caucus states.
funksands

Funk….my lord, if that happens I will be dying to see the Trump “concession” – let lose the dogs of war.
MurphTheSurf3

The dynamic is so different. It’s all about organization and turnout.
funksands

Murph – I think you’re right, Trump will get very hostile if he loses in IA. But if he wins there and in NH??? Look out GOP, he’s on the menu!
AdLib 7 days ago
Funk….but the word now is that Trump has a surprisingly robust on the ground operation.
MurphTheSurf3

You know, guys, I truly don’t which one scares me more. Cruz is the true definition of a sociopath, IMO. And trump is just plain scary with his stupid “personna”. Talk about a choice between a devil and a devil!
glenn

Happy New Year Planeteers!
Sabreen60

Funk–just curious. Why don’t you think Trump stands a chance in caucus states?
glenn

Murph, he is certainly finally hiring people, but that’s a lot different.
funksands

Hey Sabreen–Happy New Year to you too! How are you?
glenn

Hi Sabreen.
MurphTheSurf3

Glenn I’m with you. I think Cruz is capable of anything. That really scares me.
funksands

Good Friday evening, Planet peeps. The freedom fighters at the Oregon “Cowliphate” didn’t even make the evening news tonight. They’re slipping in their quest to out-Trump Trump in network coverage.
kesmarn

Funk – Yep, people can flirt with the obnoxious drunk guy in the silly season when no ultimate consequence is at stake…but with the nation and world in his hands? Nope, his support will stay with the small minority (as it is today anyway).
AdLib 7 days ago
Hello Kes
MurphTheSurf3

Doing well glenn. Funk! It’s been a while.
Sabreen60

Hey Kes! Evenin’!
AdLib 7 days ago
Hey, Murph! And Sabreen and everyone!
kesmarn

Hi Sabreen! Happy New Years to you too!
AdLib 7 days ago
Funk…you really get around
MurphTheSurf3

Glenn, I think Trump’s support is very broad, but not very deep. I don’t think that he’s attracting the really politically active on the right. The people that walk through a snowstorm to vote. That is the kind of voter that shows up and goes through the caucus process which is long, involved and takes a bit of dedication. A primary is the type of election that Trump will do better in.
funksands

Funk–you know the other day, cruz said he would “undo every unconstitutional executive order” that President Obama has made. I wrote on the comment section that he won’t undo any of the orders, because none of them are unconstitutional. I think he’s truly playing the rubes for suckers!
glenn

Hey Kes–happy new year!
glenn

Hi Kes, Murph, AdLib Escribacat. Looks like most of the gang is here.
Sabreen60

Glenn, he’ll be able to do that on day 1. Executive orders only last until the next President decides to un-do them.
funksands

Hi Kes!
funksands

Hey, funk! Is Christie going to win there in NH?
kesmarn

I hate it when I confuse Mayans and Aztecs 🙁
funksands

Funk..but his fans stand for hours hoping to get into one of his Trumptation Experiences….does that translate into caucus fever, and primary thrmbosis?
MurphTheSurf3

Kes, Christie is at 5 percent in NH
MurphTheSurf3

Murph – I think Rubio is the only hope of the Establishment Repubs but despite the hype, he is an awful (thirsty) candidate. A hollow echo machine, regurgitating portions of stump speeches is all he can do…aside from demanding that women die in childbirth if giving birth is a risk.
AdLib 7 days ago
Funk–I think you missed my point. Cruz says he will undo every UNCONSTITUTIONAL exec. order. Since none of the orders are unconstitutional; I think he is leaving himself an out when he doesn’t do it. Of course, it’s a moot point beause he will never be elected president!
glenn

Kes — “cowliphate” hilarious!
escribacat

So that endorsement from the Manchester Union isn’t worth the paper it’s printed on.
kesmarn

Thanks, E
kesmarn

I wish I could take credit for making it up!
kesmarn

Well Kes, according to the Knotty Pine cuckoo clock, which has accurately predicted the last 20 winners of the NHampshire primary, he won’t.
funksands

Hi Sabreen!
escribacat

All ther hype about Christie is such BS. He isn’t going to win in NH and where does he do well after NH? Nowhere! He’s a Rudy Giuliani, he has no prospects to win anywhere but in his fat head.
AdLib 7 days ago
AD…I watched the crowd at a Rubio event….no excitement….no heart…no emotion…
MurphTheSurf3

Glenn Cruz also said he would eliminate the IRS. Does anyone take that seriously?
escribacat

Kes–I still don’t understand why the elder bundy hasn’t been arrested; not to mention his stupid spawns!
glenn

Glenn, you might be right. I could see that kind of shifty spinelessness from him
funksands

A big from me to on Kes’ “cowliphate”!
AdLib 7 days ago
BRB foks.
glenn

glenn, I wonder about that too! There were guns pointed at federal officers in that Bundy stand off. That’s a crime!
kesmarn

Primary thrombosis! Lol
funksands

I was just reading an article about the next-to-zero amount of resources the Dept. of Homeland Security has to investigate home grown right wing terrorism.
kesmarn

By not arresting the Bundy domestic terrorists gives others a free hand to do same, IMO.
Sabreen60

As many have mentioned, having the Bundys and other militant morons like Tarp Guy exhiling themselves to frozen lands…works for me! Please, stay there until all your demands are met!
AdLib 7 days ago
exiling that is!
AdLib 7 days ago
The Southern Poverty Law Center is saying the same thing, Sabreen.
kesmarn

Kes, Glenn REGARDING Oregon……one of the best posts I read is from an attorney who has compiled a very long list of crimes for those occupying that federal building. It is his theory that they are going to let the thing whimper out and then make a number of arrests some therea and some when they go home and then throw the book at them. Many felonies here which means when they get out…no guns.
MurphTheSurf3

AdLib, there’s also the “laughing-stock-factor.” They’re making themselves look more ridiculous by the day.
kesmarn

Be back in a bit
funksands

It may take a terrible militia attack to finally turn the Feds to a zero tolerance of them. But they really undercut themselves with this stupid “stand”.
AdLib 7 days ago
That’s a great point, Murph. As convicted felons, their gun rights go bye-bye.
kesmarn

I hear that they’re starting to physically fight with each other now too. Which only adds to the loss of cred on their part.
kesmarn

Those guys obviously don’t have jobs.
escribacat

Murph – The Sheriff up there said basically that, he at least said he would arrest them once the takeover is done. The Feds should do so though to send a message to would be copycat militias that a price will be paid.
AdLib 7 days ago
I was thinking the same thing, e’cat! And some of them have young kids at home. Nice time of the year to run away from the wife and kiddies… Cabin fever and a jillion dirty diapers? Or hang with my militia buddies and drink beer? Hmmmm….decisions, decisions….
kesmarn

A mini poll, who here is strongly concerned by the threat of ISIS to Americans?
AdLib 7 days ago
NOT ! These Oath Keeper types worry me more.
kesmarn

Kes, I read that they were asking for snacks
Sabreen60

Trump supporters scare me a whole lot more than ISIS
escribacat

Sabreen one of them ran off with a bunch of donations and started drinking in a local hotel, which inspired another true believer to break down in tears. All kinds of drama.
escribacat

Ad….the sherriff claims his parents have been followed by those sympathizing with the “patriots.”
MurphTheSurf3

I heard that too, Sabreen! A whole forest full of critters and a jillion guns but they need juice boxes and Doritos.
kesmarn

Kes – The world is wonderful and it has its dangers. Murders in the US however have gone down year after year, murders of cops have gone down. More people die from eating McDonalds than ISIS. Now, if ISIS opened a fast food chain?
AdLib 7 days ago
e’cat – really? Geez! I also read the Native American community is really pissed and others in the community are scared b/c of all the guns.
Sabreen60

Ad–I’m definitely more afraid of trump and cruz and their supporters than I am of ISIS. And, possibly the governor of MI, who has “accomplished” the feat of poisoning a whole town; which is an ISIS wet dream! (no pun intended)
glenn

There’s a Muslim family in Toledo who owns a furniture store… lots of very comfy recliners and couches. All that couch-potato inactivity is more lethal than ISIS.
kesmarn

A local NA tribe told them to buzz off. They are concerned about some artifacts stored in those buildings.
escribacat

Ad Lib…the greatest threat that ISIS has for the U.S. is that the fear of the boogeyman will create a witch hunt here and engender war fever.
MurphTheSurf3

escrib – I think that it’s horrible that any innocent people are murdered. But put into perspective, it is a relatively few Americans who have been murdered by believers in Islamic extremism as opposed to just about any other group that murders. So why should the nation panic over ISIS and not panic over the many more murders by white Christians?
AdLib 7 days ago
Ad–I think you answered your own question…murders by WHITE christians! They’re white, dontcha know, so they’re really not terrorists!
glenn

Murph – And they had to close schools for a week due to concerns of violence. Want to piss off a community? Keep their kids needing care during the week.
AdLib 7 days ago
…not terrorists or murderers because they have jeebus on their side!
glenn

Yes, the figures don’t justify the terror here about ISIS. If the media began printing the daily names of people killed in gun violence, what would happen?
escribacat

AdLib – Fear of the brown & black. You tell folks that 85% of whites are killed by other whites and they put their fingers in their and it’s lalalalalalalalal
Sabreen60

In their “ears”
Sabreen60

Sabreen–before they put their fingers in their ears, they shout “Chicago!”, and “black on black crime”!
glenn

Ad I watched that town meeting with the sheriff and that crowd looked like a Trump crowd…..but man were they pissed at “the patriots.”
MurphTheSurf3

Sabreen most of these people are so stupid they don’t even know whom they hate. They go after Sikhs. A Sikh was murdered the other day by some rightwing extremist.
escribacat

Murph – You nailed it! I’m really stunned at how Republicans basically advertise what cowards they are then overcompensate with threatening fantasy-based ideas of destroying those they’re terrified of. Reasonable Americans don’t get terrified in the first place so they don’t see the need for going nuts.
AdLib 7 days ago
Ad…on the same page.
MurphTheSurf3

Murph–can anyone explain to me who you can call yourself a “patriot” when you’re fighting against your own government? Isn’t the term for a person like that an “anarchist? (sp?)
glenn

e’cat – I remember Sikhs were killed by someone who thought they were Muslim.
Sabreen60

Glenn…they are “real Americans” and not sympathizers with big government that has seized their land.
MurphTheSurf3

glenn, someone compared the militia people to Occupy and I mentioned that there’s a difference between fighting FOR justice as opposed to against it.
kesmarn

Murph–but it wasn’t their land to begin with. Those ranchers that went to jail own thousands of acres of their own; the land they torched was never their land, even before the federal government took it over.
glenn

Right. They say they want that “government land” to be returned “to the people.” But the people own it now! They want to privatize it.
kesmarn

Kes – One of the dumb tweeted that he/they were like Rosa Parks. Twitter tore him a new one.
Sabreen60

Kes–I agree, but the sad part is that the “patriots” don’t know the difference. And, excuse me, but if it’s federal land, then it’s MY land, too, since I pay my federal taxes, unlike the “patriots”.
glenn

But they claim it is their land….by homesteader logic.
MurphTheSurf3

Sabreen – That’s what annoys me about the term “straight talk” being applied to the racist propaganda from Trump and most of the GOP. We could really use some reality-based straight talk about how most serial killers and mass murderers are white and Christian. All those scary black and brown people aren’t shooting up schools and serial killing like white people are. But, that kind of “straight talk” would never be listened to.
AdLib 7 days ago
Good for Twitter, Sabreen! What an insult to Rosa Parks!
kesmarn

Murph–so if I go out west to “homestead” some land, these “patriots” would have no problem with that?
glenn

Glenn….oh no…they are already there
MurphTheSurf3

glenn – It’s the same logic of how RW extremists claim to be pro-life but support Stand Your Ground murders of innocent people and of course executions. Hypocrisy is what they’re all about, insisting other people betray their beliefs while living that lie in denial their whole lives.
AdLib 7 days ago
By that logic, the land belongs to the local native American tribe.
escribacat

I think the Paiutes would agree, e’cat.
kesmarn

Murph, IOW, “first come, first served?”
glenn

Ad–I know, hypocrisy is their name, alright. It’s amazing that these people who complain about Obama taking away their rights have no problem with taking away the rights of others!
glenn

I’m really beginning to think many on the right are sociopaths. They even man fun of PBO’s tears when he talked about the 20 little kids who were slain. They have no feelings for adults or kids. They could care less that 30,000 people die from guns each year. And they certainly don’t care that those of us who pay Fed taxes own the land they are squating on.
Sabreen60

Glenn…that is a good extension to their thinking.
MurphTheSurf3

Sabreen60

Murph–do you remember that movie years ago with Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman where they showed how the “homesteaders” raced each other to the west when the government “opened up” the west? These people are nothing but land grabbers (grubbers) whose ancestors just grabbed the land. And are still making money off of MY land!
glenn

Sabreen–not to worry; we knew what you meant.
glenn

These militia types have a fictional history of America they imagine. And they lie when confronted. That Bundy son lied and said that the Feds had taken away the land they have from farmers, just came in and took it. Truth is, due to overfarming and climate, the farmers went into bankruptcy and the Feds helped out by buying their farms to set up a national park. Proof, these “Patriots” are just small minded, hateful liars who have constructed a phony scenario to make themselves feel moral when they knwo deep down they are immoral and losers.
AdLib 7 days ago
And yet the right is totally OK with militia men sitting behind the wheels of their cars and weeping real tears of self pity and drama queen histrionics.
kesmarn

Glenn…Far and Away….a good film with a good lesson.
MurphTheSurf3

Murph–except the “militia” haven’t learned the lesson, and as Ad says, have created their own history to suit their agenda.
glenn

Sabreen — that was so disgusting what the idiots on Fox News said about Obama’s tears for the little kids. I was in tears watching him. It was an incredibly moving moment when he did that. Wow, I still get chills. But Andrea Tantaros on Fox said he had an onion and the others made fun of it!!! Imagine.
escribacat

Ad….another angle put to the side is that a lot of the land has always been Fed since the days of the territories – in the midwest it was farmable and scooped up. In the west a lot of it wasn’t and remained unclaimed wilderness.
MurphTheSurf3

Those assholes really are sociopaths. They are emotionally stunted.
escribacat

Sabreen – Yes, it has become an exercise in blind, maniacal hatred to see those on the RW attack Obama for showing compassion for murdered children. And in doing so, they show their own lack of humanity…which for Repubs, seems to be a plus. They hate minorities, the poor, women, anyone who believes differently, etc.
AdLib 7 days ago
If crying over murdered children is offensive to someone, that person needs a mental health professional.

Trevor Noah had a great piece on the Obama gun speech and his tears.

And in the meantime Obama is crusing right along empowered by so many of his initiatives, by his restraint, by his style, by his boldness and by the madness on the right.

I am sort of, kind of warming up to Trevor, but not that much….still a good segment.
MurphTheSurf3

Scat–The tarantula (Andrea Tantaros) said it was unbelievable that President Obama would cry over that. I thought Trevor Noah’s response was spot on. He said, “Are you f**king kidding me? Shedding tears when you think of murdered children is not really believable? You know what, there is something here that’s not really believable: the fact that the rest of us have to share the title of human being with you.”
glenn

Murph – People are really going to look back on the Obama days as amazing days. He has accomplished more for a majority of Americans than any President since Johnson.
AdLib 7 days ago
Scat–great minds think alike!
glenn

Glenn LOL. It really was a great line, what Noah said.

Ad — that’s exactly what I was thinking when I watched Obama’s gun speech the other day. I thought how much I would miss him and how lucky we’ve been to have him and how we’re not likely to get another one as great as he is.
escribacat

Murph – Trevor is fine. He’s not remarkable, a bit shallow (too many dick jokes and mocking of people), The Daily Show is not a must-watch anymore but he does have some clever segments at times. He is a terrible interviewer though, I usually skip the interviews.
AdLib 7 days ago
Ad…with you. I am so glad I got the chance to work for his 2008 campaign as much as I did and for the ACA.
