Vox Populi, our weekly live chat on the week’s events begins tonight at 7:00 pm PDT. Guest hosting tonight will be everyone’s favorite choice, Choicelady! Don’t miss out on the best Friday night discussion on politics right here at 7:00 pm PDT!
AdLib 7 days ago
Hi everyone – be sure to say “Hi” or “BeenCrazi” when you check in. See you at 7 pm PDT!
choicelady

Evening all – check in at any time you like. LOTS to talk about tonight!
choicelady

Well it’s just a matter of time until the Behghazi commission finds that email from Blumenthal to HRC about the guns and wmd’s they sent to ISIS in Europe for baby parts that they will trade for drugs to support PP.
Harleigh

I know, i know – and that’s why one of the zanies said they “needed more time to get to the important stuff.” Yeah – I’d defer that to after 11 hours of nothing. Sure…
choicelady

Good evening CL, Harleigh.
glenn

Hey glenn! How are you?
choicelady

Doing well, CL. Can’t stay long tonight; going to Florida tomorrow for my sister’s 70th birthday (my older sister).
glenn

HI ladies. Well I had to work but caught thetail end where Cummins gave the commission the punchline.
Harleigh

glenn – wow have a great time! On the other hand, do you risk anything from the hurricane in Mexico? Stay alert down there!
choicelady

Harleigh – he was marvelous, wasn’t he?
choicelady

where in floriduh?
Harleigh

Harleigh–I think Hillary did a sterling job at that stupid hearing; but Cummins was the star!
glenn

Harleigh–Dunedin.
glenn

glenn – Cummins was great, but as one who lived through a 2-hour oral exam, I think HILLARY deserves the silver star for cool under fire!
choicelady

It was nothing like the trolls at the Hill or Newsmax said about her being perp walked to prison! LMAO Not that I ever go there and poke trolls mind you.
Harleigh

CL–don’t think there’s any risk from the hurricane; maybe some rain. Talked to my nephew this morning; he’s driving over to Dunedin from Stuart (IOW from the east coast to the west coast) and he didn’t say anything about the weather, so I’m hoping for the best.
glenn

glenn – stay safe. Harleigh = I saw her leave the house. On her own, alone, no “perp walk” since among other things, she broke no laws. NONE.
choicelady

No biggie on the weather down here currently.
Harleigh

CL–I really think it was a toss-up, because without Cummins (and the other Dems like Schiff and Duckworth), the repubs would not have been taken to task. Hillary did a great job of not rising to their bait; and Cummins just ripped their bait out of their hands, IMO!
glenn

I saw on the weather reports that it seems the Texas coast, maybe LA will get hit. From there? Anyone’s guess. It’s now down to the 3rd largest storm ever. Yikes.
choicelady

They got nothin and proved it. the RWNJ are furious.
Harleigh

glenn – I do agree! Gowdy said ‘nothing new’ as if that somehow proved something nefarious. One tells nothing new when one is telling the truth.
choicelady

glenn – I am so glad the Dems on the committee stuck it to the GOP. I’ve never seen such infantile behavior as from the Republican members.
choicelady

Well at least Gowdy Doody can still lie about all the secret testimony! muhahaha
Harleigh

Harleigh – not much stay secret, does it?
choicelady

Is this working? I’m getting stuck and might have to change computers.
choicelady

they need to have more votes repealing obamacare, PP ACORN and the IRS. the RWNJ”s are furious that Lois was not guilty of any crimes as well! Those poor little stupid baggers.
Harleigh

Harleigh–not only did they prove they got nothin’, Gowdy admitted it! But the rwnj are not going to give up. Scarborough said on his show this morning that he still has questions, but the republicans on the committee didn’t ask them. For the life of me, I can’t imagine any other questions to be asked!
glenn

CL–you’re coming through loud and clear!
glenn

glenn – if Scarborough has questions, why did he not tell the committee what was on his mind?
choicelady

I see you cl!!!! go towards the light!!!!……..
Harleigh

glenn – seems OK for now…
choicelady

Harleigh – LOL!!!!!
choicelady

Harleigh–they have appointed or are going to appoint another committee to investigate PP, and they have come up with a “filibuster proof” way of repealing Obamacare, so when it goes to the Senate, it will pass. However, some senators are saying it “doesn’t go far enough.” Bunch of morons and a waste oxygen, not to mention MY tax dollars!
glenn

Well why was Stevens there with 3 mercs in a empty rental in the middle of the night? LOL
Harleigh

One thing – I know lots of us have not been happy that for some years it seemed as if Hillary was being handed the nom. After the last few weeks, I’d say she earned whatever she has gotten. ELEVEN HOURS???? That is a national record, and she held up to it all with substance.
choicelady

CL–because if the questions are answered, then what is Scarborough going to talk about on his show? How will he bash Hillary if she answers the questions, though, once again, I can’t figure out what the questions are. Maybe Mika should read the seven previous committees’ reports to him.
glenn

Harleigh – some of the committee implied she was having it off the night the four died. Now the specter of Stevens doing something illicit. Shows what THEIR preoccupations and experience all are.
choicelady

Well it’s easier to stand up to bullshit when half the panel and country know it’s pure BS.
Harleigh

Allo!
Beatlex

Beatlex – Allo to you as well. How is a Harper-free Canada sitting with you?
choicelady

CL–I must agree with you; if ever you saw a demonstration of presidential presence, you saw it yesterday in that hearing room. She outObamaed President Obama for calmness, collectedness, and coolness. All the while Gowdy was working up a NIxonian sweat!
glenn

Hey Beatlex–from the land of liberals!
glenn

hey beatlex
Harleigh

glenn – Gowdy looked sick at the end. That oily sheen – made him more reptilian than ever.
choicelady

CL–Gowdy always looks sick to me; his facial structure is just so out of whack, IMO.
glenn

glenn – I have had my reservations about Hillary. I don’t have many anymore.
choicelady

glenn – he took his hair styling from the late Jim Trafficant. Not a good choice…
choicelady

I think he must use too much hair grease and it runs down his face.
Harleigh

Harleigh – I don’t think so. I think that IS his face.
choicelady

CL–I still have my reservations about Hillary’s ties with corporate America. However, I have been trying to be objective, and I do think that businesses should have a place at the table; it just shouldn’t be the ONLY place.
glenn

lol a honky hick greaser
Harleigh

To all pols who sweat oil sweat I have ONE suggestion – witch hazel.
choicelady

Harleigh–eeww
glenn

glenn – I think she’d agree with you.
choicelady

I bet he has to pay triple to get a ho even by the hour. eeewwwww
Harleigh

CL–I was very impressed with Hillary’s interview with Rachel Maddow tonight. Did you see it?
glenn

nope
Harleigh

Harleigh–stop–you’re right–that’s even more eeewwww!
glenn

I got into it with bank reform advocate, Ellen Brown. She wants all small banks no big ones, but our experiences in Sacramento showed the small banks were often as crooked as large ones and some large ones OK. It lies in good regulation, and that is what HRC advocates.
choicelady

Harleigh–are you saying nope you didn’t see the interview?
glenn

Just fine Harl, that is the way we do it here,if we want change we have no problem voting to throw the bums out, usually between 5-10 years.Justin Trudeau is going to spend to kickstart our economy,we need it anyway. Our Parties generally govern from the middle once in power. We can`t touch you guys for all out brawling, the party here gets their way on all bills.Seems to work better than what you guys do.Like majority rules
Beatlex

glenn – yes, watching with one eye, and the clock with the other. VERY good interview.
choicelady

beautiful day here! hi everybody
pinkpantheroz

I missed it. I got kind over RM when she started saying the same setup and question four times over and over.
Harleigh

CL–and therein lies the problem. What exactly is “good regulation” and who oversees it, and who pays for it?
glenn

Harleigh – that all sounds VERY good. Now if the worst happens and a GOP gets in, move over and give us room. We’re coming your way!
choicelady

hey ppo
Harleigh

glenn – Dodd Frank did a lot, and we can get more IF voters are sensible and give us a decent Congress! We had excellent oversight for years — can do it again.
choicelady

Hi PPO!!!
choicelady

Beatlex–lately, I think almost any civilized country governs better than we do. Mostly because we have the rwnj who don’t want to govern; they want to obstruct government. And, right now, they are doing a damn fine job of it to this country’s detriment.
glenn

just saw the highlights of the useless hearing. HRC done good, didn’t she?
pinkpantheroz

glenn – we need a constitutional amendment – if you hate government, you cannot run to represent it.
choicelady

Hey PPO, how goes it down under?
glenn

PPO – HRC done bloody brilliantly!
choicelady

We cannot change all the gerrymandering and get the house back for a long time.
Harleigh

PPO–Yes, Hillary did a great job. She was cool and Gowdy was sweating. Kudos to Elijah Cummins, too.
glenn

Harleigh – the DOJ is investigating more and more of these cases. The only thing gutted in the SCOTUS decision was PRIOR oversight but not new complaints. They are flooding the DOJ rapidly!
choicelady

hey glenn. finestkind. Lovely day, we get a PUBLIC holiday next tuesday week, Nov 2 for a Horse Race!
pinkpantheroz

I feel for you guys,it is too bad the right and left don`t work together.Pipe dream I guess
Beatlex

I read that the new word for ‘really stupid’ in scandanvia is ‘texas’. lol
Harleigh

PPO – what is your call on outcomes?
choicelady

Cummins certainly called Gowdy out big time!,
pinkpantheroz

Harleigh – I saw that! LOL!!!
choicelady

PPO – Cummins ripped him a new one indeed!
choicelady

cl, which outcomes, the elections or the hearings?
pinkpantheroz

PPO – your elections.
choicelady

well then the texas teabggers really are gonna be pissed when they find out in a few months.
Harleigh

CL–Don’t you love republicans? Now their new darling is Ben Carson, and one of the reasons they love him is that he has no foreign affairs experience. I kid you not; that was on a list given on the Chris Matthews show tonight. Also, they love him because he has no government experience. Now, I may be old; but if memory serves me right; that “2 a.m. phone call” thingy was leveled against Hillary in the 2008 election, and the “community organizer” thingy against President Obama. Yet, 8 years later, those are the two things repubs want!
glenn

Harleigh – the TX TP can’t read. Not to worry. Won’t hurt their feelings since they won’t know.
choicelady

cl, have they called one already???? didn’t know that, but if they go now with Turnbull in the PM position, I think the Condservatives will keep power, dammit!
pinkpantheroz

Evening all – I totally lost track of time. How y’all doin?
sillylittleme

Harleigh–I don’t think the word is for “stupid”; I think it’s for “crazy”. Either way, it fits!
glenn

They werethe last of the baggers to find out what a bagger is! LOL
Harleigh

glenn – for the GOP whatever they hate about Dems they love about themselves.
choicelady

hi slm
Harleigh

Sorry PPO – thought you were talking about your elections. I’m lost here…
choicelady

HEY SLM – good to see you!
choicelady

SLM–doing well; how about you? I’m not taking anything away from Bernie; but Hillary sure as hell nailed that committee hearing, didn’t she?
glenn

Harleigh – someone asked me what teabagging was, and I was too embarrassed to answer.
choicelady

never mind, cl, we all get seniors moments, especially me!
pinkpantheroz

I happened to have a sick day the day of the hearing(seriously) And between naps and breaks for lunch, then supper,LOL The Republicans were at their most pathetic, now we know why Hillary demanded they be broadcast, she is one smart Lady! She made mincemeat out of them.
Beatlex

PPO – you’re too kind. I’m just losing track of nations other than this one. Too much stuff!
choicelady

CL–that’s funny. When the tea party first organized, and all my friends were laughing about “teabagging”, I had to ask them what it meant. I truly didn’t know.
glenn

Beatlex – how ARE you, by the way. I’m glad you got to see it all though, but not if it means you’re not OK.
choicelady

lol CL. the baggers are now saying it does not refer to the one on their knees but the one standing up!!! seriously.
Harleigh

I’ll be polite and say, since I watched all of it. Well she was herself. I still want to know why ambassadors wouldn’t have her email address. Never worked anywhere where the entire company didn’t have access to the upper echelon.
sillylittleme

Beatlex–so did the hearing make you sicker?
glenn

glenn – and I still don’t WANT to know!
choicelady

Congrats B – Trudeau is starting out quite fine
sillylittleme

beatlex, have any new polls come out since the hearing, and what is the result?
pinkpantheroz

Harleigh–see, now you’ve lost me again. There are two ways of “teabagging”?
glenn

SLM – she said she did not know if Stevens had it but did have her State office email address rather than her personal one.
choicelady

lol glenn
Harleigh

Choice – its still weird, and I wonder what the FBI is looking at…
sillylittleme

SLM – the FBI is checking the security of the server. Not HER.
choicelady

Beatlex–I agree. I think Hillary outsmarted gowdy and his pals by making sure the hearing was open and televised. Showed them up for the fools they are.
glenn

cl, while they’re at it , can they also check the servers of the chiefs of the CIA and FBI??
pinkpantheroz

the FBI was trying to find out if her server was hacked. no it wasn’t
Harleigh

glenn – it was a very wise move. She made them look fools, showed their immaturity, and bored people stiff all at the same time.
choicelady

Choice – they are looking at more than that. I am willing to wait and see what they say
sillylittleme

PPO – I don’t know what the warrant is, but since there were back and forth emails, it may be covered.
choicelady

Good Friday evening, kids! Have we decided what Bernie was doing all night at Hillary’s house in 2012 yet?
kesmarn

Hey Kes
sillylittleme

about the hearings, I think it’s time someone said, as they did with McCarthy, ‘Haven’t you done enough?”
pinkpantheroz

Hey, SLM! How’re you doing?
kesmarn

Awesome and how is Kes?
sillylittleme

hi kes! I have it on good authority HRC was with the gardeners son.
Harleigh

SLM – no, that’s their charge. There were five attempts to hack the personal server that failed. The government one WAS hacked. So they are double checking on security. That’s the directive. There was nothing criminal or even against rules about what she did, but the server is unique so being checked out.
choicelady

Glenn,I am having some problems getting the meds right for my IBS that I was recently dianosed with. The severity of the system can vary wildly, and it seems I am having some of the serious effects,I will get the meds right, part of it is diet too
Beatlex

Doing well. And Harleigh, that sound pretty exciting — especially for a woman of a certain age!
kesmarn

Harleigh – don’t be silly she has no sexual interest whatsoever, that’s why her hubby’s a philanderer
sillylittleme

Beatex I am sorry you have to go through that! Hope you get balanced.
choicelady

++Symtom++ oops
Beatlex

beat, sorry to hear that. My lady suffers from the same prob. Very restrictive in your life, isn’t it?
pinkpantheroz

B – hope you find balance
sillylittleme

SLM – that seems an observation without a source? Whyever would you remotely think that?
choicelady

Monica Lewinsky, Jennifer Flowers, need I go on? She has the face of a woman who hasn’t had an orgasm in so long she forgot what they felt like
sillylittleme

LOL slm
Harleigh

CL–still trying to figure out, as Cummins pointed out, why the CIA and DOD weren’t there at that hearing. Still don’t understand why the CIA is getting a “pass” on their responsibility in Benghazi. That consulate wasn’t only a consulate, or a “mission”; it was a CIA station, too. That was one of the reasons the locals were so upset.
glenn

OZ,it is hard fining the balance, when I get it right I feel fine
Beatlex

Harleigh – passing my bowl
sillylittleme

SLM, I think that might be MArtha Roby’s face. Talk about repressed!! “It’s NOT funneeeee!!”
kesmarn

SLM – That’s a really nasty and anti-woman thing to say! I’m shocked you’d do that!
choicelady

thx slm… tok tok
Harleigh

Glenn – and why would they have a safe room with no egress. The whole thing stinks
sillylittleme

KES!!!! Great to see you!
choicelady

Hey, c’lady! It’s been a long time!
kesmarn

Actually I think that women who don’t acknowledge their sexuality are anti-feminist
sillylittleme

C’mon, SMot, where are you?
pinkpantheroz

Hey Kes–why Bernie was doing “socialist” thingies, dontcha know? In all seriousness, though, I’m very glad that Bernie is running; I think he’s keeping Hillary on her toes, and making her stick to progressive values and ideas.
glenn

that building was not on stete dept books and was unstaffed. weird
Harleigh

Pink – he probably fell asleep.
sillylittleme

SLM – but you know nothing of her private life! None of us does.
choicelady

maybe it was a local crack house
Harleigh

I was thinking of you when there were photos published of 100 people harassing patients at a reproductive health clinic in Toledo. You know that story.
kesmarn

grabbing a gasper, BRB
pinkpantheroz

Beatlex–sorry to hear about your imbalance. Hope you get it right soon.
glenn

Harleigh – one of the people who died in Benghazi was a colleague of mine, so let’s not go over the top here. I have no clue why they were there other than it was not evil. That wasn’t what Glenn would do.
choicelady

Hill will have the same result as in ’08. I called Biden from the beginning and I was wrong on Trump, but I’ll take two out of three. You people have no idea what’s about to hit this world. Its called liberalism and it isn’t a bit corporatist.
sillylittleme

glenn, I feel the same about Bernie. In fact, he’s my first choice.
kesmarn

kes – me you mean?
choicelady

I have no clue about why or what they were there for. neither does that stupid fuckin committee! lol
Harleigh

Yes, c’lady. Oops…guess I forgot to mention your name. Some real extremists coming to the fore here in Ohio now.
kesmarn

SLM – whoever is the nom, I will vote for him or her because the alternative is horrid.
choicelady

Same here. Whoever is the Dem nominee has my vote!
kesmarn

kes – where in OH? I worry about how fired up they are. Moving in on moderate to liberal states in force. Last gasp and a violent one.
choicelady

CL–I’ll second that!
glenn

vote dem. already signed up to vote by mail here.
Harleigh

Toledo, c’lady. It’s about to get real, as they say.
kesmarn

Ok Choice – I didn’t come here to fight, just want you Hill supporters to start getting let down easy. That’s all. Lower expectations so you won’t be crushed. The millenials won’t be aligning with Hill.
sillylittleme

Okay, folks, I’m out of here. Early morn tomorrow to catch my flight. See y’all next week!
glenn

kes – I hope there is no violence.
choicelady

G’night, glenn. Safe travels!
kesmarn

Nite Glenn safe travels and have fun!!
sillylittleme

Very much hoping that too, CL.
kesmarn

SLM – the base is POC millennials who are not yet convinced of Bernie. So it’s up for grabs I think.
choicelady

night glenn!fly safe
Harleigh

glenn – safe journey and a wonderful weekend!
choicelady

Now that Webb is out – will he go rogue and run indie – and will it matter?
choicelady

Choice – ok you can think that, but if you aren’t out on main st and your getting your news from any of the 6 corporate stations (even local) you’re probably blind to the truth. And that’s how the corporate owned media want you to be.
sillylittleme

Choice – I actually think the Rs may recruit him. Voice of reason and all.
sillylittleme

SLM – what makes you assume I’m not on the street? it’s where I do everything. But it’s in POC communities mostly. Immigrant and Black and some Asian. People are not trusting him. Might. Not yet.
choicelady

only a tear away from the election… gary hart, dukakus, edwards, gore, kerry…. oh my
Harleigh

oops, year away lol
Harleigh

Harleigh – much can change, yes indeed.
choicelady

I think Webb may give it a try, but money’s going to be a major problem. And I think he overestimates the number of people who are truly in the middle now. The nation is more polarized than he realizes.
kesmarn

Choice – what state?
sillylittleme

kes – I don’t see Webb as the voice of the white working man at all. I think he has a very narrow window between union and would-be union people and Trump/Tea Party types.
choicelady

CA and OH and PA and NY – I move around a lot.
choicelady

webb may as well go home, it’s all HRC and Bern for the nom unless something drastic occurs.
Harleigh

Exactly, CL. He doesn’t have a broad enough base to make it.
kesmarn

harleigh – you missed hillary in ’08, oh my indeed
sillylittleme

Harleigh – what about O’Malley?
choicelady

I actually like O’Malley, but I’m afraid this is just not going to be his year.
kesmarn

I switch to OBAMA )*!! still got my sticker too!. It was a shock.
Harleigh

kes – I agree.
choicelady

Choice – well if my twitter followers are any indication, that isn’t possible. We’ll see as the ballots get counted.
sillylittleme

SLM – WHAT isn’t possible – lost the thread here.
choicelady

Kevin should take the money and run
Harleigh

Harleigh – Kevin? Now I’m REALLY lost unless you mean McCarthy whom I slightly know and loathe big time.
choicelady

Choice – that POC in that many states are leery of him. If it helps, the original black lives matter group in Boston is all for Bernie.
sillylittleme

SLM – We will see, and we will see who actually votes. Either way I know it has to be a Dem or we’re doomed.
choicelady

Nate Silver, the statistician is saying HIllary will be the nominee based on current mathematical projections. My own favorite mathematician projects a Hillary vs Trump scenario — although he’s a very ardent Bernie fan personally. But numbers and projections are always changing, so neither of them has etched those projections in granite.
kesmarn

sorry, I meant Martin omally, Democrats ▸ Hillary Clinton. Lawrence Lessig. Martin O’Malley. Bernie Sanders. never heard of lessig
Harleigh

Choice – it has to be the right candidate or we lose either way. Why can’t we follow in the footsteps of the UK, Canada and soon Australia. Why do we have to be the only ones to be left behind as the rest of the civilized world moves forward.
sillylittleme

c’lady, is Kevin McCarthy really as dumb as he seems?
kesmarn

kes – Nate is pretty good at presidential stuff, yes, but I’m thinking Trump is sinking. But in relation to CARSON who makes me utterly ill!
choicelady

Harleigh – Lessig is a Harvard Law School professor. He’s looking to reverse CU.
sillylittleme

kes – yes. He is just as dumb as he seems. Heard him at the Press Club just before he went to Congress, and he’s mind-bogglingly stupid.
choicelady

cl, carson’s shortcomings will be there for all to see pretty soon
pinkpantheroz

Carson strikes me as a genuinely crazy person. He’s not faking it the way Trump is. He’s the real deal.
kesmarn

Kes – they are all paid to say the crap that comes out of their mouths
sillylittleme

SLM – that is ALL he’s doing. I find him offensive.
choicelady

The Republicans on that panel are not stupid people, they just do and say stupid things. There ever dissapearing base is starting to get very restless, the R`s havn`t kept ONE promise from the 2014 election. They are finally waking up to Republican lies
Beatlex

Choice – in what way? offensive?
sillylittleme

kes – he had a brain problem of some kind. I think he IS demented.

Harleigh

SLM – to run on ONE issue as if that was sufficient. It’s theatrical and insulting.
choicelady

Oh Carson is heavily medicated.
sillylittleme

I agree, c’lady. Either that or he’s on some meds that are not being managed well. And I’m serious about that!
kesmarn

ke – totally agree.
choicelady

Hah! jinx, SLM!
kesmarn

slm-lol
Beatlex

Choice – well there are some who want to vote for someone specifically based on gender, to me that is more insulting. He’s one candidate, they are many voters.
sillylittleme

SLM – I think you’re right!
choicelady

slm, just the right kind of nut to have the Release Codes, dontcha think?
pinkpantheroz

Kes – we are of one mind
sillylittleme

SLM – I agree. Voting on any ONE issue is not paying attention.
choicelady

PPO, that’s a truly scary thought.
kesmarn

carson said slavery was a good thing so blacks could vist the tropical islands, come to murikkka and find jebus. now THAT is fuckin looney as shit.
Harleigh

Pink – I fear how he’d be when he wasn’t medicated
sillylittleme

Choice –
sillylittleme

Harleigh – yup. Looney.
choicelady

But if slavery was so good, Harleigh, how come Obamacare is comparable to it????
kesmarn

free stuff kes!! LOL
Harleigh

kes!!!! You have found the essential contradiction!!! You need to be in political spin doctoring!
choicelady

My second career!! Sounds great!
kesmarn

For creating high blood pressure, that is…
kesmarn

kes – well…there IS that…
choicelady

And I’ve gotten this far without it…
kesmarn

there is so much spin in the GOP that they’ve circled the wagons and are driving straight up thier own arses.
pinkpantheroz

Obamacare will get you free meds!
Harleigh

kes – OK – keep it that way! Take up gardening instead?
choicelady

lol ppo
Harleigh

Carson should be all for Obamacare then!
kesmarn

PPO!!! That is TOO funny!
choicelady

kes grow reefer!
Harleigh

Harleigh – then kes needs to come out to CO or, soon we hope, CA.
choicelady

I dunno… I have a knack for killing plants… Maybe pottery?
kesmarn

Rather than pot?
kesmarn

carson said obamacare is bad, he just can’t remember why.
Harleigh

Harleigh, at last Australia is looking to decriminalise medical pot.
pinkpantheroz

kes – that’s fine. Just don’t give it as presents right off…
choicelady

Harleigh – Pots, not pot.
choicelady

PPO – seriously? With YOUR leaders? I thought they were death on deciminalizing.
choicelady

cl, votegetting. Need I say more/
pinkpantheroz

Ok so did no one see today that Obama wants to end the drug war and start a war on addiction, also Warren and Sanders introduced a bill to end Glass-Steagall.
sillylittleme

cl… you do know all repubs and ideas are from cracked pot right? LMAO
Harleigh

Ohio has not one but TWO marijuana issues on the Nov. ballot.
kesmarn

PPO – ahhhh. Makes sense.
choicelady

cracked pots
Harleigh

kes – I heard that from friends in Y’town.
choicelady

Pot will be decriminalized by Xmas
sillylittleme

Harleigh – that could be taken any number of ways!
choicelady

True story. And one directly contradicts the other.
kesmarn

slm, profits will be way down in Prisonland
pinkpantheroz

Marijuana legalization would be a huge gubmint problem! First think about all the hundreds of thousands of drug related police and their corrupt activities at the local, state and federal levels that would be out of work. Then all the MJ only prisoners could be released and the ensuing consolidation would put thousands of prison workers onto unemployment. Then the courts would be unclogged and actually have to work again. Is this what we really want fer Murikkka just so everybody can smoke a harmless/beneficial substance that would create millions of jobs in dozens of new industries generating billions in revenues? I think not… way to smart for duhmurikkka.
Harleigh

Hey folks!
KillgoreTrout

PPO – we are trying to legalize it in CA so that yes, there is NO justification for more prisons.
choicelady

Ok I’m going to NYC tomorrow for the anti-police rally. Everyone have a great week
sillylittleme

You traveled all the way from Tralfamador, Homie!
kesmarn

hey, KT!
pinkpantheroz

Hey KT!
choicelady

Safe travels, SLM!
kesmarn

hi KT!
Harleigh

SLM – have a good rally and stay safe!
choicelady

be careful, SLM, don’t give ’em any excuse
pinkpantheroz

later slm, duck the bullets!
Harleigh

Hey Homie. Yeah, the Tralfamadorians have great public transportation!
KillgoreTrout

Hey Harleigh!
KillgoreTrout

They must have no Republicans there then..
kesmarn

PPO I probably will get busted for sitting in City Hall here in CA in Dec. I figured I’d just GO in cuff bands and save the cops the trouble.
choicelady

cl, LOL!
pinkpantheroz

They were outlawed several millenia ago.
KillgoreTrout

lol
Harleigh

Wise Tralfamadorians.
kesmarn

The best!
KillgoreTrout

c’lady, what will the issue be in Dec. for the sit in?
kesmarn

kes – the abuses of homeless people. I currently have five living in the backyard. But we have stood up for them, have been firm but fair with the cops – they don’t hassle me. Word on the street is not to mess with choicelady. But sit ins at City Hall? Whole ‘nother thing. Figured I’d be compliant and polite so they STILL don’t resent me.
choicelady

That is awesome! You’re walking a fine line there, but what a good thing you’re doing!
kesmarn

this has to be short and sweet, I’m afraid. Gotta go get dinner for tonight. Have a good weekend, everyone. Take care all you protesters and stay safe.
pinkpantheroz

How are the neighbors with the “campers” in the back yard?
kesmarn

G’night, PPO! Have a great weekend!
kesmarn

CL, that’s wonderful. They must be really grateful for you providing a safe place to sleep nights. That’s one of the biggest problems with being homeless.
KillgoreTrout

kes – the five are all in line for housing, but in the meantime they HAVE to avoid the sweeps. So four are in the garage in two tents, and one outside for the time being with his adorable cat. We keep the cat in a huge cage at night and on a leash by day for his safety. He does GREAT and actually does not mind since he was a little kitten when it started. So I guess I actually have six creatures, five human and one feline.
choicelady

KT – they all say it’s the first time they’ve slept in years.
choicelady

I bet! I’ve been there.
KillgoreTrout

They are SO fortunate to have you in their lives.
kesmarn

KT – yes, I remember you have. Glad you’re not anymore!
choicelady

CL, you are practicing genuine spirituality. The real thing.
KillgoreTrout

kes – they are all nice people. Two couples, one single gay guy. And a neutered cat. Interesting community.
choicelady

I don’t mean to pry but are you letting them use shower facilities and such? Feeding them? (Feel free NOT to answer.) Not being nosy, but just wondering about the logistics of this.
kesmarn

KT – during the Great Depression my grandmother did the same. She fed people and gave them shelter. One man lived for several years as the handyman with a cot in the basement. Just following tradition.
choicelady

It’s a great tradition.
KillgoreTrout

My grandmother fed people during the Depression too. Even when she didn’t have much herself.
kesmarn

The fundies could learn a thing or two from your grandmothers.
KillgoreTrout

kes – I’m lucky – there is a bathroom a block up open 24/7 and shower facilities about half a mile from here they use weekly. I do some laundry based on who has money, who doesn’t. They all have food stamps and a little money.
choicelady

Homie, my grandmother was so gullible, she didn’t even make the “hoboes” (as they were called) WORK for their food. How naive is that!?
kesmarn

nite ppo
Harleigh

kes – during the Depression, tramps and hobos as they were called, would draw the sign of a cat on houses. It means ‘kind hearted women here’. There was one on my grandparents’ home. I don’t see that, but word of mouth is there is always a couple of sandwiches to be found and fruit. I’m known as the neighborhood fruit pusher.
choicelady

Was it really naivte, homie? Nah!
KillgoreTrout

Oh I missed PPO leaving! So sorry!
choicelady

That sounds great, c’lady. They have the feeling that they’re doing what they can, and you’re also doing what you can. Which is all we can do, no?
kesmarn

Homie, only naivete to the GOP! To human beings, it was/is human decency.
kesmarn

kes – they help me a lot. Odd jobs, sweeping, whatever they can. I call it my ‘condo in the back’.
choicelady

Sure was/is.
KillgoreTrout

The GOP can suck eggs. Life is terribly hard when your income is low and rents are “too damned high”! NO ONE works harder than the homeless.
choicelady

I have to say though, one must be cautious. Not all homeless people are decent.
KillgoreTrout

Well, that blows the Paul Ryan concept of the poor, doesn’t it? That they don’t want to do any odd jobs?
kesmarn

KT – I know, and I live in the part of the city where the nice ones go to get away from the dangerous ones. We’re very working class but quiet. And the good guys protect me from the bad guys. And a few druggie women.
choicelady

Carson says they are mostly lazy criminals.
Harleigh

Harleigh – gosh. I thought that was the GOP?
choicelady

That’s good CL.
KillgoreTrout

KT, the hospital where I worked served (in part) a very poor area and that was the story there. There were people who were the salt of the earth, but there were some who were predatory — there’s no other word for it.
kesmarn

kes – I have never met a street person worse than some white educated professionals for ‘predatory’.
choicelady

That’s exactly the right word. Must be republicans!
KillgoreTrout

cl crazy carson is the epiome of the gopbaggers.
Harleigh

THAT is the truth, c’lady! Some of the wealthy patients were intolerable.
kesmarn

And the Wall Street predators can inflict damage on a so much more massive scale.
kesmarn

kes – there IS one guy universally disliked that I have barked at a lot. I insist that “Yo Mama” is an inappropriate greeting and that showing up drugged is NOT on. He gets help when he acts like a human being – which means not cussing out other homeless people. He’s scared of me. I can cut him off the peanut butter.
choicelady

I would love to see a few 1%ers homeless.
KillgoreTrout

c’lady, when you control the peanut butter, you have the POWER.
kesmarn

KT – it is one reason why the movie ‘Trading Places’ so appeals.
choicelady

kes – oh, yeahhhhhh.
choicelady

well I’m noddin out floks see ya next week.
Harleigh

Good point CL. They couldn’t handle it.
KillgoreTrout

kes – and I have cup of soup in the winter. I rule with an iron crock pot.
choicelady

folks…. lol
Harleigh

First on my list, Homie, would be that Martin Shkreli who raised the price of the AIDS med 5000$
kesmarn

Good night HArleigh – hope you get nothing of the hurricane!
choicelady

OOps…5000%
kesmarn

CL, you despot, you!
KillgoreTrout

G’night, Harleigh!
kesmarn

The Soup Nazi!!
kesmarn

night cl. floriduh is safe for now.
Harleigh

Night Harleigh. Take a toke for me.
KillgoreTrout

kes – there is a compounding pharmecy that is now doing Skrell’s meds for $1 per pill. Skrell’s income just got a major hit!
choicelady

KT and kes – yup. Don’t mess with the choicelady. She’ll cut off your hot soup!
choicelady

Couldn’t have happened to a bigger bastard, c’lady. Homelessness is too good for that guy.
kesmarn

I saw that CL. I laughed out loud. That scumbag deserves to be run out of business.
KillgoreTrout

kes – I LOVE that the compounding pharmacy is undermining him!
choicelady

Sometimes there actually is justice in the universe.
kesmarn

Talk about predatory.
KillgoreTrout

kes – I think there always is, it just is sometimes hard to find. But when you do…golden!
choicelady

KT – that man is disgusting, yes, so this is wonderful because it’s unassailable – it’s “private enterprise” that he cannot squawk about!
choicelady

Now — if we can just get some karma for the guy who shot Cecil the lion…
kesmarn

kes – oh, indeed. That still makes me sick to my stomach.
choicelady

And then for Trey Gowdy…
kesmarn

Capitalsm can be a bitch sometimes…hahahaha!
KillgoreTrout

Not to mention Dick Cheney…
kesmarn

Dubya…
kesmarn

kes – he has to live with himself and all of yesterday’s photos of his oil slick face. Punishment has started!
choicelady

Everytime I see Gowdy’s picture, I just want to slap him. Repeatedly.
KillgoreTrout

kes – well Cheney and W cannot leave the nation. They can be arrested in other nations and taken to the ICC.
choicelady

And that Martha Roby woman! Hahaha…her karma was almost instant. Mocking laughter.
kesmarn

KT – yup. My sentiments exactly.
choicelady

kes – LOL indeed!
choicelady

Gowdy really looks reptilian
kesmarn

kes -someone likened him to Malfoy from Sltherin, but I think he’s worse.
choicelady

I think when he was born, the doctor went a little too heavy on the forceps.
KillgoreTrout

KT – he DOES always look as if his face got caught in an elevator door. I think you just figured out why.
choicelady

I’m one of the few people who haven’t seen the movies, but I definitely get the Malfoy picture.
kesmarn

Either that, or his parents were brother and sister.
KillgoreTrout

kes – the books are better, but the films were beautifully cast.
choicelady

And then there’s the banjo player from “Deliverance”..
kesmarn

KT – well he IS from TN.,,
choicelady

kes – yup. He kind of fits all these categories.
choicelady

kes, I had the same thought when I first saw him.
KillgoreTrout

They really do look like they could be related (on some way that we don’t want to think too hard about).
kesmarn

People can say what they will about Hillary, but she just made Gowdy Doody.
KillgoreTrout

Then there was the brillo-headed woman from IN. Brooks? Hillary is still scraping her off of her shoe.
kesmarn

LOL!
KillgoreTrout

KT – she did brilliantly. There’s nothing left to ask. Brillo head was so off base.
choicelady

She was so annoying. Especially (I’m so superficial) her accent. (“Pie-yulls” of “pay-per”)
kesmarn

I heard that Hillary recieved a ton of donations, just one hour after the hearing ended. Dumb ass teabillies.
KillgoreTrout

kes – did they intentionally pick GOP members with personal idiosyncracies that capture more attention that what was said?
choicelady

KT – over $3million, yes.
choicelady

They couldn’t have done more for Hillary if Sid Blumenthal had paid them.
kesmarn

Wow, that is a ton.
KillgoreTrout

kes – someone called it an 11-hour HRC for President ad.
choicelady

So true homie.
KillgoreTrout

That sounds about right, cl.
KillgoreTrout

c’lady, I do believe they chose irritating people deliberately. Their goal was to make her lose her temper.
kesmarn

kes – they wanted another ‘what difference does it make’ sound bite. I heard what she said: “what difference does it make what we said then”. But this time she gave them NOTHING.
choicelady

What they didn’t consider, is that Hillary eats scandals for breakfast. They only make her stronger!
KillgoreTrout

Oh wow… almost midnight here. I guess I’d better sign off, kids. It was great to “see” you again. Have a great weekend!
kesmarn

KT – since they have been after her since January 1993, yeah. She’s already baptized by fire.
choicelady

Hard as steel, cl.
KillgoreTrout

Good night dear kes – I am SO glad to see you after these many months. Let’s not let it go so long? Be well!
choicelady

(Wish I could Fed Ex some soup to your colony, c’lady!
kesmarn

kes – I will make some with your name on it!
choicelady

Night Homie. I too am going to sign off. Night cl. You are a real mensch!
KillgoreTrout

That sounds great!
kesmarn

KT – thank you! I try. Good night to you both. Beatlex – what say you? Shall we stay or go?
choicelady

Beatlex – I’ll hang in for another 5 minutes, but then I’ll close ‘er down. Good talk and congrats on Trudeau!
choicelady

Well good talk, lots of laughs as always. Have a great weekend everyone. See you next week!
choicelady
