It’s Friday and here we gather again, Planeteers all, for our weekly chat about the latest world’s events. As usual, our chat begins at 7:00pm PST, see you then!
adlib 7 days ago
Hey Ad! Good to see the Planet spinning along nicely!
killgoretrout

Hey KT! Just popped away for a moment. What up?!
adlib 7 days ago
Not much. Good to be back home. If’s a relief to back in my own space.
killgoretrout

How about you?
killgoretrout

Hey KT!
adlib 7 days ago
Glad to have you back! All well my way, thanks!
adlib 7 days ago
For some reason, I can’t scroll down.
killgoretrout

Evening Ad, evening KT
sillylittleme

Hey slm. How have you been?
killgoretrout

Evenin’ slm! How’s all by you?
adlib 7 days ago
Well and you? Funny article by the way. The MSM is losing it completely.
sillylittleme

Hey KT, how’s life on the other coast?
sillylittleme

They’ve had a pretty tenuous grip on things to begin with.
killgoretrout

I’m in the Rust Belt SLM. OH and a 10.
killgoretrout

Thanks slm! I have a free speech article coming next week as well but this week, it was the MSM spectacle of chest pounding that took the spotlight.
adlib 7 days ago
kt as far as I’m concerned that is the other coast…
sillylittleme

Can’t have a coast without an ocean! wink
killgoretrout

kt – what about the lakes? they’re pretty big…
sillylittleme

This is the dictionary definition of yellow journalism and making up news stories out of thin air. The French weren’t upset, the US media had no right to be.
adlib 7 days ago
Ad – they need to distract from not reporting anything
sillylittleme

No big lakes in central Ohio. Our press is just an embarrassment. Ever since they’ve turned politics into a spectator sport, we’ve been an international joke.
killgoretrout

Hey slm, how about those Patriots, huh?
killgoretrout

ok kt – how’s it back in the middle of nowhere wink
sillylittleme

Now, now slm.
killgoretrout

KT – I think we’re gonna be having a Super Bowl parade in a couple of weeks…
sillylittleme

slm – I think they have more of a need to pound on Obama because the corporations that own the media want the Repubs to succeed with all their tax cutting and RW agenda. The weaker Obama is, the better their chances, they’ve got to be thinking.
adlib 7 days ago
Ad – They aren’t thinking about anything other than the zeros in their bank account…
sillylittleme

The Colts will not be an easy win. I do think Brady and crew can pull off a win, but it’s going to be a great game. Did you see last week’s game against Baltimore? A fantastic game. A real nail biter!
killgoretrout

slm – That’s what I’m thinking.
adlib 7 days ago
KT – I was all tingly until the very end, I barely breathed the entire game. The Colts won’t be the problem that the Seahawks will be. I’m rooting for the Cheeseheads, even though they’ll probably lose.
sillylittleme

Hang in there KT, a couple weeks to go.
adlib 7 days ago
I think Green Bay beat the Pats earlier in the season, didn’t they?
killgoretrout

Ad, I gotta cheer the Pats on. I don’t really like either of Ohio’s teams. Never really did.
killgoretrout

KT – end of Nov, time for a rematch
sillylittleme

Hey Glenn – what’s shaking?
sillylittleme

I’ve been leaning towards rooting for the Packers.
adlib 7 days ago
The trouble is, I also like Seattle. Great team, and city! Que pasa glenn, nice to “see” you.
killgoretrout

I love Seattle, the city and the team. Still want to see Aaron Rodgers win and we get to play them in AZ
sillylittleme

Evening all. Was just trying to catch up on the conversation. Go Packers! I LOVE the Packers–the biggest team from the smallest town.
glenn

Hey KT–good to see you too.
glenn

I’m still cheering the most for the Pats. Great team! Great coach!
killgoretrout

KT – for the ultimate prize, no doubt!!
sillylittleme

Brady deserves another ring and so does Bill, all the coaches and the players
sillylittleme

SLM–Having a “warming” trend here–up to 51 today and finally some sun!
glenn

Seattle was always a kind of rival for the CA teams so I lean against them a little but I may change my mind.
adlib 7 days ago
I’ve been a bit of a gypsy, for most of my adult life, but I have a special place in my heart for Boston and the Cape.
killgoretrout

Glenn – nice in the 30s but the temp dropped over 30 degrees already…
sillylittleme

They’re a great team Ad!
killgoretrout

Ad–think of Seattle as a “left” coast team with the emphasis on “left”.
glenn

Evening Murph
sillylittleme

People have always talked about hoe liberal Mass is, but I’m not so sure anymore. I know Washington is liberal. At least the western part of the state.
killgoretrout

So, how about this backlash against the government leaders who did march in Paris as being hypocrites?
adlib 7 days ago
KT – the new guv is already busy dismantling regulatory agencies, he may have to be run out on a rail…
sillylittleme

I think some of those leaders are hypocrites. They have their share of stifling free expression.
killgoretrout

Ad – well they are for the most part and they didn’t really march, did they?
sillylittleme

Ad–certainly some of them are.
glenn

Hello all.
murphthesurf3

SLM, I was really bothered when he won.
killgoretrout

Hey Murph! How’s it going?
glenn

SLM and KT–are you talking about the new MA guv?
glenn

What’s happening Murph? Liked your summary of the Oscars noms.
killgoretrout

KT – Baker the faker will hopefully get push back from the legislature
sillylittleme

They are blatant hypocrites and the point I made and Murph (Hey Murph!) made was that participating in that photo op was meaningless but our corporate media saw it in their interest to fabricate an outrage.
adlib 7 days ago
Glenn – yup
sillylittleme

Pomp and circumstance Ad! That’s all it was.
killgoretrout

Hi KT….thank you for the kudo! l do love film. Saw Imitation Game again today- such a fine film.
murphthesurf3

KT – mostly circumstance and they mistake pomp for pompoms
sillylittleme

KT – More like throwing black Christians to the lions.
adlib 7 days ago
It irritates me to no end when some try to compare the Hebdo attacks to the events of 9/11. In my opinion, they were not at all the same.
killgoretrout

Nice to know that the US Ambassador to anywhere isn’t big enough for the RWNJs. Funny how they all crave an Ambassadorship when they are offered.
pinkpantheroz

Hi Ad….I have found the puzzled response of the Europeans to our media most amusing. The No Go Zones stuff has bitten Fox in the butt there, but here it is full speed ahead.
murphthesurf3

Hey Pink, great point
sillylittleme

Hey Pink! Good to see ya!
killgoretrout

Hi PInk.
murphthesurf3

Hi, SLM, KT, Ad, glenn, et al.
pinkpantheroz

Murph–I watched that French show that tore fox apart. Very funny! Also loved how the British PM called one of the foxes an “idiot”. I think that’s what he called him anyway.
glenn

Glenn…spot on on both accounts.
murphthesurf3

Link to that show, please. haven’t seen anything Down Under about it
pinkpantheroz

Hi PPO–oh well. rwnj will never be happy no matter what the President does.
glenn

My first instinct when I woke up to find the US media crucifying Obama for not going was to think, “I’ll bet the French aren’t whining about it.” Keeping expectations low when it comes to the MSM keeps you close to the truth.
adlib 7 days ago
I think it was some idiot in the GOP House that said the reason Obama didn’t go to France was because he wanted to watch football. Nice euphemism for “playing golf.” What an ass.
killgoretrout

Hey PPO!
adlib 7 days ago
Ad – so true
sillylittleme

The president is still playing chess when these GOPers are still playing checkers.
killgoretrout

Hey, Ad. Read in a comment yesterday that one of us had researched european response to POTUS’ absence and found …………………………………………….ZIP!
pinkpantheroz

KT – if they have an R after their name, they are all asses.
sillylittleme

No argument here slm!
killgoretrout

BRB
pinkpantheroz

PPO – Adds fuel to the fire…that the MSM should be thrown onto.
adlib 7 days ago
Is that Blue Ribbon Beer?
killgoretrout

kt – be right back
sillylittleme

Ad–I saw an article, but I can’t find it again, that says the French weren’t at all bothered that PBO didn’t appear. Of course the foxes would get outraged about, but we all know that they would have been equally outraged had he gone. PBO did miss his chance to link arms with Putin, which just would have given the rwnj more to be outraged over.
glenn

Ad – I’ve got lots of matches and lighters
sillylittleme

I know slm, I was just being silly. BRB happens to be my beverage of choice this evening. Maybe a taste of Johnny Walker in a bit.
killgoretrout

glenn – it may yet make their heads explode, if he finally both embraces and gives the finger to Putin at the same time
sillylittleme

So, it is now a proven constant, the MSM is a fraud.
adlib 7 days ago
The GOPers were praising Putin, not too long ago, as I recall. They said he was a strong leader and Obama should BE MORE LIKE HIM! What a bunch of fucking traitors.
killgoretrout

KT – The MSM was also delighting in portraying Putin as strong and Obama as weak.
adlib 7 days ago
KT–And ms. lindsey graham has said he would follow the leader of Israel (can’t spell his name) rather than the President of the United States. But s/he (graham) is a “patriot”, dontcha know.
glenn

More like a Zionist, glenn.!
killgoretrout

Well, you know who tells the MSM what is what.
killgoretrout

glenn – Bibi is an ass
sillylittleme

As a follower, Graham gives a bad name to lemmings.
adlib 7 days ago
glenn I believe that’s spelled Net an Yahoo!
killgoretrout

kt – nice!!
sillylittleme

KT–whatever s/he is, it’s not a patriot! Nor is it American! However, nowadays, the right wingers fall all over themselves to see who can be a “better American” by who can say the most treasonous things about the POTUS!
glenn

glenn – you got that right!!
sillylittleme

SLM–now there you go. I should’ve just used “bibi”. Thanks.
glenn

glenn, that is a sad, sad truth. They are so ass backwards when it comes to patriotism.
killgoretrout

The last vestige of a scoundrel!
killgoretrout

If this is any inidactor, the MSM will be rallying behind the Repubs on all their toxic policies and attacking Obama for blocking them.
adlib 7 days ago
Ad – the scripts are already written
sillylittleme

It will be interesting to see if they can overide Obama’s veto of the Keystone pipeline.
killgoretrout

slm – Indeed and they’re ready to improv on any event to call out Obama for being bad or wrong.
adlib 7 days ago
=p-[;iugrfeqaERTIP;’\
adlib 7 days ago

adlib 7 days ago
Hello Planeteers!
sabreen60

Hey Sabreen
sillylittleme

Hey y’all. After the very sad tragedy that happened in France (Je Suiss Charlie) I find the GOP reaction to be both predictable and cold-hearted, using it to gin up more hatred towards Obama,
jjgravitas

Ad – cat on the keyboard?
sillylittleme

Hey, Sabreen the Queen is in the house! Hey lady! How have you been?
killgoretrout

Hey JJ
sillylittleme

Hey me.
jjgravitas

Ad–I really wish someone would come up with a network that actually does news. For example, when a rwnj makes a statement about ANYTHING, this network would state the facts. No name calling, no calling on other politicians to double down on what the original liar said, just report on the news. No analysis, just straight out news. How I miss that MSM!
glenn

And jj! What’s up old friend?
killgoretrout

That’s what I think of the MSM! And you can quote me!
adlib 7 days ago
Glenn…my favorite network is now Al Jazeera
murphthesurf3

Hey Trout
jjgravitas

glenn – do you get al jazeera?
sillylittleme

Hi Sabreen, Hi JJ
glenn

Hey JJ!
adlib 7 days ago
murph – you beat me to it!!
sillylittleme

Hi Sabreen!
adlib 7 days ago
Hey Ad, hey Glenn
jjgravitas

Murph and SLM–yes I get Al Jazeera, just keep forgetting to watch it. Actually, I don’t watch much tv; I spend a lot of time on my computer, though.
glenn

glenn – Have to agree that Al Jazeera comes the closest to that.
adlib 7 days ago
KT et al – Doing ok. Waiting to have a test done that’s making me a little anixous – breast biposy. But otherwise I’m ok.
sabreen60

glenn – then bbc’s website is recommended
sillylittleme

Stay positive, Sabreen.
adlib 7 days ago
Any thoughts from anyone on SCOTUS taking up gay marriage?
murphthesurf3

Sabreen, I sure hope nothing bad is found.
killgoretrout

Best wishes, Sabren.
jjgravitas

Sabreen – sending positive vibes
sillylittleme

SLM–thanks, I’ll go there more often.
glenn

Best to you, Salut, Sabreen.
murphthesurf3

Murph, what do mean by taking up?
killgoretrout

Sabreen–echoing SLM’s positive vibes.
glenn

You mean on a certain case in a certain state?
killgoretrout

Thanks all.
sabreen60

BRB
glenn

KT…they have agreed to here a case that challenges the right in a state where a court has secured it. This would overturn all such findings. 12 I think.
murphthesurf3

Hi all – but Sabreen – I came in just to see what looks like worrisome things. You are SO in my heart!
choicelady

Murph – are they going to take on state’s rights? or are they gonna make it a civil rights issue
sillylittleme

Hey Choice
sillylittleme

SLM…the case rests on whether there is a right to be married for all.
murphthesurf3

Murph – It’s just going to be a period at the end of a sentence that they’ve already written. Two jerks Bush put in the appeals courts refused to find prejudice against gays as unconstitutional. The SCOTUS assumed this was settled but never underestimate anything that has a Bush fingerprint on it.
adlib 7 days ago
Hey SLM!
choicelady

Hey CL!
adlib 7 days ago
Hey AdLib – did you get the email to our allies about HOPE? Take a peek if you’ve not seen it.
choicelady

Ad/Murph – how do you think they will rule?
sillylittleme

Ad….don’t know what you mean…you think the SCOTUS will rule how?
murphthesurf3

I can’t say I have much faith in our SC these days. The arguments against same sex marriage are bogus, do to the first amendment. The arguments against a religion based. Pure and simple.
killgoretrout

Are religion based…..
killgoretrout

CL – Yes, I was so slammed this week, sorry about the delay in responding, sounds very good. So a conference call could be set up?
adlib 7 days ago
Unfortunado, if SCOTUS rules against the GOP’s wishes, the GOP will ignore them calling SCOTUS big government or something similar.
jjgravitas

Speaking of the SCOTUS, Think Progress had a really good article on Rand Paul and the Court.

http://thinkprogress.org/justice/2015/01/16/3611729/if-you-want-to-understand-whats-happened-to-the-supreme-court-you-need-to-listen-to-rand-paul/
If You Want To Understand What’s Happened To The Supreme Court, You Need To Listen To Rand Paul
Rand Paul may be the herald of a new age of judicial activism.

sabreen60

Murph and KT – I cannot see, in light of past rulings and Loving, the case on inter-racial marraige, how they can leave it to the states.
choicelady

Choice – I hope you’re right
sillylittleme

AdLib – I’m going to work on it come Tuesday or Wed. Otherwise – take our friend to lunch!
choicelady

Hey cl. Good to see you. I agree completely. I don’t know if our ultra religious bunch in the SC will see it that way.
killgoretrout

Hi CL. Bless your heart. I guess this is my first test of the year.
sabreen60

Since when has Rand Paul been involved with the Judicial System, except as a defendant?
jjgravitas

KT – SCOTUS has been very good on this issue. Can’t think why they’d change now.
choicelady

BIAS (back in a second)
killgoretrout

Well Sabreen – pass it with flying colors! That’s scary icky stuff. All thoughts, prayers, energies to you!
choicelady

jj You have to read the article. It’s where Rand would like the SCOTUS to be – like 1905.
sabreen60

Sabreen – I will read it, but why does 1905 just FEEL like Rand’s year? Jim Crow, lynchings, anti-labor – all fits neatly in his persona.
choicelady

I’ll check it out.
jjgravitas

slm – I think it’s a foregone conclusion that a majority will rule against the appeals court and find governmental prejudice unconstitutional.
adlib 7 days ago
Hi jj – nice to ‘see’ you!
choicelady

Heyl Lady.
jjgravitas

AdLib – that’s consistent with what they’ve already done.
choicelady

CL – That’s about right. No labor laws including child labor laws.
sabreen60

Sabreen – Will read that article, thanks!
adlib 7 days ago
Sabreen – oh! I forgot about the workhouses! Righhht…
choicelady

CL – I’m ready and available to have that lunch!
adlib 7 days ago
AdLib – I’ll keep you posted. We get a conference call, you’re off the hook. We don’t? Take our friend to Mama’s!
choicelady

Enough about these minor points like Freedom of the Press, World Peace, Global Warming SCOTUS. The mmost important thing is…Who is going to make the Superbowl!
pinkpantheroz

Taking them to Mama’s is a win-win!
adlib 7 days ago
AdLib – I’d come down there, but things up here for me just got interesting…I’m slammed for awhile.
choicelady

PPO – we can always count on you for the important issues!
choicelady

Pink – the Pats and Green Bay, I want to see a rematch. The Pats lost in Nov
sillylittleme

The New England Patriots! I’m not so sure about their opponent.
killgoretrout

CL – We need to catch up, anxiuous to hear what’s up!
adlib 7 days ago
With you on that, SLM
pinkpantheroz

Anyone – who is IN the Superbowl. Sorry – I don’t pay attention.
choicelady

AdLib – will do that. You free this weekend for a call?
choicelady

CL, a few teams are slugging it out tomorrow to see who gets there
pinkpantheroz

This is a summary by Charlie Pierce re SCOTUS.
sabreen60

Oh Yeh, the superbowl hasnt happened yet. Sorry, I dont pay attention
jjgravitas

PPO – you’re in Australia and know more than I do. I am impressed!
choicelady

Oops. Link –

Rand Paul Thinks People Have Too Much Say In How They’re Governed: The Land That Aqua Buddha Made
If you read only one fairly long read before the long weekend, make it Ian Millhiser’s essential account of a speech given by brogressive hero Rand Paul this week to a rapt audience of prime conservative meatheads at the Heritage Foundation in Washin…

sabreen60

Hi CL–just got back. Good to “see” you.
glenn

Hi glenn – great to ‘see’ you, too. How is live in your neck of the woods?
choicelady

CL, don’cha know were the 51st State? All we get on MSM is Us shows! ( Thank goodness, Aussie stuff is shite!)
pinkpantheroz

glenn – that’s LIFE. Sigh.
choicelady

POP – LOL!!!
choicelady

CL–same old, same old. At least the sun was out today, finally!
glenn

Sorry – PPO LOL! I went out to dinner. I don’t think I can type anymore…
choicelady

Paul thinks that 50% of those on SSDI are samming the system. Despite a thorough study last year that found less than 3% are actually fradulant.
killgoretrout

What a POS.
killgoretrout

glenn – it’s finally raining again. We are ahead of normal, but when we don’t get rain now, it’s deeply worrisome.
choicelady

Paul is the one scamming the system…
choicelady

Can anybody tell me why the GOP still thinks this “back to the future” stuff is what the people want? Or do they really care what anybody wants?
jjgravitas

Exactly CL. And most of his peers.
killgoretrout

JJ – only their puppet masters
sillylittleme

KT, our GOPer ‘Liberal” party is making the same noises here about Disability payments. Same all over for them, isn’t it?
pinkpantheroz

jj – I call the GOP policy “Forward to the Past”. They want it to be the 1890s.
choicelady

PPO, it’s the old “bootstrap mentality.” A bogus one if there ever was.
killgoretrout

JJ–that’s the point. The gop doesn’t care what “anybody” wants–translate that to most of the US. They only care about their extremists, for some reason.
glenn

Cl, YES, Start transporting all the convicts….., Oh, hang on!
pinkpantheroz

CL – Tomorrow afternoon? Morning is nuts.
adlib 7 days ago
PPO and everyone – has anyone known anybody who went through application for disability? It’s HORRIBLE. Very few get approved.
choicelady

PPO – VERY funny!
choicelady

CL – so it’s either Christopher Lloyd or Firesign Theatre?
jjgravitas

Tomorrow afternoon should be fine, AdLib – if I miss it, unavoidable hell arose.
choicelady

jj – either way. Yes.
choicelady

Sabreen – I think this is SOP for the GOP, people shouldn’t interfere with what the elite want to do with the country.
adlib 7 days ago
CL, I did and you are absolutely right. It took almost a year when I was in dire straights. It my brother-in-law nearly 4 years. The GOPers think that the government just hands those benefits to anybody who applies. Far, far from it.
killgoretrout

Ugh. worried
jjgravitas

Still here just reading along…long week….cold weather, frozen pipes…..
murphthesurf3

Got it, CL!
adlib 7 days ago
KT – there you have it. It’s very difficult to get on disability.
choicelady

KT–speaking of the “bootstrap” mentality, what do you think of the mittster’s throwing his hat into the presidential ring for the third time?
glenn

Murph dear – so sorry about your PIPES! Had that happen in NY once – not fun.
choicelady

glenn, it’s just an excuse to raise money to transfer into the REAL candidates coffers.
pinkpantheroz

glenn, I think it’s pure speculation. He’d be a fool to try again. He won’t even win a primary now.
killgoretrout

glenn – my take on Mitt is: “once, twice, three times a loser” with apologies to Kenny…
choicelady

Glenn – the dent in his head from banging it against the wall isn’t big enough yet
sillylittleme

PPO – I was on disability for a year. My short term disability ran out from my job. The only reason I was able to get it was because of my attorny. But it is a horrible process and I doubt anyone who’s on it wants to be. The money is awful and I went back to work as soon as I was able.
sabreen60

SLM – LOL!!
choicelady

Sabreen – best I’ve heard is it’s around $800 a month with NO food stamps. When I was in college, it was $700, and you can see how disgustingly little it’s advanced.
choicelady

SLM– dizzy_face Here is mitt after banging his head on the wall.
glenn

Sabreen, same here, but I never recovered enough to get back to work, then the Gummint stopped it at age 65 and put me on Seniors pension – not as much
pinkpantheroz

glenn – if ONLY!!!
choicelady

glenn – smiling_imp
sillylittleme

Romney’s still known as the guy who hates most of the country because they’re not rich like him. That’s just one of the stikes against him.
jjgravitas

Sabreen, I constantly worry that my benefits will be shut off, or severely cut. They may be come 2016 because a failure to provide renewal from the original SS fund was included in the recent budget deal.
killgoretrout

PPO – seniors’ pension is LESS than disability???
choicelady

KT – that cut in SSI will be vetoed by Obama. He already said so.
choicelady

Cl, Yup, in this neck of the woods. It has gotten closer.
pinkpantheroz

Mitt is going to run as The New New Coke. A new version of something the public didn’t want the first time.
adlib 7 days ago
PPO – yikes!
choicelady

I’m on disability for good reasons, like most everybody else. Going to work everyday would be a real physical and emotional challenge for me.
killgoretrout

AdLib – THAT is too funny!
choicelady

Thanks CL!
adlib 7 days ago
Spot on, Ad!
pinkpantheroz

Good pon POTUS Obama, he’s my man! wink
jjgravitas

KT – after the life you’ve had, as a vet, you freaking well earned it.
choicelady

Too funny Ad. Mitt is Coke Black.
killgoretrout

Mitt’s going to run as Gigli – The Sequel.
adlib 7 days ago
PPO – A friend was on disability for a few years. She also received long-term disability from her former job. But when she turned 65 the long-term disability stopped and the disability changed to plain Social Security.
sabreen60

Ad–it has to be the new milk; you know the almond kind, since he’s such a nut job! The mormon mittster doesn’t drink coke!
glenn

back in a few
pinkpantheroz

Mitt’s going to run as the new Jar Jar Binx!
adlib 7 days ago
Ad – LOL!!!
sillylittleme

glenn – oh, wow – that’s right. No coca cola for the pure one.
choicelady

CL, I worked for over 30 years. Starting at age 14.
killgoretrout

glenn – Heh! Very funny!
adlib 7 days ago
KT – me, too though I also started babysitting at 11. I am still freaking working.
choicelady

Mitt’s going to run as a free U2 CD that the public is forced to listen to.
adlib 7 days ago
KT – Whoa. I sure hope that doesn’t happen. I assume you are younger than 65?
sabreen60

How many years has Rand (Aqua Buddha) worked? Actually worked?
killgoretrout

KT – well, he’s an opthomologist so some years, yes. He’s not a GOOD doctor – had to be ‘board certified’ by creating a phony board that certifies him. But he HAS worked.
choicelady

Sabreen – So did your friend get less money from SS than from disability?
adlib 7 days ago
Sabreen, I am 60. I’m working on a novel, but that is no guarantee of financial success.
killgoretrout

KT – you have to let us know when the novel is out!
choicelady

KT–aqua buddha’s reponse: what is this 4-letter word “work” of which you speak? I am a congressman; I don’t “work” like “normal” people.
glenn

Did anyone see PBO’s response at the Presser when Jon Karl asked him what he thought about Mitt running again? He gave him that smile and said no comment. And PM Cameron laughted.
sabreen60

glenn – yup. That sounds like Rand.
choicelady

CL i will, but it may be a year from now.
killgoretrout

KT – you’re worth waiting for dear heart!
choicelady

KT–definitely echoing CL’s request to let us know when your novel comes out!
glenn

Sabreen – Obama should have said he has two words of advice for Romney: “Please proceed.”
adlib 7 days ago
Taking care of mom most of this last year set my writing back quite a bit.
killgoretrout

AdLib – that was my thought: please proceed, Mr. Romney.
choicelady

Thank you so much CL and glenn!
killgoretrout

KT–speaking of that, how is your mom doing?
glenn

Sabreen, That sounds like something PBO would do. We haven’t had anyone that cool in the WH for a long time, if ever. laughing
jjgravitas

jj – indeed. That is a very funny but very measured president. He knows when to be subdued. Make it all funnier.
choicelady

She’s doing as well as can be expected. My brother and I have arranged some assistence for her. The lady who will be caring for her is actually an old friend of hers that works for a senior care center. Mom’s a tough old bird!
killgoretrout

JJ–I was a teenager when Kennedy was in the WH. I thought he was the coolest! However, I like PBO much better because he doesn’t cheat on his wife, like Kennedy is rumored to have done.
glenn

KT – that is very good news about your mom.
choicelady

She got the same amount of the disabilty. But she no longer got the long-term disability. I think what happened is that because she hadn’t worked for several years, no additional money was paid into Social Security. In other words, no increase in Social Security amount. Increases stopped when she stopped working.
sabreen60

CL, I had to come back to Ohio to take care of some very necessary business. I feel a little guilty, not being there now. But, such is life.
killgoretrout

jj – I was also a teen with JFK. I also think PBO is much, much better. And yes, I think the rumors are true. But during Watergate when that came out, I stand with Shirley McLaine who said, “I’d rather have a president who is doing it to a woman than one who is doing it to the country.”
choicelady

AdLib – smiley
sabreen60

Sabreen–it’s a “catch 22”, isn’t it? Even if you’re receiving disability from your employer, it doesn’t count for your SS. Hope your friend is doing okay.
glenn

Love old Shirley! Always have.
killgoretrout

Choice – I agree with Shirley
sillylittleme

SLM – yup. I’m with Shirley!
choicelady

Meanwhile, Obama is helping millions of immigrants, blocking the Keystone pipeline, rallying for free community college, protecting the ACA from attacks (except froim the SCOTUS), he is fighting for a lot of great things while the Repubs like Rand Paul try to push for more pollution, millions losing health care, corporations ripping off most Americans. This is all going to turn on them and elevate Obama very swiftly.
adlib 7 days ago
I don’t Monica put up much of a struggle.
killgoretrout

KT–good to hear your mom is getting assistance. I don’t know what my brother and sisters would do about our mom if she wasn’t in an assisted living facility!
glenn

Yeah, Glenn, I think what drives the GOP mad about him is, there are no cracks in his character for them to latch onto. No vices, personality flaws, and he’s smarter than all of them put together. That’s why they can only attack him with lies.
jjgravitas

AdLib – people ask why he didn’t do this before, and that’s because for him the process of democracy is paramount. Now there IS no democracy, only craven partisanship, so he is calling the shots however he can. It’s not about HIS legacy. It’s about OURS.
choicelady

Adlib, excellent point.
jjgravitas

jj – spot on
sillylittleme

jj – fundamental issue: old white men cannot abide a Black man being smarter than they are. But he IS.
choicelady

Adlib, excellent point
jjgravitas

glenn, mom absolutely refuse to leave her home. Now that my dad is gone (12 years ago) it’s the dearest thing in her life that is of a material nature. You couldn’t blast her from that house with a case of dynamite.
killgoretrout

glenn – She lives with her sister so she’s ok. I think about people who are own their own and how in the world do they made it.
sabreen60

JJ–yup how dare a black man be honorable? And smart!
glenn

Too true, CL. confused
jjgravitas

glenn… and honest!
pinkpantheroz

The Audacity of Hope!
killgoretrout

CL – Also he had many of those in the party he leads begging him to hold off until after elections because they feared his acts would hurt their re-election. As a leader, he had to respect their positions but now, he’s free of all that.
adlib 7 days ago
and love his family, especially his wife
sillylittleme

CL–I agree completely! The President is focused on America; the gop is focused on……?
glenn

Glenn, how indeed.
jjgravitas

jj- They have nothing. They have resulted to going after FLOTUS and Beyonce.
sabreen60

glenn – the GOP is focused on their own power and well being. Not ours.
choicelady

That’s one thing that really bothers the shyte out of those family values types. The president is a truly fine family man.
killgoretrout

The Audacity of Making It All Happen.
jjgravitas

KT – he is a great Dad and husband. It makes the ‘family values’ serial adulterers look bad.
choicelady

It drives them crazy. Especially when so many of their ilk have had two or three marriages or affairs.
killgoretrout

It sure does CL. I love it!
killgoretrout

KT – apparently paying lip service to ‘family values’ matters more than living them.
choicelady

KT–it is good that your mom is able to stay in her home. There is lots of help out there now for seniors like your mom, and that’s a good thing.
glenn

Paging Rush Limbaugh.
jjgravitas

Just like the faux Christianity.
killgoretrout

At least many of those Blue Dog Dems who restrained Obama from all the things he could have been doing, are gone now and the Dem caucus is much more Progressive now. The task now is to elect more Progressive Dems in 2016, along with a Dem President (hopefully someone more Progressive can catch fire and beat Hillary) and more good things could get done.
adlib 7 days ago
KT – yup. Faux everything!
choicelady

From your lips, Ad.
pinkpantheroz

Didn’t Rush take a trip to Thailand on a “young boy,” cruise? Oh no I didn’t.
killgoretrout

“Resorted”
sabreen60

AdLib – if ONLY. The Dem representing where my office is voted to kill ACA and end Dodd-Frank. He’s about to get bitch slapped by me.
choicelady

Sabreen–indeed. Beyonce, and JayZ, both of whom actually pulled themselves up by their bootstraps! Both of whom are intelligent, successful people. But, of course, they are black, successful people, so success doesn’t count. And, the absolute gall of the huckster to compare Beyonce with the duggar baby machine. What an asshole!
glenn

glenn – what WOULD you expect from the Huckster?
choicelady

Huckabee is a friggen joke. Isn’t he pals with the upstanding, patriotic, draft dodging Ted Nugent?
killgoretrout

The GOP in Congress are starting to feel abit like George Dubya did just after he was elected Prez: deer in the headlights, whil PBO moves on full steam ahead. sunglasses
jjgravitas

glenn – Huck’s been on stage with Ted Nugent, for goodness sake.
sabreen60

KT – Not only is he pals with Nugent, he stood with him while his band played that disgusting song with sexual imagery, and Huck never said a thing.
choicelady

CL – That;s what I’m talking about, give him one for me!
adlib 7 days ago
CL–is it too much to expect Christian decency from a Christian? Oh, and BTW, I think the Obama girls have two fabulous role models living with them–their mother and their grandmother who raised their fabulous mother!
glenn

AdLib – OK Ami Bera gets TWO, one from you, one from me.
choicelady

glenn – problem is that they are NOT Christians. They are, at best “Old Testamentarians” who love that tribal smiting and violence. They are Dominionists who want to take over the world politically. For them Jesus is the ‘get out of jail free’ card they want to play at death, but live that belief? No WAY.
choicelady

CL, the Obamas not only know more about morality, but live it, than all of the GOPers put together. And the Obamas never prattle on about it. They don’t have to. They live by example.
killgoretrout

Think about the Repub field for 2016 that will take shape this year. Christie, Huckabee, Cruz, Mitt, Bush, Perry, Rand…heh…can’t stop laughing already!!!
adlib 7 days ago
KT–the huckster is probably in talks with the shitter right now to be his vp!
glenn

KT – living by example is why the RW phonies HATE the Obamas.
choicelady

Cl, doesn’t that sound very like other fundamentalists we’re currently fighting? Scary, isn’t it?
pinkpantheroz

Old “poopy pants!”
killgoretrout

In so many ways Obama IS the kind of black man that the right claims they admire.
murphthesurf3

Exactly CL. What they find to be extremely difficult, if not impossible, the president and his family do it with seeming ease.
killgoretrout

CL – And I’m on Bera’s email list, was one of the most prolific beggers for cash (he got none from me). And he barely eked out a win! He better know he’s on the edge of a very steep cliff.
adlib 7 days ago
PPO – there are very pointed reports that Tim McVeigh met with Al Q’aeda people prior to OK City. No one can prove it, but there is some evidence. Birds of a feather…
choicelady

AdLib – I did not want Doug Ose, the GOP candidate, but Bera is a coward and a hypocrite.
choicelady

Pink, The GOP and the Islamic Extremists are two sides of the exact same coin.
jjgravitas

Well good Planet peeps. I must say good evening (or morning). Peace and happiness to all!
killgoretrout

CL–agreed. I really hate the way the gop has distorted so much of our language–by calling themselves Christians and doing everything a Christian shouldn’t do. By calling themselves patriots because they bash the President of the United States constantly. By calling themselves Americans and belittling over half of the American population! UGH!
glenn

Murph – Yes, Obama IS the kind of person the Right pretends they want. They just want him “in his place” not the White House.
choicelady

Well, the inmates are now in charge of the Nuthouse, so it’s going to be ‘interesting” to see what a bigger mess they make now
pinkpantheroz

I understand that Mitt gave a speech tonight on an old aircraft carrier. laughing
sabreen60

Good night, KT – stay warm and enjoy being back in your own home. See you soon I hope!
choicelady

Night KT
sillylittleme

Murph–I agree. I’ve said that many times about President Obama. I just don’t understand why the right hates him so much. After all, they love carson and west.
glenn

Good night KT. Take care of yourself.
sabreen60

Sabreen – Mitt on an aircraft carrier? The draft dodger is in his hype mode again and not even fully declared????
choicelady

Stay warm and safe, KT
pinkpantheroz

Whaterver happens, it’s a very good time to be rich. Wish I was. cry
jjgravitas

Don’t we all, JJ, dont we all.
pinkpantheroz

jj = wish you were comfortable. I’d not wish you be rich because it’s a serious burden and puts you into lousy company!
choicelady

KT–Peace and happiness to you, too. G’nght!
glenn

Nite KT
murphthesurf3

So who will bring the crazy more than the others? Huckabee will be positioned to grab all the loony right social issues, Cruz wil grab some of that and loony right economic issues, Rand Paul will grab a little of both and loony libertarianism, Perry will try counting to three unsuccessfully again, Rubio will thrash around for a small bottle of water and pound the anti-Cuba drum…it will be like a talent show sponsored by Arkham Asylum.
adlib 7 days ago
Night KT!
adlib 7 days ago
Murph – That’s what they say. Their actions speak louder than their words.
sabreen60

Ad–great analysis! LOL
glenn

Sabreen, what actions????????????
pinkpantheroz

AdLib – I hear that the mainstream GOP want none of Mitt, Jeb, or Chris. They can see the problems already.
choicelady

Thanks, CL, good points.
jjgravitas

jj – go for ‘sustainable self sufficiency’. It gives you freedom AND the right to associate with GOOD people!
choicelady

PPO – Their hatred for PBO, Holder or any other black person, regardless of how they live their lives.
sabreen60

I should think so, CL, they are disasters begging to happen.
jjgravitas

Choice then who do the mainstream have?
murphthesurf3

Ad – nice Gotham reference. Such a well written show
sillylittleme

I’m trying for that, CL, thanks.
jjgravitas

CL – Mitt is such a liar and a phony. I doubt if he even sees the irony.
sabreen60

Murph – no one as far as I can tell. They only have whom they do NOT want. No one they DO.
choicelady

Oh, that, Sabreen. Gottit. they’re unable to comprehend that he could be an utter Gentleman in the truest meaning of the word. Contrast it with their ethos.
pinkpantheroz

Choice, but they are moving to so control the primary season that they get the Party Pick. 1/3 of their debates n Fox.
murphthesurf3

CL – They won’t have a choice, lady. Mitt looks to be in, making ane even more spectacularly bad miscalculation than his 2012 campaign, Jebby was in all along (I said it here that Babs saying the country didn’t need another Bush as President was a manipulation to make it look like he wasn’t running and Christie’s ego is bigger than his appetite, he craves the national spotlight and even though he doesn’t have a prayer,I think he’ll run.
adlib 7 days ago
Thanks slm. And I do like the show too!
adlib 7 days ago
AdLib – nothing could make me happier than mud wrestling with Mitt, Jeb, Bush – just so long as no one is wearing Speedos…
choicelady

CL, Please! I just had lunch!
pinkpantheroz

Cl, it would be even more horrific if they WEREN’T wearing Speedos!
pinkpantheroz

CL – And if Mitt, Jeb and Christie…and maybe Scott Walker too are all splitting the establishment vote while shredding each other, maybe a Rand Paul or Ted Cruz could pull an upset and sink the GOP in a very big way in Congress as well in 2016.
adlib 7 days ago
PPO – eeeuuuuwwwww!!!
choicelady

mudwrestling … good! stuck_out_tongue
jjgravitas

Ooh Choice, yuck. Bad enough their debating
sillylittleme

Ad–so basically, we have deja vu all over again! Read today that the RNC is holding its convention in July next year.
glenn

CL – Don’t forget about Ben Carson. He said millions want him to run.
sabreen60

glenn – they want the upper paw, so yes. July.
choicelady

Sabreen – CARSON??? This is the guy who equated ISIL with the MINUTEMEN??? I think his support is down to three people who can’t read.
choicelady

CL, PPO–mud wrestling and Speedos! Puh-leeze! I’m going to have nightmares tonight!
glenn

CL – laughing
sabreen60

glenn – Actually, I think it will be very different. Mitt was the only establishment candidate in the race so the crazies may have led here or there but with the estab money behind him, he eventually won. With multiple establishment Repubs in the race, they could have trouble stopping a Ted Cruz or Rand Paul from gaining momentum and winning.
adlib 7 days ago
glenn, Sabren – well what ELSE is it with these guys?
choicelady

glenn – my eyeballs are bleeding. scream
sabreen60

Is the rest of the country picking up on how the GOP triples down on the conservative every couple years. At this point they are almost clinically insane. confused
jjgravitas

Sabreen–LOL sunglasses
glenn

Oh yeah, I forgot about Carson! I so hope he runs!!! He’s the cherry on top of the GOP Nutty Sundae.
adlib 7 days ago
jj – I grew up in a very GOP area as a kid (bad fit for the daughter of Unitarian Dems) where many GOP were not people I could agree with but COULD respect. No more!
choicelady

Ad–do you really think cruz has a chance of winning the nomination?
glenn

jj – almost???
sillylittleme

AdLib – isn’t Carson the nuts?
choicelady

glenn – will he be allowed to run?
sillylittleme

Well, SML, they haven’t been locked up yet, have they? confused
jjgravitas

jj – There is a good chance that the craziest wins the primary this time around, if there are so many establishment Repubs in the race (none of whom inspire any energy in the base).
adlib 7 days ago
SLM – will Carson be blocked because he’s Black? Wow. That’s heavy.
choicelady

SLM
jjgravitas

choice – cuckoo brain surgeon, the ultimate oxymoron!!
sillylittleme

SLM–do you mean will cruz be allowed to run? Isn’t the whole purpose of the primaries to “showcase” all of the “viable” candidates? Why wouldn’t cruz be “allowed” to run?
glenn

AdLib – the craziest win? Oh PLEASE let that be true!
choicelady

Carson is the same as “999” Herman Cain.
sabreen60

Choice – no Cruz, because he’s a naturalized citizen that just recently disavowed his birth country
sillylittleme

SLM – how can someone be a great neurologist and an insane human being all at the same time? Scary.
choicelady

SLM–good one!
glenn

Sabreen – I think Carson is worse, and that ISIL comment two days ago may have doomed him.
choicelady

Oh, but what about the pig castrating lady who’s giving the rebuttal to the SOTU?
sabreen60

CL – There are many nuts on the GOP sundae but who tops all of them? Carson, so he gets to be the cherry. I mean topping Cruz, Huckabee and Paul…that’s quite a feat!
adlib 7 days ago
Can’t, CL
jjgravitas

Sabreen – I hope Joni the Pig Catrator follows the fate of ALL GOP rebuttals – she makes a damned fool of herself.
choicelady

Sabreen – that may require depends it
sillylittleme

OK AdLib – you have a very good point about the nuts.
choicelady

will be so funny
sillylittleme

Sabreen–oh, I love the pistol-packing, pig castrating lady! She’ll probably be someon’es vp candidate, although he may not want to be in a room alone with her if he pisses her off!
glenn

slm – I read that Carson has a very aggressive form of prostate cancer. I really think he lost his mind after that. I know he’s 7th Day Adventist. I don’t know if he was before the cancer. But he said the lord was the reason he came through the surgery.
sabreen60

CL – Love that Carson has portrayed ISIS as mirrors of The Founders. There is no way out of that rat trap for him but he’s so oblivious, he’ll run for President while caught in his own trap!
adlib 7 days ago
glenn – the Senate leadership gave her pig castrating tools to welcome her in. Anyone who runs with her DOES need to look out!
choicelady

CL thats like how Reagan treated the Afghans in the 1980s
jjgravitas

Sabreen, how laughable. So the Surgery had absolutely nothing to do with it?
pinkpantheroz

Now that Elizabeth Warren has made it quite clear that she won’t be running, what Progressive will run on the Dem side to surprise Hillary again?
adlib 7 days ago
This has ben fun….reading along while vegging out….see you all next week.
murphthesurf3

Sabreen – I LIKE many of the Seventh Day folks I know (they’re very liberal on some points) but he does not fit the norm. I do wonder if the cancer has hit his brain. Seriously do wonder that.
choicelady

G’night Murph

G’night all!

good night, glenn. see you next week
pinkpantheroz

CL – I live close to 7th Day book and health food (kinda) store. There’s only been one incident that I felt was uncalled for and it was directed at me. An East Indian American cashier said something negative to a Latino customer. But usually everyone is nice. They did have a ton of Carson’s books for sale.
sabreen60

Well all – I think I’m pulling out, too. Have to drive an hour round trip to see a homeless guy I like who is in rehab. I bring the essentials – cigs and money. So off I go to gear up for that. Be well everyone – see you next week I hope. \
choicelady

AdLib – around 2 pm tomorrow OK?
choicelady

adlib 7 days ago
Well it’s almost midnight, so I’m going too. Everyone keep the faith!
sabreen60

AdLib – I will shoot for that time!
choicelady

‘Night all! Be well, Sabreen – you’re in my heart.
