A stirring lineup of speakers and 100,000 Americans are currently at the National Mall celebrating and continuing the March On Washington that took place 50 years ago, a gathering of 200,000 people that used the very American power of peaceful demonstration and heard the historic “I Have a Dream” speech by Rev. Martin Luther King Jr.

Three Presidents will be speaking today, Jimmy Carter, Bill Clinton and Barack Obama. Pres. Obama is scheduled to speak around 3:00 pm EDT and is expected to give a very substantive speech.

“While Obama can in no way be held completely responsible for these disparities, the promises he hoped to fulfill during his presidency and its juxtaposition to King’s dream place him between a rock and a hard place.” – Commentary on Obama’s “limited success” from A Black Voices Editorial.

And that Rock is a Senate Minority that has done its best to block the very legislation that would have addressed the concerns in this article. And that Hard Place is a House Majority put into place by the failure of the Obama Wave of 2008 to materialize in 2010 that has sought not only to stop anything he proposes but to actually keep his proposals from even being discussed AND to reverse everything he did in the first two years of his Presidency.

The GOP’s effort from the start has been to delegitimatize Obama’s presidecy, to convert it into an unimportant footnote in history, to label it a fraud…..and THAT has been the battle that he has engaged with real success from the first day of his first term.

Ha Murph. As hard as the GOPTP tries to make president Obama a footnote in history, they will never succeed, because president Obama will always have his place as America’s first black president. That is a huge distinction.

I know what you meant, and I agree, but president Obama will never be just a footnote in American history. Neither will the first woman president.

There hope is to show that he was never president…..not a citizen….OR that he won through cheating…..acorn…OR that he ruled as a dictator….ObamaCare…

It is all ridiculous but they are grasping for straws and gasping for air.

The first woman president- woooo hoooo- Hillary!

It just makes me proud, that despite the hatred we experience, that we can also experience this. Thank God for this little light.

Hey FC, long time no see! I think any steps toward enlightenment, no matter how small or how large, are a tremendous thing. Any one step forward, without two steps backward, is a great thing.

Thanks for this Adlib. I am working in my craft room today so I can listen online no problem. Great idea.

OK I don’t know how the folks that are holding the umbrella can keep from dancing. MSNBC keeps talking over the speakers, I am glad you put up this live stream!
