President Obama delivered a stirring speech this week that was hard for the GOP to swallow, as Marco Rubio proved in his parched rendition of a rebuttal which was just a stream of repeated talking points that poured out of his mouth.

So this week’s music thread is a tribute to the gulp heard round the world. Songs about water, drinking and all things that are all wet…like the GOP.

One Bourbon, One Scotch, One Beer – George Throughgood and the Destroyers

Take Me to the River – Talking Heads

Singing in the Rain – Gene Kelly

Red Rain – Peter Gabriel
