• AdLib : Seeya!

  • SallyT : Love ya! See you later!

  • AdLib : Truer words were never spoken!

  • SallyT : :)

  • SallyT : Let’s hope so! Have a good night and chuckle in your sleep if you need to. Better it is you chuckling than your wife looking under the covers.

  • AdLib : I know! She’s had to endure so much in the last two years living in Japan. Hope this isn’t as bad as it looks.

  • SallyT : Me, too, that was the first thing that came to my mind was Kalima!

  • AdLib : Take care, Sally! Hoping for the best for Kalima and Japan!

  • SallyT : Well, I will let you go. Had a good time with you tonight! Hope to be here Wednesday as that should be fun, too.

  • AdLib : Damn!

  • SallyT : It came across the news on the radio and my hubby came in to tell me.

  • AdLib : Just checked reports, you’re right, it’s looking bad.

  • SallyT : Doesn’t look good for them, AdLib.

  • AdLib : It’s typhoon season for Japan…as if they don’t have enough to deal with. Hope it doesn’t hit them head on!

  • AdLib : Looks like we’re closing the bar again Sally! Thanks so much and thanks for the laughs. Hope to see you on Wed too, the live chat should be a real hoot! Sleep well and have a great weekend!

  • SallyT : Looks like poor Japan is in the path of a typhoon.

  • SallyT : Good night, Patsy! Have a good weekend!

  • AdLib : Night Patsy, great to see you tonight. Hope you can join our live chat for the debate on Wed!

  • PatsyT : Well on that thought … GOTV … !!!! good night kids. Keep up the great work!

  • SallyT : Do you think he has a sperm bank account, too?

  • AdLib : Sally – I think his chuckling response has shorted out into constant response mode. When he is asked just about anything, he chuckles. Hey, that’s what I want Obama to say to him in the debate, “Governor Romney, do you mind if I call you Chuckles the Clown?”

  • SallyT : Well, he usually chuckles when he is lying or not confident….Yes , he chuckles in bed.

  • AdLib : Sally – How do you know she didn’t “outsource” to get her sons?

  • SallyT : She has 5 sons, she said “Come on” sometimes.

  • AdLib : Patsy – Maybe his chuckling is connected to his breathing. If he ever stops chuckling, he suffocates.

  • AdLib : When Romney gets rid of contraception as covered by health care, Ann will instead explain to young women her birth control method, “Just say ‘stop it’.”

  • PatsyT : What happens if he doesn’t chuckle?

  • AdLib : Do you think Mitt chuckles when he’s sleeping?

  • SallyT : Or, should that be Mattel condition since AdLib says Romney is built like a Ken doll…….

  • PatsyT : Mitt lay off the Viagra, stop it

  • SallyT : Romney would answer, “But its a mental condition, Ann!”

  • PatsyT : Sally And AdLib LOL !!!

  • SallyT : Yes, Ann would say Stop it. It’s not hard!

  • PatsyT : Someone will have to explain the magic underwear to me one of these days .. It is a mystery like mystery date Mitt.

  • AdLib : Q: How do you know Mitt Romney has gotten into his bed? A: You hear the phrase, “Stop it.”

  • AdLib : Patsy – In my imagination, Obama would have to be thinking, “I’ve got this election, don’t get overconfident, keep punching as if the fight is tied but I’m going to win this!” ROmney has got to be thinking, “Oh Magic Underwear, if ever I needed you to protect me, now is the time!”

  • PatsyT : Ha Ha SallyT Yes Ann just says Stop It

  • SallyT : President Obama is thinking tonight, “Thank you Jesus! I am married to Michelle and not the dingbat Ann!”

  • PatsyT : Well AdLib if your were in his shoes what would be on your mind?

  • AdLib : Would be amusing to have a split screen of Romney’s expression in the mirror before going to bed tonight and Obama’s.

  • PatsyT : Oh I missed the tonight part..

  • AdLib : Patsy – In the 80’s?

  • PatsyT : Nighty night Murph!

  • PatsyT : To sleep tonight or some time in the 80’s?

  • AdLib : Right Murph, see you and hopefully many others for our live chat here Wed night during the debate. It should be very lively!

  • SallyT : See you Murph!

  • AdLib : What do you think Obama was thinking tonight before he went to sleep?

  • PatsyT : Wasn’t he also classified as a sea creature?

  • MurphTheSurf3 : Well folks- time to pull the plug but I will see you all here on Wednesday for the Live Chat.

  • AdLib : And William Howard Taft was our first zoo animal as President.

  • PatsyT : Well maybe that Pres. Buchanan “made it work”

  • AdLib : Patsy – James Buchanan was our only bachelor President. He did throw some very tasteful parties I’m told.

  • PatsyT : AdLib Yes and Tim Gunn

  • SallyT : They say that President Buchannan was gay. Lived with the same man before, during, and after the White House.

  • AdLib : Patsy – President DeGeneres?

  • PatsyT : Or has that already happened and we just don’t know

  • SallyT : AL, perhaps those older folks won’t care to waste their limited energy going to the polls to vote for Romney therefore they won’t be there to vote for any of the other races. One can hope.

  • PatsyT : Can you imagine the first gay couple in the Whitehouse?

  • AdLib : Patsy – It’s an open secret that Reagan came down with Alzheimer’s in his last term and Nancy was making a lot of decisions, as was Reagan’s cabinet. This grand image the Repubs have of Reagan, I remember him as a confused old man in his second term. It really is shocking when you think about it.

  • SallyT : Yes, I think she was but Nancy never admitted it. Well, she had to check her astro charts first.

  • AdLib : Patsy – We have to accept that for maybe 35% of this country, voting Republican is like being a Christian, it’s your faith and you follow it religiously. Fortunately, many of those people are older folks and as time goes by, that percentage will shrink smaller and smaller.

  • PatsyT : Hey wasn’t it Nancy Reagan in charge some of the time…

  • SallyT : The GOP is pretty scared on those senate seats to have to back Aktins.

  • PatsyT : I just hope people are coming to the conclusion.. vote all those GOP empty vessels out, now

  • SallyT : I can see her saying it is no ones business to see more tax returns because they will use it against them, that is self protection on her part. And the Stop It was also defensive reaction but why would you question your husbands mental health to everyone. Dumb.

  • AdLib : Murph – This was something I mentioned a while back, the money advantage of the RW SuperPACS is meaningless as long as Obama has enough money to go dollar for dollar in the swing states. There’s only so much good ad time available and all those extra millions just sit in your pocket with no more ad time to buy. Obama was smart and started early when his ads could dominate. Now they’re pretty well matched but that’s working just fine for Obama.

  • PatsyT : Great point Murph!

  • AdLib : Murph – I love rumors and theories like that! Still, they never do come to fruition but they’re fin to imagine. I think Boehner could lose speakership to Cantor though, as revenge from the Baggers for being forced to have Romney as their candidate.

  • PatsyT : AdLib, two different worlds. One, reality, happiness, joy. The other, fantasy, fear, farce.

  • MurphTheSurf3 : Sally. I think Ann is used to saying what she wants, when she wants. Think of her interview re. the tax returns- about as imprudent as one could imagine. And then “Stop It!”

  • AdLib : Patsy – I think that if the polls don’t change in a big way after the first debate, the money will start drying up for Mitt and pour into Congress races. For that reason, I won’t be terribly heartbroken if the MSM lauds Romney after the first debate…let the Kochs throw away more money on him instead of Congressional races.

  • MurphTheSurf3 : Patsy- remember the promises of hundreds of millions- not materializing… …and the Obama people are making better use of the dollars by capitalizing on the rates given to candidates for tv time per FEC rules.

  • SallyT : Murph, they sure would have. I just can’t see why Ann Romney would be so stupid to say that in the first place. I don’t see her as a stupid woman but maybe she is.

  • AdLib : Patsy – When Ann did her “Stop it!” I thought of my daughter when she was little and wanted me to stop tickling her. Not an adult thing to think and say when you’re in the midst of trying to wrestle the presidency away from the American people and their best interests.

  • MurphTheSurf3 : Ad Lib- Now this is hot off the rumor mill. If the House loses as many GOP seats as seems possible now….Boehner still has a technical majority but enough of the TP are so angry they will not accept him as Speaker and demand Cantor. Boehner has to cut a deal with Pelosi to get the votes he needs….imagine .

  • PatsyT : When will the big money guys ask for their $$ back? Why should they spend any more on this farce?

  • SallyT : That is how I see it, too, AL.

  • AdLib : Sally – The Baggers will turn on the GOP Elite for forcing Romney on them, the GOP Elite will blame each other for not getting a better campaigning elitist…I do think it will be a real inter-party war.

  • PatsyT : SallyT they already have.. those people are jumping ship

  • MurphTheSurf3 : Sally….of course, but what would it have said about Barack and Michele – how would the right wing have set about to take advantage of it- and the wolf packs in the right wing press? Feeding frenzy.

  • SallyT : You don’t think they will put the blame on Romney as a bad canidate as the reason for their losses?

  • AdLib : Murph – The Repubs would have Eagletoned Obama!

  • AdLib : Murph – How about this, with the Presidential race having no suspense to it, they turn to the battle for control of the Senate and House. Then after the election where the Repubs take losses all around, the attack on the GOP and the coming GOP civil war is on the front burner?

  • PatsyT : Stop it, this is hard, you try it

  • SallyT : Why would she say that? Stupid thing to say!

  • MurphTheSurf3 : Sally and Ad….imagine Michelle making a similar comment about Barack at this time in the 2008 election…imagi ne.

  • AdLib : Sally, just for the record, Mitt has smooth plastic like a Ken doll beneath his magic underwear.

  • MurphTheSurf3 : Ad-+- I see them creating options. One option is to keep the race hot IF they can. But, if they cannot, they need another source of heat….GOP meltdown.

  • AdLib : Sally –

  • SallyT : Well, alongs as Romney’s fly isn’t down and his stock up…….

  • AdLib : too

  • AdLib : Sally, Ann said that her biggest concern if ROmney became President was for his mental health. This led a number of people, including me, to think that she’s obliviously projecting, that Mitt is currently going through a bad mental period and Ann is not to happy about it.

  • AdLib : Murph – Very possible and if Romney makes a major gaffe, I’d think it was very likely. However, the MSM has a vested interest in keeping the horse race perception alive so if they can do it without stretching credibility too far, I think they will. I saw a lot of that going on already in the MSM today, many saying that just being on the same stage with Obama and not falling off of it, Romney’s stock goes up. Huh? And if a fly lands on the stage, its stock goes up too?

  • SallyT : Okay, I got here late…what exactly did Ann say????

  • AdLib : Night Sabreen!

  • MurphTheSurf3 : Ad Lib- another angle….the pundits, both left and right, are shifting the ground….take on Romney and the GOP- a party that no longer has a national platform, civil war within, with the Obama win as background (along with Democratic resurgence). Many of the pundits have egg on their faces and need to clean it off.

  • Sabreen60 : It’s time to say good night. Take care everyone.

  • AdLib : Sabreen – Michelle Obama wears a top without sleeves and it’s a press meltdown. She said she was really proud of America and was crucified. You’re 100% right…or at least 47%.

  • AdLib : Patsy –

  • AdLib : Well, my bet is that the public will not see Romney as sincere as he pretends to be a populist in the debate and will favor Obama. Meanwhile, as most here have said, the MSM is bursting to be able to praise Romney and keep the horse race going. So, even if it seems to be a draw or Romney makes a minor stumble, my bet is that the MSM will say, “A solid performance by Romney and this puts him right back in the race!”

  • Sabreen60 : People are asking on Twitter whether Ann’s comment about Mitt’s mental health be on a 24/7 loop if FLOTUS had said it about PBO?

  • SallyT : Patsy, I bet he would fix the numbers so it takes as little stokes as possible, too.

  • PatsyT : Maybe he is more of a paint by numbers kind of guy

  • SallyT : I think the President is going to come off as Presidential as always and Romney will keep looking at the sole of his shoes to see if he has stepped into the shit yet.

  • AdLib : Sally – He’s a terrible artist but just give him a brush and a canvas and paint the painting for him and he’s brilliant!”

  • AdLib : Murph – I think Obama will indeed touch on Bain or at least the vulture capital thing and talk about the failures of Romney’s governorship. But I think the focus for Obama will be the details you speak of and using them to exhibit to those watching that Romney is a lying sack of manure.

  • SallyT : He’s a terrible artist and he maybe great with paint but he can’t paint a house. He has illegals for that.

  • AdLib : Murph, that’s like saying, “He’s a terrible artist but he’s great with paint.”

  • MurphTheSurf3 : Politico Today made the claim that those close to Mitt are saying he would be a fine Prez….he is just a bad campaigner….mo re ground laying for the debate…..Obama intends to nail him to the wall with specificity and callenge Mitt’s entire lack of it….further I expect the Prez to look back to Mitt’s three claims to the Prez- his guvship, his give away Olimpics, and BANEFUL Bain.

  • SallyT : Whoops, should have been LGD, AdLib.

  • PatsyT : AdLib, I have been think of the Samuel Jackson version of that

  • SallyT : But, he might get that confused with LDS>>>>>>>

  • SallyT : Or, LDG for short.

  • AdLib : Seeya Funk!

  • AdLib : In my fantasy, OBAMA: “Governor Romney, may I call you “Lying Greedy Douche?”

  • PatsyT : Nighty Night Funk…

  • Sabreen60 : Nite Funk! Take care of yourself.

  • PatsyT : AdLib, Hey those pacific type are good with math!

  • SallyT : You have the same, Funk, and good night.

  • funksands : Folks gotta go. Have a fab weekend and stay safe.

  • PatsyT : ahh that should be Pres. Obama

  • AdLib : Patsy, “I have the figures for that, just a moment while I pull an Indonesian out of my pocket and read off his palm.”

  • SallyT : He loves all the little people, why, he would let any of them ride on the roof of his car.

  • PatsyT : I don’t think Pres Obams will ask to call him Mitt.

  • funksands : Ad, that’s spot on. Romney 2.douchebag

  • AdLib : Funk – Be prepared in the debate for Mitt 2.0 – The Romney of the People, By the People and For the people! My bet is he will repeat endlessly what you point out, how he loves the little people like his own pets and wants to make things wonderful for 100% of all Americans…star ting with the top 1% and trickling down from there.

  • Sabreen60 : Yep, I remember that AdLib. Wasn’t there some phrase she wanted to use, but needed to call him Joe?

  • PatsyT : AdLib Ha thats the ticket … just get some cheep oversees labor to hold up their palm for the correct facts and figures

  • SallyT : I saw where Gingrich advise to Romney was to attack the media. Figures.

  • AdLib : Patsy – Unless your palm has been outsourced.

  • AdLib : Yeah, how is it ever acceptable in a debate to say, “You can ask the questions you want, I’ll talk about what I want to.” That’s not a debate, that’s an argument between 5th graders.

  • PatsyT : There is only so much room on your palm

  • funksands : “Jim, I love poor people. I adore their disgusting filthy faces. They’re so cute when they come up to you and beg for change. I gave all of those scabby cretins health insurance, which proves what a great guy I am. I simply think that caring for uninsured layabouts should be the business of the individual states and not the federal government”

  • SallyT : I don’t think they gave her any figures or stuff like that unless she had them written on her palm.

  • AdLib : Sabreen, as Game Change explained, the reason Palin asked to call Biden “Joe” is because in her debate practices, she kept calling him, “Senator Obiden”.

  • Sabreen60 : Funk LMAO :D

  • SallyT : Exactly, Funk, that is why she had a script.

  • PatsyT : Its kinda creepy to have Rob Portman lurking in the shadows at all of the Romeny events, Portman is the debate partner playing the Pres.

  • funksands : Sally it could also have something to do with her being a stupid git.

  • AdLib : Now…how does Romney sail through Health Care and The Role of Government?

  • SallyT : Sabreen, she was told to keep to the script they had given her. That is why she couldn’t answer any questions that weren’t in the script.

  • AdLib : Here’s the structure of the debate: The commission said Wednesday that the six 15-minute topic segments for the first debate are: The Economy – I, The Economy – II, The Economy – III, Health Care, The Role of Government, Governing

  • SallyT : The first debate is always a touchy feelly one. The next debate will be the agressive one.

  • Sabreen60 : If I remember correctly Palin refused to answer questions. She said she was going to say what she wanted. Right? At the beginning of the debate she asked Biden if she could call him Joe?

  • funksands : Murph, that would be ideal.

  • MurphTheSurf3 : Funk…I agree…I think O is going to try to take out Mitt so he can focus his energy on the House and Senate…..

  • AdLib : Funk, since Romney needs a Hail Mary on every down at the debate, it would be more strategic for Obama to sit back and let Romney’s desperation be put on display. I do think though that Obama will have some clever but not overly aggressive parries and thrusts that will put Romney off balance…but he’ll let the public see Romney off balance and stumbling I think instead of knocking him down.

  • funksands : ;-)

  • PatsyT : funk yes, hail mary full of grace, is not in the mormon dictionary

  • SallyT : Right, AL, at first they will say he held his own and later it will come out that he really didn’t say anything and Obama won.

  • funksands : First debate is domestic policy – host is Jim Lehrer

  • funksands : Romney needs a hail mary touchdown in debate one to get this back in his direction. That is NOT who he is.

  • AdLib : Sally, I think you’re right on the money. It will be like Biden/Palin. But do you remember what actually happened afterwards? The MSM patted Palin on the back for a job well done, “She held her own!” but the public didn’t like what they saw and polls showed they felt Biden won. If Romney doesn’t blow it or if Obama doesn’t get a solid punch in, I think we’ll see the same thing. MSM pundits will say, “Romney looked Presidential and in control of his lies…er…fact s!” and polls will show that the public thought Obama won the debate. The key here is that after the first debate, the polls won’t change dramatically and that story will become the real story, that no matter what Romney does, it’s too late for him to change things and win.

  • SallyT : But, what is the topic of the first debate?

  • PatsyT : funk .. hope you are right, judging by the way they have run this campaign they will make smart choices and judging by the way the folks have run the Romney farce they will make more boneheaded over there… I think

  • SallyT : I don’t think they will want The Prez to come off as going for the throat in the first debate.

  • funksands : I think Obama smells blood and they are going to try to go in for the kill on Wednesday. He seems really really confident right now.

  • Sabreen60 : Hi Patsy!

  • SallyT : Funk, I think it they are like they were in the Palin/Biden debate. She was told to keep to the script and I think that is how they are coaching Mitt.

  • AdLib : Hey Patsy!!!

  • funksands : Paaaaaaatsy. Long time darlin

  • AdLib : Sally – Barring a major flub by Romney, I agree. The MSM wants desperately to salvage the horse race, ratings and revenue are likely on a path to slipping. Meanwhile, the public will ignore their pronouncements and say, “But still, Romney is a douche.”

  • Sabreen60 : Romney has said that PBO will lie. Karl Rove, anyone? I saw PBO stand flatfooted at the Repub Conference and take them all on – no notes – no teleprompter. It was the best smack down I have ever seen. I’m not worried about PBO. However, the media has set the bar so low for Mitt, it will be hard for him to fail. They did the same thing when Palin debated Biden.

  • funksands : Ad, I don’t even pay attention to him in the GOP primaries. Its hard to judge your debate skills when your opponents are rabid feces-throwing monkeys

  • PatsyT : Hey folks, I’m late but love to read you thoughts .. Is Romney cooked?

  • funksands : Sally I think you are right. Do you think that’s because of low expectations or because the MSM wants him to do well or something else?

  • AdLib : Funk – Romney was a poor debater against Ted Kennedy. He looked good in only some debates against mental patients in the GOP primary…I take the opposite view, he was the tallest midget in the room in the GOP primaries but that don’t make him tall.

  • SallyT : I think they will say that Romney held his own in the first debate. I don’t think they will declare a winner in that one until way later.

  • funksands : Seriously though. My wife was floored when Reid said that about Romney. That just is NOT done in that community

  • Sabreen60 : Funk :D :D :D

  • funksands : I do know that Romney is a better debater than the right gives him credit for, and Obama is not as good as debater as Democrats think he is. One thing in Obama’s favor is that Romney is desperate, and as we’ve all seen gets real sloppy when he’s desperate

  • AdLib : Funk – Maybe Harry doesn’t relish the prospect of becoming Minority Leader? Bringing Mitt and the Repubs down means he gets to stay the boss. I think that’s pretty good incentive for him to be pounding down Red Bulls.

  • AdLib : So, what do folks here think, will Romney blow it at the debate, come off mediocre or be celebrated as a big winner?

  • funksands : Sabreen, I did. Ol’ Harry’s taken some pep pills over the last few months. Guess 5 years til re-election and no business in the Senate will keep you attitude sharp

  • AdLib : Funk – Maybe they deeded the boat to Rafalka and took it as a training write off?

  • funksands : BTW I’m halfway through “The New New Deal”. Fascinating book and a really interesting peek into the dynamics of the White House during the great unraveling

  • AdLib : Funk – Have to say, as romanticized as Sullivan’s words may seem, I’ve been saying that years from now, he will be looked at as an incredible President in explosive times who was a godsend for the nation. Lincoln wasn’t very popular in his time. We may be in more of a Cold Civil War now but Obama has many parallels in common with his hero Lincoln and I think he will be remembered as being more in his company as a great president.

  • SallyT : Funk, yes they are. The Marriot is a big think in SLC UT.

  • Sabreen60 : Funk, I did not know. Did you hear that Harry Reid said something about Mitt reflecting negatively on Mormonism?

  • funksands : Ad, I’m sure he probably figured out to write it off as “business equipment”

  • funksands : Sabreen the Marriots are high Mormon royalty.

  • AdLib : Funk – Wow…that’s what I was afraid of. But, when you’ve got hundreds of millions and $20 million a year in unworked for income, what’s a quarter million when you pay so little in taxes?

  • funksands : Sullivan on Obama: “…He will emerge as an iconic figure who struggled through a recession and a terrorized world, reshaping the economy within it, passing universal health care, strafing the ranks of al -Qaeda, presiding over a civil-rights revolution, and then enjoying the fruits of the recovery….”

  • funksands : Quarter mil easy

  • AdLib : Funk, how much do you think a boat like that costs?

  • SallyT : Funk, that is just the dingy.

  • AdLib : Funk, you put it far better than I, it is a romanticism that Sullivan has for the GOP of the past and he takes any opportunity to imagine he can go back to it.

  • funksands : Oops. «link»

  • funksands : Ad, no doubt. Here you go. Romney’s Lake boat at leasty

  • SallyT : Funk, you may be right. I was just going for that planet thing the Morman’s believe in.

  • AdLib : Sabreen, I’d hate to be the maid that has to clean up that Republican’s room!

  • funksands : Sally, I think that was Battlestar Galactica.

  • AdLib : Funk, I’ll bet dollars to donuts it ain’t no row boat. Even if it was smaller than a yacht, you can bet that boat cost more than most Americans could afford.

  • funksands : Ad, one of my favorite things about Sullivan, but also one of his weaknesses on occasion is that he’s a romantic.

  • Sabreen60 : I had just seen a Marriott hotel commercial where an elephant was used as the hotel guest instead of a person. I thought,’gee that’s weird’. Then I see Mr. Marriott supporting Mitt and connected the dots.

  • AdLib : As a mourning Repub, Sullivan has a weakness in his desire for the Repubs to go back to what they were…or how Sullivan saw them. He can be incisive until he gets too close to that fantasy then he can spin out a bit away from logic as he chases after the possibility that he could go home again. He does write some very sharp articles, just saying that when he goes in this direction, he spins himself sometimes. Still, haven’t read this article so I’ll be more gorunded in talking about it after I have.

  • SallyT : The Marriotts are Morman. They have yachets in outerspace, too.

  • funksands : You know not to detract from Maddow’s awesome piece about the yacht, but I don’t think they have yachts on little lakes in New Hampshire.

  • Sabreen60 : Funk, PBO says he wants us to thrive and not just survive. He gets it.

  • funksands : Hi Ad!

  • funksands : Sabreen, I am surviving. Thanks for asking.

  • AdLib : Murph – Yep, that’s it! How sublime! Vote for Mitt, he’ll help you moor your yacht! Sincerely, Mr. Marriott. That should get Romney more of that 47% undecided vote!

  • funksands : Murph, I thought the point he made that Obama may save the GOP by eventually yanking it back to the center was interesting, if a bit naive (may not be the right word)

  • SallyT : I can see where being able to moor a yacht can come in handy while being President……. of the yachet club!

  • MurphTheSurf3 : Sabreen…that he does, but the article is interesting….O bama redefining the nature of his party as Reagan did.

  • AdLib : Hey Funk!

  • Sabreen60 : Funk I’m maintaining my sanity, which is saying something! How are you?

  • AdLib : Murph – Saw the Sullivan story but haven’t read it yet. Was the gist that Obama has the Teflon thing and is so beloved, it negates the negatives around him?

  • MurphTheSurf3 : Ad Lib That was one of the Marriotts. It is their Dad that Mitt is named for…Willard.

  • Sabreen60 : Murph, sometimes he blows with the wind.

  • funksands : Hi Sabreen. How’ve you been?

  • AdLib : Sally – Did you see the endorsement Romney got today from some top CEO of a top corporation? He went through a long story explaining how Romney helped him moor his yacht! And he’ll do the same for America! Just what Romney needs, a yacht mooring story for voting for him.

  • funksands : Like Michael Corleone said: That’s the price you pay for the life you choose.

  • Sabreen60 : Hi Funk!

  • MurphTheSurf3 : Sabreen Why?

  • Sabreen60 : Murph, Sullivan gives me angina.

  • AdLib : Sally – Too bad for Shep, I’m sure he’s appalled by it but if you sleep with the Devil, you oughta expect to get burned.

  • funksands : Hi Sally. Nice to see you!

  • MurphTheSurf3 : Obama as Reagan per Sullivan «link»

  • SallyT : Hello, Funky!

  • AdLib : Murph – Hey, it’s worse than that! Prominent Repubs who are running for office are blatantly pushing Mitt aside and saying, “I’m not with him!” Some blue dogs including Claire may have kept their distance from Obama but they haven’t displayed such contempt for their own Presidential candidate as Repubs have!

  • funksands : Hello.

  • MurphTheSurf3 : Ad Lib AND others- did you see the Sullivan essay on Obama as a Democratic Reagan?

  • AdLib : Murph – Gotcha! Might not this presage a continued decline in voter enthusiasm on the Right? ROmney is draining the Repubs of enthusiasm daily while Obama is pumping up the Dems. I have little patience for pundits and will be pleased to see that they end up predicting the exact opposite, Dems will be more motivated than Repubs this year just as in 2008.

  • SallyT : Oh HELL, you know I meant impression! I haven’t been drinking either.

  • SallyT : I also saw on the web that Romney polls high with wealthy women. SURPRISE, SURPRISE! (my Gomer Pile imparition.)

  • AdLib : Sabreen, I really like Angelou and will check out that conversation. It is a bit heartbreaking to have to accept that racism is still so prevalent and connected to the same awful hatreds of the past. We’d like to think that in an age where Obama could be our President, we’ve evolved past such a thing.

  • SallyT : It is all over the web, as you can imagine.

  • SallyT : AL, I think Shepard was serious. He did look really upset. I saw it on Current TV, not the actual suicide but they were talking about it on there. I don’t watch FOX.

  • Sabreen60 : WOW Murph. Hail Mary? Really? Geez!

  • AdLib : Sally – Shepard has had his moments of ringing the sanity bell over at Fox which is kind of fascinating. But, he knows what side his bread is buttered on and pulls back into the Pit of Hell time after time. I’m sure his upset is in earnest on this, what a horrible thing to be forced into having associated with you when you seek to be respected as a journalist.

  • MurphTheSurf3 : Ad Lib- not a single one of the GOP primary contenders is working for Mitt and the few true surrogates he has- such as Sununu – seem more and more unhinged.

  • SallyT : Oh, and the kid started in Phoenix where he stole the car at gun point and they followed him for 90 mins. He almost made it to Calif border. And, the boy was white.

  • MurphTheSurf3 : Ad Lib….what you say is so….but the key is that this announcement was spoken out load to a group of TP leaders and has been passed on. The state chair is furious….crack , crack, crack

  • Sabreen60 : AdLib et al, I watched Stephanie Miller and she had Maya Angelou on the phone. I don’t know if it’s on Stephanie’s Facebook page, but it was great. Maya told the story of when she was a little girl in the 30’s and how her grandfather and an uncle would go to the polling place to vote. They were asked questions, such as, how many angels can dance on the head of a pin or how many bubbles were in a bar of soap. Of course they couldn’t answer. When they returned home to people waiting to hear how it went they were hurt, sad, embarrassed, etc. But they would go every time there was an election. Stephanie asked her did she think the racial backlash would be this bad after President Obama was elected. She said “no”. She said she was “surprised and sad”.

  • AdLib : Murph – Have you ever seen such a chorus of angry voices dissing their own Presidential candidate? And voices from the top GOP elite to top pundits and rank and file? Forget all the qualifying in the media, Romney lost this race after the 47% comment, polls confirm it.

  • SallyT : Sherperd was really upset. FOX does these car chases to try and get the younger audience. SICK!

  • AdLib : Sally – How much lower can Fox go, now they show people being killed…disgust ing.

  • AdLib : Sally – Local news here in LA broadcast that once then changed their policies of not showing close enough shots of standoffs once cars being chased stop.

  • MurphTheSurf3 : Sabreen- and then Morning Joe began to say a Hail Mary……he is in shock….so many of them are….how bad can Mitt get.

  • SallyT : Sherperd was the newscaster and he kept hollaring for them to break away from it but they didn’t. The 10 second delay didn’t work and they showed it. Sherperd apologized and said that it was terrible thing that they let that happen.

  • AdLib : Murph – The Baggers were all supporting Akin anyway, such a call is meaningless and changes nothing. It is the undecided in MO that matter and Baggers are not among them.

  • AdLib : Sabreen – I loved that clip! When Repubs can’t help but publicly groan at their candidate, that’s just so sweet!

  • SallyT : Yah, ADLib. They were following a car chase, which FOX is famous for, and the kid got out of the car and shot himself.

  • AdLib : Hey Sally! What? Fox showed a suicide? What was it about? Talk about symbolism for the GOP’s outlet!

  • MurphTheSurf3 : Ad- a Tea Party Leader in Mo. is calling on the TP to support Akin at all costs….and to hell with the GOP.

  • Sabreen60 : Murph, I saw clips of Joe Scarborough with his head in his hands saying “Sweet Jesus” as he watched that Mitt trying to get folks to say “Romney/Ryan”.

  • AdLib : Murph – There was video today on MSNBC of the press crew on Romney’s plane trying to ask him questions…he just mechanically handed out beef jerky, didn’t make eye contact, just kept chuckling and talking to himself. That looked a bit like a man losing his grip.

  • AdLib : Sabreen – Very interesting. When I hear someone come up with something out of the blue like that, I’m drawn to figuring out what motivated her. Often, we voice our immediate concerns in masked ways and that’s what it seems like to me that Ann did.

  • SallyT : Good evening to all of you. Have you seen FOX showing someone committing suicide live? To bad it wasn’t FOX itself.

  • AdLib : Murph – Yep, I’ve been holding back on an article that I may write next week, don’t want to get ahead of ourselves but I can see a real meltdown in 2013 after Obama is inaugurated for a second term. The hateful and racist Baggers will both strike out verbally against America and the GOP for forcing Romney on them. We thought it was a civil war in the party this year, I don’t think we’ve seen anything yet like we’ll see in 2013.

  • MurphTheSurf3 : AD AND SABREEN I caught an interview that Romney did with a local tv station from ?????? today that was from yesterday….Mit t looked absolutely brittle…Did you see him try to get a crowd to move from chanting “Ryan” to “Romney Ryan” and the look on his face when no one took up the chant….somethi ng is very much amiss…

  • Sabreen60 : AdLib, folks on Twitter agree with you. This seems to be the most prevalent thought: “Ann Romney is concerned for Mitt’s mental well-being if he were to be elected. I’m concerned for his mental well-being NOW.”

  • AdLib : I like to live a little dangerously, I’ll wager that Romney blows it in the debate on Wednesday or at least comes off unimpressive and seals his fate.

  • MurphTheSurf3 : Ad Lib and Sabreen- my phone and e mail are lighting up re. the Florida Story…Ad Lib…have passed your interpretation along. Getting agreement on all sides. Sabreen your comments re. Ann R. seem to be on target as well. IS THERE A GENERAL MELTDOWN IN THE MAKING….

  • AdLib : Sabreen, yep and I was so pissed off at the Dems for stampeding to follow the Repubs to kill ACORN out of fear. Dems can be incredibly spineless while Repubs can be incredibly hypocritical.

  • AdLib : That phony smile and laugh of Mitt’s is a mask, behind it Mitt could be losing it. He’s being dissed by Dems and Repubs, losing an election the GOP thought was a slam dunk, knowing he’ll be remembered as a real loser and disliked by most of the nation…it is just desserts for such a greedy man who has ruined so many other lives.

  • Sabreen60 : The Republicans have used Karl Roves playbook since Bush. They accused ACORN of voter fraud and got the weak-kneed Dems to go along with not funding them – all the while Repubs and this organization have been committing voter fraud.

  • AdLib : Sabreen, I think you’re right about that, you don’t see spouses in very wealthy families with very healthy relationships. All that money does corrupt people. What I was saying though is that, maybe Mitt is having a bit of a breakdown right now, Ann is aware of it and unintentionally mentioned his having good mental health in the Presidency as an subconscious thing?

  • AdLib : As the GOP continues into its downward death spiral, voter fraud and suppression are no longer optional in their eyes, it is the only way they can compete. Where is the DoJ on this kind of thing that happens every election?! Why must we accept that this will go on with little to know criminal prosecutions scaring Repubs off from trying to sabotage our elections?

  • Sabreen60 : AdLib, I think Ann knows her husband. Either he is emotional unstable or she is? Why would she sabotage him. She said negative stuff about him before. There was a pretty good comment (IMO) on The Obama Diary thread about their seeming dysfunctional relationship. Mitt said they were not going to let her speak too much so people wouldn’t get tired of her. Something is not right. Personally, I think both are dysfunctional. They are both liars. In that same interview, Ann said that PBO had not created ONE job. That this has been a jobless recovery.

  • AdLib : Murph, yep, mentioned that below. This is terrible but the kind of astonishing hypocrisy that’s not surprising. Of course the Repubs were engaging in voter fraud while claiming Voter ID laws are needed to stop the horrible possibility of voter fraud. Block Dems from voting and set up fraudulent Repub voters, the tactic of a party that no longer can get a majority of Americans to vote for it.

  • AdLib : Hey Sabreen! Yes, I saw that. Do you think it’s an unintentional admission that Mitt is currently on the verge of a nervous breakdown? Or in his case, a short circuit?

  • MurphTheSurf3 : Ad Lib – what do you think…of the link…my contact who sent that says the company involved has been doing this stuff nationwide.

  • AdLib : I’ve been following that story Murph and this group is in most if not all of the swing states…no doubt committing voter fraud in all of those places too.

  • Sabreen60 : Did you guys see & hear Miss Ann say she would worry about Mitt’s mental well-being if he were elected?

  • MurphTheSurf3 : Hi Sabreen

  • AdLib : I know I may be in the minority but while it’s likely Romney will be a perfect wind up toy…I think he’ll look over-rehearsed, unnatural and less human while he tries to savage Obama and deliver “clever” snarks.

  • Sabreen60 : Hi Folks!

  • MurphTheSurf3 : «link»

  • AdLib : Try the link again, Murph

  • MurphTheSurf3 : We are a small crowd tonight – take a look at this story that just came my way….«link» apnews.com/ap/db _16029/contentde tail.htm?content guid=nsSZjzus

  • AdLib : So Murph, what do you think we’re going to see in the debate on Wed?

  • AdLib : AB – BTW, that doesn’t sound like the most delightful drive, glad you made it safe and sound!

  • AdLib : Sleep well, dear AB and dream of another Obama Inauguration…

  • AlphaBitch : Ok, sweet friends. It’s time to close my eyes and try to get some sleep. No fun driving 10 hours when sick, much less with 18 wheelers forced to a single lane on the interstate. Yikes. Once I get through memphis, it’s smooth sailing.

  • AdLib : AB – Oh I know, you should see how pink my hand is from being slapped when I reach for the pink MB mug!

  • AdLib : Yes, I saw! Very nice! Maybe he will sing about the Baggers, “Psychokillers, qu’est-ce que c’est, fa-fa-fa-fa-fa, fa-fa-ga-fa.”

  • AlphaBitch : Ad = we have navy and pink. But the pink one is the prized one – just ask the lovely Mrs. Lib

  • AlphaBitch : Ad, can’t do it tonight. I’m too tired, and too full of Honey boo boo nightmares to take another restless night. did you see my post? going to see David Byrne on Wednesday! Uh huh uh huh.

  • AdLib : AB – Very cool! Our mugs come in all colors, I’ve got a green one and my wife has the pink one.

  • AdLib : Here’s the link: «link»

  • AdLib : AB – The PRI is the definition of corruption. Mexico is headed for a deeper decline. Check this out from today’s news: Mexico’s lower house of Congress on Friday gave provisional approval to a bill that would mark the biggest shake-up of the country’s labor market in four decades. Workers have been angered by reports that the labor reform could force Mexicans to work for as little as 8 pesos ($0.62) an hour. The PRI and the PAN have denied this.

  • AlphaBitch : If I were the Pres, I’d mention those undies when I shook his hand. Something like “Hope those magic undies come in brown!”

  • AlphaBitch : Jess, I did. And it’s a good thing. My dear friend who comes to visit from Austin ALWAYS picks MY mug when we have coffee. And she gets up before me! So I walk down, and there she is, MY mug in hand. This will solve that little problem. I’m thinking of buying a whole set. Blov is secure enough to drink from a pink mug.

  • AdLib : Can you imagine how freaked out Romney is right now? Being hated on all sides and sinking in the polls…and having so much riding on the debate in just five days? He’s got to be soiling those magic underwear. Good.

  • MurphTheSurf3 : AB- Mo. is not a lawn sign kind of place. Same with bumper stickers.

  • AlphaBitch : know what makes me really truly sad? That Mexico is now so messed up. I’d always figured I’d make a “run for the border” if things went south here. I hitchiked thru a great portion of it in the 70s. Love it to pieces, and am so sad and disgusted at the drug violence. Word here is the new govt. has struck a deal to leave one cartel alone and then take out the others. Sleeping with the devil in my mind. If you kill ’em, kill ’em all.

  • AdLib : AB – BTW, did you get your POV mug?

  • AdLib : They’d open my hood then put it over my wife’s head!

  • AlphaBitch : or beating Mrs. Lib when she dared to laugh.

  • AdLib : I used to buy gas at Texaban but I got tired of them taking the books out of my daughter’s hands while we filled up.

  • AlphaBitch : Gag, Ad. How about some brussel sprouts with chocolate sauce?

  • AlphaBitch : in all serious, Murph – do you have many signs or stickers? Texas is a blank slate. I think most are proud of Julian, and now just pretty damn confused. But we are a hard headed people, just like the Taliban. The Texaban.

  • AdLib : AB – Broccoli chip cookies?

  • AdLib : AB – Real men say “Damn!”. Phony macho bonehead governors say “Oops!”

  • AlphaBitch : Yum. Onion milkshake. Would be great with my bacon sundae.

  • AdLib : AB – How about the voter fraud coming out on the Repubs and their operatives? That is all Rove and the Kochs have left, now that they see their money just isn’t going to get people to buy an onion milkshake named Romney.

  • AlphaBitch : Texas, Ad. It’s either “whoopsie” or “oops” or “fuck this”.

  • AdLib : AB – Love it! I laughed at Rick Perry in the debate when he said “Oops!” like a five year old!

  • AlphaBitch : Watch Rove, Murph. When you don’t see him, he’s scurrying around, doing something really bad. Like a cockroach. Or, as I call ’em, a KarlRove.

  • AdLib : Murph – I do think that now that Claire has a free hand to go after him for all of his insanity, the money won’t be enough to help.

  • AlphaBitch : Ad – one of my favorite things is teaching my 6′ Pashtun kid to say – in a high pitch – “Whoopsie!” when he messed up. Cracked me up for a year. Still does!

  • MurphTheSurf3 : Ad Lib…Claire is ok, but now that we know the money is going to flow from GOP coffers….no surprise there….and the GOP Dinosaur crowd is closing ranks.

  • AdLib : Sorry about that AB, our web host has messed up a bit lately. And I’m missing my economy sized bottle of Oxycontin I use for mixing drinks…could there be a connection?

  • AlphaBitch : Whoa Nellie – I got bucked off there! I’ll check out soon. Maybe I’ll just sit and read for a while….

  • AdLib : And Warren’s looking strong in MA!

  • AdLib : Murph – But all is going well with Claire. Looks like Akin just can’t help himself from looking like a chauvinistic dinosaur…if he believed they existed, that is.

  • MurphTheSurf3 : AB-+- at this point I would be happy to just have a chair I have been so much on the run….

  • AdLib : Sorry about that AB and Murph, our web host has been messing us up lately!

  • AdLib : AB – Very interesting. They are old school conservatives though, this new radical Baggerism must make them feel almost liberal.

  • AlphaBitch : Aint’ that the truth. Did I tell you about my lunch with the DAR? REALLY surprising, in that it was much more liberal than I had thought it would be – at least their featured guest.

  • AdLib : “I’m a Muslim and I’m okay, I plot all night and I slink all day!”

  • AdLib : AB – The funny thing is that if instead of ID laws, they brought back poll tests, so many white voters wouldn’t be able to vote and many minority voters would be just fine!

  • AlphaBitch : Murph: You can join me and kes’ and some others “Secret Muslim Society”. We’ll make you the Chair of Vice.

  • MurphTheSurf3 : AB Obama is Black? Who knew!?

  • AlphaBitch : One of the test should be “Do you watch Fox NewLies?

  • AdLib : AB – And the problem is???

  • AdLib : Murph – Not only that, if Obama wins, he will declare this the Muslim Brotherhood of America!!!

  • AlphaBitch : Ad – we’d be screwed. No one in East Texas or Arkansas.

  • AdLib : AB – Instead of Voter ID laws, there should be Parent IQ laws.

  • MurphTheSurf3 : Ad Lib…I KNEW IT….Obama is the BEAST……and the FIFTH Horseman of the Apocalypse.

  • AlphaBitch : Murph – next they will report Obama is still black. That will cheer them up!

  • AlphaBitch : Nope, Ad – that;’s the Boo boo clan. Good Lord. I seriously can’t believe they don’t take those chirren away from those slobs.

  • MurphTheSurf3 : AB- I think the folks on the Right are looking for some good news…..and that is as good as they can get.

  • AdLib : Murph – I may be crazy but I could swear if you turn the polls upside-down, they form the numbers 666!

  • AlphaBitch : Murph – McCain/Palin? For reaL? Or are you drinking Nyquil tonight too?

  • AdLib : Hey Murph!!! And a Happy Mittanic to you!

  • AlphaBitch : Shudder……

  • AdLib : AB – Are you talking about Palin or Honey Boo Boo?

  • AdLib : Whoops, try this link: «link»

  • AlphaBitch : Just to catch you “up”, they even had a 17 year old pregnant unmarried daughter. Somehow, not all that surprising, her sweet little baby girl was born with two thumbs. I couldn’t help but think “incest”???

  • AdLib : AB – I found this still from Honey Boo Boo but it looks oddly dated…«link» ww.afi.com/silve r/new/nowplaying /2008/v5i2/image s/whatever.jpg

  • MurphTheSurf3 : OH-+- and Mittanic…

  • MurphTheSurf3 : THE POLLS ARE ALL WRONG….McCain/ Palin are up by 3 Percent…….in the Swing State Average….I swear I saw it on Fox, heard it form rush, and read it on Drudge. SO IT’S GOT TO BE TRUE.

  • AlphaBitch : Oxy and a Nyquil chaser, pleae.

  • AdLib : AB – Well…at least it illustrates why Palin was seen as “brilliant” by some. Sarah Boo-Boo?

  • AlphaBitch : Ah, see – just being here makes me climb down. Maybe I’ll have a HBB Halloween party! Dress as your favorite slobby redneck, or as the BooBoo clan……

  • AdLib : AB, I usually make it with Oxycontins and Robitussin but if you prefer a custom mix…

  • AlphaBitch : God, Ad. They are fat unattractive Palins.

  • AdLib : AB, I think of horrible reality programs as roach motels, at least it attracts and keeps the really messed up people out there away from the rest of us!

  • AlphaBitch : Thanks, Ad. Does it blend w/ sleeping pills and cold medicine? And boo-boo hangovers?

  • AdLib : Here ya go, take the Sparkletts bottle size Pomegranate Margarita.

  • AlphaBitch : Hey Murph – how ya’ doin? Are you seeing a lot of posters/stickers for R/R?

  • AlphaBitch : They don’t die, but they scream so loud you go insane. My God, this is where I live??????? There are people who validate this type of B.S.? And who would vote Republican? I’m depressed. Make me another, please.

  • AdLib : AB, you’re braver than I am. I worry that if I watch it, I might actually hear the sound of my brain cells dying.

  • AdLib : We serve our drinks in commemorative Romney “Oh Well” well glasses that are big enough to put a car elevator in

  • AlphaBitch : Well, last night I quit early and had too much time in a not fun town, so I made a nearly FATAL mistake of watching my first (AND last) episode of “Honey Boo Boo”. I took a sleeping pill and had nightmares about it all night. No kidding.

  • AlphaBitch : Make mine a double.

  • AdLib : How goes the wagon train?

  • AdLib : Hey hey AB! Drinks are on The Planet!

  • AlphaBitch : Can’t a bitch get a drink around here?

  • AdLib : Don’t forget to say “RMS Mittanic” or “Hi!” when you arrive!

  • AdLib : Vox Populi, our live chat about the week’s events begins tonight at 7 pm PST. See you then!
