• AdLib : Thanks Sally! I’ll get the bowls of peanuts!

  • SallyT : Night Murph. I’ll get the lights, AdLib.

  • AdLib : Night Murph!

  • MurphTheSurf3 : Good night.

  • AdLib : Murph – Very Interesting. Though I would like them to do so to mess up the Repubs, I would do the same if the tables were turned and the Dems did that to the candidate I supported.

  • MurphTheSurf3 : Sally and Ad Lib, closing Vox together….cool …first time.

  • AdLib : Okay Sally, thanks again for closing Vox Populi with me! Have a great weekend and rest up, we’ve got a big week ahead with the Repub convention!

  • MurphTheSurf3 : Ad Lib and all of the Birthday Partiers…the initial response to the Paulie Video is NOT good….these focus are passionate and smart…they are being played and they may be slow to adapt to the game but there is word on line of a very vocal walkout when it plays.

  • AdLib : Sally – As I was mentioning to Murph about that bogus predictive model on who will win, sometimes it’s best to counter lies without repeating them, just affirmatively responding with positive info that buries the lies.

  • SallyT : Well, AdLib, I think I will have to call it a night, too.

  • SallyT : KQ, ice cream and cake to you! Have a great BD weekend. Think good thoughts!

  • SallyT : Right, AdLib. I don’t want their lie to be all that is heard. It is negative. I want us to put the positive to the comment and how it was intended. I think that will get real cheers from us as their lie will get from their crowd.

  • AdLib : Murph – If I was a Paulite, I would be incensed and furious. And those types are far more emotive in those areas than me. Hmm…I wonder if they will react or just roll over on this because that’s what Paul wants them to do.

  • AdLib : Then a very happy birthday to you, KQ! Have a wonderful birthday weekend!

  • AdLib : Sally – I will guarantee you that the theme of respect for working people and economic fairness and justice will be a big theme at the Dem convention. Along with what government does to help all of us, Medicare, SS, infrastructure, etc. Repubs run on how horrible gov’t is, Dems will run on how it helps and supports our society.

  • SallyT : Murph, I guess that depends on the tribute. It could just add gas to the fire, if there is one.

  • KQµårk 死神 : Ok last call time for me to hit the hay too.

  • KQµårk 死神 : You know me I roll the best I can. The wifey’s asleep so I got to play a bit.

  • SallyT : And, infrastructure helps businesses get going and keeps them growing.

  • MurphTheSurf3 : BACK for a MOMENT…..just got an email…there is going to be a video tribute to Ron Paul….and no platform for him….talk about tokenism and pandering. Will the innocents buy it?

  • SallyT : AdLib, it not about that, its about putting the truth ahead of the platform that the Repugs are pushing. Showing that we are concerned about business and its employees. And, those that aren’t working, too. Those we want to help find work.

  • AdLib : Roll with it, my friend. It’s still your birthday, a great hotel and someone special to celebrate it with, yes?

  • KQµårk 死神 : My body feels 80. We’re at a beautiful hotel in downtown atlanta but I can’t even drink a nice glass of wine with my new found diabetes

  • AdLib : 50 is the new 35.

  • SallyT : 50 is young, KQ!

  • AdLib : HAPPY BIRTHDAY KQUARK!!!

  • AdLib : Sally – But employees of companies don’t feel outrage at the idea of government helping their business. Only egotistical jerks do.

  • KQµårk 死神 : Ugh I just turned 50

  • SallyT : I am right behind you KQ. You have a good night.

  • SallyT : Still, AdLib, I hope they cover it because many employees work for small companies. And, the elderly do vote for the Democrats and especially for Medicare and SS concerns.

  • AdLib : Night KQ! Sleep well and have a relaxing weekend!

  • KQµårk 死神 : Night folks

  • AdLib : Sally, the elderly skew Repub so if less elderly vote, Repubs are more hurt than Dems.

  • SallyT : KQ, that is another concern of mine. Some of the elderly might not care to get involved with the hassle and the young won’t have time for it.

  • AdLib : Sally – I think the “We Did Build It” BS is only good for getting cheers from their base. I don’t think it is very resonant or meaningful to the majority of voters because they’re employees and wouldn’t be outraged about government helping them.

  • SallyT : The Repugs are going to have a whole night on “We Did Build It” or something like that. I hope the Dems cover that in their convention and show the truth.

  • KQµårk 死神 : Exactly Sally and it’s not that the hurdles are impossible to vote but how many unenthusiastic dems will even bother to jump them.

  • AdLib : Sally – It’s a big concern. Just glad that the lawsuits and DoJ actions are underway now, not happening after the fact. Meanwhile, the Dems are pursuing a secondary track of trying to help people get IDs in case the lawsuits are blocked.

  • AdLib : Cheers Murph!

  • SallyT : KQ, I am nervous about people being able to vote. All these voting rules changes are scary to me.

  • MurphTheSurf3 : Sally, KQ, Ad Lib…and all who have left us for the night. A pleasure as always.

  • AdLib : KQ – The Dems are going to have a heavy pro-woman convention and word is that there will be a big focus on what they intend to do in the next 4 years. The dynamics are pretty basic, the incumbent runs on what he will do, the challenger runs on attacking the incumbent and in some cases (though not this time around) on the vision they have for what they will do in the WH. So, the Repubs are necessarily positioned as the negative party and the Dems as positive. By making the most of that in their convention, I think they will benefit greatly.

  • SallyT : Murph, hope you at least have a good team of oxen on that wagon. Have a good night.

  • KQµårk 死神 : Night Murph I am a nervous nellie always have been. But then again I rarely get dissapointed that way.

  • AdLib : Murph – Keep up the great work for Claire, she must be feeling a lot better about things this week! Have a great weekend!

  • KQµårk 死神 : I think we all agreed that Obama and the Dems need to make a very positive pivot at the DNC. I think what they choose to pivot on will be most important. Right now both sides are not talking about what they would do in future.

  • AdLib : KQ – That’s true about swing voters not being well informed…if they were, they wouldn’t be swing voters. But swing voters who are women have at least heard something about the Repub positions on them and polls clearly show they favor Obama.

  • MurphTheSurf3 : Well ALL…let us hope that Ad Lib has his nimble fingers on the pulse of the nation and that KQ and I are just nervous nellies….but.. ….Goodnight to all. Early morning meeting for Claire- whose wagon (not yet a bandwagon, more like a conestoga) I have reluctantly climbed on.

  • AdLib : Murph – Actually, I don’t see how it does anything more than discourage some Dems in the short term but considering how quickly things change in people’s minds, once the Dem Convention is over, Dems will be very positive and enthusiastic. This lame model hardly has the power and standing to influence over that.

  • KQµårk 死神 : Unfortunately swing voters are the most uniformed voters.

  • AdLib : Murph – I wouldn’t say that I’m counting on smart voters, most voters know that the Repubs want to kill Medicare and the Dems want to keep it as is, polls have shown this. So, smart isn’t required, just a modicum of awareness which already seems to be in place.

  • KQµårk 死神 : Bingo Murph but then again this is the same country that elected bush twice with an asterisk.

  • MurphTheSurf3 : Ad Lib- I am active in four circles of conversation…I will keep my ear to the ground on this. The thing is a really neat cudgel if it is well wielded.

  • AdLib : Murph – Nate Silver does know that area pretty well and has come out definitively to trash that model. I don’t know, sometimes it’s best to let BS sink and be flushed away. No one will be talking about that bogus model next week once the GOP convention begins, perhaps we should let it sink into the obscurity it deserves?

  • MurphTheSurf3 : KQ and Ad Lib….I think Ad Lib is counting on smart voters making an informed choice. I think KQ is relying on idiots being maneuvered into bad voting.

  • SallyT : I do think that that negative job approval is on Congress as much as the President if not more! The people are fed up with Congress and the do nothings.

  • KQµårk 死神 : I think we are in such unchartered waters with the zillions of ads that are being run against Obama. Romney is not even trying to sell himself but that may be his best strategy. If Obama does win it will be the first time I can remember that an incumbent won with a negative job approval on the national level.

  • AdLib : KQ – Though we do have to take individual polls with a grain of salt, they have consistently shown Obama in the lead on electoral votes and Romney has charted a course away from indie voters. So, does Romney really have a shot at bringing indie voters over with his talk of Birth Certificates and his elitist gaffes? I don’t see it.

  • MurphTheSurf3 : Ad…I would be interested but I do not feel competent. I do not know polling and predictive models well enough to be sure that what I write is on the level. I was hoping this might be up your alley.

  • AdLib : KQ – Yep, the MSM will do all they can to keep the race close but the big picture matters too. If people simply don’t like or trust Romney and don’t want their Medicare and SS taken away and don’t want the wealthy taking their tax money, they’re not going to elect Romney no matter how much money is spent.

  • KQµårk 死神 : Just remember what I said about the bar being low for Romney. The MSM is going to start to kick in with their false equivalencies and keeping the race close. The election is still not about Romney yet.

  • AdLib : Murph – Would be good to take that on. I did see though that Nate Silver, Daily Kos and others have completely discredited it already. Still, as the ignorant continue to promote it, more light on this phony model can only help. Would you be interested in writing something on it?

  • KQµårk 死神 : Murph the Dems should be worried. We have a huge huge money disadvantage and enthusiasm gap.

  • AdLib : KQ – You keep saying this but I have to keep disagreeing, Romney is not in striking distance because the trends show him behind in too many swing states. And as I’ve said, Romney should be ahead now against a Pres with a weak economy and 8.2% unemployment…b ut he’s not. That means Obama is benefiting from his likeability and Romney’s unlikeability.

  • MurphTheSurf3 : Ad Lib- you know that bogus poll that I brought to your attention yesterday….tha t has been cited in a dozen communications I have had today BY DEMS as the blowing of the trumpet of armegeddon. I know I suggested that it would be nice if WE (by which I meant YOU) were to put fingers to keys and write a think-piece that eviscerated it. Given any thought to this? I have been trying to learn more about the authors.

  • SallyT : And, AdLib, after we win, we raise their taxes! That election will cost them lots!

  • KQµårk 死神 : If elections were about issues the Dems would never lose.

  • KQµårk 死神 : Like all elections with economies this bad it will be about whether voters think Romney is passable that’s all. The bar is low for him.

  • AdLib : Sally – Right with you on that, it would be an important and meaningful defeat for the wealthy if Obama and the Dems prevail. Can’t think of a more important fight for all of us to be fighting.

  • AdLib : KQ – Don’t disagree with you about the short memories of voters (handing The House to the Repubs less than 2 years after they and Bush destroyed the country!). And the Brat Dems who whine that Obama hasn’t done everything they’ve wanted. But in the end, if Obama’s campaign is just marginally successful, the election will be about killing Medicare and giving the wealthy more from the pockets of the 99% and that is a hard one for Repubs to win.

  • KQµårk 死神 : AdLib with all of the GOP’s and Romney’s gaffes and horrible summer he’s still within striking distance. A good convention and better than expected debates will give Romney a 50-50 chance at least.

  • SallyT : Well, if the President wins re-election and the Dems hold the Senate and take the House, that will show that all those Billionaires can’t buy the government. I am still afraid that they might but I pray they won’t.

  • AdLib : Sue – You are right about this, it’s been a long term campaign but it is a very vulnerable movement, once they try to tear off the facade and act, they turn the public against them. It’s a flawed strategy but it has been working to a degree. Even so, the wheels seem to be coming off a bit now. They couldn’t even get their personhood laws passed in MS! The pendulum swings back and forth, they have had their gains, they are due for a lot of losses, just as the Moral Majority went through.

  • KQµårk 死神 : Sleep well Sue.

  • KQµårk 死神 : The problem is AdLib many people will vote for a Repug if they nominated a ham sandwich because they hate Obama so much.

  • SallyT : Nite nite, Sherlock!

  • SueInCa : Well good night everyone. My pc is getting tired and I need it to last. You are right Murph. I don;t like saying that but I have worried ever since I got so deep in investigating these people. They are truly evil.

  • SallyT : Murph, I saw that they were going to have people in 30 states.

  • AdLib : Murph – Well, think how you were feeling about McCaskill’s chances last week and how you feel about them now. I have confidence that rats will eventually betray themselves as rats and people of character will be seen for that as well. It’s not always the case but more times than not, it happens. In the case of Obama vs. Romney, I am confident that by the 1st week in Nov., Romney will continue to be seen as unacceptable and Obama as the better man.

  • MurphTheSurf3 : Sue- The Dominionists Triumphant….he ll on earth.

  • MurphTheSurf3 : Sally- those kinds of things are happening here now that the Akin/McCasskill race has tightened up. The GOP here did not think they had a care in the world so it is too late for legislation so they are moving to intimidation. There really could be big trouble in this gun heavy state.

  • KQµårk 死神 : IDK AdLib people in this country have a short memory and are deluded at that. The worst part is how many people I know personally that turned on Obama and the Dems. You know the line Gitmo, drones, Obama=Bush they are still out there and will sit home.

  • SueInCa : One final comment from me. I hate to say I told everyone so but I will. This is all part of the Dominionist drive I have been singing for the past three years. They were stealthy. In fact ministers telling their congregation not to identify themselves as Evangelicals until they won office. Things like that. Then the incident in Wake County. Most were Evangelicals and Koch bought and that was in 2009 or 10. These people have been organizing for years. Once they are outed they are gone but not without a major confrontation(so metimes in the streets) So if they win it is over.

  • SallyT : I saw that there is some outfit out of Texas that is training people to intimidate voters at the polls. Saying they are Poll Watchers and they stand over people that they think they can scare.

  • MurphTheSurf3 : Ad Lib – ever the optimist. As I have said over and over again…hope you are very correct and I am very much in error.

  • AdLib : Murph – It is a nightmare scenario but don’t forget, when the Repubs pushed the nation too far the last time, the people pushed them out and elected Barack Hussein Obama. As long as there are elections, even with voter suppression and dirty tricks, a landslide against a hated party can’t be prevented.

  • MurphTheSurf3 : Ad Lib….just as they were leaving after our talk, the young man turned to his wife and said: “I don’t know why I feel so awful, but I feel really sick.” She responded: “This is how you feel when you are betrayed by someone you trust.”

  • KQµårk 死神 : NV was a caucus state for the GOP so it’s hard to compare

  • SallyT : I am concern about the suppression of voting and some people just getting fed up with it all and not voting.

  • AdLib : Murph – Very interesting. For some people, especially younger people, they need to learn that change in society is a long slow process when it comes to being constructive and that the only things that happen quickly and directly is destruction. There is no overnight solution to a plutocratic government that doesn’t reflect the people. It’s a step by step thing and like gardening, the most productive soil has to be laid down, the weeds have to be pulled and the young sprouts have to be nurtured into fruition.

  • SueInCa : In NV the Republicans could not even have a decent turnout at the primaries and they were early

  • KQµårk 死神 : Absolutely Murph. Likely a 7-2 majority on the SCOTUS as well.

  • SueInCa : KQ that is not true. Ralston(a favorite there) says the registration for dems is way higher and he is in the thick of it. Adept2U says the same thing.

  • KQµårk 死神 : I’m a stats guy and in the articles I read more Repugs are registering than Dems in key states like NV.

  • MurphTheSurf3 : KQ…my nightmare…more GOP control of the states when they already have a majority of assemblies and governors; maintain control of the House, take the Senate (even narrowly), take the White House (by hook and by crook), and then we will see the return of Poll taxes- no federal income tax, no vote; a Supreme Court cemented to right wing ideology; and the new CSU- not Confederate States of America but Corporate States of America.

  • SallyT : Goodnight, Sabreen!

  • SueInCa : Night Sabreen I will be going soon my PC goes fastthen slow. It will race pretty soon

  • AdLib : Night Sabreen, have a wonderful weekend and absolutely, we remain positive, confident and motivated!

  • Sabreen60 : Good night CL. I am right behind you. Everyone please take care and stay positive.

  • AdLib : KQ – I don’t see the Dem complacency. Dems are pretty active out there, on the web and on the streets. Don’t believe the MSM BS about Dems not being motivated, it’s highly suspect.

  • KQµårk 死神 : Sally we are not the problem for sure but there are many out there that are.

  • SueInCa : BTW KQ I agree with you that it will be over

  • MurphTheSurf3 : Ad Lib….one young couple I know live in a trailer…raise a lot of their own vegetables from transplants they buy from me. He is a truck driver. She is a waitress. Both are VERY intelligent and have been taken in by the libertarian gospel. We have discussed this on and off for months. They were certain Paul would head a crusade that was unstoppable. And then they got stopped. We sat down under a tree in the midst of a 100 degree day and drank ice tea and spoke of disillusionment in the political process. He is 23. She is 24. I need to find an excuse to see them again soon.

  • SallyT : CL, you have a wonderful evening and relax! See you later.

  • KQµårk 死神 : The GOP has become a virus the only thing it stands for is getting back into power and it does not matter if the host dies.

  • SueInCa : Night CL. I am not complacent KQ are you talking about the politicos?

  • choicelady : AdLib – you, too!

  • AdLib : Night CL! You’ve had a long week, get some rest this weekend!

  • SallyT : KQ, Mitt sees nothing wrong with that. He is rich and he is entitled. That should make him look great to all those people that think they might be rich someday, too.

  • KQµårk 死神 : I just don’t understand Dem complacency. If we lose this election it’s over.

  • AdLib : KQ – That is the takeaway indeed from Paul’s cowardly backing down. It’s all about greed and getting what they crave. Ron Paul wants his son to be permitted to keep pursuing his quest and he agrees to pay the price for that. You don’t see principled Repubs standing up for something that is the right thing to do when it endangers what they crave.

  • choicelady : Ladies and gentlemen, I’ve hit the wall. Been writing way too much stuff on ballot propositions today, and it squeezed out all my brain juice. So I am bidding you all good night – and I will do my best to be here next Friday so hope you all are here, too. Good night!

  • SueInCa : KQ King and Queen Romney

  • KQµårk 死神 : Exactly CL I mean who is so cheap they hide money offshore when they know they are going to run for president.

  • choicelady : Sabreen – yikes. Those are some nasty people and a nasty family.

  • KQµårk 死神 : In the end all Republicans are cowards and sellouts AdLib.

  • choicelady : KQ – The Banker “Mr. Potter”? That’s how I see him, too!!!

  • KQµårk 死神 : I always think of Mittens as being Mr. Potter.

  • choicelady : KQ – if it would not backfire on him big time, I’d love for Obama to say, “If I were as powerful as you all think, I’d not mess with me or annoy me at all.”

  • Sabreen60 : Oops! Hit the enter key by mistake. All I could say was “Whoa”. «link»

  • AdLib : Murph – It is telling that Paul has bowed to the GOP Elite and backed into the shadows…he wants to preserve the path for his son to carry on and wouldn’t risk that to stand on principle.

  • Sabreen60 : This is a really creepy article I read at CNN IReport about the history of the Koch. All I could say was

  • KQµårk 死神 : AdLib they will blame it on Obama anyway so we should just call it Hurricane Barack

  • choicelady : KQ – and don’t forget MITT in the “boy who never grew up” category. The GOP has a long standing tendency to raise up drunken frat boys into positions of power when all they should be doing is planning keggers. ALL they should do.

  • MurphTheSurf3 : Since there will be so little real news at the Convention, Link and Current and BBC and PBS and CNN International are planning to spend the week going after side stories…if they can get int the door the potential for bad news is very great. The rich are arrogant plutocrats, the tea parties zealous idiots, and the party regulars lost in a land they know not.

  • KQµårk 死神 : Murph is right Ron Paul sold out so without him they will be quiet. It was a cult of personality.

  • AdLib : CL – Hey, it is a damn shame that the hurricane is named after a man! It should have been Hurricane Isabella, a “she” slamming into and hammering the Repub convention!

  • KQµårk 死神 : When you’re 25, indestructable and 40 years from Medicare Libertarianism sounds great. But most of us grow up unlike Ryan and Paul.

  • AdLib : CL – That’s exactly what I was just thinking, the seeds could be planted for a Repub 1968-Chicago. Wonder if the Paulites might cause a bit of trouble after being cut out? And if Tampa floods as is feared on Tuesday? And anarchists are on the scene. Could be very messy but after seeing the military-styled police forces attacking OWS, I think they will be more likely to keep order with an iron fist.

  • choicelady : Wise, AdLib. Very wise. After four go-rounds with FBI and NSA during the Bush “golden years”, I KNOW they do pay attention. Today they do it legally, but still – always good to be careful.

  • SallyT : CL, exactly.

  • SueInCa : MTS I always knew they backed the wrong horse.

  • SueInCa : Adlib if all the crazies like the judge in Texas are running free I think you are safe

  • MurphTheSurf3 : SUE- I have some contacts here in Mo. among the Paulistas and they are literally gobsmacked (to use a British word). They cannot believe how easily they were swatted down and how willingly their putative leader has gone into exile. WHY? they ask. CAUSE HE HAS BEEN PURCHASED WITH THREATS THAT THERE IS NO FUTURE FOR RAND UNLESS THEY KOWTOW! Smart young people badly led.

  • choicelady : Sally – is this like “it’s not nice to fool Mother Nature”? A herricane might get even for all the assaults on women? LOVE it.

  • SueInCa : What about NYC in 04? The police were purposely herding people into areas off limits then arresting them.

  • AdLib : CL – Out of principle and a desire never to get a knock on the door from the Secret Service, I never mention anything worse happening to a political adversary than being “taken away” by aliens or tornadoes.

  • KQµårk 死神 : Don’t forget all the faux patriotic stuff AdLib and how Romney will bring the country back without saying how.

  • SallyT : If a hurricane picks them up, she will throw them back down. After all she is a Herricane.

  • SueInCa : Thanks MTS I will read it later on.

  • choicelady : Murph – save for Chicago 1968 I’ve never SEEN such a possibility of total chaos erupting at a convention! WOW! This could be SO cool!

  • MurphTheSurf3 : WORD FROM TAMPA…When Republicans, Hurricanes and Anarchists Collide: the coming tempest in Tampa Bay….While riot cops and anarchists gear up, a hurricane the size of Texas is barreling down on the Republican National Convention in Tampa, Florida. «link» GREAT ARTICLE….

  • SueInCa : MTS Wonder how romulans will take that. Most are libertarian or indies. Perhaps they are the ones to riot at the convention?

  • choicelady : Hooo boy Murph – that’s HEAVY! Wow did that punch a hole in Paul’s expectations!

  • AdLib : KQ – The hour the networks carry will be such BS, lots of moaning about how Obama has failed and how they can wave their magic wand to make everyone rich and happy. That will be the worst hour of the night, I’ll bet.

  • SallyT : CL, that will be very interesting.

  • SueInCa : Adlib you never know it could be like the hurricane of Galveston in 1900. They were not expecting that either

  • choicelady : ADLib – it’s kind of you to damne them to Oz.

  • MurphTheSurf3 : SUE-+- Today the Rules Committee under the direction of the behind the curtain principal GOP attorney who has represented every major figure and movement in the last 15 years….cut the BALLS OFF OF PAUL and any other independent in the party with rules that say once a state is won in the popular vote ONLY delegates pledged to the winner can be at the convention. The message is clear…mess up and you will be OUT of the Party….

  • choicelady : Sue – yeah in Sacto FOX isn’t half bad. But I’m thinking MSNBC until I leave. Then I will see what the overseas press and TV have to offer! Could be VERY insightful.

  • SueInCa : Those good for nothing pundits on MSNBC sure have gotten alot of vacation.

  • AdLib : CL – My evil fantasy is that only the worst of the GOP, Kochs and Rove are in the hall when, like The Wizard of Oz, a tornado is spawned and takes them over the rainbow!

  • SallyT : No matter, KQ, they will still cover it and if anyone is totally crazy, they will all repeat it.

  • KQµårk 死神 : Only MSNBC will show the crap.

  • SueInCa : See Adlib I saw KQ’s response and thought no coverage? Of course I forget cable. If that is the case KQ then here in the bay area they get some pretty good info even on channel 2 which is fox

  • choicelady : OK anyone – what channels do you recommend for showing batshitcrazy? I’m easily bored so need a fix of the good stuff!

  • KQµårk 死神 : Most swing voters won’t watch cable news

  • Sabreen60 : CL, if Ann believes the stuff she says about Mitt, then the light is on but nobody is home.

  • MurphTheSurf3 : Sue…the Occupy thing is not on my radar at all….need to look into it further…..the agenda on the convention floor is BIG SPEECH….millin g around….tea party mini speeches from the platform and in breakout rooms…BIG SPEECH….a few rules to pass….a platform to ok….BIG SPEECH….nothin g real at all….THE BIB STUFF IS OUT OF THE WAY AND OUT OF SIGHT.

  • SallyT : The cable channels will get the batshitecrazy.

  • choicelady : Sabreen – awwww. Thank you!!!

  • KQµårk 死神 : Absolutely AdLib the networks are only devoting an hour a night so you will only see well rehearsed sanity rather than the batshitecrazy

  • SueInCa : I don’t think it will work with the baggers. If they don’t get primetime they may not play. Does anyone think Paul will pull anything.

  • choicelady : Sabreen – you have to admit that Romney married well. The only woman in America who thinks his dysfunction is admirable. I think she ain’t wrapped too tight either.

  • Sabreen60 : Bad CL – Bad CL :D :D

  • SueInCa : Yeah CL Mitt is golden so she says

  • AdLib : Sue – I don’t know, I have a feeling that they will keep the Baggers out of Prime Time and try to build a facade of being the moderates that they’re not. Hope I’m wrong, would be great fun to see baggers and birthers wreaking havoc.

  • choicelady : Sabreen – I’d think Ann speaking in the middle of a hurricane would be SO AMAZING! There she stands as the roof gets torn off and she raises her arms to the Heavens and declares it’s GOD SHOWING HIS LUV FER MITT!!!! Then maybe she’d get washed away or something…and he’d get the poor widdower sympathy vote.

  • MurphTheSurf3 : CL…the fat cats do not care an iota for the GOP’s moral social agenda….it is all about the money…..taxes (as in close to none), subsidies (for those making mega profits)…., deregulation and no oversight. The moral agenda is how they lure in the religious fundies and angelics. Akin is NOT one of theirs.

  • SueInCa : Murph sounds a bit disjointed to me. I read the agenda and some of that stuff is the same old same old like Occupy? WTH do they have to do or say about Occupy? And BatshitBachman to headline it?

  • SallyT : I saw they changed when Ann will speak. They had her originally on the night that the hurricane might hit.

  • Sabreen60 : Gee KQ you are bursting my bubble :)

  • choicelady : KQ – I don’t think he can get 61% of white people after screwing over union labor. It’s still predominantly white.

  • choicelady : Murph – why so many residual fat GOP cats if the party has thrown Aiken under the bus?

  • KQµårk 死神 : only club convention. Mitt’s magic number is 61% that’s the percentage of white vote he needs and he may get it.

  • choicelady : AdLib – I guess I will try the GOP convention, presuming it’s not washed out by the hurricane. And these are people who believe in “God’s signs” but would NEVER once think he was telling them to bugger off.

  • MurphTheSurf3 : Ad Lib…just got off an Occupy remnant chat room sharing of the GOP schedule for next week…the number of fat cat events is huge, they consume so much of the week…and they are so over the top. This is the MIDAS convention- everything is about gold and its sponsors are the Goldfingers of our day. There will be virtually nothing of significance happening in the hall. Almost everything that could shape policy is happening off site at private functions.

  • SueInCa : Adlib I think it is going to be a reminder of the 92 convention. I swear abortion and birtherism(not 92 but racism – Pat Buchanan)

  • SallyT : I don’t think I can watch it every night! One night, maybe.

  • Sabreen60 : Adlib, I don’t have the stomach for it. But I’ll read the tweets on Twitter.

  • KQµårk 死神 : Oh the white people

  • SallyT : They have some really good deals on the desk tops, too. And LARGE Screens!

  • AdLib : So are you going to watch the GOP convention each night? Will you need sedatives not to throw the remote at the screen or yell “Liar!” all night?

  • choicelady : Sally – I saw some the other day. They WERE good prices!

  • SueInCa : Could be CL. Sally that is where my mom gets her PC’s

  • choicelady : Sally – wow! THAT is a good deal!

  • choicelady : Sue – gremlins. It’s clearly gremlins in the works.

  • SallyT : CL, Office Depot has some really good sales.

  • choicelady : Sue – one of the nicest kids in my former neighborhood NEVER saw a joke sometimes for DAYS. It’s not everyone’s gift.

  • SueInCa : CL thanks I will look them up. It is an odd repair because it does not heat up all the time just once or twice a week and then one day every hour or so.

  • SallyT : CL, its a laptop.

  • choicelady : Sally – is that just the unit or does it include screen? I do Mac at work, that skinny thing that’s all in one but looks as if it could not POSSIBLY have everyting IN it.

  • SueInCa : No Adlib it is really me. It took me four years once to get a joke. My family makes fun of me all the time

  • SallyT : My new Toshiba cost $500.

  • choicelady : Sue – we had good luck on repairs with Tech2U that does house calls.

  • AdLib : Sue – I am a bit dry at times, not always clear when I’m joking, it’s not you, it’s me!

  • SueInCa : Sally I am going to get an estimate to fix mine first and if it is under 250 or 300 I am going to fix mine.

  • SueInCa : That call must have been good you came back with a joking mindset Adlib.

  • choicelady : AdLib – GOOD MAN! Keeping the Planet safe from creepy crawlies!

  • SueInCa : Adlib you are one funny person and I am gullible when it comes to jokes and kidding around

  • AdLib : Google crawls our site because the first time it ran through our site, I broke its kneecaps.

  • choicelady : AdLib – when Google crawls the site, is that like Bush reading my email? Creeps me out!

  • AdLib : Sue – Yep, I’m kidding!

  • SallyT : They are Sue. You don’t have to worry about that anymore. They recommend you let the battery go down at least once a month but it is not necessary. Batteries are so much better than the first one I had.

  • SueInCa : Adlib are you kidding me? I hope you told them what I think too!

  • choicelady : Sue – it would be super if Bourne could come, too. I’ve not met her at all yet.

  • choicelady : AdLib – well, they came to the right man. I’m sure you put them wise, right?

  • SueInCa : It is a date CL. Maybe Bourne can come too. Any day I am open. Sally I think someone did not let the battery charge and the memory got screwed up. I am sure Toshiba is better now.

  • AdLib : CL – It was a poll asking me if I thought Mitt Romney was just right as an elitist or not elitist enough.

  • choicelady : Sue – I’m so swamped, let’s think October when I get more sane again?

  • SallyT : Sue, my battery lasts 2 hours regularly.

  • choicelady : AdLib – I hope it was worth giving up time with us. Sniff.

  • SueInCa : CL I will find the time you need to tell me when you are in town

  • AdLib : Sorry, had to duck away for a call!

  • SueInCa : Hmm KQ I had a gateway at work and it was pretty good. I had forgotten about them. Thanks for the tip I will at least price them. I have to have a laptop. The only Toshiba I worked with the battery lasted about 1 hour. Not good for merchant demonstrations.

  • choicelady : Sue – the Crickets folks are fine – one of them asked about you a couple of weeks ago! “Your friend with the jewelry” she said. So I KNEW it was you! Come on around – I’ll take you back there!

  • SallyT : I like my Toshiba

  • choicelady : There is a site now on the “Enough Project” about conflict minerals that shows which companies have done the most to eradicate inclusion of blood minerals. Intel is at the top of the heap – the others I can’t recall though HP was good, too. Take a look before you buy.

  • KQµårk 死神 : Two of my last three laptops were Gateway and one is eight years old and still kicking

  • SueInCa : Lol Cl I could never see you as a terrorist of any kind. You are too sweet. How are the gals at Crickets?

  • MurphTheSurf3 : Sabreen- took a while to get back…I agree not all black folk are informed but here in this state the role of the black church feels much as it was when I was growing up in the South in the late 50s and early 60s….very aware, very savvy, very much a part of the political process esp. in the small towns and rural areas. And ministers are leading the way here. So tip of my hat.

  • choicelady : Sue – yes I apparently do. Back in 1978 I gave a talk to a group of people that had been infiltrated by the LA police dept. terrorist squad. After she was outed, we got her records, and she’d said of me that I was ‘very neat and clean in appearance” leading my friends to label me “The Tidy Terrorist”.

  • SueInCa : Oh no I will buy Sony again. I have had good luck with it until now. No HP either. I don’t like talking to people in India who want me to perform the same procedure time after time because they don’t know what they are doing.

  • choicelady : Sue – just don’t buy a Dell! They are cheap, but the owner is a RWNJ. I say that as a pissed off Dell owner.

  • SallyT : I had name changes because of marriage and needed to show my marriage certificate, too.

  • SueInCa : Well CL I hear you run in dangerous circles

  • KQµårk 死神 : Hi folks. Sorry folks for the slow responses. I’m checking the news too.

  • SueInCa : CL that is what I thought. It might be streaming but my PC is too sick to let it run all day long. Gonna have to break down and buy a new one but am nursing it along

  • choicelady : Sue – that IS weird! Are Sally and I that suspicious looking?

  • SueInCa : That is weird Sally my husband did not need one and we went in person.

  • choicelady : Sally – yes, I had to do that in person as well. Online anything goes!

  • choicelady : Sue – I think you get CNN international ONLY overseas.

  • SallyT : CL I was there in person and yes they asked to see my BC to verify.

  • Sabreen60 : Hi KQ!

  • SueInCa : Adlib where is CNN Intl? I don;t think Comcast has it. I have three tiers and I don’t see it.

  • KQµårk 死神 : Here we go with the registered and likely voter thing. NATIONAL (CNN/Opinion Research): Obama d. Romney (52-43 among RV; 49-47 among LV)

  • choicelady : AdLib – Oh – we might have that where we are staying! I had it in Poland along with the BBC English version. Thanks – I’d not even thought of that.

  • choicelady : AdLib – for sure Obama needs to rise about the “granny” and other Mormon issues.

  • SueInCa : Adlib When we were in Mexico we watched Intl. You should have seen the coverage on Joe Wilson. I was surprised when we got home and mnot much had been done. Intl took it and ran with it.

  • choicelady : Sally – why did SS ask for your birth certificate? If you have a number and a record of payments, it should be a slam dunk. Did you go in person? THEY require a birth certificate. Interestingly they don’t online.

  • AdLib : CL – Check out CNN International, it’s a completely different news business than CNN and pretty good, you could follow the convention on that channel I think.

  • choicelady : Sabreen – I want for you what I want for me: someone to support who REALLY embraces my values. It’s not always possible, and voting for the ‘lesser’ always stinks, but voting itself is incredibly important. I agree you have to work with whoever is on the ground, like them a ton or not, but when yes we just all want a level ground and it’s NOT that hard to achieve if you don’t create obstacles to make it difficult, then we should be able to do better than we are. It should not be this difficult. Just shouldn’t.

  • SueInCa : I agree Adlib. Obama should stay above the fray. But if birther can happen on their side, Moronism can be brought up on the Dem side

  • AdLib : Hey KQ!!!

  • AdLib : Sue and CL – Even so, I think it would be a mistake for Obama to directly call attention to the Mormon issue…but it should be exposed by secondary sources.

  • choicelady : KQ – so you say…

  • SallyT : KQ, Social Security asked for my Birth Certificate.

  • Sabreen60 : CL, Adlib – As I said “the lesser of two evils”. For years I voted because black folk died for the right. So even though I didn’t like either candidate in a particular race, I voted for the “lesser of the evils”. Many black folks have been voting like this since we were allowed to vote. Every once in a while there would a candidate that I could really get behind. But I was not going to give up my right to vote. And CL, yep I know all about the far left progressives and even some who don’t consider themselves far left. But at some point you have to choose whom you can work with and whom may have an agenda similar to your own. What blows my mind is that the average working black person in America merely wants an equal playing field. We have only asked to be accepted as true Americans. We haven’t blown up buildings and attempted to destroy institutions. It’s like the song. Just open up the door and I’ll walk through.

  • KQµårk 死神 : I don’t need papers I’m a white dude.

  • SueInCa : KQ that is because I always wondered about you with that japanese lettering :-)

  • choicelady : Hi KQ – papers, please.

  • SueInCa : What about Alpha Bitches mayor on Romney? From what she says he is very dynamic

  • choicelady : Sue – the tax issue is gonna bite Mitt and Ann in their collective Magic Underwear butts.

  • KQµårk 死神 : Hey I was never asked for my birth certificate either. ~.o

  • SallyT : Also, they have those so call Poll Watchers.

  • choicelady : Everyone – I can see the GOP convention, but not the Dems. I will be out of the country. I will try to keep abreast of it in Spanish language newspapers. My mother’s biggest regret being in Peru in August 1974 when Nixon resigned is that she did NOT buy the paper headlined “Adios, Nixon!” I will try to be more present with my high school Spanish.

  • SallyT : They can make those polls say just about anything if they can succeed in suppressing the vote.

  • SueInCa : I think so too Adlib. Both have repaired their reputations greatly. I was always a supporter but I am more pleased at how they have matured.

  • SueInCa : Adlib they count on people unlike you that will take the polls apart. Most hear the numbers and take it at its face value

  • AdLib : Sue – Great suggestion, Bill Clinton would be ideal to be the one that hammers Romney!

  • AdLib : CL – This is why some of these polls and the MSM memes about this being a neck and neck race seems like propaganda. Obama leads with women voters by 10% or more. No matter his deficit with men, between that, the black vote and the Latino vote, there just aren’t enough white Repub men in swing states to balance that out.

  • SueInCa : CL that is what I was saying. Either of them would be good at talking Mittnocchio

  • choicelady : Sue – isn’t that Clinton’s role in the convention?

  • SueInCa : CL or where his tax returns are

  • choicelady : AdLib – I keep telling you that Romney has to keep the birther issue front and center to keep us from asking how many grandmothers he has.

  • SueInCa : I think either Clinton would be good in that role Adlib.

  • choicelady : AdLib – I think playing to Romney’s base removes him from the ability to reach the center. Playing to Obama’s base gives him a huge embrace of us all, left to center. Big difference.

  • AdLib : What I would like to see at the Dem Convention is mostly positive and constructive talk about what they will do but I would like someone to paint the big picture on Romney. What kind of President would ROmney make when he has proven to be so craven that he is willing to pursue racism to accomplish his coals?

  • SallyT : Yes, AdLib. He won’t get the black vote so he has to make sure those Baggers show up for him.

  • choicelady : Sabreen – I spent a year plus working with some Black charismatic churches. They, to my surprise, are not all that far from my views dedicated to social justice. We found that if we did not discuss “those” issues of sexual justice, we were absolutely on the same page. That’s not totally true of the Black community, but these are pretty socially conservative folks, and I really came to love them all because they were very open about their political goals. They are NOT buffaloed or pushed away from justice by other issues. The idea that they are led by the nose by the conservative platform of the GOP is just WRONG.

  • SueInCa : None whatsoever Adlib

  • AdLib : Any question that Romney’s birth certificate “joke” was a racist shout out to the Baggers?

  • AdLib : Sabreen – What is interesting is how diverse the black community is in the same states where so much of the white community is so lockstep.

  • Sabreen60 : Murph, I don’t want to imply that all black folks are politically aware.Far too many of us as well as everyone else need to be better informed. However, those of us who are informed take this stuff seriously. Many of see our security dependent on the politics of the country. Not that we intend to go quietly into that good night :)

  • SueInCa : brb

  • SueInCa : Adlib you and I and everyone here knows that but remember who the audience is. For gods sake they watch fox all day long

  • choicelady : Sabreen – I’ve known that about the Black community for roughly 40 years. While there are common interests – civil rights and voting and economic justice – there is SUCH diversity of opinion, ways of life, etc. that the homogenizing of Black people as “the folks” (a term that creeps me out) is simply NOT REALISTIC. Progressives do it – the courting of the Black churches when you’d never set foot in a white one is all due to an embedded progressive belief that Black people are just too ignorant to be atheists like us enlightened white people. The RW believes that and far worse, thinking Black people just an inch or so above the goo. It so depends on the Bible you have – there are Bibles in the RW GOP hands that STILL SAY that slavery is OK because Black people gave aid and comfort to Ham, Noah’s son, when he fled having “seen his father naked” whatever the HELL that meant. So the GOP are handling their racist tendencies as positive ones – we really think you Black folks are capable of redemption if never of leadership, self direction, autonomy. So yeah Sabreen – you get it from both sides.

  • AdLib : Sabreen – The Repubs try to exploit the valid reservations black voters have about the Dems but when you have racists trying to convince black people that they are a better alternative, the Dems win by default.

  • SallyT : AdLib, there may be a few “Occupy People” there that were for Ron Paul. Not many but maybe a few.

  • SueInCa : Thanks Adlib. I will read it and if I find the interview with cnn I will post it here. I always have a hard time finding CNN youtubes or vids

  • AdLib : Here’s the link to the O’Donnell article: «link» It’s clearly BS grandstanding and trying to jumpstart her dead political career. What legit Occupy people would be there? None, just poseurs and plants.

  • SueInCa : Adlib the anarchists would most likely come from that. Then pretend to be occupy or dems

  • MurphTheSurf3 : Sabreen…it is the African Americans in my state who are making the most sense about the most topics. If I want wisdom I go to a black pastor.

  • SueInCa : 4 p.m. Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.) speaks at an “Occupy Unmasked” event hosted by Citizens United Productions at the United Theater at Liberty Plaza.

  • AdLib : Here’s the article: “Christine O’Donnell is looking to make some trouble in Tampa, Fla. The former Republican U.S. Senate candidate from Delaware will host a five-day event dubbed Troublemaker Fest at an IMAX theater two blocks from the Tampa Bay Times Forum, where the Republican National Convention will be held.” I still say, so what?

  • SueInCa : If I can find the interview she did this morning adlib I will post it. Former Senate candidate Christine O’Donnell and former television host Chuck Woolery host an event on young voters at the Channelside Cinemas 10 IMAX Theater.

  • AdLib : FYI – The first Presidential debate is in 5 weeks! Wednesday, October 3, 2012, 6:00pm–7:30pm PT.

  • choicelady : AdLib – it’s not necessarily a big deal, but it IS very peculiar that O’Donnell thinks organizing Occupy and other people to create uproar is GOOD. It’s a bizarro fit – O’Donnel and Occupy extremists. It’s not a serious concern, but it is a head shaker.

  • Sabreen60 : CL, Most black voters are not single issue voters. And believe it or not many of us are very clear eyed about the policies of the different parties. But I think one thing is true across the board – we do not abide either party disrespecting us. And the Republicans have not shown black people any respect. They lump us all together. The thing that pisses me off is I have never been on welfare, no one in my family has ever been on welfare, none of my friends have been on welfare. We are not some anomaly. The fact is people of all colors use welfare. So what? What portion of the US budget is dedicated to welfare? But what if we had? It is a crime to fall on hard times? It’s too bad that racists like Romney find it necessary to use race as a scapegoat. It’s really old.

  • SallyT : «link»

  • SallyT : Here you go, a link to the lyrics to Ode To Billy Joe:

  • choicelady : Sue – No – SALLY said he jumped. I haven’t gone back to actually listen to the YouTube I posted, so we will have to do that. How will we rest until we KNOW THE TRUTH? I can see us now starting an entire web site for young people who don’t know that song and raising up a HUGE conspiracy. Think how much fun we could have with this!

  • AdLib : SUe – Yes, I saw that article but I don’t see how that bonehead O’Donnell will have any influence on that.

  • SueInCa : correction Cl and now you tell me Billy Joe has jumped….

  • AdLib : CL – I don’t understand, Christine O’Donnell is going to get a few people together on opposite sides and that’s news and a big deal? I don’t see it.

  • SueInCa : Here is the article Adlib about Tampa «link»

  • choicelady : ADLib – scroll down to Sue’s reference to The Witch (O’Donnell) making uproar with kids. It’s very odd I must say.

  • SueInCa : O;Donnell that is the one. She could be a set up person Adlib. She is so stupid she would do it thinking it will get her something

  • choicelady : Murph – it’s why I think Mitt has Aspergers. He just cannot help himself. He blurts out things without remotely thinking about them.

  • AdLib : CL – What uproar at the convention?

  • AdLib : Sue – Don’t pay any attention to O’Donnell, she is a joke.

  • SueInCa : And now you say Billy joe has jumped off….

  • choicelady : Sue – the WITCH is behind the uproar at the convention? How incredibly disjointed of her.

  • choicelady : Sally – are you SURE Billy Joe jumped? Man – I don’t remember that at ALL.

  • SueInCa : Ok Murph and CL that witch(no she is not a witch) from Delaware says she is having a panel of young somethings and occupy kids? i wonder what she is trying to do incite problems?

  • MurphTheSurf3 : Choice….look at the comments Mitt made at a fundraisers about how well Big Business is doing because they can get loans, they can avoid taxes, and they can get around regulations. Brazen….and the truth which he sometimes inadvertently says.

  • choicelady : Sue – this is a decades long debate about what they were throwing off the bridge. There are strong factions on a ring, on a baby, on – well, no one knows.

  • AdLib : Hey Sally!

  • SallyT : Hi, Sue, and the next day Billy joe jumped off the bridge.

  • SueInCa : Hey Miss Sally

  • choicelady : Murph – Oh God – the REAL anarchists. No wonder Oakland is quiet. I really HATE those idiots.

  • choicelady : Sally! Hi and how ARE you?

  • SueInCa : CL no “And she and Billy Joe McCallister were throwing something off the Tallahatchee bridge” Their kid or a ring?

  • SallyT : Hi all!

  • choicelady : ADLib – I think we’re in for another 2008. Ryan did get a little bump, but it cannot last when Mitt reveals his total disdain for ordinary people. He cannot help himself. The debates will eviscerate Romney. He has no core principles – even Ryan is a fraud – so when there’s nothing at stake but soak the middle class and enrich the upper class, it cannot help but be revealed.

  • AdLib : Sabreen – So true, it defies belief that such blatant racism can be so matter-of-factly accepted and spread across the MSM with a shrug of the shoulders by them, as if racism is just as valid an argument to make against Obama. I don’t know which angers me more, the racists or the MSM that provides them with a national and global microphone.

  • SueInCa : I so agree with you Adlib. It told the hubby after the first debate with McCain Obama was going to win and win all the debates. He was cool and calm while mccain was screaming you kids get off my lawn

  • MurphTheSurf3 : Sue….Tampa newspapers are reporting large groups of young people who have been waging a spray painting war against the RNC and are threatening mass demonstrations.O ccupy? Faux Occupy. Real anarchists?

  • SueInCa : Sabreen I know. I think, too, the Dem party was known as the working mans party. If the Repubs can fall to disgrace as Baggers, then the Dems can improve their lot by getting back to working people and dump wall street. There is alot more real power and support from working people. They are honest and hard working and will support you to the end

  • choicelady : Sabreen – that is about as cold and accurate an assessment as I’ve read. Thank you.

  • choicelady : Sue – no billy joe mccallister threw something off the Tallahatchee Bridge. «link»

  • AdLib : Sue – I respect those who caution that Romney could do well in the debates by doing better than the low expectations for him but my thought is that these are huge minefields for Romney. He won’t be able to refuse to take questions from the moderators or escape unchallenged on his lies on Medicare, Welfare, etc. I think the debates very well may hammer the final nails into his political coffin.

  • SueInCa : Yeah Cl. He bonded some, let some go and transferred some. He also told a lie about a conversation he had with the COPolice

  • choicelady : Sue – The sheriff EMPTIED a jail? He let convicted people go on the anticipation of – what? Now that’s so boneheaded I can’t even find words.

  • SueInCa : I just would never give up my independence for anyone

  • Sabreen60 : Sue, people wonder (or so they say) that they don’t understand why the majority of black folks don’t vote Republican. Easy answer: Democrats have been the lesser of two evils. We are use to the dog whistles and coded language. We are use to being accused of playing the “race card” every time racism is pointed out. But with this election, the choice is clear. There are no dog whistles. There are dog sirens. There is no coded language. Black folks want free stuff and President Obama is the food stamp President. It’s in your face.

  • SueInCa : The Sheriff in Tampa(county) has emptied a jail in anticipation of many arrests?

  • AdLib : Sue – Men or women, those who are socially indoctrinated into the GOP are hard to convince of anything outside of their absolute conviction and faith in anything that comes from the GOP.

  • choicelady : Sue – since somewhere around half the nation’s women have had an abortion, the residue of RW sympathy comes from induced GUILT. I could tell you stories having walked hundreds of women into and occasionaly OUT of clinics and doctors’ offices. If the RW got their hooks into the women, their only goal was to produce eternal guilt. And then they become part of the legions trying to prevent other women getting the help THEY got. Nasty stuff.

  • SueInCa : I agree Adlib. Remember 08? and then October hit and it was all over oh yeah the Katie Couric interview was a big help too

  • SueInCa : I thought he jumped

  • SueInCa : It is amazing to me how some women can go back in time. I just shake my head. I would not give up my status for anything today.

  • AdLib : Just imagine how much material is going to be generated by the Repub convention for the Dem Convention. You always want to have the last word. Don’t be alarmed by any bounce Romney may get from their convention, though I doubt it will be too big, it will be blown away after the Dem convention.

  • choicelady : Sue – Bill Joe THREW something off the Tallahatchee Bridge. Lots of speculation – ring, baby, the girl… No one knows. Good music, and you could SORT of dance to it.

  • choicelady : Murph – I never once doubted that Akins would be a God-sent hero to even WOMEN who listened to only the ‘don’t kill your baby’ and not to the idiotic faux biology. You know – you can’t fix stupid.

  • SueInCa : Hi Sabreen

  • AdLib : Hey Sabreen!

  • SueInCa : CL The day Billy Joe McCallister jumped off the Tallahatchee Bridge. Everyone is Billy Joe or Bobby Joe or Bubba

  • AdLib : Murph – That’s a bit sad but sounds so accurate. Attacking the beliefs of those who are mindless followers only seems to intensify their support for the unjustifiable.

  • choicelady : Sue – I can hardly wait for the foot in mouth disease to emerge in Tampa.

  • choicelady : Hey Sabreen!

  • Sabreen60 : Hi Good Folks.

  • SueInCa : There are 7 birthers giving speeches. Now tell me they are not racists. Somebody is bound to say the wrong thing.

  • choicelady : Sue – I lived in Tullahoma, Tennessee when that was out. It’s a residue of my “Southern experience”. I liked it, too.

  • AdLib : You’ve got to figure that they have to have a number of hateful speakers there to placate the Baggers, those are probably not going to take place in prime time.

  • SueInCa : I have not heard Tallahatchee Bridge in years. I did like that song though

  • MurphTheSurf3 : ALL….McCasskil l in Mo. It is still very tough. You would be amazed how many women here see him as a righteous man speaking for them because he is speaking God’s Word of Life…..and the state is so anti-Obama…the re is a lot of delicacy required here. We want Akin to stay in while still lambasting him.

  • choicelady : Isn’t it interesting that the GOP eat their own? Especially when he actually told their version of the freakaing truth!!!!

  • AdLib : CL – That Rasmussen poll was a political play by this Rove-friendly organization, trying to push Akin out. The truth is probably that Akin is behind now but not by that much.

  • SueInCa : I keep thinking of the 92 convention and how horrified I was at the abortion and racist speeches. That was before I really knew how bad they had become. I expect a replay this week

  • choicelady : ADLib and Sue – I think the convention, where Romney is supposed to get his second big bounce, may be where he drops like a rock tossed off the Tallahatchee Bridge.

  • AdLib : Sue – When you think about it, Mitt hasn’t had many good weeks throughout. And though the convention will be very scripted, I doubt many indies will be predisposed to tune into it, already not liking him.

  • SueInCa : So is the entire Republican party nuckingfuts? I know Mittnocchio is a blantant racist and I suspect a few more on his team

  • choicelady : AdLib and Sue – well, see, that’s the thing. Poor people KNOW they’re in trouble. GOP elites deny anything can go wrong, go wrong, go wrong, go wrong, go…..

  • choicelady : Murph! Besides the silly poll showing Claire up 10 points, what’s the REAL scuttlebutt from MO?

  • SueInCa : Hell CL they will probably play slip and slide not knowing it is shit

  • AdLib : CL – And the difference between overflowing toilets and Repubs speaking at their convention is?

  • SueInCa : Adlib this has been another disastrous week for Mittnocchio and his minions. I could not be happier

  • choicelady : AdLib – what interests me is what are the GOP going to do if the hurricane hits Tampa? It will be Republicans living with over-flowing toilets at a convention center… Wow.

  • AdLib : So Murph, looks like night and day for McCaskill since last Vox!

  • SueInCa : Good Murph you stay on that phone as long as you need to

  • MurphTheSurf3 : Sue…I am here…on the phone with a McCasskill organizer..

  • SueInCa : I will check again. It showed Sacto I think. What is your group name besides CCC?

  • AdLib : butt

  • choicelady : AdLib – I always thought Satanic followers were sort of reddish…

  • AdLib : So, has this not been a terrible lead up to the GOP convention, between the Ryan Medicare debate and Todd Akin’s rape embrace? If Romney does well in the Convention, isn’t he just going to break even? Then Obama kicks his but through the Dem Convention?

  • choicelady : AdLib – I HOPE you’re right!

  • choicelady : Sue – LOL!!! I did not even know I WAS following them! But yes, I think very highly of them. It puts me in the minority in Sacto, but the whole world does NOT revolve around my peers who lobby but haven’t a lick of common sense.

  • SueInCa : LOL Adlib I really cannot see the difference.

  • AdLib : CA Forward is great!

  • AdLib : Actually, the only difference between the RW and Satan is that the RWs are far more pale.

  • SueInCa : Sorry CL I was just wondering because they followed me on Twitter. I knew they must be good if you are following them so I followed back

  • choicelady : Sue – California Forward? I know that group but they are fine. NOT RWNJ!!!

  • SueInCa : Where did Murph go?

  • AdLib : CL – I’m HOPE-ing to call Romney a jerk and a chicken.

  • choicelady : Hi AdLib – I’m dreaming of jerk chicken and HOPE. How about you?

  • SueInCa : Adlib and I are half way boycotting them now. How are you CL? Who is California Up or some name like that? Are they the people in SF?

  • choicelady : Sue – accepting Satan and his spawn makes no sense (it’s their problem not YOURS) since they think Obama IS Satan. But they’d pick any other white version indeed!

  • AdLib : Hey CL! How are you?

  • choicelady : Evening all – I’m picking up a MSM trash thread. Works for me!

  • SueInCa : They are full of such hatred for Obama they would accept Satan or his Spawn

  • SueInCa : That is why I don;t watch it is all so juvenile. If I disappear it is because my pc started to run too fast. I am having intermittent issues. Probably time to get a new one.

  • AdLib : A Mormon is going to give the opening prayer at the GOP convention…won der how the Fundies will feel during that?

  • SueInCa : I have almost an unrealistic view of organized religion and it drives my husband crazy. He is a Catholic

  • AdLib : Sue – She is so clearly a has-been hack. Mitchell has no gravitas, as you say, she stumbles and stutters around interviews and is always timid to challenge anyone on the right…though gamely insults Dems with prejudicial and poorly informed questions. And The Cycle is a brain dead Pepsi ad for being happy but vacant.

  • SueInCa : I guess it is not such a big surprise that Evangelicals are supporting a Mormon but they sure do not like to discuss it.

  • SueInCa : The thing is Andrea Mitchell stutters all over the place and is so ineffective that is why righties love to go on her show

  • AdLib : Murph – I saw Abby Huntsman on an MSNBC show and she was calmly and thoughtfully explaining some of the regrettable things about the Mormon Church. They also showed clips that were celebrating the church as well so the NBC special does that too.

  • SueInCa : you know exactly what i think of Andrea Mitchell Greenspan. She cannot add that name people would crucify her

  • SueInCa : Watch it for me too Murph

  • AdLib : Sue – I have so little time for MSNBC now, not a complete boycott but nearly that. Many folks though just don’t want to see it as the combo it is, of some Prog hosts and some Plutocratic support. Man, who can watch the Andrea Mitchell propaganda hour?

  • SueInCa : One good thing that came out of Rock Center was Abby Huntsman saying why she left the moron church. I bet her grandfather told Reid

  • MurphTheSurf3 : AL I hear that Rock Center’s special on Mormonism was very good and raised lots of questions. I am going to view it on line.

  • AdLib : Sue – And the Romney campaign went into damage control mode after that because even they know that tipping their hand on a royal Presidency would be problematic.

  • MurphTheSurf3 : AL…the control has to do with an outdated and largely ignored series of laws regarding coverage of the royals, but more importantly those who break the rules get frozen out by Buckingham fountain which in a country that still loves its coronet crowd can be real trouble.

  • SueInCa : We talked about this Adlib precisely why I never watch anymore. Effin cheerleaders for Romney and the only thing I can think is the money. Follow the money. Problem is you cannot catch money.

  • AdLib : Sue – MSNBC and NBC are trying their best to promote Romney and his Mormonism in specials. What a load of crap those stations are.

  • SueInCa : Then you also have a problem with Mittnocchio telling a network what questions they cannot ask. I know I do

  • AdLib : Murph – Exactly, it seems so moot in the internet age but the exercise of that power of the press I have a big problem seeing.

  • SueInCa : Seeing Unicorns in the sky? Believing you can become a God?

  • AdLib : Sue – Mittchinosis is very contagious. Symptoms include uncontrollable chuckling, insensitivity and not being able to tell reality from illusion.

  • MurphTheSurf3 : Ad Lib…very complex rules regarding coverage of the royals….all pretty silly and given the internet, pointless.

  • SueInCa : I am just kidding or am I lying? Lying seems to be the thing to do these days, Right Mittnocchio??

  • AdLib : Huh? Hurricane in No Cal?

  • AdLib : Hey Sue! How are you this fine evening?

  • SueInCa : Hey everyone hows it goin? We are having a hurricane up here in Nor Cal

  • AdLib : What amazed me is the royal family’s control over the media to suppress the photos…except in one case.

  • MurphTheSurf3 : The scepter and the orb have never been so proudly held.

  • AdLib : solid

  • AdLib : Hey Murph! I hear Harry called dolid balls in the side pocket.

  • MurphTheSurf3 : Just finished organizing a pool party….Prince Harry is our featured guest.

  • AdLib : Don’t forget to say “My Akin head!” or “Hi!” when you arrive!

  • AdLib : Vox Populi, our live chat about the week’s events begins tonight at 7 pm PST. See you then!
