• AdLib : Heh! It will be getting pretty intense around here as the year keeps rolling, and I mean that in a good way.

  • MurphTheSurf3 : Oh yes…I am getting as rabid about this campaign as someone else I know (hint: the initials are AL)

  • AdLib : Murph – Go get em! I know you’re as anxious as I am to see Chris’ article.

  • MurphTheSurf3 : Sally and AdLib…gone and back. I need the links to Chris’ story for another site.

  • AdLib : Great! See you then! Night!

  • SallyT : Good night, Mr AL and I will be around.

  • AdLib : Okay, I’ll check it out now, see you here tomorrow!

  • AdLib : Yep! Just having guests on because they’re RW but dumb or just broken records of talking points is a waste. And yep, I remember you warned me last week! I still watched it!

  • SallyT : If I don’t say anything, that is saying something.

  • SallyT : Didn’t you notice I didn’t mention it to you last week? I try to keep you informed.

  • SallyT : Last week sucked!

  • AdLib : Nice! Last week’s was weak.

  • SallyT : Good night, AdLib. Wish you all the same!

  • SallyT : Mr. T laughed out loud several times.

  • AdLib : Great, I will make my way out of the PlanetPOV Vox Populi broadcast booth and check it out. Have a great weekend Sally and wonderful night’s sleep!

  • SallyT : Well, I let you get to Tivo and you will enjoy Bill tonight. He has some good jokes.

  • SallyT : Cheers!

  • AdLib : two

  • AdLib : Always keep to glasses for the end of the night. Cheers!

  • SallyT : I think Murph is gone, AdLib. It’s just us again.

  • AdLib : Murph – It’s much easier than it sounds, just planted something that provided fruit or veggies each year and set up a watering system. Now, it’s little work and a nice variety of organic eats.

  • SallyT : Good night to you, too, Chris!

  • SallyT : Good night Murph!

  • AdLib : Chris – Sleep well and thanks so much for filling us in on the adventures today! Really looking forward to your article! DO get some rest though!

  • AlphaBitch : You got it Chris. Mwah dear ones!

  • MurphTheSurf3 : Ok my dreams of Tony “The Oilman” Scalia await. Night all.

  • AdLib : Night AB, have a great weekend!

  • ChrisR266 : AB: That is a tremendous idea. Let us work on that. He would be so secretly pleased.

  • AdLib : AB – Ass to forehead comb over…THAT is how Trump does it!

  • SallyT : AlphB, you have a good night and will be looking for you later on here somewhere.

  • MurphTheSurf3 : Ad Lib….it is you who are the Farmer, my straw hat and sweat band are off to you…slight but sincere bow….

  • ChrisR266 : I’m out for the evening, too, fair VPites. Thanks for the scintillating conversation this evening. Enjoy your weekend.

  • AlphaBitch : Psst Chris: we should be Funkfans.

  • AlphaBitch : Oh dear Sally!!

  • SallyT : They can do a rectal exam on Scalia from either end.

  • AdLib : Farmer Murph – Love fresh grown strawberries, unlike any bought in a market, they melt in your mouth. We’ve got those, blackberries, boysenberries, and fruit trees, lemon, orange grapefruit, avocado, apple and pomegranate. An artichoke bush and asparagus. Over the years, just kept planting things that produced fruit and now…a little back yard but lots of different things to nibble.

  • ChrisR266 : thanks Murph, I appreciate the thanks. You enjoy your weekend now.

  • AlphaBitch : And I’m following the Funkster and Sue and bidding you all a good night, free of Scalia. Sounds like some sort of medical condition, doesn’t it?

  • ChrisR266 : Good night and weekend, Funk. You know I adore you.

  • SallyT : Good Night Funk! Have missed you!

  • AlphaBitch : Amen, Murph.

  • MurphTheSurf3 : Chris…VERY SPECIAL THANKS TO YOU TONIGHT FOR YOUR OUTSTANDING REPORTING….a great service to all of us who are deeply concerned about the engagement of young people in the political process and the efforts of campaigns to hornswoggle them.

  • funksands : I am being summoned. Good Mitt everyone! See you around soon.

  • AlphaBitch : Once John Hiatt talked of growing older, and how the hair you want recedes, while you start growing hair in the most unlikely places. Like your ass. He said he was going for the largest combover in the world – from ass to forehead.

  • AdLib : AB – Maybe Scalia is so mean because he’s always sleep deprived, his head keeps sliding off the pillow onto the floor every night.

  • funksands : He doesn’t use pillows, simply other heads.

  • MurphTheSurf3 : Ad Lib…I do four kinds of tomatoes, 2 kinds of cucumber, 2 kinds of squash, 3 kinds of peppers, eggplant, and I have a strawberry patch

  • AdLib : AB – Oh yeah, the seasoned pan makes all the difference!

  • AlphaBitch : Funk: What kind of gel stains do you think he leaves on his pillowcases???

  • SallyT : I like Paul but that girl with the glasses, ugh!

  • ChrisR266 : Murph: get your well-earned sleep. Good to converse with you here, and I know you will keep the faith. Enjoy the weekend.

  • AdLib : Sleep well Murph!

  • MurphTheSurf3 : Scalia and his oily hair….you all are going to give me nightmares. Slick Tony…yuck.

  • AlphaBitch : Damn you Funk! I have well seasoned cast iron, which AdLib will vouch is used by NOLA cooks. Don’t besmirch my frying pans!

  • SallyT : Night Sherlock. See you later!

  • AdLib : Murph – Quite a job! We planted our small garden two weeks ago and the seedlings are all up now. Broccoli, corn, peas, beans, watermelon and tomatoes. Not a lot of each but a great variety!

  • ChrisR266 : Oh, now, ick!

  • funksands : Sally, that is a perfect description

  • funksands : If you keep oiling, it eliminates the need to shower. Think of it like seasoning a pan..

  • AlphaBitch : ha Sally!

  • MurphTheSurf3 : Sally….Paul Begala is one of my favorite commenters.

  • ChrisR266 : Funk: Your description of Scalia’s hair sounds like it should be posted on e-bay.

  • SallyT : Scalia looks like death warmed over, frozen, and then micro waved at too high a sitting.

  • AlphaBitch : Sue: nighty night. I will follow soon

  • AlphaBitch : And Funk: the gelatinous goo in his hair is simply body oil? EEWWW – can you imagine having to clean his shower drain??? (Erp)

  • AdLib : Night Sue! Sleep well and seeya over the weekend here!

  • MurphTheSurf3 : I am crashing and burning…put in 1/2 of my garden today…it is a big one and the prep work in the hard clay soil of Mo. is considerable (plus fence repair to keep the rabbits away). Put in 26 plants. 26 more to go. To bed.

  • AlphaBitch : Funk!!!!! Oh wouldn’t that make the Donald so jealous? Scalia does look very much like a throw-back.

  • AlphaBitch : Doesn’t anyone get it that it was Rove who gave us W? WhyTF would we want to buy yet another lemon from him.

  • funksands : AB, Scalia’s hair is simply a shoulder-hair side comb-over. Very rare.

  • SallyT : I watched it Murph and yes it was a good one. AdLib will have to get the Tivo going later.

  • SueInCa : OK you all I am checking out. I have to go read TPM about Chris school see you all over the weekend

  • AlphaBitch : AdLib – so picturesque. Now I’ll hate bowling and mopping.

  • funksands : Murph, I’m watching it in a few

  • SueInCa : Murph will watch at 10 tonite

  • funksands : Ad, its below

  • AdLib : Funk – Please do link here or on TOOT to the time travel Romney video.

  • SueInCa : Jeez you people I could not stand to look at Scalia already now you totally ruined it

  • MurphTheSurf3 : Did anyone see REAL TIME with MAHER tonight….funni est and most on point I have seen in a long time.

  • AdLib : AB – Very cool! Spent a lot of time in NOLA long after I read it and it often came to mind.

  • SueInCa : LOL I tweet that out a few times a day. I love mking fun of rightwingers

  • AdLib : AB – You nailed it on Scalia’s head. Like a bowling ball dipped in an slop bucket with threads of the mop sticking to it.

  • AlphaBitch : Why, Sue – if Mittens says he’s a severe conservative, I take him at THAT word.

  • funksands : Chris, YOUR BEST? Do you accept that from your students????

  • MurphTheSurf3 : Chris….Three Cheers. Hip, hip, hoorah! Hip, hip, hoorah! Hip, hip, hoorah!

  • SueInCa : AHey Alpha

  • ChrisR266 : Murph: I’m going to try to get it done this weekend. I can see it in my head, I just need to find the time to get it done. I’ll do my best.

  • SueInCa : IF Mitt Romney SAYS he is a Christian I take him at his word

  • funksands : Romney travels back in time to kill earlier liberal selves: «link»

  • AlphaBitch : Time travel Romney? Isn’t that an oxymoron (heavy on the moron)?

  • MurphTheSurf3 : Chris…we retired types are really good at assigning work to others….ignore me if the suggestion is too much…BUT if you can…it would be marvelous.

  • AdLib : Bito – It’s time I had a word with your ‘puter!

  • AlphaBitch : You boys all know that it’s way past the AB’s bedtime. She just couldn’t resist….

  • funksands : Anyone seen the Onion video about Time-travel Romney? I literally did a spit take. Let me see if I can find it.

  • AdLib : Hey AB! Great to see ya!

  • AlphaBitch : AdLib: Confederacy of Dunces (Ignatius P.) is MY fave. Chosen for a concept book club at a local restaurant where they prepare food from the region of the book.

  • ChrisR266 : ABitch: Amen on that one, OMFG! Thanks for showing up, I’m crying, I’m laughing so hard.

  • funksands : AB, like a glass of cool water on a hot day. How refreshing to see you m’dear

  • AlphaBitch : Chris: Scalia’s head/hair gel looks like it would make great accelerant….. one huge grease ball, that.

  • AdLib : Funk –

  • AdLib : Chris – Confederacy of Dunces is a big fave of mine! And yes, we are seeing a real life adaptation of the title, at the very least, in the GOP.

  • ChrisR266 : adLib: It will blow up before.

  • AlphaBitch : Back at ya, Chris! And I lubs me some Funk, too. Long time, no party Mistah!

  • ChrisR266 : I so love you Alpha! Thanks.

  • AdLib : Hey Bito! Very cool! Thanks for the info on Romney and bribery in WI. If only this could blow up just after the GOP convention!!!

  • SallyT : Bito, yell back at it!

  • AlphaBitch : Halo, everyone – just read Chris’ report – way to go! Wow and wow. Thanks so much for the Friday thriller. I think I’ll make a new tee shirt (after the “Ask Me About My Abortion” one) that says: Get a job, Mrs. Romney. You need some dignity.

  • ChrisR266 : Murph: If I can get my ass down there and make some contacts with administration, I may be able to do a compare/contrast for that article.

  • bito : I would join in but my ‘puter is yelling “turn me off!” really sluggish Hello everyone

  • AdLib : Funk – Agreed, the Repub legislators have just eased back in their ALEC funded easy chairs and just taken the money and snoozed. However, Choicelady can attest to this, a lot of legislation that is proposed in any state’s legislature is originally drafted by outside groups. Nothing wrong with that but a legislator should be vetting and rewriting a bill they agree with so it is best for their citizens.

  • ChrisR266 : AdLib: I missed that, but I will read it. I do think you are right, but still think it says something about how bankrupt the GOP ideology is in the 21st century.

  • SallyT : Funk

  • MurphTheSurf3 : Chris…ah…got it.

  • ChrisR266 : Murph: He will be at Ohio State on May 5 kicking off his campaign. 20 minutes by highway from us.

  • funksands : Heard at latest Romney fundraiser: “I can’t believe you like money too. We should hang out.”

  • MurphTheSurf3 : Chris…did you say Obama is coming to your campus soon…if so I wonder if you could to do a comparative piece reflecting on the differences in the Romney and Obama events.

  • AdLib : Chris – Don’t know if you read my article last week about the GOP seeing things only as games to win but if you put it in that perspective, things seem to make more sense. The GOP can only win by suppressing Dem voters, spreading lies about Obama because he’s accomplished so much that is popular and energizing their base by attacking blacks, Latinos women, other religions, everyone who the ignorant white males feel threatened by and want to dominate. There is no room for logic or reason in the minds of such people.

  • ChrisR266 : Hi bito

  • SallyT : Hi Bito! Thanks for the info!

  • ChrisR266 : Have y’all read “A confederacy of dunces” by John Kennedy Toole? I feel as if I’ve been watching that novel unfold before our very eyes since 2008.

  • SueInCa : Adlib I think you are right and with (Hey Bito) Obama on the campaign trail he is going to drive them crazy because he can point thes idiots out constantly

  • bito : gulagbound.com/2 9003/investigati on-of-romney-for -bribery-electio n-subterfuge-in- wisconsin-primar y/#.T5tn6dkcCt_

  • funksands : Ad, so true. The CBO and NYTimes are the perfect example of that.

  • bito : UPDATED 8:43pm: Romney Investigated for Bribery & Election SUBterfuge in Wisconsin Primary gulagbound.com/2 9003/investigati on-of-romney-for -bribery-electio n-subterfuge-in- wisconsin-primar y/#.T5tn6dkcCt_ Semms this case is still active in WI

  • AdLib : Sue – When it’s all just a game, there are no principles to stand by. The GOP is literally unprincipled. Catholic bishops complain about providing BC, they should be listened to. They protest the GOP’s attack on the poor, they shouldn’t be listened to. On and on. That’s why I think the Dems should just kick the game board over and expose the GOP for being unprincipled, greedy and power hungry tools who will say and do anything to advance their goals. When you think about it, Romney really is the perfect representative for what the GOP is today.

  • funksands : Anyone else think that the ALEC/Koch law-writing template service is making GOP legislators lazy, unable to govern, and unable to devise effective strategy? I do.

  • SueInCa : Watson you don’t know what I want to do to repugs

  • ChrisR266 : AdLib: I do agree with you, and think the same. But what I just cannot wrap my mind around is the “fact” that there MUST be some brainiac in the house/senate/cam paign who realizes this too? Come on! Idiotic strategic posturing. I just don’t get the idiocy.

  • SallyT : Okay, Sherlock, then the Repugs will say, “we’ll save the women but starve the kids.”

  • funksands : Sue, the GOP is starting to run out of places to find money to patch offsets. The only really bloated place to find money is Defense and they won’t touch it. Discretionary spending is real-dollar flat since 2000.

  • MurphTheSurf3 : I repeat, I think Boehner knows that Romeny is toast so he is going to do everything he can to keep his Speakership, which requires holding the House….there will be a LOT of pandering to that body….”We wanted to provide students with more affordable loans AND get rid of an Obama slush fund….and the Dems stopped us.”

  • AdLib : I’m back! Chris – The House’s latest cynical attempt to poison pill a bill is no so obvious, I don’t know who they think will buy into their BS. Only their shrinking base but they must think most Americans and women are ignorant enough to be manipulated by it. In the end, I think the Senate passes their clean version of it and The House is left to block it or pass it…losing the college vote by bigger margins if blocking it.

  • SueInCa : What effin irony the GOP vote for a student bill but attack women what next vote for a woman’s bill and attack student funding? WTF is wrong with those people?

  • MurphTheSurf3 : Chris…there is a senate measure but it is different than the House and it has not come up for a vote- very different funding mechanism. «link»

  • SallyT : Murph, the Repugs are saying, Okay, the kids can have low interest rates on school loans but we will kill the women!

  • funksands : Murph, they didn’t read the bill. They couldn’t have. They voted their dogma without reading the bill.

  • SueInCa : maybe it was vawa

  • ChrisR266 : Funk: Bwaaaahahahahaha ! You made me guffaw! That is so unlady-like for me, LMAO!

  • MurphTheSurf3 : Sue…don’t think so. Would they really ok the cut in funds for women’s health…and big ones to pay for this.

  • funksands : No offense. ;-)

  • funksands : I’m sorry. The Buckeyes suck ass.

  • SueInCa : Murph I thought the senate voted today too?

  • ChrisR266 : Funk: generally, yes I am. Thus the postings of OH-IO.

  • MurphTheSurf3 : Chris…the student loan vote is another GOP ploy…it will be stopped in the Senate or by the President….fir ming up their out-of-their-min ds base….I am convinced that Boehner and the GOP insiders know Romney is a goner…so today was about holding the House and his speakership. What an ass.

  • SueInCa : That is funny I told my grandson if he watched a bit of football he could consider it sunday school

  • funksands : Chris, are you a Buckeyes fan?

  • ChrisR266 : Sue: Bwaaahahaha! in our house, Sundays are worship services to the gods of turf management

  • SueInCa : Chris I think Obama may make some noise about veto what the hell will they do when and if Scotus strikes down the HC bill

  • funksands : Anyone know why Stafford loans are charging 6.8% anyway? I’d thought the govt. rates would be better?

  • funksands : Anyone know why s

  • ChrisR266 : All: I am curious, though, what all thought about the vote in the House today. Student loan interest stays down for another year, but women can forget about help with preventative health care…

  • SallyT : How sad for her, Funk!

  • SueInCa : Heck Watson I meant wear. Chris my husband is baseball and football only I call sundays here the church of football

  • funksands : Why Sally, I never../.

  • SallyT : Funk, fun for you but how was it for her?

  • MurphTheSurf3 : Chris…sounds as if you have a handle on this and I will take your direction in regards to tossing a big rock in the listserv pond

  • SueInCa : He watches Giants not SanDiego they are just helping the Giants get excercise

  • ChrisR266 : Sue: This is the only time of the year that my husband isn’t doing the same. I get a reprieve until August.

  • SueInCa : Well Watson I do were no line bifocals

  • funksands : San Diego? Geez, I’d be asleep in 10 minutes watching the Padres play.

  • SallyT : Sherlock, you aren’t lame, just farsighted.

  • funksands : Some would call it fun….

  • SueInCa : My husband is being a sofa coach for the Giants SanDiego game again

  • AdLib : Friend at the door, BRB!

  • AdLib : Hey Funk! Long time no see!

  • ChrisR266 : Murph: You know, I’ve already made my name around these parts, if they want to come after me, they’ve had ample opportunity to do so. And, they’ve tried, but I’m clean. So that is not my concern.

  • SallyT : Funk, you haven’t been around for awhile. Having fun?

  • funksands : Hi Murph! Miz Sally…

  • MurphTheSurf3 : Night KT

  • MurphTheSurf3 : Funk…just love typing that name.

  • SallyT : Ok, you can go KT. Funk is here and he usually keeps me busy.

  • funksands : Hi Chris / Sue!

  • SueInCa : Watson I am lame like tha

  • MurphTheSurf3 : Chris…maybe you could write the article under Anonymous? I know campus politics and if this thing becomes hot I would not want you on the grill.

  • SallyT : Well, Sherlock, I have to kept track of KT for one thing. And why the hell can’t you finish a sentence?

  • ChrisR266 : Funk!

  • SueInCa : Now Bashir I love hey funk

  • ChrisR266 : Murph: Those are my views of choice, as well

  • funksands : Howdy everyone.

  • MurphTheSurf3 : Ad Lib..I watch Press in the AM, Bashir, Maddow, O’Donnell, and Granholm pretty regularly.

  • ChrisR266 : Murph: Let me think on that. I’ll let you know, for sure.

  • SueInCa : Watson whats it to you? LOL I just had to do tha

  • ChrisR266 : Good to talk with you , KT. Enjoy the weekend.

  • SueInCa : Nite KT have a peaceful sleep

  • SallyT : KT, where are you going?

  • KillgoreTrout : Well Planeteers, sleep tight and don’t let the bed bugs bite. It’s been an enjoyable evening.

  • MurphTheSurf3 : Chris…if you post an article I could pass it on to my contact and suggest it go to the listserv…IF you think this would ok.

  • SueInCa : No problem Murph I am always glad to do a write up on them

  • AdLib : Murph – Its no reflection on te Current TV lineup but I’m kind of burned out on tv news talk hosts, just so much babble and repetition on MSNBC it’s burned me out for the time being. When I get it out of my system, I’ll check out Current TV more often. I am glad they’re doing fine after KO quit. He’s ruined his career, as he’s been trying to do throughout most of it. Tired of him and his ego.

  • ChrisR266 : As I’m thinking about it, I recall that in 2008, the GOP candidate stuck mainly to private campuses, as well. Chickens they all are.

  • MurphTheSurf3 : Sue…I will contact AdLib…I need help on this…I do not have the depth of background and it is a difficult topic. Only the right seems to be able to talk about religion with impunity. But you do it very well.

  • ChrisR266 : Murph: ok. thanks.

  • SueInCa : Heck adlib it turned out to be a funny dream in retrorespect I will put it in OT sometime this weekend. Everyone will get a laugh especially when I write on the RR all the time

  • MurphTheSurf3 : Chris…I don’t have access to it, but I know those who do…will followup

  • KillgoreTrout : Thanks Murph!

  • ChrisR266 : Murph: spill. what’s the list serve?

  • MurphTheSurf3 : KT….wonderful

  • AdLib : Sue – Sorry you’re night’s sleep was disrupted by the evil behind the Romney team. My prescription is take one Obama speech before bedtime.

  • SueInCa : Murph I would you can get my email from Adlib and give me a bit more of an idea where you are taking this. In a nutshell he is going to have a hard time

  • ChrisR266 : AdLib: will try to do. I’m going to try to get it done this weekend, as things will be crazy next week or two.

  • KillgoreTrout : Murph, The Planet Kolub POV?

  • SallyT : No problem AdLib. I enjoy doing it. But one of these nights you are going to have to give me a ride home.

  • AdLib : Sally – Appreciate your closing the bar with me most nights!

  • KillgoreTrout : Sue, gotta keep that fire burning!

  • MurphTheSurf3 : SueinCa…as part of your religion insights series…would you ever think of putting together something re. the likely and real world influence of Romney’s LDS life as a top ranking leader in the denomination affecting his presidency?

  • SueInCa : Kt I think they will eventually

  • KillgoreTrout : The Obama camp should bring back the theme “FIRED UP and READY TO GO!”

  • MurphTheSurf3 : Chris and AdLib…there is a campus administrators network (large listserv) which such an article would really inform…..

  • SueInCa : Adlib he owns so much and keeps hidden that is scary

  • AdLib : Chris – Great photos and comparison. Would love to post that at The Planet…maybe in your article?

  • SueInCa : Miller was awkward Bill was pretty go the time I watched them

  • AdLib : Sue – I know who Anschutz is and his having control over NBC only makes things worse.

  • MurphTheSurf3 : Has anyone tuned in to current for Bill Press or Stephanie Miller in the AM…along with Spitzer and Granholm Current is recovering nicely from the Olberman debacle…IMO

  • SallyT : Hi and bye Sabreen???? Hope to spend more time with you later on here.

  • SueInCa : LATER SABEEN

  • AdLib : Night Sabreen! Have a nice weekend!

  • KillgoreTrout : Take it easy Sabreen.

  • SallyT : I here to help you, AdLib, at closing.

  • ChrisR266 : Have a relaxing weekend, Sabreen.

  • ChrisR266 : Sally: Hi girl. Yes, I agree you are correct.

  • Sabreen60 : Hi Sally. Geez, I got called to the phone and forgot my manners. I’m gonna run guys, take care and hope to run into you on Twitter, here or somewhere this week :-)

  • AdLib : Hey Sally!

  • SallyT : Chris, those two crowds show also a difference in the color and I notice that there are more girls behind Obama than Romney.

  • MurphTheSurf3 : Ad Lib..after the Scarborough show this morning with Mika playing Tinkerbell to his Peter Pan….I wrote a scathing note to MSNBC and then called them. Scarborough spent 40 minutes mocking Obama’s foreign policy credentials and Bidens speech from yesterday. When he was joined by Joe Klein who took him on, Scarborough cut the segment short.

  • SueInCa : Chris I cannot wait to read that TPM Thanks Adlib I worked hard on them. I seem to keep going to the dark side I hd a bad dream last nite after researching the OAK iNITIATIVE

  • ChrisR266 : It’s intersting. Some students are trying to defray the impact of the two photos, as if the “mainstream media”were trying to make the Otterbein kids “look bored.” It’s all about saving face now, you know.

  • SallyT : Hi there KT!

  • AdLib : Sue – Excellent! Great timing for the 2nd part of your Romney series. BTW, I spoke with a very politically minded friend who I have been trying to encourage to visit The Planet more and he told me he read your first Romney article and really appreciated it. So passing along the props.

  • KillgoreTrout : AH, Sally has come down from the balcony! What’s up?

  • SueInCa : does everyone know who anschutz is?

  • SallyT : Chris it opened for me and that is good! The crowds do show a difference!

  • ChrisR266 : Sue: I don’t know. I suspect that they knew they couldn’t jump through OSU’s hoops, so they pinned us since McCain had come in 2008, and thought we’d be easy pickings.

  • SueInCa : chris it did adlib since anschutz bought nbc it has been slowly turning right

  • MurphTheSurf3 : Chris…it did..

  • KillgoreTrout : Chris, it worked for me. Quite a telling set of photos.

  • ChrisR266 : Let me know if that link I just inserted opens up.

  • AdLib : Sue – So true, it’s still a little hard for many to accept that news channels, even MSNBC, are intentionally manipulating what they broadcast as “news” to advance the interests of the corporations that own them. But it’s true. They did indeed act as collaborators with the Tea Party…CNN even partnered with the Tea Party for debates! Partnered! They absolutely can’t be trusted to expose lies, whether they’re aware of them or not.

  • ChrisR266 : «link»

  • SueInCa : chris how did theypick your university

  • SueInCa : well that was dumb i am writing in the dark lol romney staff information

  • ChrisR266 : The kids everyone is spouting about as not being as excited and engaged as they were in 08 will come out and vote. And I can tell you right now who they’ll be voting for. It ain’t going to be Romney.

  • SueInCa : I am working on the 2 piece to romney

  • KillgoreTrout : Chris, some links just won’t work on Vox Populi. I had trouble with them last week. They will still be there tomorrow on PPOV’s regular pages.

  • AdLib : Chris – Fantastic! Really looking forward to your article on this!

  • AdLib : Sue – Yep, I have really given up on watching much cable news including MSNBC. Maddow is still good and I like Bashir but Matthews is such a hack now, shilling for the “make the race close” meme.

  • SueInCa : Look how long it took for media to show Tbaggers were getting noone to their rallies and only after CNN got called out on their own lie about participants did they tell the truth

  • ChrisR266 : They work for me, of course, LOL>

  • ChrisR266 : I’m sorry I can’t get these links to open up. But, I will try to get a story up this weekend.

  • MurphTheSurf3 : Chris…sorry the fb link and address not working, but we are getting the picture and you did a fantastic back story job…please do an article for us….it will be well read and used.

  • ChrisR266 : AdLib: Agreed. Only some of the “inside the beltway” pundits

  • SueInCa : Adlib I am not paying much attention to any of them. They all have shown how weak they are

  • AdLib : Chris – And one of the MSM’s BS memes, in their desperation to make it a nail biter of a race is to say, “Well, if unemployment stays high or the recovery slows, Obama is in big trouble.” Just because voters are displeased with a slow recovery…it doesn’t mean they’re going to blindly vote for the guy who will drive the recovery off a cliff.

  • SueInCa : KT i would agree

  • MurphTheSurf3 : Sue…just read the TPM story….great. I am going to have to come back and mine this entire thread.

  • SueInCa : Yes Murph that was the pic showing both

  • KillgoreTrout : The GOP has spent the last several years alienating at least half of all Americans. More if you include women who under assault from the “moral majority.” I remeber a bumperstick from a couple of decades ago the read “The Moral Majority is Neither.”

  • ChrisR266 : try this: www.facebook.com /photo.php?fbid= 3871260062405&se t=a.297258787616 2.2157096.130572 2950&type=1&ref= nf Let’s hope it’s not locked down.

  • MurphTheSurf3 : Sue…saw the link and went to it, TP story, yes?

  • SueInCa : Murph check my link below about Chris school

  • ChrisR266 : AdLib: Exactly. The PTB are going to try to make this a race, but the race is all but over. People of the groups you just listed don’t forget. And, they vote on what they remember.

  • KillgoreTrout : Exactly Ad. I just read today that Latino voters in Fla. are not too thrilled with Romney.

  • MurphTheSurf3 : Chris….your link is not working at FB

  • SueInCa : «link» It was TP

  • AdLib : Despite the MSM push to make it a close race, how close can this race really get when young voters, women, Latinos, AAs, just about every major demo is heavily weighted against him?

  • ChrisR266 : Thanks, Murph. Fundamentalist and/or evangelical we are not! But hoodwinked (and somewhat hogtied) I think we were.

  • MurphTheSurf3 : Bye Bourne….the discussion was about Romney but from a totally unexpected angle….

  • KillgoreTrout : I don’t think I could eat a bite with Romney at the table.

  • MurphTheSurf3 : Chris I was having some “bad thoughts” about your school today when I first saw the coverage (thinking Evangelical Fundamentalist Clonetank) and then I read up on it….SO GLAD that you were here tonight…I have pass the link to this discussion on two five other “professors” and we have all pledged to let our campuses know about the game that was played. My question, will the story become a big story when it says so much about the inner workings of this liar’s campaign.

  • ChrisR266 : «link»

  • ChrisR266 : I have three of the students who ate lunch with Romney as well as 5 more that were invited to the roundtable and “lecture” in classes on Monday. I can’t wait to hear what they have to say about it all.

  • SueInCa : Both go to blank fb

  • ChrisR266 : Sue: YEP!

  • SueInCa : Chris is this your school? «link»

  • ChrisR266 : «link»

  • ChrisR266 : Everybody, click on the link I just posted. It summarizes the day, exactly.

  • KillgoreTrout : Enjoy you’re evening Bourne. Nice to have you with us.

  • AdLib : Chris – That link didn’t work, can you try again?

  • ChrisR266 : Got it, Sue: «link»

  • ChrisR266 : Sue: I saw that! I’ll see if I can get back to that, too.

  • AdLib : Night Bourne, have a great weekend!

  • BourneID : Everyone…been interesting. I’m leaving in abut 10 minutes; saying good night now.

  • SueInCa : Adlib how can they when they lie too?

  • KillgoreTrout : chris, I am glad to hear that. The Dispatch could use some unbiased journalism for a change. They were practically married to Bush.

  • SueInCa : Chris that does not surprise me at all TPm had a pic today contrasting Obma and Romney with college crowds I will go get it and post it here it is hilarious

  • BourneID : We;; tjeu gpt what he paid for – we’ll have to wait and see.

  • ChrisR266 : We shouldn’t even be arguing this. It IS all about the fact that there’s a black guy in the White House.

  • AdLib : Bourne – I wonder…a majority of Repubs still wish they had a different candidate. I don’t see the Repub pundits supporting Romney as much as I see them saying, “We need to beat Obama.” I’d propose that the Repub voters just want Obama out but not as much, Romney in.

  • ChrisR266 : KT: Yes, me, too. At least at first. But he is the first one to admit that he had “forgot” about that part of himself and it reared its head like a titan this year. He actually had the kids working on the statewide “open records” check with staff from papers all over the state, and he got them to do their own expose on campus police policies and exemptions that ran in other college newspapers all over the state. Can’t say his name here, but he’s the editor married to one of the editors in the life and style section of the CD.

  • KillgoreTrout : Ad, I truly believe that. The GOPer leaders can’t be overtly racist, but it just kills them to know they have an Afro American in the white house. They don’t call it the WHITE house for nuthin!

  • BourneID : The voting repubs believe him; the average guy who thnks a cEO of a corp is a perfect fit for the WH. They count much

  • AdLib : Do you think most Repubs know that Romney is a compulsive liar?

  • AdLib : Bourne – I don’t know, I don’t think even most Repubs agree with Romney. They just want their team to win and they want the black man out of the White House.

  • KillgoreTrout : Chris, the dispatch has a “maverick editor?” Wow, that surprises me a great deal.

  • AdLib : Chris – Don’t know if you saw my comment below but any chance you could write an article recapping what happened before, during and after Romney’s visit to yous campus?

  • ChrisR266 : Sue: That bus in wasn’t here, but they did have to bring in the community because the students and faculty wouldn’t attend. That was another shit show, I can tell you.

  • SueInCa : I think romney is having the same problem

  • BourneID : Adlib most people who agree with Romney are not in disbelief about anything he does; they’re in disbelief that we don’t get it. As to not using the student – not nice but the most effective way toadvertise how incompetent one is

  • AdLib : Sue – Yes, I remember and even so, he had smaller turnouts than Palin’s speeches! What an embarrassment!

  • ChrisR266 : Murph: Yeah, we do, thanks. And, it’s working. We actually hired a maverick editor from the Columbus Dispatch to advise the newspaper this year. It has been absolutely fantastic. He has claimed nirvana experience this year with the kids (I think all editors secretly aspire to get back to their young gun roots), and the kids did some fantastic work this year. It’s been great.

  • SueInCa : Adlib remember when McCain had all thos students bussed in to make his crowd look better?

  • AdLib : Chris – I have absolutely nothing against any school allowing Romney to speak on their campus. My issue is the same as yours and the sharp students there, that a university shouldn’t take orders from a campaign to act as an arm of its campaign and compromise its own integrity in the process, just to host a candidate. I accept that the President was played by Romney’s campaign and had the best of intentions. Most people are in disbelief at the lengths Romney’s campaign goes to when it comes to being deceitful and she wouldn’t be the first to underestimate him.

  • SueInCa : Occupy sure is hitting Wells Fargo hard that shareholders meeting was a mess

  • MurphTheSurf3 : Chris….can’t wait to view it….love student efforts…and when they integrate with wider campus efforts….you actually have the basis for a learning community.

  • ChrisR266 : Murph: we merged the media with 360 two years ago. It’s working very well, and encouraging a barrel of collaboration among leaders of all three media arms. It’s been a real epiphany for the students, and for us. Just a bitch to get off the ground.

  • MurphTheSurf3 : Chris….been there….done that…and it still pisses me off

  • Sabreen60 : Murph, I believe the retired colonel used the word “lunacy” when referring to the Repub candidates.

  • ChrisR266 : Murph: You speaketh truth.

  • AdLib : Sabreen – Yes, the “too cool” attack is as lame as McCain’s 2008 “He’s a clebrity” attack. They have nothing but the nasty and the lie, some are very lame like this one. Remember, their one and only tactic is to churn out negativity daily on anything Obama does. They think that will bring down Obama’s numbers but as we saw in the GOP Promaries, it will sink Romney even deeper.

  • SueInCa : They just made him more personable the one you DO want to have a drink with

  • MurphTheSurf3 : Chris….thank you…I think I may have a new bookmark.

  • KillgoreTrout : Sue the GOPers are labeling Obama as a “celebrity president.” You know how terrible those left wing celebrities are! LOL!

  • ChrisR266 : Murph: www.otterbein360 .com Most all of the penned articles are here. I know they’re probably still editing audio and video, so it might not be up yet.

  • SueInCa : I thought the cool ad was a great one for Obama

  • MurphTheSurf3 : Chris….why Bd of Trustees do not like faculties….you all think…really think….they love buildings….no thinking

  • KillgoreTrout : Sabreen, “being cool,” something that Romney will ever be accused of.

  • ChrisR266 : AdLib: We have a relatively new University President (her third year), and I think she genuinely thought this might be good for the campus re exposure. It was, although in a way she did not forsee. We’ll see if she’s learned anything from this. Remember, we’re a private, Methodist affiliated (loosely) institution, and the BoT is a politically conservative lot.

  • MurphTheSurf3 : Sabreen…retire d Col who was on Colin Powell’s staff and is a lifetime GOPer who is really ticked off with his party…

  • Sabreen60 : …I’ve MISSED you. I must proof before I click “Send”.

  • Sabreen60 : Thanks for the welcome guys. I’ve you the last couple of weeks. I have been fascinated (?) with the crying and whining coming from Romney and his camp. Have you seen the ad that depicts the President as being too cool? Also, did anyone catch the retired colonel on Schultz’s show? I usually don’t watch, but this was a damn good segment.

  • AdLib : Killgore – Bingo! Wall Street just wants a tool in the White House that they can use to get what they want, not someone with a mind of their own and principles that could get in their way. And if anyone is a tool, it’s Romney.

  • MurphTheSurf3 : Chris LINK please to your campus newspaper and the editorial….I really want to pass this on….

  • ChrisR266 : Suffice it to say that the whole day was a debacle for the Romney campaign (although I don’t think they know this at all). Our kids were all over social media tweeting, posting, commenting, uploading photos, and generally making good old liberal nuisances of themselves. I couldn’t have been prouder. Further, after the event, one of the editorial staff posted an opinion piece, well argued, that posited that Romney was “wholly unprepared to be President of the U.S.” I was so proud!

  • AdLib : Chris – It sounds like the dishonesty of the Romney campaign simply acted like The Blob and engulfed the unsuspecting school. All their lies were taken on good faith and unwittingly, the school admin became megaphones for lies and deceit. Or did some rationalize that all this dishonesty was just the way political campaigns have to be…and something they have to conform to? And I’m referring solely to the Admin who passed all the requests and lies down.

  • KillgoreTrout : Hey Sabreen! Glad to “see you.”

  • MurphTheSurf3 : Ad Lib…I think the O campaign needs to say what you are saying: Romney is a liar….not a flip flopper, not an etch a sketcher, not a pragmatist….an outright liar….

  • ChrisR266 : Sabreen: That was the holy hell cap to what was a sham of a pseudoevent. I watched our kids’ faces when he said that. What an unequivocal ass he is!

  • KillgoreTrout : I get a feeling that the GOP doesn’t really want a smart president. I think they want anouthe GW Bush type, so they can easily manipulate his strings.

  • AdLib : Hey Sabreen! Welcome!

  • AdLib : KT and Sue – Agreed, Obama and his team will decimate ROmney in debates because all he has is lies. They had better have Obama well prepared for all nature of lies Romney will deliver because that would seem to be the strategy, flood Obama with so many lies about him that he won’t have the time to knock them all down.

  • ChrisR266 : AdLib: Indeed, it was. And, as it played out today, it was wholly offensive to just about every constituency on campus. The worst of it is, Westerville (where we are) is Kasich’s old congressional district. People didn’t think through the fact that he was probably going to show up, too. I got a text from a dear faculty friend during the event, she was describing to me the stunning moment of looking out her office window and realizing the “cleaning service” she was told would be on the roof of the next building was in actuality SS snipers, and they were looking right at her, LMAO!

  • KQµårk 死神 : How could either side really trust Romney at this point?

  • BourneID : Chris Bourne again Send my thanks to all the students at your university for helping keep attentio on what an ass Romney and his handlers are. Handlers are amateurs. This is the kind of stuff that brings people down. You don’t mess with young, smart college kids.

  • Sabreen60 : Hiya folks. I’ve read all the comments and I’m looking forward to hearing some more Chris! I did hear Romney tell students to ask “Mom and Dad” for money. So a kid is going to ask for $25k and up for undergrad and $200k for med school and the average middle class mom & dad will just write a check. What a douche.

  • KQµårk 死神 : That is interesting Sue. I thought Freep would go for Romney at least for his hawkish ways.

  • SueInCa : According to Daily KOs yes BRB

  • AdLib : Sue – Very interesting, FREEP isn’t endorsing Romney?

  • ChrisR266 : All: I could write a post, I suppose. I was so hot about it all by this afternoon, I just couldn’t talk without cussing and swearing.

  • KillgoreTrout : I agree KQ. If he is the best they have, then they are in real trouble as a political party.

  • SueInCa : BRB

  • ChrisR266 : So, My seniors come to class at noon, pissed about all the students who had been summarily “unvited” to the event, some who were still invited all dressed in formal business attire because they were told to do so, expecting this huge roundtable session about “higher education issues.

  • AdLib : Chris – This whole event has to be so offensive to those professors teaching journalism. They spend their time teaching the ethics and principles of journalism then Romney descends on the campus and through his actions, tells them that freedom of the press and allowing the press to report the truth is obscured by the powerful.

  • KQµårk 死神 : KT I’ve never seen a candidate be so negative all the time. Usually a candidate, especially a candidate who is not an incumbent starts out with a positive case to vote FOR them. Even Repugs quietly hate Romney’s campaign.

  • MurphTheSurf3 : Chris, I was very involved with the Obama campaign in ’08- our staging of campus events was all about where do we find enough signs and how do you keep the kids from interrupting him with cheers and shout outs.

  • SueInCa : Romney’s policy cash in a trust account

  • KillgoreTrout : Romney’s education policy….borrow money from your parents.

  • SueInCa : Chris is sounds like a gigantic mess

  • KillgoreTrout : Same here Sue. Take away Romney’s lies, and he is as naked as a newborn babe. Obama will decimate him.

  • MurphTheSurf3 : Ad Lib and Chris…..yes. Please do an article….this would be so valuable.

  • ChrisR266 : AdLib: No, they brought in GOP “dignitaries” from the central OHIO community to listen to the lecture along with the kids. It wasn’t a lecture, it was a campaign speech kicking off his education platform.

  • KQµårk 死神 : Chris I second that humble request.

  • AdLib : Chris – Could I convince you to write a post about what happened today with Romney on your campus?

  • BourneID : Chris Are Romney’s handlers just plain stuid and rude or are they afraid the students are going to ask questions he can’t answer.

  • KQµårk 死神 : AdLib before RW radio, corporate media and Faux News a presidential candidate would never get away with lying the way Romney does. He makes Nixon look like a truth teller.

  • SueInCa : Oh KT i cannot wait for thos debates you know how Obama prepares he will kill him

  • ChrisR266 : Now, after all this crap, the President of the University finally makes a formal announcement this a.m. that Candidate Romney is visiting campus to hold and “education roundtable” and give a “guest lecture” to an ecomonics class (which we now know was the “request” by the Romney campaign staff.

  • KillgoreTrout : Ad, I don’t think Romney will get away with lying in the presidential debates, like he did in the GOP primary debates.

  • MurphTheSurf3 : Chris….knew that….just got excited….doing three things at once.

  • SueInCa : Adlib free republic made a stmt he would not allow romney followers to post on his site

  • AdLib : Chris – So were the uninvited the ones who didn’t fit the rigged requirements or did they cancel the “lecture”?

  • SueInCa : Adlib

  • ChrisR266 : Murph: fyi, I’m a she. Not to worry, not bothered by it.

  • SueInCa : Chris so was it a mess sounds like it

  • AdLib : KQ – ROmney is the most obvious liar I’ve ever seen run for public office. I simply don’t believe he can ever escape the cumulative negativity that most Americans feel towards him as a dishonest douche.

  • SueInCa : Bourne That is great I met one from half moon and one from SF on twitter

  • ChrisR266 : It was so bad at one point, that our campus student media were told that they would not be issued credentials to cover the event! Thank goodness that many of them were also on the list of “invited, employed graduating seniors” who were going to be at the event anyway, and did not get disinvited. Our Media advisor threw a fit and the students were issued credentials this morning.

  • SueInCa : Not much all I bet the visit was not all that well attended

  • BourneID : Hi SueinCA How are you. I met 7 fellow Caifornians this week; 2 from Sacramento.

  • KQµårk 死神 : Great to see you Sue!

  • MurphTheSurf3 : Hey Sue….Chris is telling us about Romney at his University today…absolute ly fascinating

  • KillgoreTrout : Sue is in da house! What’s up?

  • ChrisR266 : AdLib: that’s the thing: the people charged with the inviting were not told for what they were inviting the students! Then, when they were told to send out the “un-invites,” they found out what was going on.

  • KQµårk 死神 : AdLib Romney is running not just lying but runs as opaque a campaign as he can. FFS he even edits editorials that choose him.

  • AdLib : Hey Sue! Nice to see ya!

  • KillgoreTrout : Doing great Chris, hope the same for you.

  • SueInCa : Hi there how is every1 tonite?

  • ChrisR266 : Hi Kilgore! How are you dear sir?

  • ChrisR266 : The event was not open to any other faculty, staff, students, or administration on campus. Closed to the public as well. By Thursday evening, some invited students started receiving “unvited” e-mails from the organizers, telling them that they would no longer be needed to attend the roundtable or the “lecture” to follow.

  • AdLib : Chris – Is that ethical for your school to “cast” a slanted audience for Romney? Kids who don’t have jobs lined out were barred? What’s up with that?

  • KQµårk 死神 : Yeah I’m pretty proud of the little sucker.

  • KillgoreTrout : Chris, I hope they all had a little Dramamine with them.

  • ChrisR266 : By Thursday afternoon, a number of students had been invited by e-mail to attend a “roundtable session” with Romney about education issues, and then a larger speech with Romney, Kasich, and an invited group of guests.

  • KQµårk 死神 : It’s really Obama and a few left leaning pundits that have not joined the outrage train against a whole MSM and right wing infrastructure.

  • MurphTheSurf3 : Chris….go for it….I will cut and paste the whole thing later…wonderfu l.

  • KillgoreTrout : I guess the RWs are slamming Obama for being “cool.” Well, that’s one thing they’ll never have to worry about with Romney. Every time he tries to “be cool,” he falls flat on his face.

  • AdLib : KQ – Very cool, cheers and props to your nephew and your sister for helping make it a reality!

  • AdLib : KQ – So true. This last week there was a concerted meme from the MSM on Obama being mean towards Romney! Huh? Where’s the “Romney’s lying again because his lips are moving” meme from the MSM? One candidate plainly lies and attacks falsely non-stop and the other candidate responds with honest attacks back…but because he’s the favorite, Obama is “mean”.

  • KQµårk 死神 : On foreign policy the Romney team is even worse. They seriously think we are still in the cold war with ‘the Soviets’ and ‘Czechoslovakia ‘.

  • ChrisR266 : AdLib: ok, I’ll do it in spurts. I’m on the faculty, Communication Department. Been her 22 years. We have majors in Comm studies, Broadcasting, Journalism, Public Relations. Damned well respected. The Faculty as a whole got this cryptic e-mail Wednesday afternoon from Career planning services office, asking us to recommend “graduating seniors who had already secured employment” for an event happening on campus on Friday. That was it. Of course a number of us sent in names, as our kids are getting jobs. Most of them have jobs secured. The next day, in the Columbus Dispatch, is an article about Obama kicking off his campaign at OSU on the 5th, and at the e3nd, a blurb about Romney coming to Otterbein on Friday. The campus at large had not yet been told of the event.

  • KillgoreTrout : Murph, I think it’a hilarious!

  • MurphTheSurf3 : KT Nugent is a worm and someone dropped a rock on him. Good

  • BourneID : Agree Murph. The beginning of a long line of disgusting, completely disconnected understandig of people.

  • KillgoreTrout : I see Teddy boy is upset that Ft. Knox cancelled hi upcoming gig. As uausual he is whining about the 1st amemendment. RWs just never seem to understand how the 1st amendment actually works.

  • AdLib : Bourne – And Romney has a $200 million trust set up for his kids, he just doesn’t understand why all parents don’t do that for their kids.

  • KQµårk 死神 : At least my little nephew (sorry not cousin) is doing a good thing and started a sustainable organic farm.

  • MurphTheSurf3 : Bourne…the one dollar story is horrid….I need to add that to my Romney file….gross really….demean ing and stingy.

  • AdLib : Chris – Yes, please do recount the K-Sick/R-Money debacle out there today!

  • ChrisR266 : Well, I don’t think you have to worry about all the young voters in Central Ohio after today, Romney blew it big time. Colossal.

  • AdLib : Killgore – Heh!

  • KQµårk 死神 : I’m so tired too of people complaining about Dems not getting out the message. When are people going to realize the MSM is now as rigged as much against the Dems as the rest of the system is rigged against workers.

  • KillgoreTrout : Ad, definitely. No surprise for sure. I just find it amazing how they can do a perfect 180 whatever the occasion/issue.

  • BourneID : Last year, when Romney was at a outdoor fund raising event in a small community, a family that had lost their job was talking to him. Their little boy was with them. Romney took out his wallet, searched through a pretty sizable pack of bills, fond a $1.00 biill and gave it to the boy. That speaks to me of his character. So borrow money from your parents is pretty grandiose suggestion.

  • AdLib : KQ – Love that “borrow” quote from Romney. It’s as bad as saying, “Just ask your father to use his political contacts and money to get you into Harvard.”

  • AdLib : Killgore – Yep but that’s what they’ve been doing for a long time. Think back to the Bush Admin and their accusing Dems and all their adversaries as dangerous and unAmerican while they were spying on Americans and secretly torturing people.

  • KQµårk 死神 : My cousin was lucking to do just that but only because my sister-in-law inherited from her parents a little nest egg. But few are as lucky as my cousin to have parents about to shell out six figures.

  • KillgoreTrout : The Flat Earth Society has a film out now called “Across the World in 80 days. ;)

  • ChrisR266 : Ok, I’m back. Sorry about the interruption. Haven’t been home at 10 on a friday lately, so I wasn’t anticipating that. Want some dirt on today?

  • KQµårk 死神 : How about Romney’s recent tone dead comment. Just ‘borrow money from your parents, start a business’ to paraphrase.

  • AdLib : Bourne – Lundgren probably squeezed in that meeting after chairing the Flat Earth Society convention that day.

  • KillgoreTrout : Ad, they are talking all the patriotic crappola, but defend a guy who disses the CIC!

  • MurphTheSurf3 : Bourne…all that is recounted is that he was embedded in the GOP staff in the House. How? Don’t know.

  • BourneID : Murph, did Draper say how he got the info?

  • KQµårk 死神 : Usually the recounting of events in such books are the best reading Murph.

  • AdLib : Killgore – Why should we ever be surprised when Repubs howl in feigned outrage at anything and everything, no matter how unAmerican or hypocritical? I’d be surprised if they didn’t magnify and warp everything Obama does.

  • KQµårk 死神 : Good to official meet you too Bourn though I like the comments I’ve seen from you.

  • MurphTheSurf3 : KQ…his description of that night and that dinner is gripping.

  • KillgoreTrout : Hey Sally, you in da house?

  • KQµårk 死神 : I’m not surprised Murph. To be honest I stopped read pol books because they are always old news and rarely offer insight.

  • BourneID : KQ I haven’t met you but I’m glad you brought up the Draper book. I am fascinated by it. My rep, Lundgren, was at the meeting. Time to say goodbye to him.

  • MurphTheSurf3 : KQ…the draper book is just ok….lots of filler….and not the best writing….but it is ALL worthwhile for the story of that dinner on inauguration night when our elected leaders entered into a conspiracy to overturn an election.

  • AdLib : KQ – Yep, I remember those discussions. There was no need to keep that conspiracy of blocking Obama a secret, they wanted all in the GOP to know what they were doing and support them. It was no secret, DeMint made it clear at the outset.

  • KillgoreTrout : I was on a thread earlier, about the Marine that got booted for dissing Obama on FB. Of course the righties blamed Obama. What a bunch of douches.

  • MurphTheSurf3 : Chris…great, waiting with bated breath…..does that mean it smells of worms.

  • ChrisR266 : Hi KQ! be right back.

  • ChrisR266 : Murph: I got to answer the phone, and then I’ll return tout suite and spill the gory details. It’s unbelievable, even to cynical me.

  • MurphTheSurf3 : KT…good to see you

  • KQµårk 死神 : AdLib I’m sure you remember when the Planet started we talked about woo woos and conspiracies. My contention was all conspiracies are more or less know. Now Robert Draper has come out with a book that said GOP leaders met near the inauguration and their only goal was to get back into power through obstruction. The real sad part is these open conspiracies work.

  • KillgoreTrout : Hey Murph and Quark!

  • AdLib : Hey KQ! Great to see ya!

  • MurphTheSurf3 : Chris…YES,YES, YES, Details….I am a retired college professor and my inquiring mind wants to know.

  • ChrisR266 : Murph: WE all saw the same coverage, ha! So did the world! that made my day. It’s a story that has lots of detail, so you all know if and or when you want details tonight.

  • KQµårk 死神 : Hey folks.

  • MurphTheSurf3 : CHris….watched the whole thing….those young people looked SOOOOOO bored and listless. A few times, as when he said they should borrow their college tuition from mom and dad, there were many rolling eyes and sidelong glances….who got those poor kids there?

  • ChrisR266 : AdLib: I left at 2 because I wanted to watch coverage. I live about 3 miles away, and it was a much less f’d up place to be.

  • AdLib : Chris – K-Sick and R-Money on a double bill? You must have a cast iron stomach.

  • AdLib : Chris – Oh! I was out of pocket most of the day. Who sanitized the campus after ROmney left?

  • ChrisR266 : Hello Bourne, nice to meet you.

  • MurphTheSurf3 : Hey Bourne

  • ChrisR266 : Murph: Yep, I teach at Otterbein, where Romney was (with Kasich) today.

  • BourneID : Hi AdLib; Chris I don’t think I’ve met you. Hi Murph.

  • AdLib : Chris – What was going on today?

  • MurphTheSurf3 : Chris…what campus? are you in Ohio….????

  • AdLib : Hey Murph! Hope you’re doing well!

  • AdLib : Hey Bourne! What I learned years ago in Speed Reading is to try and see a whole line of text and you can read much faster.

  • KillgoreTrout : Well Ad, busy is good!

  • ChrisR266 : Hi Murph! Yes, it has been a few weeks. I’m trying to get this semester over with, and Romney was on campus today, which was aggravating to no end!

  • KillgoreTrout : Hey Bourne. I left a few comments, but no articles.

  • AdLib : Killgore – Doing pretty well though looks to be a busy weekend for me.

  • MurphTheSurf3 : Hello there…esp. Chris who I have not “seen” forever it seems.

  • BourneID : Hi all…please don’t talk so fast tonight. I’m still in training. I’ll be spending most of the night listening – please be interesting. Hey KT, I came to the planet a couple of times this week, but I didn’t see any wrting from you.

  • ChrisR266 : Hi AdLib: I am fine and well tonight. Not out to dinner, had a hell of a day here in Ohio, so thought I’d pop in, say hey and chat with you all.

  • KillgoreTrout : Hey Ad. All is well, I hope the same in your case.

  • AdLib : Hi Killgore! Hope all is well your way!

  • AdLib : Hey Chris, how are you this evening?

  • KillgoreTrout : HI!

  • ChrisR266 : Evening, All.

  • AdLib : Don’t forget to say “hi” when you arrive!

  • AdLib : Vox Populi, our live chat about the week’s events begins tonight at 7 pm. See you then!
