C'mon, you'll feel better....
This weekend’s music thread is a nod to those songs. You know which ones. The ones you always sing, love deeply yet secretly. This weekend is your chance to let go and share some of your guilty pleasures.
Starland Vocal Band -- Afternoon Delight
Journey -- Separate Ways
Proclaimers -- 500 miles
Meatloaf -- Paradise by the Dashboard Light

Now who has never sung this little ditty;
Sleep tight good folks. This is a great song to leave you with;

Iron Butterfly -- In a Gadda da Vida
Ha! The all time classic acid rock. I remember when they were first played on FM radio. AM wouldn’t play it because it was too long. People went crazy over the long drum solo!

This song is much better in the original Scots…

Dexy’s Midnight Runners
I actually get chills every time I hear this little angel sing. Simply amazing;
KT, I’ll say it again; her high register is floatingly light and beautiful.

Oh yeah, amazingly so. Like I said, she gives me chills. When you hear her talk though, she sounds like any other squeaky voiced 10 year old girl. But when she starts singing,, WOW!

Wow, that is remarkable.

She was once asked what she felt when she sang. She said she would feel a strong power come over her, which made her very, very happy. I would guess divine inspiration. She is that good.

Thanks for reminding us of Jackie and for mentioning this. So beautiful.

Great pick zenith!

The Turtles--Happy Together;
KT, great pick. That song is almost impossible NOT to sing to.
Report comment
For real. It is so catchy.

Alice Cooper was the first concert I went to(I think it was 1974) and the leaders of the Turtles, touring as “Flo And Eddie” opened, so they were the first big rock band I saw.

That’s cool. Did “Alice,” do his straight jacket bit? Where he would sing, “The Ballad of Dwight Frye?” Great bit to see live.

A little change in genre here…
Chopin’s Aeolian Harp Etude
I studied this piece in college. It never fails to bring me to my knees and tears to my eyes! For those of you who are not classical fans, it’s short! And the young lady playing is superb!

Beautiful Em. And she is really good. The passion in her face as she plays is remarkable.

KT, total mastery of the keyboard! She makes it look so easy when it is actually very, very difficult! I slaved over this piece when I was in college after 15+ years of piano.

My favorite Van Morrison song, without a doubt;
Okay…I know this is silly, but I always liked this!
Laugh at me if you want to!
It’s a really dorky video!

Britney Spears -- Toxic
I’m pretty transparent on this one, the chick is smokin’ hot. I’m an easy sell—
Toy Box -- Tarzan and Jane
Lene Nystrom -- It’s Your Duty (To Shake That Booty)
Not so much guilty, as it is just not my normal taste in music, no disrespect to Beyoncée—
Destiny’s Child -- Bootylicious
I wanna know the story of how this became a sports anthem—
Kernkraft 400 -- Zombie Nation
