Shipwreck reproduction by B McCue

I have been asked to post the Weekend Music Thread, so here it is! The theme is “Water.”

During the summer months, so many of us head out to the beach or to the lake, or just sit around thinking of cool, cool rains…

When I mentioned this idea on the O/T thread, several people had good suggestions for songs, including:

It Never Rains in Southern California by Albert Hammond

The Beatles’ “Rain”

“The Rain Song” by Led Zepplin

Gene Kelly’s Singing in The Rain

Fire and Rain by James Taylor

And these are just confining the topic to rain itself! Expanding the idea to the more general topic of “water” makes the possibilities nearly endless. Water in a bathtub, water in a glass, or even the raging sea (as I’ve painted in the intro picture, a copy of Turner’s Shipwreck.)

    The Crüxshadows -- Tears

The gambit flow of shifting thought,
Shall ride a kiss upon my cross,
And with each moment of despair,
Lay to heart a lovely tear.
Within each bulb the salty sea,
    Swims an ocean silently,
Swims the forest of my dreams,
Swims the essence of my being (…I call me)
