Re: Facing the Music – Suggested Songs for Your Trip Home

As you go home to face the music of your vote to end Medicare as we know it, we know you’re worried about what your constituents are going to say…for good reason. Here is a suggested playlist for your trip:

Think – Aretha Franklin (1968)

Desperado – Eagles (1982)

Sorry Seems to Be the Hardest Word – Elton John (1976)

Hard to Say I’m Sorry – Chicago (1982)

I’m Sorry, So Sorry – Brenda Lee (1960)

You Can’t Always Get What You Want – Rolling Stones (1969)

You Got Another Thing Coming – Judas Priest (1982)

Mama Said – The Shirelles (1961)

Sorry (I Ran All the Way Home) – The Impalas (1959)

Cryin’ – Aerosmith (1993)

Who’s Sorry Now? – Connie Francis (1958)

Lost Cause – Beck (2002)

I Learned the Hard Way – Sharon Jones and the Dap-Kings (2010)

Not Ready To Make Nice – Dixie Chicks (2006)

Bad Day – Daniel Powter (2005)

Troubles – Alicia Keys (2001)

When the music stops, you should try listening to the American people.

Hey Truth, good to see you! Hope you are well. I love Laurie Anderson. I saw her years ago in Oakland — one of the best concerts I’ve ever been to.

Hi e’cat, thanks, I’m fine, I hope you too.

Yes, I like Laurie Anderson, she creates interesting stuff. The concert must have been great! I watched a few videos with her and Lou Reed, and thought it was interesting how they communicated through music. Then I came to find out that they are married – makes a lot of sense!

Ok, it was only the Eurovision Song Contest and although it’s not at all apparent, the contest is about the composers and not about the performers. Still I think Anna Rossinelli (because of whom I paid attention to the show in the first place) should have been amongst the top 5 (and most certainly not last!!!). Not the best song, but an excellent band from Basel, Switzerland:

The guy who started the label and the band is the white bassist in the back. He worked for Rick Rubin for a while, and spun off on his own to create a label that focused solely on 50’s soul music. He records all of his music and videos on original equipment from that era. Sharon Jones was a lady he found in his Brooklyn neighborhood working at a laundrymat I believe. Purist. 🙂

How sweet, tell me the name of the song and I’ll double check on youtube. You don’t have to send it, but do appreciate the kind thought. 🙂

Anyone would think that I’m living on Venus.

😆 jkk, how would you know that, and it was at the beginning of this week, went by in a daze and not a drop to drink. No hubby either, he was living it up in Amsterdam.

Now I remember, it must have been the Taurus conversation on TOOT the other week, thought for a second that you must be a mind reader. 😉
