This week we lost one of our bigger-than-life colleagues in the world of Progressive blogging, HumeSkeptic.
Much has been shared about him here and at other blogs. Even if you didn’t know him, you’re invited to join in on this musical tribute with songs about remembering or celebrating those that have passed or those in your life that really matter to you.
The Very Thought of You – Billie Holiday
Miss You – Rolling Stones
You’re My Best Friend – Queen
Kind and Generous – Natalie Merchant
Time of Your Life – Green Day
My Way – Frank Sinatra

I don’t know if this was Hume’s kind of music, but it’s appropriate and a great song.

I think Hume once said -- Stravinsky speaks to me
Hume was as classic as the music he loved. Here is a piece I bookmarked one of those wonderful late nights when just friends were sharing tunes on HP.
It was very cool to find folks on the threads
that had so much passion for great music!
Dublin Philharmonic, Dvorak, New World Symphony, Conductor Derek Gleeson
Second Movement Part 1
Part 2
Delerium -- Remembrance
I’ve got to get back to work right now…I really appreciate this tribute and I’m playin this one for ya Hume…goodnight my friend.

He did have good taste in music and am sure he would have appreciated everyone’s remembrance of him…it’s certainly made me want to reach out more to the people that quietly influence my life.
Sorry I missed you Hope, yes when I think about how many people may have read his words it is mind boggling

And this is in the top forty rotation at the CC.
When I had to be flat on my back and absolutely still for a bone scan, this was on the radio in the background. I’ll never forget it.
At that point, hafta say, that ‘distance’ felt pretty far away. This song always brings back a rush of bittersweet memories.
We will survive!

Hey, Sue! every time i read something about the R.R. (daily- :lol ) I think of you.

Well I am still on their trail LOL. Sharron Angle is a perfect example of one of them. God is telling her to run. I don’t think God wants anything to do with politics.

Hey Sue, ya know that’s right!!:-)

Sue, she misunderstood. God was telling her to run to the nearest mental health clinic. I hope Harry Reid makes lemonade out of that lemon.
Good to see you here, btw!

Thanks for the heads up to come on back to the ‘bright’ place…I never seem to be here when anyone else is though…my timing sucks!
Hope, I just found your comment Saturday morning! (Speaking of timing!) Glad you got a laugh out of my remark. Beck is endless fodder for humor.

What a great line. Thanks, AB!

You are welcome. Maura has a voice that always stops me in my tracks. I know that Hume and Floyd R./CarlVee will be keeping the angels in stitches, and that old devil crying for a long time to come.
