AdLib is online.
  • AdLib : Night!

  • PatsyT : All the Best …

  • AdLib : Great to chat with you too. Have a wonderful weekend!

  • PatsyT : Ahh good to know… Well I have to call it a night … So fun to chat…

  • AdLib : I think we’ll be cool on Net Neutrality in the near term, the FCC is going to re-classify the internet so they can regulate it but I don’t know if a Repub FCC under a Repub president could reverse that.

  • PatsyT : How will the net neutrality wind up?

  • AdLib : Ego is a toxic chemical.

  • PatsyT : Can they really be so short sited?

  • AdLib : Me too, I used to really like Hamsher but the self-centered attacks on Obama, as if the GOP alternative is better, has made her a polarizing figure in the Progressive blog world.

  • PatsyT : That would fit

  • AdLib : I don’t think AH was ever earnest about anything other than gaining celebrity, power and money. SHe didn’t get lost, she just came out from behind the facade, IMO.

  • PatsyT : I still like Kos… I have gotten really mad at that fire dog lake gal

  • PatsyT : Her site started out ok Wow how did they get so out of touch?

  • AdLib : It used to be called, The Yearly Kos, sponsored and organized by The Daily Kos.

  • AdLib : I think since 2004.

  • PatsyT : Oppps Sorry I stepped on your toes…NOT

  • AdLib : Now, what should I say if I run into Arianna?

  • PatsyT : How long have they been doing this?

  • PatsyT : Interesting, It will be cool to hear all about it.

  • AdLib : I think that many are thinking as we are though they may have their own ideas or want to do something other than GROW’s approach. Still, I think it may be very attractive to many there. That’s why I want to have something solid in hand when I go.

  • PatsyT : Most of the people there do not look like they use those words

  • PatsyT : Costco Ha who knew?

  • PatsyT : I wonder if it on the minds of many.. How to get a more collective thing going against the GOP GOBP corp

  • AdLib : I bought a huge container of them at Costco, have to get rid of them before they go bad.

  • PatsyT : Wow those are some big words..

  • AdLib : Couldn’t find any numbers in my quick search but thousands attend. It will be an amazing cornucopia of Progressiveness.

  • AdLib : I don’t know, it’s pretty big…hang on…

  • PatsyT : How many people will be there?

  • PatsyT : Ha I don’t know She is a mom of a 6 year old and is in Orange County .. brave girl I admire her nerve!

  • AdLib : Should I wear a pink carnation?

  • PatsyT : ELLINORIANNE «link»

  • PatsyT : Please look for my friend

  • AdLib : At the same time, sharp people can get a hell of a lot more done as Obama has proven.

  • AdLib : It’s always easier to get lesser educated people to toe the same line. People who are better educated and accustomed to thinking for themselves are a lot tougher to bring together in real unity.

  • AdLib : I can do updates along the way though not live blogs. I may set up a Netroots article at the top of the page and report on what’s going on each day.

  • PatsyT : So they are not as easy to tame as say fox viewers? I mean they think for themselves for the most part

  • PatsyT : Can you do live blogs from the event?

  • AdLib : Yes, the numbers are huge. There have been some very good coordinated campaigns but mostly of the petition or protest march type. Those don’t seem to accomplish much anymore. Which is why, if GROW can offer a concrete action for people to coalesce around, it could be a great thing.

  • PatsyT : So glad he won !

  • PatsyT : Ohh I am a big Franken fan…

  • AdLib : Al Franken is speaking on that Saturday as the Keynote speaker, should be cool. I met him a while back, before he ran for Senate and contributed to his campaign.

  • PatsyT : If they could just get a more collective thing going all the bloggers -The numbers are very large aren’t they?

  • AdLib : I’m very excited about attending Netroots. I’m thinking it should be a great boon for The Planet, GROW and connecting with more sites and bloggers on our agenda.

  • PatsyT : They got to used to being on the defensive

  • AdLib : Good question. There are so many things that are not being talked about by the Dems. They really are not good as a party at leading agendas.

  • PatsyT : How do you think the Net Roots Nation thing will go?

  • PatsyT : Why don’t they talk more about the banks not lending to keep the economy suppressed ?

  • AdLib : Nope, Congress has to decide on all financial appropriations.

  • PatsyT : to extend unemployment benifits

  • AdLib : Honestly, the GOP and the banks not lending is working together to keep the economy depressed so Repubs can get control back.

  • PatsyT : Can’t Obama sign a executive order?

  • AdLib : Excellent! With unemployment being cut off for over 1 million people, the economy may start going south with all that money going out of the economy.

  • PatsyT : Getting rid of Ken Calvert … Theres one.

  • PatsyT : Our Dem in the 44th is on the job «link»

  • AdLib : We need the “apocalypse” scenario hammered because that’s what awaits us if the GOP takes over either house. Obama and government will be brought to a grinding halt and the country will slide downhill, possibly into the depression we thought we had avoided.

  • PatsyT : How about an oil disaster to get out the young vote?

  • PatsyT : Some candidates are saying that but you are right It need to be done in a big way

  • AdLib : Patsy, I know but without a unifying and energizing focus, it is hard to get people out in a midterm election.

  • AdLib : Right. We need a get out the vote but we need a rallying cry at this point. I hate to say it but the fear of what the Repubs in power would do may need to be the focus. What if Joe Barton was in control of Energy in the House, we would be sending BP billions as an apology instead of anyone getting paid for damages.

  • PatsyT : Part of OfA I hope it can help There is a whole new crop of voters that have turned 18

  • PatsyT : «link»

  • AdLib : No, what’s that?

  • PatsyT : Have you seen that new -Raise the Vote – campaign ?

  • AdLib : No, I think you’re right, I don’t think the Repubs will win the House but I do think the Dem majority will get marginal.

  • AdLib : I’m more concerned about the “learning cliff” of the average voter.

  • PatsyT : Am I crazy I don’t think GOP will take over

  • AdLib : I don’t know, maybe having the GOP take over the House would at least show those idjit voters that they’re no good.

  • PatsyT : One of the things CM said once that I liked was that the repubs should be very afraid of the the learning curve that Obama has – he pick things up quick

  • AdLib : The Repub platform is, “We have to stop spending and give the wealthy more tax cuts!” Well…didn’t we try tax cuts and just end up in this hole? I am a bit pissed off at the ignorance of the “haters” out there who are understandably going through these tough times very frustrated but only want to “get even” with the party in power for everything…eve n though they are doing far more to benefit the people than the GOP would do!

  • PatsyT : including insanity

  • PatsyT : Well they can sell the masses cases of Coke a Cola they can sell anything

  • AdLib : It is so simple to explain, though. And as I mentioned, if Repubs get control of Congress, how do these people think that gridlock will help address any of the issues they care about? It really seems to qualify as insanity.

  • PatsyT : and his pie chart

  • PatsyT : A ghost of ross perot

  • AdLib : A comedy video that could go viral would be great.

  • AdLib : Repubs oppose Unemployment Insurance, averting a historic recession, regulating oil and financial corps, wealthy people paying taxes, health care for all Americans…damn , the list just goes on and on, what are people voting for?

  • PatsyT : Visuals

  • PatsyT : Like a- this is your brains on drugs campaign

  • PatsyT : Oh that would be popular

  • AdLib : How the Repubs have fried our democracy?

  • AdLib : Maybe we need a bacon chart.

  • AdLib : It’s not so complex to just say, “Afghanistan, Iraq, corporations taking over our democracy, oil companies having free reign to destroy our country, this is all due to Republicans and Bush controlling the country.” How hard is that?

  • PatsyT : Ross Perot had a pie chart

  • PatsyT : Can’t they just lay out the timeline and show how this stuff is bad for the country?

  • AdLib : The Repubs demonize the Dems and the Dems, instead of attacking back, spend more time defending themselves from lies. That way, the Repubs always do better in promoting their BS.

  • AdLib : I don’t understand it myself, it is a powerful and true message but Dems seem to always prefer complex arguments.

  • PatsyT : So why is this so hard to get the message across that the repub way of life eventually destroys

  • AdLib : Hmm…Friday nights in the summer make it a bit slow on the ol’ blog front.

  • PatsyT : Oh I get it …

  • AdLib : Heh…that was a joke!

  • PatsyT : Then where did they get that word?

  • AdLib : Q – I think Obama is naturally professorial. He is perhaps too intellectual for too many people out there. He seems to think that most people use critical thinking, will recognize how much better and effective he and the Dems are and naturally choose them over the Repubs. As the old saying goes, you’ll never go broke underestimating the gullibility of the average person. Which reminds me, did you know that “gullible” isn’t in the dictionary?

  • PatsyT : The repub message is confusing

  • PatsyT : Q Have a wonderful night….

  • Questinia : I gotta sleep guys, had a long day at the clinic. G’nite!

  • AdLib : Patsy –

  • PatsyT : AdLib that is why you can not circumcise todays Repubs… there is no end to those pricks

  • AdLib : bito – The Repubs have made American Democracy and Government the enemy. Their “good guys” are Wall Street, Oil Companies, corps in general and the wealthy. How do the idjits out there think the GOP will make their lives better?

  • Questinia : Do you think he stays on the down low cause he’s afraid of asassination?

  • PatsyT : CM went on the say that the party system is supposed to get along and compromise

  • AdLib : Patsy – Do you think voters know that the GOP are just saboteurs and they don’t care, they just want to get even?

  • Questinia : Does anyone ever see Michelle?

  • bitohistory : To bring the country together, we need a common enemy, the Rs have made the Dem and Obama the enemy.

  • Questinia : Exactly, lib. He’s not communicating.

  • AdLib : Obama really isn’t pressing the kind of ongoing PR campaign the Bush regime did. He has and is accomplishing Herculean tasks and yet is pretty modest about them. That isn’t a great approach with a full time Fox and GOP assault on him and the Dems.

  • Questinia : Democracy is a system of irony.

  • Questinia : P, interesting.

  • Questinia : Dems don’t explain anything, always on the defensive.

  • PatsyT : Hey I saw some of that … I will give CM a good grade on that … He said that our country is set up to have an minority party and Majority party NOT a Majority party and the other party just trying to destroy them

  • AdLib : Along with Repubs when they controlled Congress, that is.

  • AdLib : At what point do the Dems explain that Bush was a Republican and caused all the disasters Obama is dealing with?

  • Questinia : Angry idiots are what makes America hum these days. Not sure.

  • AdLib : So…I was watching Matthews today and the conversation came up about people opposing Obama and Dems strongly, looking to Repubs…despite all of the groundbreaking and meaningful work Obama and the Dems have accomplished. All the Repubs stand for is blocking everything that comes before them in COngress. Their only goal is to regain power and too many angry idiots are more than willing to buy into the BS surrounding that to realize that a Repub controlled House or Congress will mean NOTHING will get done to help the people of this country in the midst of multiple crises. Do you think that people will come to their senses in Nov or vote the country into a stalemate when we can least afford it?

  • PatsyT : When the boys put it on they must be using the whole bottle UGH !

  • Questinia : Isn’t that updated Aramis?

  • PatsyT : Ok my girls all make fun of the boys that where that stuff AXE

  • Questinia : Right about the smell! Aramis and _____

  • PatsyT : I must have missed something at the gay dance clubs I never saw the bacon but now that I think of it there was this smell

  • Questinia : Patsy, Rough trade Queen

  • AdLib : Mmm…secret bacon…(drool). ..

  • PatsyT : How you can mix Victoria’s Secrets and Bacon I’ll never know

  • AdLib : And you don’t have to “ad”.

  • Questinia : L-I-B are closer on the keyboard.

  • Questinia : You’re “lib” to me from now on.

  • Questinia : Either one worked for me, lib.

  • AdLib : WHoops…I meant…if you get a burn frying up your bra: «link»

  • Questinia : Where’s KQ, these days? is he OK?

  • Questinia : Oh, I have one of those.

  • Questinia : Patsy, we should start taunting Adlib. cause this is like “No Exit”

  • AdLib : Here’s Victoria’s Secrets take on bacon: «link»

  • Questinia : Ha!

  • AdLib : Here’s my logo: «link»

  • PatsyT : All this bacon talk has my dogs drooling …

  • Questinia : I have a bacon fest once a year. I don’t eat a lot of meat, but then an entire pack of bacon ends up oin my plate and i devour it.

  • bitohistory : Or do you dress like this AdLib. «link»

  • PatsyT : Q ;-)

  • Questinia : Bacon thongs are fun. i call them sizzle strips

  • PatsyT : Snausages

  • AdLib : I’m also wearing Underporks.

  • AdLib : Patsy and Q –

  • Questinia : Yup

  • AdLib : Michael Cimino?

  • Questinia : Porkaloons

  • PatsyT : AdLib dogs must love you

  • Questinia : Is Cimino going lady-way?

  • AdLib : Actually, I’m wearing a pair of bacon pants right now. Can only sit on the leather chair but I keep sliding out of it.

  • PatsyT : Yes David Vitter wins

  • Questinia : What’s up with Cimino

  • Questinia : “linked thinks” i kinda like that.

  • AdLib : David Vitter knows!

  • Questinia : When I did that story for FaRT “Mo is a Bacon bar” people linked thinks like bacon baskets filled with bacon.

  • PatsyT : How do you make a hormone?

  • AdLib : You should see me in my Victoria’s Secret!

  • Questinia : For that gynecomastia we all love in our men!

  • AdLib : Q-T!

  • AdLib : But today’s KFC has so much more delicious hormone content than back then.

  • Questinia : You’re still a kid!

  • AdLib : I had KFC as a kid.

  • Questinia : …nor popeye’s

  • PatsyT : «link»

  • PatsyT : Better then the KFC double down

  • Questinia : I’ve never had KFC

  • AdLib : Hey Bito!

  • PatsyT : Hi Bito !!

  • AdLib : It’s from KFC – two fried chicken patties instead of buns, two strips of bacon, two pieces of processed cheese and the Colonel’s secret heart clogging sauce. More calories than you need for two days.

  • bitohistory : Hey all

  • Questinia : Hi bito!

  • bitohistory : I’m in the Med field ,also lol

  • Questinia : Adlib, that looks like a deepfried alligator eating a Southern restaurant.

  • Questinia : I LOVE it!

  • PatsyT : Cool Q Are you enjoying it?

  • Questinia : patsy…yes

  • Questinia : many fireflies tonite

  • PatsyT : So Q is it tru that you are in the med field?

  • AdLib : Q – Here’s what a Double Down looks like: «link»

  • AdLib : We’ll begin in a little bit, folks roll in later in the good ol summertime.

  • PatsyT : Hey if they can clog arteries why not oil pipes?

  • AdLib : Thanks Q! I have a few creations in my quiver but none are more satisfying and gratifying than The Planet!

  • Questinia : 2 guests, two more can’s of viennese sausages!

  • PatsyT : TRUE ! Q

  • Questinia : Adlib invented POV!

  • AdLib : Then again, maybe if we sent a load of Double Downs into the pipe, the fat would clog the pipe like arteries?

  • PatsyT : AdLib, you still young, theres time

  • Questinia : What’s a double down?

  • Questinia : Don’t get me started!

  • PatsyT : We could use her now in the gulf

  • AdLib : And all I’ve invented is a Quadruple Down…putting two KFC Double Downs together.

  • Questinia : I read her dad was a pianist…

  • PatsyT : She gave the torpedos a hard time

  • Questinia : Wow, she was involved in that?

  • PatsyT : Thanks AdLib thats the one

  • AdLib : “Together, Antheil and Lamarr submitted the idea of a secret communication system in June 1941. On August 11, 1942, U.S. Patent 2,292,387 was granted to Antheil and “Hedy Kiesler Markey”, Lamarr’s married name at the time. This early version of frequency hopping used a piano roll to change between 88 frequencies and was intended to make radio-guided torpedoes harder for enemies to detect or jam.”

  • Questinia : Was she a-Hedy of her time in more than just nudity?

  • PatsyT : Her story is kinda fun «link»

  • AdLib : Indeed! Hard to understand how people could become so much more regressive about sexuality today than in the 1920’s.

  • Questinia : How so?

  • PatsyT : She was ahead of her time

  • Questinia : Tahiti

  • PatsyT : She was Jewish and an inventor of all things Hedwig

  • AdLib : As you likely know, she performed the first nude scene in a movie.

  • Questinia : Hit it Ad!

  • Questinia : Exotic for Austria, must have had a little Slav in her.

  • PatsyT : I think she was Austrian

  • AdLib : That was the gag from Blazing Saddles, Harvey Korman was Headley Lamar.

  • Questinia : is it Dutch?

  • PatsyT : Love the name Hedy

  • AdLib : :-)

  • AdLib : That’s Headley.

  • Questinia : BETTER!

  • PatsyT : Hedy Lamar

  • Questinia : Patsy: are you gene tierney?

  • PatsyT : Very cute Q:-)

  • AdLib : Whoops, looks like our guest grabbed some Vienna Sausages and split! Bastard!

  • Questinia : Hi Patricia! ;)

  • AdLib : Hey Patsy!

  • AdLib : Yep, actually two cans.

  • PatsyT : Hi everyone!

  • Questinia : There’s a guest. Did you prepare the canapes?

  • AdLib : Only if you’re blogging in a Stealth fighter.

  • Questinia : In the way!

  • Questinia : One can’t go stealth can one?

  • AdLib : How is everything your way this evening?
