Emotions across the nation seem to me to have been heated lately. I tried reading the Tao last night to calm myself…wasn’t ready. But today, after silencing yet another Republican on C-Span, I went to youtube and found this, which I haven’t listened to in years. Bless Tom Waits, bless him: All that you love is all you own. Sigh.

Being a fairly seriously-out-of-the-cultural-loop person, I hadn’t heard of Waits. But I’m totally, utterly captivated by this sand-paper voiced artist!
Thanks so much for introducing me to him, Nottoo!

Love that Tom Waits. Of course I can’t think of him without thinking of his Renfield in Copola’s Bram Stoker’s Dracula.

Another thing, Nottoo, that I wanted to tell you yesterday: You wrote a comment about wanting to do something, and I thought maybe you could write a letter and send it to the media. Personally, I think the media needs to be held accountable for the level of discourse and for failing to report rebuttals to lies. But you may have other things you want them to know. Here are the addresses and emails of all major media:

Hey, Notto, I adore Tom Waits. After hearing that again, I went and played “Hold On” so thank you!

You are most welcome. I only learned how to post those music vids last Friday night…too late for that thread, but nottoolate for this week’s. Are themes announced in advance? I’m bloody 67 years old and need prep time (seriously). I was going to post “Chocolate Jesus,” but I was afraid I’d offend somebody here, until I read “Hey Jesus, Are You Packing Heat?”
