Dear Sarah,

Thank you for pointing out the basic offensiveness of our decision to change GOP to SOP.

However, since being politically correct, politically intelligent, politically relevant or politically astute seems to no longer be a prerequisite for actually being a member of the Republican Party – we feel that our decision is the correct one.

After careful consideration, we could no longer find an argument or even any reason for the “Grand” in Grand Old Party. Nonetheless, we were encouraged to keep at least some of the moniker – mostly because of brand recognition.

Therefore, the change from GOP to SOP will remain and we are sorry that your feelings have been hurt by this change. However, we can assure you that Special Olympics Party (SOP) is the right choice.

Yours Truly,

America

The former governor believes that the health care summit was a “victory” overall for Republicans because Americans got to hear their ideas.

In the same interview, Palin had a message for tea party protesters who are considering starting a third party to run against Republicans. “Now a simple answer to a challenge we face today with the tea party movement — and I believe that I’m a part of that because I’m such a believe in freedom and that’s what the tea party is all about — a simple answer to the challenge that they face and not knowing kind of where we belong right now is to essentially pick a party because we are a two party system,” said Palin.

“It’s a heck of a lot easier to get in there and reform one of the parties and get the people in the party to understand what has built this great country and what will allow for a brighter future for this great country than it is to form a whole new machine and a whole new process via a third party,” the former governor continued.

“Let’s just get in there and take over one of the parties. I vote take over the Republican Party, tea partiers, and get them to see the light,” Palin suggested.

Which R idea did she think they got out? The start over, clean slate, kill the bill, clean piece of paper, or the little steps idea?

Well, at least she told the teabaggers which party to take over!

I would bet heavy money that the R party is not real happy with her blithering right about now. Take over the party? She is even more insane than I thought, unless of course, Murdoch is gonna back this venture.

God, I’m sick of listening to GOP non sequitur’s. They should re-brand themselves at the POM: Party of Morons.

It’s too much work to try to figure out what she’s trying to say. She has so massacred the English language’s rules of sentence structure. What’s most worrisome to me is that I don’t understand why so many people would vote a person as POTUS that doesn’t follow the most basic rules for sentence structure. I didn’t understand it with George either. What we don’t understand we cannot effectively counter. Can anyone give me some insight into this phenomenon?

Her atrocious grammar is nothing compared to the insane lack of any attempt to observe basic logic.

It seems that there is a massive movement stoked in part by Palin, but masterminded by Rove, and executed by GWB. This movement is a direct assault on logic. Examples:

* (RE: Health care bill) There will be death panels designed to kill elderly people. This is an “Appeal to Belief”, “Appeal to Emotion”, and an “Appeal to Fear” all rolled into one.

* The health care bill will cost us a fortune, therefore we should not support the public option: “False Dilemma”.

Oh forget it. I give up. I can take nearly every single statement made by modern (pseudo) Republicans and they all fail a logic test in one way or another. How are we going to fight this onslaught?

Living in GA I think of SOP as Southerners Only Party.
