Music not only soothes the savage beasts, it can send a message to the savage beasts that “we won’t be fooled again” and “you’re too good to be true”.
Today’s theme is Music that sends a message to someone you fancy, a friend going through tough times, greedy politicians and CEOs, dear old Mom or even your friends at PlanetPOV.
Here are a few messages in a bottle:
These two songs are to send a message to the MSM, the weak-kneed in Congress, the Teabaggers and all those who think losing one Senate seat means the end of the Progressive agenda:
Won’t Back Down – Tom Petty
http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x9ch5Rockin’ In The Free World – Neil Young
Here’s a message to the insurance companies and corporations trying to own us and our democracy:
We’re Not Gonna Take It – Twisted Sister
Here’s the message I’m sending to Pres. Obama:
I Believe In You – How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying
And to all my fellow Planet members:
All Together Now – The Beatles

My husband and I are working on learning this song on the guitar -
And this one -
And I’m trying to learn this one on the piano -
Another Birthday to celebrate, a music birthday:

It’s a close friend of mine that I used to play bass with.
I’d hold the beat down on this one while he figured out the crazy guitar stuff.
Back Off
This is a little something he did while he was in Amsterdam.
It’s for America
Hatred and Bitterness
Nice. I’d like titles identifying all the scenes in the second one. I got quite a few of them, especially the Pakistani and Southern references.

too much, Tiger, thanks. (JFK, my first national election, just a few years ago)

Okay,
This first one was a fave from 10(?) years ago; yep she was younger then (myself as well, go figure), the message is the same, yet there is such a maturity in her voice/presentation, that has grown with mine. Actually, I think I like the 2009 version better; maybe it’s because both of us have grown up (although I’m probably old enough to be her mum). Nevertheless to the love of my life:
Then: 1996+
and now, Australia 2009

Adlib, excellent choices and sentiment.

Thanks Nicole! It was hard narrowing them down. My favorite is “I Believe In You”, with the corporate Repub types singing, “Gotta Stop That Man!”
Didn’t realize how fitting it was till I watched it, been a long time!

For B’ito -
For everyone discouraged by last week’s news-
For all baseball fans --
For homophobes -
For California and Arizona folks cleaning up after the storms -
And just because it’s a great song --
Thanks from the Ca resident, still damp from all that rain!

I heard they used to record songs on big, vinyl discs at one time, can you imagine?
How did they put those big things in their CD player?

Hi everyone!
I won’t lie and tell you that I just woke up because I’m not awake yet. Reading through AdLibs introduction, the first line made me laugh, “Music not only soothes the savage beasts,”
As many of you know, English is my second language and there are times, when very tired, that I tend to write it upside down and inside out. The “savage beast” part reminded me that as a kid with limited knowledge of my new language, I thought for years that it was “savage breasts” and couldn’t wait for my time to come to grow some.
Love her voice, reminds me a little of Tina Turner.
I don’t know how savage these are, but it made me think of this acid house classic:
Now I wonder if a man who never actually sees his wife naked before they get married and she wears this bra, can he sue for fraud.

For gravity K, I don’t think so. Then again be careful what you wish for guys. When those pants are flapping around the ankles, the tables could turn.

OMG I watched the whole thing! Fascinatingly ridiculous!
