Ok, just a short post for Anthony’s Nana, me, to brag on him a bit.  He is getting in to the arts quite heavily.  He has natural talent as both his father and Papa are artists.  A week or so ago I noticed a piece of paper on my desk in my office.  I read it and realized it was the lyrics to a song, although it was all run together without much punctuation, but he is only 9.  When I asked him, he said yes, it was a song and he had the music to it and would sing it for us.  Well he did and we were (appropriately) very complimentary.  I don’t know alot about 9 year old development, but I do think he did an excellent job.

You be the judge and let me know if I am just a very prejudiced Nana………………………..  I am going to try to tape him singing it for us.  Sometimes he is camera shy.

Woo, oh ya (yeah), rolling around at the speed of sound
got places to go, gotta follow my heart
Now can’t stick around
gotta keep
moving on
for what lies ahead

Only one way to find out,
must keep on moving ahead
Trust me and I’ll set you free, follow me, set me free
Trust me and we’ll escape from the city
I’ll make it through,
From me to you, follow me

Oh ya, creatures lurking around every turn
Trust me, you must live and learn
I know it’s complicated, but we will make it through
No more options only one thing to do
I know what lies ahead,
I will fight no matter what it may be
Trust me and I’ll set you free
Follow me, set me free

————————————— UPDATE ——————————————-

Tiger99 has pointed out to me this is a song from a game.  I am not sure if Anthony has it, but he got the lyrics so he must have accessed it on my pc.  I am going to stress to him the importance of not plagurizing while I am eating his favorite dessert LOL.

I am a soon to be 59 Nana to Anthony who is 11. I live in Benicia CA with my husband and Shih Tsu. I worked in Banking and the Financial Industry for 24 years in Fraud, Risk Management, Account Management, Program Management, Project Management and Customer Service. I was a Fraud Investigator for Credit Card and Merchant Business and investigated internal fraud and responded to Bank robberies. I was also management in most of these positions. Now I am content to find a part time job where I am just a worker bee, no more corporate BS for this gal. I also make jewelry. I can spend hours in a bead shop just touching all the fine baubles. Only another beader would understand that one.

Sue,

Don’t be to hard on him. Just consider it growing pains. You may want to explain to him that if writes or copies anothers words, he needs to give them credit with of footnote of the author.

Wow, I could not have done that. I’m not a gamer at all though…

Moral of the story? Get him some good music, age-appropriate, to listen to! Nevertheless, I guess if it was written from the music, and not googled, that’s something, too.

I am thinking I should have waited a couple of days and let all the Grandma’s blog away… 😈

I would have likely embarrassed myself too, musing over Sega lyrics. Ouch ❗
