An opinion piece in the L.A.Times points out that when there are only 60 senators in the democratic caucus, everyone gets to be the 60th vote. The piece takes the onus off Lieberman — a little — and spreads it around.

Since Christmas is this Friday, and it truly is the most wonderful time of the year –

The Arizona Republic has a story about Santa Claus and his unhealthy lifestyle.
Santa is morbidly obese, and the suggestion for all us good little girls and boys is to leave Santa a vegie tray with lo-fat ranch dressing instead of cookies and hi-fat milk.

Also, the man responsible for the song, “Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer” credits his lyrics to Merle Haggard’s “Grandma’s Homemade Christmas Card,” in which the grandma does not die, but the song is a tear-jerker leading the listener to believe that grandma is soon to meet her demise.
So, Brooks, decided to kill grandma right off at the beginning of the song so there’s no wondering.
